Bruins' Lucic Wants To Stay With Team

News: Milan Lucic finished the 2014-15 season for the Bruins with 18 goals, 44 points and 81 PIM in 81 games, to go along with a plus-13 rating.
Analysis: From a fantasy perspective, all of Milan Lucic's key numbers were down from the production that he enjoyed in 2013-14, when he notched 24 goals, 59 points and 91 PIM in 80 games to go along with a plus-30 rating. The 26-year-old power forward is now slated to enter the final year of his current contract with the Bruins (worth $6 million per season) and it remains to be seen if the team will try to extend Lucic or possibly consider dealing him down the road. Per csnne.com, Lucic would like to remain with the Bruins, but the team's failure to qualify for the playoffs could lead to an offseason shake-up and at this stage few of the team's players who are under contract for next season are considered untouchable.

Two Points In Win For Bruins' Lucic

News: Milan Lucic assisted on the game-tying goal and scored the game-winner with 1:09 remaining Tuesday against Florida.
Analysis: It's still been a slow offensive year for Milan Lucic, but he does have four points over the last three games, marking an emergence from a six-game slump in which he'd managed just a single assist. Normally a strong contributor of goon points, he's been rather limited in the PIM department for a while now -- Lucic has just eight penalty minutes in all of calendar year 2015 so far.

Lucic Scores Twice In Big Win For Boston

News: Milan Lucic notched two goals in a huge win for Boston on Saturday.
Analysis: The Bruins came into the game in a free fall having lost six straight games but Milan Lucic came up big at the right time. The goals were his 16th and 17th of the season but they were only his third and fourth in March.

Point Streak Goes To Four For Bruins' Lucic

News: Milan Lucic tallied the game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-0 triumph over the Penguins.
Analysis: Milan Lucic has been a catalyst in the Bruins' five-game winning streak, generating four points while racking up 18 hits during that span. He's still on track to fall short of 50 points for the season, but given the high level he's played at of late, he should make for a worthy activation during the fantasy playoffs.

Bruins' Lucic Gets Assist In Win

News: Milan Lucic assisted on Ryan Spooner's second goal of the game in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Milan Lucic has been starting to heat up of late, both offensive and in the secondary categories. Over his last five games, he's recorded two goals, three assists, 15 hits, and two PIM, production in line with what he often displayed during last season's stellar campaign. Lucic is still in line to finish with down numbers across the board in 2014-15, but he's still worth keeping active in just about any format right now while he continues to thrive.

Bruins' Lucic: Two-Point Game

News: Milan Lucic scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over Arizona. It's his first multi-point game since Jan. 29.
Analysis: His 34 points this season project to a woeful 45 by year's end, and that's a significant drop-off from an expected 60. Even his 13 goals so far mean he'll be lucky to hit 18 if he maintains his current pace. He's been a fantasy anchor on many a squad; we're not really forecasting much of a change over the next 20 games.

Bruins' Lucic Collects Game-Winning Goal

News: Milan Lucic notched the game-winning goal in Sunday's 6-2 victory over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Milan Lucic had failed to record a goal in his previous seven games, and no points in his last four. The winger is still as ornery as ever with 185 hits and 73 PIM on the season, but he's seen his offense totals decrease across the board. He's on pace to fall below the 50-point mark for the first 82-game season since 2009-10.

Bruins' Lucic Tallies Goal Despite Illness

News: Milan Lucic found the back of the net in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Milan Lucic's status was in question leading up to the matchup against the Rangers because he was dealing with flu-like symptoms. Still, he was on the ice for 15:53, more than a minute less than his average for the season. The goal's a great sign that he's over the illness.

Bruins' Lucic (Illness) Taking Warmups

News: Milan Lucic (illness) was on the ice for pregame warmups Wednesday, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Milan Lucic sat out Boston's morning skate while continuing to deal with flu-like symptoms, but fully expected to play in the evening contest against the Rangers. He'll likely resume his regular role on the Bruins' top line.

Bruins' Lucic Still On Track To Play Wednesday

News: Milan Lucic (illness) was absent from the Bruins' morning skate, but still plans to play Wednesday against the Rangers, Joe Haggerty of CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Milan Lucic hasn't even arrived in New York with the rest of the team yet, as he stayed behind in Boston for the night to rest up from the flu. The team still seems optimistic that he'll suit up Wednesday, but there's still some risk of him serving being scratched since he hasn't skate the last two days. His availability may not be known for certain until the Bruins conduct their pregame warmups 30 minutes before Wednesday's 8:00 ET start time.

Bruins' Lucic Dealing With Flu

News: Milan Lucic missed Tuesday's practice with the flu, and while he won't travel with his teammates, he may still be able to play in Wednesday's game against the Rangers, ESPN Boston's Joe McDonald reports.
Analysis: Given that the trip isn't a long one, Milan Lucic still stands a decent chance to play, even though he's sticking behind in Boston. Bruins coach Claude Julien said he expects Lucic to play Wednesday.

Bruins' Lucic Not At Practice

News: Milan Lucic was not at practice Tuesday.
Analysis: Milan Lucic isn't known to be dealing with an injury, but his absence from practice suggests that he's bothered by something. More information should be available before Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Bruins' Lucic Registers Three Points

News: Milan Lucic tallied a pair of assists, an empty-net goal, five hits and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's win over the Isles.
Analysis: Things have been very inconsistent for Milan Lucic lately -- earlier this month, he tallied six points in four games, creating hope of a resurgence, but he proceeded to go scoreless in three straight, only to bounce back with four points in his last two. So the total numbers recently have been quite solid, but they've come in fits and starts. The Bruins would surely like to get some more offensive consistency out of the tough winger.

Bruins' Lucic Chips In Two Points

News: Milan Lucic scored a goal, added an assist and finished plus-2 in Tuesday's win over the Lightning.
Analysis: That's three multi-point efforts in the last four for Milan Lucic, giving him six points and a plus-6 rating in that span. Not coincidentally, the Bruins have won all four games. A continued offensive resurgence for Lucic would be a major boon for the Bruins, who were definitely set back by his lackluster contributions early in the season.

Two-Goal Night For Bruins' Lucic

News: Milan Lucic opened the scoring with a power-play goal (which held up as the winner) and finished things with an empty-netter in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Devils.
Analysis: Don't look now, but Milan Lucic may just be finding his game -- he's now posted consecutive multi-point outings for the first time all season. And he's doing it while continuing to take the body, giving him plentiful fantasy value in formats that count his PIM and hits.

Bruins' Lucic Adds Two Assists In Win

News: Milan Lucic collected two assists in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Milan Lucic was also a plus-3 on the night, and was a big reason the Bruins were able to pull out a victory in overtime. The gritty winger currently has six goals, 14 assists, and 69 PIM in 40 games this season.

Bruins' Lucic Returns

News: Milan Lucic (undisclosed injury) notched an assist in 18:53 worth of ice time in his return to action in Wednesday's shootout loss to Toronto.
Analysis: After a one-game absence, Milan Lucic was back in action Wednesday, manning left wing on a line centered by David Krejci, with Seth Griffith on the right wing. As for the issue that kept him out of Monday's game against Detroit, Lucic -- without getting into specifics -- told the Boston Herald that it had nothing to do with the fight he had with Dalton Prout (of Columbus) on Saturday. "It was just something nagging that comes up in the middle of the season and just a day-to-day type of thing, and just smart to sit out a couple days and get the rest, and it really helped get me back in the lineup here today," Lucic noted Wednesday.

Lucic Set To Return To Bruins' Lineup

News: Milan Lucic (undisclosed injury) is slated to play Wednesday against the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: The Bruins will also welcome Patrice Bergeron back to their lineup Wednesday after the duo missed Monday's game against the Red Wings. To date, Milan Lucic has recorded a disappointing six goals and 17 points in 36 games, though he has helped out owners in PIM-friendly formats, with 69 penalty minutes in that span.

Bruins' Lucic Iffy For Wednesday

News: Though Milan Lucic (undisclosed injury) participated in practice Tuesday, his status for Wednesday's game against the Maple Leafs is unclear, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: "I haven't been told that they are cleared to play, yet," coach Claude Julien noted Tuesday of both Milan Lucic and Patrice Bergeron. "They looked fairly good today and we'll reassess them [Wednesday] and the decision will come at some point." More on Lucic's status Wednesday, but with the Bruins not slated to hold a morning skate in advance of the Toronto game, the power forward's status for the contest may not be confirmed until warmups.

Bruins' Lucic Practicing Tuesday

News: Milan Lucic (undisclosed) was on the ice for Tuesday morning's practice.

Bruins' Lucic Out For Monday

News: Milan Lucic (undisclosed) will not play Monday against the Red Wings, Joe Haggerty of CSN New England reports.

Bruins' Lucic Not Expected To Play Monday

News: Milan Lucic (undisclosed) is not expected to play Monday against the Red Wings, Joe Haggerty of CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Milan Lucic wasn't present at the team's morning skate Monday, and head coach Claude Julien called the winger day-to-day after missing practice Sunday. The gritty winger has six goals and 11 assists through 36 games, and could return for Wednesday's matchup with the Maple Leafs.

Bruins' Lucic Snaps Goal Slump

News: Milan Lucic scored his sixth goal of the season Tuesday in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Predators, snapping a six-game goalless streak.
Analysis: The offense has been slow to come for Milan Lucic this season. Typically a reliable candidate to perform at a 60-point pace, he's not even averaging a point every other game currently, with just 15 in 31 contests. He's still an elite fantasy performer in formats that count hits and PIM, though, as his four penalty minutes Tuesday pushed him to 60 on the year and he also collected his 100th hit of the campaign.
