Bruins' Lucic Adds Points, PIM

News: Milan Lucic picked up his first points of the season -- a pair of assists -- as well as a dozen penalty minutes in Thursday's loss to Montreal.
Analysis: He was ejected late in the game, which is how he compiled all those PIM. He also could potentially end up with a short suspension after making rude gestures at the crowd. Milan Lucic also went minus-1, so coming off last year's plus-30, he's minus-2 through six games this year. The PIM contributions are expected, but it's odd that Lucic opened the year with five point-free games. Monitor him carefully.

Bruins' Lucic Ejected Late In Third Period

News: Milan Lucic was ejected late in the third period after he made gestures at the crowd and had words with the ref following a penalty late in the third period, Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Milan Lucic vented some of his frustration after being called for a penalty late in the third period, but it cost him the rest of the game. He will almost certainly face at least a fine for his actions but may receive a short suspension as well. Either way, the situation should be resolved in the next few days.

Bruins' Lucic Skates With Spooner And Fraser

News: Milan Lucic saw 15:22 worth of ice time in Wednesday's season-opening 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Analysis: With top line center David Krejci out, the Bruins had to tinker with their line combos Wednesday, resulting in Milan Lucic working on a line with Ryan Spooner and Matt Fraser. Once Krejci returns to action, we'd expect Lucic (who is still getting up to speed following offseason surgery on his left wrist) to once again combo with the playmaking pivot, but until then, Lucic could be a hit-or-miss fantasy option.

Bruins' Lucic Returns To Action

News: Milan Lucic (wrist) made his preseason debut Saturday against the Red Wings, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Milan Lucic, who worked on a line with Ryan Spooner and Jared Knight on Saturday, took three penalties in 14:57 worth of ice time in the contest, while failing to record a shot. While Lucic will need to see some more action in order to get his timing back, assuming no setbacks, his status for the B's regular season opener appears secure.

Bruins' Lucic Will Play Saturday

Bruins' Lucic Could Play Saturday

News: Milan Lucic (wrist) could play Saturday against the Red Wings, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: While the rugged left winger -- who is bouncing back from offseason wrist surgery -- did not play Friday against Washington, he is traveling with the team and could make his preseason debut as soon as Saturday's tilt against Detroit.

Bruins' Lucic Limited In Camp

News: Milan Lucic (wrist) will be limited at the start of training camp, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: Milan Lucic is recovering from wrist surgery, so this is not unexpected, though at this stage, there hasn't been anything to suggest that the rugged winger's status for the start of the regular season is in any danger.

Bruins' Lucic (Wrist) Will Be Limited In Camp

News: Milan Lucic (wrist) will remain limited during training camp, ESPN reports. "It's getting better," Lucic said. "Obviously it was a long summer, having to be in a cast for 12 weeks. I feel like I've turned a corner on it the last week, week and a half. Still working hard to get it up to 100 percent."
Analysis: Milan Lucic continues to work toward building strength in the wrist since injuring it during Game 1 of the Bruins' second-round series against the Canadiens. He said he plays to be cautious in camp, which should enable him to be at full strength when the regular season begins. "Every time you have surgery, it never really goes back to 100 percent," Lucic said. "But you hope that you can get back to a point where you were feeling as good as before the surgery. For myself, just trying to get mentally healthy and get that out of the way, the mental part of it. That part of it is a big part of it to overcome, as far as shooting and just pushing and just all that type of stuff. It's a lot of hard work when you get injured to get to 100 percent, and that's your main goal is to try to get there."

Bruins' Lucic Scrimmages

News: Milan Lucic (wrist) scrimmaged with his teammates on Tuesday, csnne.com reports.
Analysis: The important thing to note here is that Milan Lucic, who is on track to skate on a line with David Krejci and Louis Eriksson this coming season, appears to have moved past a wrist issue that required offseason repair.

Bruins' Lucic Undergoes Wrist Surgery

News: Milan Lucic underwent surgery on his right wrist Friday, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Milan Lucic hurt his wrist in the Bruins' Game 7 loss to the Canadiens, but the setback has already been addressed. Assuming a normal recovery process, Lucic should be good to go when training camp begins this fall.

Bruins' Lucic Hurts Wrist In Game 7

News: Milan Lucic hurt his left wrist in Game 7 and an MRI is scheduled, the Boston Globe's Fluto Shinzawa reports.
Analysis: With the Bruins eliminated from the playoffs, this has little fantasy impact, as it is likely Milan Lucic will be ready for the 2014-15 season, regardless of the diagnosis.

Bruins' Lucic Expected To Play

News: Milan Lucic was not present at morning skate but is expected to play in Saturday's Game 5 against the Canadiens, the Boston Globe reports.

Lucic A Force In Boston Win

News: Milan Lucic grabbed a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over Detroit in the series-clinching victory, giving him three goals in the last four games.
Analysis: Milan Lucic becomes a different player when the calendar hits April and May and is poised for a long playoff run again as one of the Bruins' top offensive players. He was a force on the ice in Saturday's win and figures to throw his body around against a smaller Montreal squad in the Atlantic Division final. Lucic finished the series against Detroit with four points through five games.

Bruins' Lucic Fined $5,000

News: Milan Lucic was fined $5,000 by the NHL on Saturday for spearing Red Wings' defenseman Danny DeKeyser during Friday's game, The Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis: Though the play, which occurred late in the second period, was not penalized, Milan Lucic will cut a check to the league. He will not be suspended, though, so his status for Sunday's Game 2 shouldn't be affected.

Bruins Rest Lucic

News: With the team's playoff seeding locked in, Milan Lucic did not travel with the Bruins to New Jersey where the team plays Sunday, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Neither did fellow forwards Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Jarome Iginla, Chris Kelly, and Daniel Paille, which paves the way for recalls Craig Cunningham, Justin Florek, Alexander Khokhlachev and Matt Lindblad to see action in the Bruins' regular season finale.

Lucic Propels Bruins To Victory On Saturday

News: Milan Lucic potted two goals and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: The three-point afternoon positions Milan Lucic well to attain the third 60-point campaign of his career. He'll need two points over the Bruins' remaining four games to accomplish the feat.

Bruins' Lucic Posts Three Points Saturday

News: Milan Lucic had a monster game - scoring once, assisting twice, and laying five hits - in Saturday's 5-1 matinee defeat of the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Looch got the party started with the game's opening goal at 15:28 of the first and factored into scoring in the second and third as well, grabbing assists on both of Jarome Iginla's goals. His line with Iginla and David Krejci has been en fuego the last four games, combining for 15 points and a ridiculous plus-16 rating. He is now four assists and 10 points shy of his career highs.

Lucic Tallies Assist In Boston Win

News: Milan Lucic extended his point streak to three games with an assist on Jarome Iginla's game-winning goal Thursday against Phoenix.
Analysis: Milan Lucic has a goal and two helpers over that span, and he remains a top offensive weapon for the Bruins, having tallied 49 points in 65 games. He likely won't crack the 60-point mark we've seen him hit before, but he remains a hugely valuable player in leagues that reward penalty minutes and shooting percentage.

News: Milan Lucic registered a goal and an assist in Sunday's win over the Rangers.

Analysis: Milan Lucic was a bright spot in the scoring, tallying his 18th goal of the season. Despite the offensive output, he still posted a minus-3 while on the ice. He headed into the Olympic break on a four-game point streak and appears to have picked up where he left off.

News: Milan Lucic scored a goal, added a power-play assist and laid five hits in Tuesday's victory over the Canucks.

Bruins' Lucic Scores Twice In Victory

News: Milan Lucic scored two goals on three shots in Tuesday's victory over the Panthers.
Analysis: Milan Lucic has only scored one previous goal in the entire month of January, so Tuesday's two-goal performance was a welcome change of pace for fantasy owners. Tuesday's plus-4 rating brought him back to a positive rating for the month, and the 25-year-old will look to carry this momentum into Thursday's matchup against Montreal.

Bruins' Lucic Tallies Two Points

News: Milan Lucic assisted on the first goal of the game and later scored a power-play marker that turned out to be the game-winner Thursday against Dallas.
Analysis: This game stayed tied until deep into the second period, when Milan Lucic assisted on David Krejci's goal with four seconds remaining in the frame. That set off a flurry of scoring in the third period, in which Lucic's power-play tally put the Bruins up 3-1; they'd go on to win by the score of 4-2. The fine night snapped a four-game scoreless skid for the winger, whose fantasy owners have endured a lot of streakiness this year. This could be the start of a new streak.

Bruins' Lucic Returns To Action

News: Milan Lucic (illness) saw 17:15 worth of ice time in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Kings.
Analysis: Milan Lucic, who saw 3:58 worth of power play time Thursday, was minus-2 in the game, but the important thing to note is that he's past his bout with food poisoning and in line to remain a solid fantasy option moving forward, while skating on the Bruins' top line. In 43 games to date, the power forward has 30 points, 53 PIM and and an overall plus/minus rating of plus-13.
