Sabres' Schutz Heads Back to Germany

News: Schutz, a fourth-round pick by the Sabres in 2006, will not be playing for Portland of the AHL this year, according to a report Saturday in the Maine Hockey Journal.
Analysis: He'll play in the German Elite League, so even though he'll remain the property of the Sabres it's doubtful we'll be seeing him in Buffalo this season. Given that his production dropped by 15 points last season vs. the previous in the AHL, we may not be seeing him in NHL arenas for a long time.

Sabres make some roster moves

News: The Sabres assigned forward Jeff Cowan and defenseman Joe DiPenta to Portland of the AHL, pending waivers. Goalie Jhonas Enroth, forwards Philip Gogulla and Felix Schutz and defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani were also sent to the Pirates.
Analysis: Enroth and Gragnani are two of the Sabres' top prospects. They should probably be owned in long-term Fantasy keeper leagues. The other players are pretty much providing the Sabres with organizational depth and have minimal Fantasy appeal when in the NHL.

Sabres send 14 to minors

News: The Buffalo News reports that the Sabres have sent the following players to the minors: RW Tyler Bouck (pending waivers), F Jimmy Bonneau (pending waivers), C Colton Fretter, D Marc-Andre Gragnani, F Derek Whitmore, C Felix Schutz, C Colin Murphy, D Mike Card, D Mike Kostka, G Jhonas Enroth, F Josh Vatri and D Paul Baier.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value, so continue to ignore them in all leagues.

Sabres announce roster cuts

News: The Buffalo Sabres assigned Mike Card, Adam Dennis, Marc-Andre Gragnani, Dylan Hunter, Patrick Kaleta and Mike Weber to Rochester of the AHL on Wednesday. Phillip Gogulla and Felix Schutz were assigned to their DEL clubs in Germany.
Analysis: Card and Kaleta have a chance to see some time in the NHL, but none of the players are worth a look in Fantasy leagues at this time.
