Coyotes' Korpikoski Practices

News: Lauri Korpikoski (upper body) practiced with the team Wednesday, Dave Vest of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Lauri Korpikoski was wearing a no-contact jersey during practice, so it doesn't appear likely that he'll be available when the Coyotes take on the Blues on Thursday. The winger will accompany the team on their three-game road trip however, so it's not inconceivable that he could suit up Saturday against the Blackhawks, or Monday against the Red Wings.

Coyotes' Korpikoski Nets Two

News: Lauri Korpikoski scored twice in the Coyotes' 5-4, come-from-behind shootout win over the Ducks on Saturday, the first of three straight meetings between the Pacific Division foes.
Analysis: Lauri Korpikoski netted his fifth and sixth of the season, giving him 11 points in 21 games. He hadn't scored in almost a month before Saturday's contest, and the goals marked the first time all year that he lit the lamp against a goalie who isn't Finnish.

Analysis: The Korpedo has four points (3G, 1A) through six games to go along with a minus-1 rating in an average of 17:11 of ice time. He's useful in deeper leagues, but most fantasy players won't be interested unless the winger shows he can maintain his current scoring clip.

Analysis: He struggled to get up after he and Keith fell to the ice after an intense puck battle deep in the Hawks' zone. He sat on the bench for some time and then tested the injury during the TV timeout, but was quick to leave the ice and head to the dressing room. He may not contribute much offensively, but his checking is critical to shutting down opposing scorers.

Coyotes' Korpikoski On Hot Streak

News: Lauri Korpikoski has notched eight points in his last nine games for the Coyotes, dating back to Jan. 13, the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Though Lauri Korpikoski was held pointless in five of those games, he had three multi-point performances, including a two-goal effort against San Jose on Feb. 4. Of the eight points, four have been goals. He and Ray Whitney are two of the biggest keys to the Coyotes' offensive success, so Phoenix has to be encouraged that Korpikoski is emerging strong from the All-Star break.

News: Lauri Korpikoski had a goal and two assists Friday night as Phoenix fell 4-3 to Columbus. The goal was his 10th of the season and first since Dec. 21.
Analysis: He had been struggling offensively heading into Friday's contest with only a single assist over his past nine games. Lauri Korpikoski has been seeing significant ice time this year, averaging 16:41 a game, but with only 21 points in 45 games, his fantasy value is limited.
