Goaltender Rotation Will Continue In Winnipeg

News: Head coach Paul Maurice has stressed that the Jets' goalie rotation between Ondrej Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson will continue after the NHL's three-day holiday break, Tim Campbell of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec will continue to split starts with Hutchinson for the time being. However, Pavelec has struggled as of late, losing three of his last four games while giving up at least three goals in each of those losses. Meanwhile, Hutchinson has gone 8-2-2 this season while posting a league-leading 1.67 GAA as well as a league-leading .944 save percentage. If Pavelec continues to struggle, and Hutchinson continues to dominate, Pavelec may find himself on Winnipeg's bench more often than he finds himself starting in net moving forward.

Jets' Pavelec Gives Up Four Goals In Loss

News: Ondrej Pavelec surrendered four goals on 23 shots in Sunday's overtime loss to the Flyers.
Analysis: After a solid outing Tuesday vs. Buffalo, Ondrej Pavelec returned to his losing ways Sunday. The 27-year-old has now lost three of his past four games, giving up at least three goals in each of those losses. Considering Pavelec's recent struggles, expect rookie Michael Hutchinson and his league-leading .940 save percentage to continue to make his case to be Winnipeg's starting netminder.

Jets To Start Pavelec

News: Ondrej Pavelec will start in net against the Flyers on Sunday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec is in a rotation with Michael Hutchison in net, and Sunday is his turn to start in net. He is coming off a good performance against the Sabres in which he stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced, and carries a 2.27 GAA and .916 save percentage into the matchup.

Pavelec Bounces Back In Jets' Win

News: Ondrej Pavelec denied 27 of 28 shots in Tuesday's 5-1 rout of the Sabres.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec had been rough over the last two games, giving up seven goals, and has struggled to establish much consistency at any point this year. But this is a positive outing that could lead to Pavelec drawing another start when the Bruins come visiting Friday.

Jets' Pavelec To Get Tuesday Nod

News: Ondrej Pavelec will be in the crease Tuesday against the Sabres, 680 CJOB Sports reports.
Analysis: Coach Paul Maurice has stuck firmly to his pattern of alternating starts between Ondrej Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson, though he may be reconsidering that plan based how Pavelec's last two turns have gone. The netminder has yielded seven goals on 51 shots (.862 save percentage), taking losses to the Ducks and Avalanche in the process. It's no safe bet that he'll get things back on track against the Sabres, who look significantly more imposing than they did at the start of the year.

Shootout Dooms Jets' Pavelec

News: Ondrej Pavelec stopped 23 of 26 through regulation and overtime, then allowed goals on both shootout attempts in a loss to Colorado on Thursday.
Analysis: Not a pretty result on any count for Pavs, who's hit a slump lately, going 2-2-2 over his last seven starts, during which he's posted save marks north of .900 just twice. If things don't turn around soon, he's going to end up working his way out of a timeshare and into a backup role behind the impressively reliable Michael Hutchinson.

Jets' Pavelec Back In Goal Thursday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will start Thursday's game against the Avalanche, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec will return to the crease after giving way to Michael Hutchinson in Winnipeg's last game Tuesday. Pavelec has played well this season, but Hutchinson has too, so expect the two to continue sharing the goaltending duties for the Jets.

Jets' Pavelec Allows Four In Loss

News: Ondrej Pavelec allowed four goals on 25 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec was coming off of a pair of wins in which he allowed just three goals combined, but struggled on Sunday as he allowed the game winner less than a minute into the extra period. He's now 9-8-3 and his numbers aren't great with a 2.30 GAA and save percentage of .915, but he should continue to see the majority of the starts.

Jets Start Pavelec On Sunday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will start in net Sunday against the Ducks, Ken Wiebe of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec last started Wednesday, stopping 22 of the 24 shots he faced en route to an overtime victory. He now sits at 9-8-2 on the season, and will carry a 2.21 GAA and .919 save percentage into the matchup against the Ducks.

Jets' Pavelec Gets Back Over .500

News: Ondrej Pavelec claimed his second straight victory Wednesday, stopping 22 of 24 shots before defeating the Oilers in overtime.
Analysis: The win puts Ondrej Pavelec back over .500 for the season (9-8-2), as he received just enough support from his mates to come out on top. Pavelec's overall numbers remain better than expected for the season, but with Michael Hutchinson also playing well, he's been forced to surrender more starts than usual lately. Coach Paul Maurice stated a desire to use both of his goalies at least once within every seven or eight days, which could work out to a roughly even split between the starts.

Jets' Pavelec In Line To Start Wednesday

News: Ondrej Pavelec is in line to start Wednesday against the Oilers, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: While Ondrej Pavelec has seen Michael Hutchinson eat into his duties of late, the incumbent netminder did turn in a solid outing his last time out Nov. 26 against the Sabres, stopping 19 of 20 shots in a victory. He'll get another favorable starting chance against the reeling Oilers, who have lost 10 straight games.

Jets' Pavelec Allows One In Win

News: Ondrej Pavelec stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec was impressive to start the season, but Wednesday marked his first win in his last six appearances. The Jets have been a pleasant surprise so far, and Pavelec's numbers reflect that, as he ranks 10th in the league with a 2.23 GAA.

Jets Starting Pavelec On Wednesday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will be in the net Wednesday against the Senators, Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec has performed acceptably this season with a 7-8-2 record, 2.29 GAA and .917 save percentage over 19 outings, but the phenomenal play of late by Michael Hutchinson has begun to turn the Jets' goalie situation into a timeshare. Hutchinson turned in another gem in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jackets in stopping 32 of 34 shots, so Pavelec may need to match serve against the Sabres if he hopes to earn Friday's start against the Bruins.

Jets' Pavelec In Net Sunday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will start between the pipes against the Blues on Sunday, Brian Munz of TSN reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec continues to see nearly all of the starts in net for the Jets despite allowing four goals on 27 shots Thursday against the Red Wings. He enters Sunday's matchup with a 7-7-2 record with a .919 save percentage and 2.25 GAA over 18 games.

Jets' Pavelec Suffers Loss

News: Ondrej Pavelec surrendered three goals on 28 shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blues.
Analysis: The Jets have now lost five straight with Ondrej Pavelec starting in net, picking up just a single point in that span. After a hot start, Pavelec has cooled off a bit, allowing three or more goals in each of his last three. He continues to see action in nearly all of Winnipeg's games though, so he's still a viable fantasy option going forward.

Pavelec Allows Four As Jets Lose

News: Ondrej Pavelec gave up four goals on 27 shots and blew a third-period lead in Thursday's loss to the Red Wings.
Analysis: That's four straight losses for the Jets in games Ondrej Pavelec has started, though the Czech minder received a decision in just three of those. While he was good in those first two losses, he's been pretty rough over the last two, having been pulled in the first period against Minnesota on Tuesday before Thursday's four-goal performance.

Jets Rolling With Pavelec On Thursday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will man the net Thursday against the Red Wings, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: After being pulled early his last time out Sunday against the Wild, Ondrej Pavelec was bypassed for Tuesday's starting nod, as backup Michael Hutchinson made the turn in the 3-1 victory over the Hurricanes. Pavelec is still enjoying a stellar season in the net for the Jets with a 7-6-2 record and .923 save percentage, but Hutchinson has muddled the team's goalie situation a bit by playing well when called upon. His presence may require Pavelec to turn in a quality outing against the Red Wings to prevent a timeshare in the net from emerging.

Jets' Pavelec In Net Sunday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will start in net against the Wild on Sunday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec will receive the start on back-to-back days rather than turning to Michael Hutchinson on Sunday. He saved 27 of the 29 shots he faced Saturday, but took a loss. The 27-year-old now boasts a 7-6-1 record with a .928 save percentage and 1.99 GAA.

Jets' Pavelec Pulled In Loss

News: Ondrej Pavelec allowed three goals on just 11 shots before being replaced at the first intermission of Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss against the Wild.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec was at least spared the loss, as the Jets completed a late rally to force overtime, but that's the only positive result of this outing. Still, Pavelec has been very solid this season and can chalk Sunday's performance up to starting on consecutive days.

Jets' Pavelec Gives Up Two Goals In Loss

News: Ondrej Pavelec stopped all but two of the 29 shots he faced in Saturday's loss to Nashville.
Analysis: Although Ondrej Pavelec has given up only two goals in each of his last two starts, the 27-year-old has now lost two straight games. Don't panic, though, as Pavelec has been outstanding lately, posting a .928 save percentage and 1.99 GAA on the season. Wins are hard to come by on the Jets, but considering Pavelec starts almost every game, he is proving to be a reliable fantasy option this season.

Jets' Pavelec In Net Saturday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will start in net Saturday against the Predators, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Pavelec allowed two goals on 26 shots in Tuesday's game against the Canadiens, ultimately receiving a loss despite the performance. He will get the start again Sunday, and will face a Predators squad averaging 2.50 G/GP.

Jets' Pavelec Delivers Solid Outing In Loss

News: Ondrej Pavelec stopped 24 of 26 shots Tuesday, but was stuck with a 3-0 loss at the hands of Carey Price and the Canadiens.
Analysis: If the Jets' offense were a little better, Ondrej Pavelec would be one of the best goalies in fantasy right now, but the team isn't even averaging two goals per game. However, unlike in past years, the Czech minder has been able to post strong rate stats even in losing efforts. He's posted a .914 save mark or better in six consecutive games, though he's just 3-1-2 in that span.

Jets To Start Pavelec On Tuesday

News: Ondrej Pavelec will be in the crease Tuesday against the Canadiens, Patrick Friolet of RDS reports.
Analysis: The sizzling Ondrej Pavelec will make his fourth straight start in goal for the Jets, after he was able to lower his season GAA to 1.98 following his 37-save effort in a 2-1 shootout win over the Senators on Saturday. The 27-year-old netminder owns a 4-8-1 record and .899 save percentage over 13 career games against the Canadiens.

Jets' Pavelec Enjoying Best Stretch of Career

News: Ondrej Pavelec has played some of the best hockey of his NHL career to start the 2014-2015 season. The veteran goaltender has appeared in 14 of 15 games and is 7-4-1 with a 1.98 goals against average and a .928 save percentage, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: The Jets seem to have discovered their team identity, something the organization has struggled with since returning to Winnipeg in 2011. The team has found success playing a rough and tumble brand of hockey. As a result, their team defense has been greatly improved, and their goaltenders have reaped the benefits between the pipes. However, Ondrej Pavelec has also noticeably tweaked his mechanics. As Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun notes, Pavelec is "playing deeper in his net than he did in the past" and "not kicking out nearly as many juicy rebounds" as well as being "far more economical in his movement in the crease". Whatever Pavelec is doing, it's working, as he has been one of the better goaltenders thus far this NHL season. Fantasy owners who rolled the dice on Pavelec in their preseason drafts may have very well rostered a diamond in the rough.

Jets' Pavelec: 37 Saves, Hot November Continues

News: Ondrej Pavelec's impressive November continued Saturday with a 37-save, 2-1 shootout win over Ottawa.
Analysis: He actually turned away all comers in the shootout, so this really was a remarkable turn between the pipes. He's a solid play right now.
