Flames Recall Potter

News: Corey Potter was recalled from AHL Adirondack on Wednesday, Scott Cruickshank of the Calgary Herald reports.
Analysis: Tyler Wotherspoon was unable to break into the Calgary lineup as a seventh defenseman, so he'll head back to the minors in a corresponding move in an effort to pick up more ice time. The Flames aren't nearly as keen on carving out a regular lineup spot for the 31-year-old Corey Potter, who looks to be little more than organizational depth. He'll stick with the team only as insurance in the event of an injury on the blue line.

News: Corey Potter was reassigned to AHL Adirondack on Wednesday, Scott Cruickshank of the Calgary Herald reports.
Analysis: Corey Potter had yet to log a single appearance with the Flames this season across two different stints. With no indication that he'd break into the lineup in the near future, the Flames elected to send him back to the minors, where he'll be able to pick up some more consistent ice time.

Regardless, Potter will take his spot back with the Flames, though it probably won't be for an extended period of time.

Flames Assign Potter To AHL Adirondack

News: Corey Potter was assigned to AHL Adirondack on Tuesday, Scott Cruickshank of the Calgary Herald reports.

Flames Call Up Potter

News: Corey Potter was called up from AHL Adirondack on Saturday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: The placement of Ladislav Smid (upper body) on injured reserve will open up a roster spot for Corey Potter, who the Flames had assigned to Adirondack in later October after his recovery from shoulder surgery knocked him out of training camp. He's expected to serve as a seventh defenseman during his stay with the Flames, as Smid's lineup spot will more than likely go to Raphael Diaz.

Analysis: Corey Potter has been brought along slowly after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, but it appears he is ready for game action. Bruins' Potter Sidelined

News: Corey Potter is dealing with a right arm injury, csnne.com reports.

Bruins Claim Potter On Waivers

News: The Bruins have claimed Corey Potter off waivers from the Oilers, Joe Haggerty of Comcast Sportsnet New England reports.
Analysis: The 6-foot-3, 204-pounder gives the B's some valuable blue line depth heading into the stretch run, but he's unlikely to make much of a fantasy splash in Boston after having recorded five assists and 21 PIM in 16 contests with the Oilers this season.

Oilers Place Potter On Waivers

News: Corey Potter was placed on waivers Tuesday, according to Oilers' official website.
Analysis: Could this be a sign that the Oilers are about to import some players? Possibly, as there are rumors that Sam Gagner, Ales Hemsky and Nail Yakupov could be on the move -- or it could just be that Corey Potter hasn't been all that productive.
