Jets' Tlusty Scores In Loss

News: Jiri Tlusty scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty hasn't done much offensively since being acquired by Winnipeg in late February, but has now registered a point in two straight contests. He's still locked into a third-line role at the moment. However, if his recent production is a sign of things to come, the 27-year-old may be in line for some additional ice time going forward.

Jets' Tlusty Assists In Win

News: Jiri Tlusty picked up an assist in Monday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: The 27-year-old hasn't provided much of an impact since being acquired by the Jets in late February. Over 11 games with his new team, Jiri Tlusty is still searching for his first goal and has produced only four assists and 15 shot attempts. Locked into a third-line role at the moment, Tlusty doesn't project to see much of an uptick in his offensive totals over the final stretch of the regular season.

Jets Acquire Tlusty From Hurricanes

News: The Jets acquired Jiri Tlusty from the Hurricanes on Wednesday in exchange for a 2016 third-round draft pick and a conditional 2015 sixth-round draft pick.
Analysis: The Jets were in the market for a winger after Blake Wheeler (knee) hit IR and Mathieu Perreault (lower body) suffered a likely season-ending injury, and it appears they may have found their man in Jiri Tlusty. The 26-year-old winger had managed 23 points and a minus-17 rating in 52 games with the Hurricanes, but he figures to notice improvement in both categories with the move to Winnipeg. There's a strong possibility the team will insert him in their top-six group of forwards right away, putting his fantasy value clearly on the rise.

Jets' Tlusty Could Be A Part Of Power-Play Unit

News: Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff hinted that Jiri Tlusty may get some ice time with one of the Jets' two power-play units, Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Cheveldayoff stated "He's (Jiri Tlusty) got the ability to play on the power-play, he can score some goals but there's a checking side to Jiri as well that Paul (Maurice) knows well from his time with him." Tlusty is a versatile player, and can play as a left or right winger. With Blake Wheeler (knee) and Mathieu Perreault (lower body) still recovering from injury, Tlusty's versatility, as well as his history with Jets head coach Paul Maurice from his days with the Canes and Leafs, make him a candidate to immediately slot into one of the Jets' two power-play units. Tlusty has only tallied 23 points in 52 games with the Hurricanes this season, however, he'll likely be inserted into Winnipeg's top-six group of forwards right away, and if he can see some additional ice-time on the power-play, he'll be an intriguing pickup going forward.

Canes' Tlusty Grabs Two Assists

News: Jiri Tlusty notched a pair of assists in Friday's win over Toronto.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty now has points in back-to-back games and is up to 13 goals and 23 points in 50 games on the season. While the 26-year-old is skating on the top line with Eric Staal, he's been brutally inconsistent this season, making him unappealing in shallower fantasy leagues.

Carolina's Tlusty Tallies On Tuesday

News: Jiri Tlusty scored the only goal for the Hurricanes in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty took a perfect pass from Eric Staal right in front of the net for his 13th goal this campaign. Tlusty, a former first-round pick, could reach 20 goals by the time the season winds up, but the Hurricanes are allowing too many scores while he's on the ice, as evidenced by his minus-16 rating. Tlusty's value is most apparent in deep fantasy leagues.

Canes' Tlusty Scores In Loss To Isles

News: Jiri Tlusty scored his team's only goal in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty now has 13 goals and 21 points on the season, playing on the Canes' first line alongside the Staal brothers, Eric and Jordan. If you can withstand his minus-16 rating (tied for second-worst on the team), Tlusty may be of some use to you in deeper formats.

Canes' Tlusty To Play Friday

News: Jiri Tlusty returned to practice Thursday, with coach Bill Peters confirming afterward that the forward would be available for Friday's game against the Blues, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Peters acknowledged that while Jiri Tlusty isn't quite feeling 100 percent healthy, he's in good enough condition to play through whatever it is that's ailing him. Tlusty, who has tallied 12 goals and seven assists over 40 games, figures to slot in on his usual top-line spot next to the Staal brothers.

Canes' Tlusty Takes Maintenance Day

News: Jiri Tlusty was absent from Wednesday's practice for what coach Bill Peters described as maintenance purposes.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty, who scored a goal in Tuesday's win over the Lightning, appeared to take a hard hit into the boards during the contest, resulting in a brief trip to the locker room. While Tlusty was healthy enough to return later in the contest, he's likely still experiencing soreness on some level. He's expected to return to practice Thursday and suit up for Friday's game versus the Blues.

Tlusty Scores In Win Over Bolts

News: Jiri Tlusty registered a point for the second consecutive game Tuesday against the Lightning. His third-period goal iced the game and gave the Hurricanes a 4-2 win.
Analysis: With 19 points in 40 games, Jiri Tlusty is still on track to hit the 30-point mark for the fourth consecutive season. He continues to see decent minutes on the Canes' top line alongside the Staal brother - Eric and Jordan - and provides good fantasy value in medium to deeper formats.

Two-Point Effort For Canes' Tlusty

News: Jiri Tlusty snapped a three-game scoreless skid with a power-play goal, an assist and a plus-1 rating Thursday against Buffalo. He rounded out his stat line with a pair of penalty minutes.
Analysis: These explosive efforts have come every so often from Jiri Tlusty, but it's been difficult to predict just when. He's just barely on a better scoring pace than last year's, so despite his plentiful abilities on the offensive end, it appears doubtful that this is the year Tlusty cracks 40 points.

Canes' Tlusty (Upper Body) Returns Vs. Habs

News: Jiri Tlusty (upper body) returned to the lineup Monday against Montreal, assisting on a power-play goal by Eric Staal in the third period. He saw ice time of 14:44 with four shots on goal and two hits.
Analysis: Following a seven-game absence, Jiri Tlusty spent most of the game on the Canes' third line with Victor Rask and Chris Terry. With Jordan Staal (leg) also back in the lineup, this provides some interesting line combinations for head coach Bill Peters, so Tlusty could find himself back in a top-six role in the next few games. Keep him active and monitor closely.

Canes' Tlusty (Upper Body) Expected Back Monday

News: Jiri Tlusty (upper body) is expected to return to the lineup Monday against the Canadiens, Michael Smith of the Canes' official site reports.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty resumed skating Saturday morning, opening the doors for his return to the lineup Monday. Through 28 games this season, he has scored ten goals and assisted on three more, but has a minus-11 rating. However, his return would definitely provide an upgrade in the forward ranks.

Carolina's Tlusty Resumes Skating

News: Jiri Tlusty (upper body) resumed skating Saturday morning.
Analysis: While it was good to see Jiri Tlusty back out on the ice, it doesn't look as though he'll be a lineup option for the Hurricanes on Saturday. With another day of practice, Tlusty could be ready to play when the team returns home Monday for a tilt with the Hurricanes.

Canes' Tlusty (Upper Body) Out Thursday

News: Jiri Tlusty (upper body) will not play Thursday against the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty appeared on the cusp of returning to action after he took part in pregame warmups Saturday, but he ended up being scratched for that game against the Flyers and hasn't been seen on the ice since. He'll sit out for the third straight game Thursday.

Canes' Tlusty Out Tuesday

News: Jiri Tlusty (undisclosed) didn't travel with the team to Montreal for Tuesday's game, Chip Alexander of the Charlotte News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty remained off the ice at Monday's practice due to the injury, which was enough for the Hurricanes to rule him out for a second straight contest. Justin Shugg has since been recalled from AHL Charlotte to help the Hurricanes fill out a lineup spot while Tlusty remains unavailable.

Canes Rule Tlusty Out Saturday

News: Though he took part in pregame warmups, Jiri Tlusty (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty didn't seem to be visibly limited while taking part in line rushes with his mates, but evidently the Hurricanes weren't ready to sign off on his return to the lineup. The fact that he was so close to playing suggests a multi-game absence might not necessarily be in store, but it looks like Jay Harrison will replace him in the lineup for at least one game, as the Hurricanes go with seven defensemen and 11 forwards.

Canes' Tlusty Looks Good To Go Saturday

News: Jiri Tlusty (undisclosed) was on the ice for pregame warmups and looks ready to go for Saturday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: After he was held out of practice Friday, the Hurricanes labeled Jiri Tlusty as a game-time decision for Saturday, but he seems to have erased any doubt about his availability by taking part in the pregame proceedings. Barring an unforeseen late scratch, Tlusty is slated to skate on the top line next to Eric Staal and Zach Boychuk.

Canes' Tlusty Questionable For Saturday

News: Jiri Tlusty (undisclosed) is questionable to play Saturday against the Flyers.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty must have obtained an injury in Thursday's loss to the Lightning, as he wasn't present for Friday's practice. It doesn't look like it was simply for maintenance purposes either, as coach Bill Peters acknowledged after the session that the team would go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen for Saturday's lineup if Tlusty can't go. Because the game has a 1:00 p.m. ET start time, the Hurricanes likely won't hold a morning skate, which might prevent Tlusty's status from being available until pregame warmups.

Canes' Tlusty Riding Cold Streak

News: Jiri Tlusty was held off the scoresheet for the fifth consecutive game Monday against the Devils. However, he did see 20:14 in ice time - including over three minutes on the power play - playing on the second line with Victor Rask and rookie Andrej Nestrasil.
Analysis: Even though Jiri Tlusty is no longer skating with Eric Staal on the Canes' top line, he is still seeing three minutes more in ice time per game compared to last season (18:10 vs. 15:10). Despite his current cold streak, he is still on pace for roughly 40 points this season, which would represent a career high for him. Tlusty's point production usually comes in bunches, so if you're in a deep league and can stomach the extended power outages, keep him rolling. Your patience should be rewarded by the end of the season.

Tlusty Paces Canes To Win Over Pens

News: Jiri Tlusty recorded two goals and an assist during Friday's 4-2 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty came into the game stone cold, with just two points in his previous 12 games, but found some jump to his game and paced his team to surprise win over the heavily favored Pens. Fantasy owners will want to see more of this type of effort on a regular basis from Tlusty, but it's a step in the right direction.

Offense Sputtering For Canes' Tlusty

News: Jiri Tlusty was held off the scoreboard for the third straight game during Wednesday's 1-0 loss to the Panthers. He recorded just a single shot on goal and saw just 15:53 worth of ice time.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty's season got off to a great start with a hat trick in his second game back on Oct. 11, but he's been mostly quiet since then, with just six points in his last 19 games. For now, Tlusty continues to spend most of his time on the top line with Eric Staal and Alexander Semin, however we wouldn't be surprised if he was shifted to a lower line at some point, or sat out as a healthy scratch. Overall, his value as a reliable fantasy option is in rapid decline - avoid using him if you can.

Carolina's Tlusty Bags Seventh Goal

News: Jiri Tlusty tallied the Hurricanes' lone goal in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty put Carolina on the board first when he tipped a Justin Faulk shot attempt past goalie Tuukka Rask for his seventh marker of the season. It was just the winger's second point in the month of November, spanning a total of eight games.

Carolina's Tlusty Still Set To Play Friday

News: Coach Bill Peters said after Friday's morning skate that Jiri Tlusty (head) remains on track to play against the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty did depart early during the team's morning skate, but only for final testing as part of the concussion protocol. Assuming he comes through the testing without incident, just as he had the previous couple of days, he'll likely be on track to see his usual 19 minutes of action on the Canes' top line.

Hurricanes' Tlusty Expects To Play Friday

News: Jiri Tlusty (head) expects to play Friday against the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Jiri Tlusty wore a non-contact sweater at Thursday's practice, but he was able to make it through the session without setback. A final call on Tlusty's status will be made following Friday's morning skate since he still remains under the concussion protocol, but it looks like the injury that knocked him out of Tuesday's game will not cost him any additional action.
