Vesce back up from AHL again

News: The Sharks have recalled RW Ryan Vesce from the AHL.
Analysis: Vesce has been up, down and injured this season, so hopefully he'll stick around this time. He is pretty much just organizational depth at this time and has minimal Fantasy value.

Vesce a quick recall Saturday

News: The Sports Xchange reports Sharks rookie forward Logan Couture had flu-like symtoms (H1N1 has been ruled out) following Friday night's game against Philadelphia and did not travel to Anaheim for Saturday's game. C Ryan Vesce was called up from Worcester of the AHL and suited up against the Ducks.
Analysis: Vesce picked up an assist on Saturday while playing on the team's fourth line. Coach Todd McLellan has applauded Vesce for his effort when he has been with the team, but he definitely appears as though he is more organizational depth. Vesce has little Fantasy appeal until further notice.

Vesce sent packing to AHL

News: The Sports Xchange reports Sharks C Logan Couture was recalled to replace Ryan Vesce, who was returned to Worcester of the AHL. "I like what Vess did since his call-up, which has been a month," coach Todd McLellan said. "He played extremely well when he was healthy and now coming back, he needs to play more than six or seven minutes to get his game again. And as a coach I wasn't able to get him that in the first two games, so we're going to send him to Worcester, get his legs again, get a little bit of timing down and the quality minutes that he needs. Then we'll have no problem bringing him back."
Analysis: Vesce has played in six games with San Jose this season, posting four points (three goals, one assist). He missed seven games because of a lower-body injury. Vesce was on fire before he was hit by the injury bug. While he might be back at some point, he is not worth holding onto in most Fantasy formats.

Vesce back in action Tuesday

News: San Jose RW Ryan Vesce (leg) returned to action and was removed off the IR before the game on Tuesday against the Predators.
Analysis: Vesce has three goals and one assist during a four-game point streak. However, he did all that damage on the team's top line. It will be interesting to see what he does now that he is ready to play again. Vesce is still a low-end Fantasy flier until further notice.

Vesce coming back on Tuesday

News: The San Jose Mercury News reports the Sharks expect to have both Devin Setoguchi and Ryan Vesce in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Predators. Both players have missed the last seven games with leg injuries. While Vesce had replaced Setoguchi on the top line before the injury, Setoguchi practiced with Dany Heatley and Joe Thornton on Monday and Vesce is expected to play on the fourth line with Brad Staubitz and Jody Shelley. "I feel that they will sort themselves out again," head coach Todd McLellan said. "Does Seto play well enough to keep that spot? Does Vesce play better and he gets that spot? We have to play some games now and figure out where everybody’s at."
Analysis: Vesce has three goals and one assist during a four-game point streak. However, he did all that damage on the team's top line. It will be interesting to see what he does now that he is ready to play again. Vesce is still a low-end Fantasy flier until further notice.

Vesce misses entire road trip

News: Sharks RW Ryan Vesce (leg) did not return to the lineup on Thursday against the Red Wings. He has missed six games and has been placed on injured reserve.
Analysis: Vesce has had a difficult time overcoming this "minor" leg injury. Although, San Jose has done well without Vesce, so that has allowed San Jose to be patient with his recovery. Vesce has gotten off to a fast start this season, but he is still a low-end Fantasy flier until further notice.

Vesce scratched vs. Columbus

News: Sharks RW Ryan Vesce (leg) was not back on the ice for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets. He has been out for five games and is questionable for Thursday against the Red Wings.
Analysis: The Sharks have put together a little win streak in Vesce's absence, so that is allowing the team to be patient with his recovery. That doesn't help Fantasy owners, who are wondering when Vesce will play again. Vesce has gotten off to a fast start this season, but he is still a low-end Fantasy flier until further notice.

Vesce watches again from press box

News: Sharks RW Ryan Vesce (leg) was not in the lineup on Sunday against the Hurricanes. He has been out for four games and is questionable for Wednesday against the Blue Jackets.
Consider him an injury-risk start for Week 5 (Nov. 2-8).

Vesce unable to dress Friday

News: Sharks RW Ryan Vesce (leg) did not return to the lineup on Friday against the Avalanche. He has missed the last three games and remains day to day.
Analysis: Vesce's injury is not considered serious and he is expected to travel with the team on their upcoming road trip. Vesce has gotten off to a fast start this season, but he is still a low-end Fantasy flier until further notice.

Vesce sits against the Kings

News: San Jose RW Ryan Vesce did not return Wednesday against the Kings from a leg injury. He remains questionable for Friday against Colorado.
Analysis: It seems the only thing able to slow down Vesce has been an injury. He has a point in each of his first four games, including three goals. He has been a great addition to the team's top line since his recall from the AHL. We are not sure if Vesce's hot streak will last, but he does have some sleeper value in deeper Fantasy formats. See if he returns in one of the team's next two games before making a decision on him for Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 2-8).

Vesce bitten by the injury bug

News: San Jose played without RWs Devin Setoguchi and Ryan Vesce on Sunday against the Flyers. Both players suffered leg injuries in Saturday's 4-3 win at Atlanta and are considered day to day. Assistant coach Trent Yawney told the San Jose Mercury News that neither injury was considered serious. "I know it's nothing major," he said. "Injuries do happen and it's been a long trip. Usually it doesn't matter how good your condition is, they always tend to occur at the end of road trips."
He is considered an injury-risk start for Week 4 (Oct. 26-Nov. 1).

Ryan Vesce

Vesce scores in third straight game

News: Sharks RW Ryan Vesce made it three goals in three games this season when he lit the lamp in Thursday's loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Vesce continues to produce on the top line with Dany Heatley and Joe Thornton and will certainly stick around there if he continues to score like this. Owners in all deeper leagues should be taking a real close look at Vesce right now. He was a point-per-game guy in the AHL.

Ryan Vesce

Vesce making most of top-line time

News: Sharks RW Ryan Vesce made it two goals in two games this season since being moved on to the top line in San Jose when he scored Monday in a rout of the Rangers.
Analysis: Vesce has been playing alongside Dany Heatley and Joe Thornton these last two contests and owners in deeper leagues need to take a serious look at this 27-year-old. Vesce was a point-per-game guy in the AHL last season and looks like a super-sleeper waiver wire pickup right now.

Vesce re-signs with Sharks

News: The Sharks re-signed forward Ryan Vesce to a one-year contract Thursday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "Ryan earned equity with his performance when he came up and played with us last season, but also the leadership he displayed in Worcester (AHL)," general manager Doug Wilson said.
Analysis: The 27-year-old Vesce played 10 games with San Jose last season. He totaled no points and four penalty minutes. He had 24 goals and 71 points in 67 games with Worcester. Vesce has really developed his game since spending the 2007-08 season in Finland, but he is still just organizational depth and can be ignored in Fantasy.

Analysis: Vesce, who made his NHL debut earlier this week, has 16 goals and 37 assists in 48 AHL games this season after spending 2007-08 in Finland. He has no Fantasy value at this time.

News: The Sharks signed free agent forward Ryan Vesce to a one-year contract Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Analysis: The 26-year-old Vesce spent the 2007-08 season with HIFK Helsinki of the Finnish Elite League. He had 26 goals and 44 points in 56 games. Vesce was with the Senators organization in 2006-07. He is not a recommended Fantasy option.

Senators reassigned 15 players

News: The Ottawa Senators assigned F Danny Bois, D Charlie Cook, F Andrew Ebbett, F Chanse Fitzpatrick, G Jeff Glass, G Kelly Guard, F Jeff Heerema, D Neil Komadoski, F Arttu Luttinen, F Brian Maloney, F Cory Pecker, D Neil Petruic, F Grant Potulny, F Bobby Robbins and F Ryan Vesce to Binghamton of the AHL on Tuesday.
Analysis: The Senators might call on a handful of these youngsters if injuries occur, but they are not worthy of any Fantasy consideration.
