Jackets' Johnson Finishes Postseason On Hot Note

News: Jack Johnson provided two assists in Monday's series-ending defeat to the Penguins.
Analysis: Though he'll only end up playing six games in the playoffs, Jack Johnson might end up going down as the difference-maker for those in postseason fantasy leagues. After posting 33 points in 82 games during the regular season, Johnson exploded for three goals and four assists in the six-game series. He'll return to Columbus next season to serve on the team's top pairing.

Blue Jackets' Johnson Lights The Lamp

News: Jack Johnson scored a goal in a Game 3 loss to the Penguins on Monday.
Analysis: Jack Johnson has scored a goal in every playoff game so far, and has an assist as well. This is a continuation of Johnson's solid play to end the regular season.

Jackets' Johnson Adds Goal, Assist In Loss

News: Jack Johnson collected a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: The Jackets dropped Game 1 on the road, but Jack Johnson picked up two points to move his career playoff total to 12 in 12 games. The Penguins have a tendency to give up a lot of postseason goals, so look for Johnson to continue to contribute as the series continues.

Johnson On Jackets' Scoreboard Again

News: Jack Johnson notched an assist on the lone Columbus goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Jack Johnson has three assists in his last five games, but had been a bit quiet overall in the weeks following the Olympic break. He's going to see plenty of power-play time for the average Jackets attack and should clear 30 points on the season.

Jackets' Johnson: First Point In Seven Games

News: Jack Johnson picked up an assist Saturday in a win over Minnesota. It's his first point in seven games.
Analysis: He has 26 points in 67 games. You wanted more. We expected more. Both of us are tired. Maybe the team USA brass knew something we didn't when they left this so-called stud off their Olympic team. Use him if you must, but don't expect much.

Jackets' Johnson: Three-Assist Night

News: Jack Johnson set up three goals, including one on the power play, in Saturday's win over Florida. He has four assists in two games since the Olympic break.
Analysis: He has struggled to produce decent offensive numbers in Ohio, so this is a nice little burst. We're not convinced things are truly opening up for him, but the output will be a welcome relief to owners who've been waiting on him.

Jackets' Johnson Contributing

News: Jack Johnson has four goals and 17 assists in 58 games to date.
Analysis: The blueliner has been scoring on a pretty consistent basis this season, and has even added 40 PIM. He'll look to pick up where he left off when NHL games resume.

Jackets' Johnson Raking In Assists

News: Jack Johnson assisted on two of Columbus's five goals in Friday's win over Washington, giving him five assists in the last three games.
Analysis: Jack Johnson has seen his name on the scoresheet much the last week while Columbus has found the net more often. He's the team's on-ice leader and creating more offense. He's a solid buy-low target as he is likely available in most leagues. Johnson has a track record of production and could turn around his season.

Blue Jackets' Johnson Tallies Two Assists

News: Jack Johnson picked up two assists against the Lightning on Monday.
Analysis: Jack Johnson plays a lot of minutes, but he does not bring fantasy value anymore. He only has 14 points and is a minus-8.

Jackets' Johnson Upset With Coach, USA Hockey

News: Jack Johnson, who has struggled offensively this season, was left off the Team USA roster for the upcoming Olympic Games and he's more than a little upset, reports the Columbus Dispatch. "It's over now. … Anything that's said now is empty and meaningless," said Johnson. "When I needed the belief and trust, I didn't get it, and I didn't get it when it counted from numerous people."
Analysis: One of the coaches who left Jack Johnson off the USA roster was his own coach in Columbus, Todd Richards, and Johnson clearly doesn't feel as though he got the support he deserved. Johnson is getting a lot of ice time, but hasn't really rebounded from a slow start. He does have three assists in his last seven games, but 12 points (two goals, 10 helpers) and a minus-8 rating in 45 games seriously limits his fantasy value.

Blue Jackets' Johnson Plays Well Friday

News: Jack Johnson was plus-3 with two shots on goal, three blocked shots and a hit in the Blue Jackets' win over Toronto on Friday night.
Analysis: Although he did not chip in with a goal or an assist, Jack Johnson had a strong showing while logging 21:51 on the ice -- including 3:56 with the man advantage and 3:29 on the penalty-killing unit. The offensive production has lagged early on, as Johnson has delivered three points (2 G, 1 A) over 10 games this season.

Johnson Scores Lone Jackets' Goal In Loss

News: Jack Johnson scored a power-play goal in Saturday's loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: In spite of the goal, Jack Johnson's overall production might have been at a net loss Saturday after he finished the game with a minus-3 rating. That's mostly a product of the extensive ice time he logged, an issue that won't be as glaringly apparent when the Jackets are playing against inferior competition.

Jackets' Johnson Fills Stat Sheet In Friday's Loss

News: Jack Johnson had a busy night Friday, scoring a goal and an assist, taking three shots, dishing three hits and picking up four PIMs in a 4-3 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: The second minor penalty was a killer, as he got called for interference trying to prevent an empty-net goal to snuff out any chance the Blue Jackets might have had of tying it up. Jack Johnson played a team-high 23:33 as well, and figures to be a steady presence on the Columbus blue line who'll have more value in leagues with a wider array of scoring categories.

Blue Jackets' Johnson Healthy In Camp

News: Jack Johnson, who was slowed by a groin injury, has been healthy during training camp and logged 28:02 -- including 5:09 on the power play -- in the Blue Jackets' most recent preseason game against Carolina on Wednesday.
Analysis: With an improving club around him, the chance to see steady minutes on the power play, and a solid blue-line partner in Fedor Tyutin, Jack Johnson could be primed to push back toward the 40-point level he reached with the Kings a few seasons ago over a full 82-game slate.

Blue Jackets' Johnson Not Taking Part In World Championships

News: Jack Johnson will not take part in the World Championship due to being "banged up," Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: It's unknown what exactly is ailing Jack Johnson, but he did miss a little over a week with a shoulder injury in late February, early March. He will use the time off to rest and get back to full strength.

Jackets' Johnson: First Multi-Point Game Of Season

News: Jack Johnson picked up two assists in Tuesday's win over Nashville, the first time this season he's collected multiple points in a game.
Analysis: Hard to believe, especially as he's collected a steady 14 points on the year. Jack Johnson was very active on the offensive end in this one, firing five shots on goal for the second time in three games.

Jackets' Johnson Scores Again Saturday

News: Jack Johnson scored his second goal in three games in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Red Wings.
Analysis: He's got a three-game point streak going, and seven points in his last nine games sandwiched around a shoulder injury. Jack Johnson's a plus-minus liability (minus-9 in 21 games this season) but if you need points off the blue line he's on a roll.

Blue Jackets' Johnson Returns

News: Jack Johnson (shoulder) will be available for Tuesday's game against the Oilers.
Analysis: Jack Johnson, who last suited up Feb. 23, has a solid eight points in 18 games to date, though his minus-10 rating is a drag for fantasy purposes.

Jackets' Johnson Scores In Return

News: Jack Johnson (shoulder) returned from an IR trip Tuesday against the Oilers and scored the game-tying goal in the second period in what ended up as an overtime win.
Analysis: The Jackets and fantasy owners alike will be glad to have Jack Johnson back in the lineup, as he's generally a fine offensive contributor from the blue line. He didn't skip a beat Tuesday, skating nearly 27 minutes after missing the last four games.

Jackets' Johnson Could Play Tuesday

News: Jack Johnson (shoulder) will take part in Tuesday morning's skate and could be cleared to play against the Oilers Tuesday night, the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: He's missed four games so far with the shoulder injury. With John Moore being placed on IR, there's an immediate roster spot for Jack Johnson if he's ready to play, so no further moves would be necessary.

Blue Jackets Place Johnson (Shoulder) On IR

News: Jack Johnson has been placed on IR. According to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, Johnson is dealing with a right shoulder injury.
Analysis: Jack Johnson suffered the shoulder injury during Saturday's game against the Blues. He will be further evaluated when the team returns to Columbus after Sunday's game in Chicago. Johnson ranks sixth in the NHL in Time On Ice (26:13/game). He will be replaced by center Ryan Johansen, who was recalled by the Blue Jackets on Sunday.

Jacket's Johnson Leaves With Upper-Body Injury

News: Jack Johnson left Saturday's game late in the first period with an upper-body injury, reports the Associated Press. He is listed as "day to day."
Analysis: He's among the team leaders in points (eight) and he leads the Jackets in blocks (28). There's no word on the severity, but be ready to insert someone else for next week's lineup ... just as a precaution.

Johnson On Scoresheet For Columbus

News: Jack Johnson grabbed an assist on Columbus' only goal in Friday's loss to Los Angeles, giving him three assists in the last four games.
Analysis: Jack Johnson has recovered a from a slow start and has a solid six points in 14 games despite a minus-7 rating. If you can take the plus-minus hit, Johnson is well worth a gamble considering he is the NHL's leader in total ice time, clocking in an average of 27:55 per game.

Jackets' Johnson Finds Back On The Net

News: Jack Johnson scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Wild.
Analysis: After a slow offensive start he's got two points in his last two games, and in leagues with a broader category base he's been helping out in other areas with 18 shots on goal, 13 hits and 10 blocked shots through seven games. Jack Johnson should be just fine going forward.

Jackets' Johnson Scoreless Start To Season

News: Jack Johnson has yet to tally a point so far this season.
Analysis: Jack Johnson was traded to Columbus last year, playing in 21 games while scoring 14 points for the Blue Jackets. Johnson will look to return to that scoring outburst as Columbus looks to end its four-game losing streak Monday against Dallas.
