Moller gets first point in a month

News: Kings C Oscar Moller scored in Monday's loss to the Kings, picking up his first point since Jan. 4.
Analysis: Moller, a second-round pick from 2007, is a decent prospect for the Kings, but he's currently seeing less than 10 minutes a game and is not worth worrying about in seasonal leagues at the moment.

Moller does nothing since recall

News: Kings C Oscar Moller tallied no points and finished at minus-2 in 5:07 of ice time Wednesday against the Sharks. Moller has no points in two games since his recall from the minors.
Analysis: Moller has eight goals and 18 points in 25 games with Manchester (AHL) this season. Unfortunately, he has no points in four games with Los Angeles and is still finding it tough to play in coach Terry Murray's two-way system. The 2007 second-round pick is nothing more than a long-term Fantasy keeper.

Kings call up Moller from AHL

News: The Kings have recalled C Oscar Moller from the AHL.
Analysis: Moller is a second-round pick from 2007 who has shown nice offensive talent since joining the NHL. He might not be up for long on this trip, as he could just be filling in for healthy scratch Alexander Frolov, so don't worry about him in seasonal leagues, but he remains a nice long-term Fantasy keeper.

Moller has two points since recall

News: Kings C Oscar Moller tallied an assist and finished at even in 14:17 of ice time Friday against the Canucks. It was his second point in five games since returning from the minors.
Analysis: Moller spent most of the new year on IR while recovering from a broken collarbone suffered in the world junior championships. He then had to spend some time in the minors on a conditioning assignment. He is back now, but still not a top offensive player for Los Angeles. Moller has more appeal in long-term Fantasy keeper leagues than seasonal formats.

Kings assign two to Manchester

News: The Los Angeles Daily News reports the Kings sent forward Oscar Moller to Manchester of the AHL Sunday for a two-week conditioning assignment. Davis Drewiske will also join Moller down in the AHL, but he was assigned there by the Kings.
Analysis: Moller just returned from a month-long stay on IR because of a broken clavicle and needs some time to get back into game shape. He will be back with the Kings, but is still best kept in long-term keeper leagues. Drewiske, on the other hand, has little to no Fantasy value as organizational depth.

News: The L.A. Daily News reports that Kings C Oscar Moller has been sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment.

Moller off IR, scratched

News: The Los Angeles Daily News reports the Kings have opted to keep their current lineup in tact, so despite Oscar Moller being recovered from a broken clavicle, he was a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Islanders.
Analysis: The Kings have had a lot of success lately with their current configuration, so coach Terry Murray doesn't want to mess with success. Moller is expected to join the lineup at some point, but is still not at the top of his game. He is best utilized in long-term Fantasy keeper leagues until further notice.

Moller suffered fractured clavicle on Dec. 31 while playing for Sweden in the World Junior Championships.

Moller doesn't return on Saturday

News: Kings C Oscar Moller was unable to return to action against the Devils on Saturday even though it was a possibility that he could return to action. The Kings' next game is on Tuesday at the Islanders. He has been out since getting hurt in the World Junior Championships.
Analysis: The Kings are anxious to get the 2007 second-round pick active. "He has played well," Murray said. "He brings an offensive element to the game. He's not an impact player for our team right now, but he can complement a line and he can play well on the power play. He has good composure and imagination on the power play. I don't see it at the level where you put a player back in and there's going to be a huge bounce." Moller had six goals and seven assists for the Kings before getting injured, but is still not at the top of his game. He is best utilized in long-term Fantasy keeper leagues until further notice.

Moller might return Saturday

News: The Los Angeles Daily News reports Kings coach Terry Murray said injured forward Oscar Moller, who has been out since early January after getting hurt in the World Junior Championships, is making progress with his injured shoulder and might play Saturday against the Devils barring a setback. "I don't say that to be absolute, but he's doing well," Murray said. "He's doing all the extra stuff after practice, all the battles on the boards and all the 1-on-1 stuff we do to test the shoulder. He's coming out of all that feeling good. He went back at it (Thursday) after the morning skate. I have a sense that he's close to 100 percent. We'll have a real good feel for it after tomorrow's practice."
Analysis: The Kings are anxious to get the 2007 second-round pick active. "He has played well," Murray said. "He brings an offensive element to the game. He's not an impact player for our team right now, but he can complement a line and he can play well on the power play. He has good composure and imagination on the power play. Moller could be back soon

News: According to The Sports Xchange, Kings RW Oscar Moller missed a ninth consecutive game with a shoulder injury on Saturday against the Canadiens but could return to the lineup early next week. Moller suffered a fractured clavicle on Dec. 31 while playing for Sweden in the World Junior Championships. Moller was placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 7
Analysis: Moller is a pretty decent prospect in the Kings' lineup but isn't yet ready to make an impact in the NHL. Even if he does come back this week, keep him out of your lineup until he proves himself at the NHL level.

Moller talks about injured shoulder

News: The Sports Xchange reports a bit of the mystery surrounding Kings rookie winger Oscar Moller's shoulder injury got resolved Saturday. Moller injured his shoulder on Dec. 31 while playing for Sweden in the World Junior Championships. He had to leave that game in the second period but returned to play the final two games of the tournament. Only when Moller returned to the Kings this week did he have X-rays, which revealed a fractured clavicle. The circumstances raised the question of why Swedish officials didn't X-ray Moller's shoulder. "I thought it was an old injury that I had before and just hurt again," Moller said. "I thought I was fine, because I thought I knew what it was. So I thought, 'I can play with this,' and they just taped me up. ... We didn't think about it as a fracture. They just thought it was an old injury."
Analysis: Moller is scheduled to be evaluated again after the All-Star break. Moller wasn't having a lot of offensive success before he left for the world juniors. He had just 13 points in 30 games and was averaging less than 14 minutes per game. He still has a lot to learn on the NHL level, so the rookie forward has marginal Fantasy appeal when healthy.

Moller out with broken collarbone

News: Kings rookie C Oscar Moller, who helped Team Sweden win a silver medal at the world junior hockey championships, was scratched Thursday against the Ducks because of a fractured clavicle that didn't prevent him from playing in Monday night's title game. He is not expected back until after the All-Star break in late January.

News: The L.A. Daily News reports that Kings C Oscar Moller, who picked up a silver medal in the World Junior Championships over the weekend, should return to the NHL ice on Thursday.
Analysis: Moller has six goals and seven assists this season, and remains more of a long-term keeper option than anything. Continue to ignore him in seasonal formats.

Moller adds pair of assists

News: Kings C Oscar Moller had two assists in Friday's game against Edmonton. He has points in back-to-back games after also scoring a goal in his previous game against Phoenix.
Analysis: Despite back-to-back productive games, Moller is not a reliable Fantasy option in the big picture. He has five goals and seven assists this season and is averaging just 14 minutes of ice time. Leave him on the waiver wire in most leagues.

Moller returns from flu with assist

News: Kings C Oscar Moller was back on the ice Thursday against the Stars after missing one game with the flu. He had an assist in 11:55 of ice time and finished at plus-1. He now has an assist in his last two games.
Analysis: Moller now has eight points in his first 14 NHL games. He was surprise addition to the roster coming out of training camp and it was even a bigger surprise when Los Angeles opted to keep him around instead of sending him back to junior hockey. He has done well thus far, but Moller still remains a low-end Fantasy option.
