Canes Ink Terry To One-Year Deal

News: Chris Terry signed a one-year, $875,000 deal with the Hurricanes on Thursday, TSN's Frank Seravalli reports.
Analysis: Chris Terry provided the Canes with career-bests in games played (57) and total points (20) in the 2014-15 season, proving to Carolina that the he was worth keeping around another year. He'll look to take another leap forward in his age-26 season.

Two Points For Canes' Terry

News: Chris Terry scored one of the Hurricanes' goals and assisted on the other Tuesday in a 3-2 loss to Detroit.
Analysis: At the time, Chris Terry's 11th goal and 20th point of the year gave Carolina a 2-1 lead late in the second period, but the 'Canes were unable to hold on. It was no fault of Terry's, though, as he finished plus-2 on the evening. He owns only 20 points on the season, but Terry's been fairly productive of late, having notched six of those in the last seven games.

Canes' Terry Spoils Panthers' Shutout Bid

News: Chris Terry's goal with 1:19 remaining in the third period went down as the Hurricanes' lone tally of the night in a 6-1 loss to the Panthers on Thursday.
Analysis: The tally was largely inconsequential with the Panthers in command of the match, but it nonetheless extends Chris Terry's point streak to four games. A frequent healthy scratch this season, Terry has probably solidified a spot in the lineup at this point, but given his modest overall production (10 goals, eight assists in 52 games), it's hard to imagine him delivering much more value the rest of the way.

Carolina's Terry Gets Two Points

News: Chris Terry chipped in a goal and an assist Thursday against the Stars, finishing plus-2 despite the 'Canes taking a 5-3 loss.
Analysis: A nice game for Chris Terry on a night when most of his teammates had bad games, but performances like this have been too few and far between for the talented winger, who'll turn 26 next month.

Canes' Terry Contributes In Win Over Isles

News: Chris Terry recorded an assist during Saturday's 5-3 win over the Islanders. It was his first game back in the lineup after missing the previous four contests as a healthy scratch.
Analysis: With 11 points in 38 games, Chris Terry has been fairly productive when he's been in the lineup, but given that he's frequently watching from the press box, it's hard to recommend him. When he does play, he typically sees fourth-line minutes of 10-12 minutes per game, which is a further drag on his fantasy value. Go with another option if you have one.

Canes' Terry Watching From Press Box

News: Chris Terry has been a healthy scratch the past three games.
Analysis: The Hurricanes currently have no injuries to any of their regular forwards, which makes Chris Terry the odd man out. He has just nine points in 35 games this season, and does not make for a good fantasy option in most standard formats - especially while he's watching from the bench.

Terry Back Into Canes' Lineup

News: Chris Terry played for the second consecutive game Monday against Toronto after sitting out four straight contests as a healthy scratch. He had a single shot on goal along with a pair of hits in 12:00 of ice time.
Analysis: Chris Terry is really more of a depth forward for the 'Canes this season, and he often watches from the press box unless one of the team's regulars is injured or otherwise unavailable. At the present time, he offers little to no fantasy value outside of very deep leagues.

Hurricanes' Terry Called Up, Will Start Monday

News: Chris Terry was recalled from his conditioning sting and will play Monday against the Devils, Mike Maniscalco of WRAL Sports reports.
Analysis: Chris Terry will take the lineup spot of Alexander Semin, who will sit out with an undisclosed injury. Terry, who tallied four goals and three assists in 17 games earlier this season, will skate on the Hurricanes' third line Monday night.

Hurricanes Send Terry On Conditioning Stint

News: The Hurricanes assigned Chris Terry to AHL Charlotte on Tuesday on a conditioning stint.
Analysis: Chris Terry tallied just two points in his last 12 games and was facing a drop in ice time, so the Hurricanes decided to assign him to Charlotte to give him a chance to continue playing.

Carolina's Terry To Be Scratched Saturday

News: Chris Terry will be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Capitals, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Chris Terry was one of the Hurricanes' only offensive threats early in the season with three goals and five points over his first five games, but he's struggled to deliver much production since that time. With the Hurricanes playing their second game in as many days, it appears coach Bill Peters is simply looking to give Terry a maintenance day. Brad Malone will replace him in the lineup.

Canes' Terry Picks Up Two Points

News: Chris Terry added a goal and an assist in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Kings.
Analysis: Chris Terry has gotten off to a good start, now with four goals and three assists on the season. Sunday's goal came on the power play, and while seeing some time with the man advantage will present more scoring opportunities going forward, it's difficult to envision high fantasy value skating on the team's fourth line even strength.

Carolina's Terry Gets On Board Again

News: Chris Terry scored a goal on his only shot for the second straight game Thursday against the Rangers.
Analysis: He's got three goals and an assist despite having taken just four shots in four games this season. That's one heck of a scoring rate. Chris Terry's starred in the AHL for years, but is really just breaking into the NHL for the first time now, and the early returns are good.

Terry Impressing Early For 'Canes

News: Chris Terry picked up a goal, an assist, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's shootout loss to Buffalo. He also scored a shootout goal.
Analysis: Chris Terry's off to a strong start this year despite seeing very limited ice time, and producing this much despite such a small role could help him move up in the lineup. He's not really a prospect anymore at age 25, but Terry's been a major producer at the AHL level and has earned an opportunity to carve out a significant role with the Hurricanes. He'll do just that if he keeps finding ways to put up points.

Canes' Terry (Groin) To Play Tuesday

News: Chris Terry (groin) will play in Tuesday's preseason game against St. Louis, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: It sounds like the groin injury that kept Chris Terry off the ice earlier in camp wasn't overly serious. Chances are he will see a game or two of preseason game action before getting sent down to the minors.

Canes' Terry Out With Groin Injury

News: Chris Terry sat out Thursday's practice with a groin injury, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Chris Terry is competing for a job on one of the Canes' checking lines this season, after spending most of the last two years playing for the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. He is considered more of a depth player at this stage of his career, and is expected to open the season back in the minors once he's healthy.

Hurricanes Re-Sign Terry

News: Chris Terry re-signed with the Hurricanes on a one-year, two-way contract Tuesday.
Analysis: The 25-year-old appeared in 10 games for the Hurricanes last season, accumulating two assists and scoring a game-winning shootout goal against the Wild in a Nov. 15 game. While at AHL Charlotte, he assumed the brunt of the team's scoring scoring burden, ranking first in assists (41) and second in goals (28). With seemingly nothing left to prove in the minors, Chris Terry could be in the mix for a more permanent stay with the Hurricanes during the upcoming campaign.

Hurricanes Assign Terry To AHL Charlotte

News: The Hurricanes assigned Chris Terry to AHL Charlotte on Friday.
Analysis: Chris Terry was called up earlier in the week to provide some forward depth, but he will head back to Charlotte with a couple injured Hurricanes forwards likely to return for the team's next game Saturday. He at least contributed two assists in Thursday's game against the Stars.

News: The Hurricanes have assigned Chris Terry to AHL Charlotte, the team's official site reports.

Canes Call Up Terry

News: Chris Terry was called up by the Canes from AHL Charlotte on Monday, Michael Smith of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Chris Terry played in seven games for Carolina back in November, where he took 11 shots and failed to produce a point. He'll likely see just a minor role.

Hurricanes Send Terry To Charlotte

Canes Call Up Terry

News: Chris Terry has been called up from the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL and is now with the Canes, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Chris Terry has been called up to fill Elias Lindholm's spot on the roster after he was demoted to the AHL. Last season in the NHL, Terry averaged a little under 10 minutes of ice time per game.

Canes Reassign Terry

News: Chris Terry was assigned to the AHL on Friday.
Analysis: Chris Terry scored a goal in his first NHL appearance on March 9, but he was otherwise quiet in the other two games. He averaged a little less than 10 minutes of ice time per game.

Canes' Terry Scores Winner In NHL Debut

News: Chris Terry had a memorable NHL debut Saturday. He played 14:03, fired one shot and scored the game-winning goal in a 6-3 win over the Devils.
Analysis: The only thing that would have made it better for the young man would have been to have scored it against Martin Brodeur, but the future Hall-of-Famer was on the shelf. Don't rush to snag him -- we don't know how long he'll stay with the big club.

Canes' Terry Recalled From AHL

News: Chris Terry has been recalled from AHL Charlotte, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Chris Terry leads his team with 46 points in 55 games this season. This transaction marks Terry's first recall to the NHL since he turned pro in 2009.
