Hurricanes Re-Sign Terry

News: Chris Terry re-signed with the Hurricanes on a one-year, two-way contract Tuesday.
Analysis: The 25-year-old appeared in 10 games for the Hurricanes last season, accumulating two assists and scoring a game-winning shootout goal against the Wild in a Nov. 15 game. While at AHL Charlotte, he assumed the brunt of the team's scoring scoring burden, ranking first in assists (41) and second in goals (28). With seemingly nothing left to prove in the minors, Chris Terry could be in the mix for a more permanent stay with the Hurricanes during the upcoming campaign.

Canes' Terry Scores Winner In NHL Debut

News: Chris Terry had a memorable NHL debut Saturday. He played 14:03, fired one shot and scored the game-winning goal in a 6-3 win over the Devils.
Analysis: The only thing that would have made it better for the young man would have been to have scored it against Martin Brodeur, but the future Hall-of-Famer was on the shelf. Don't rush to snag him -- we don't know how long he'll stay with the big club.

Terry signs with Hurricanes

News: The Hurricanes have signed LW Chris Terry to an entry-level contract. Carolina drafted Terry in the fifth round (132nd pick) in the 2007 NHL draft.
Analysis: The 20-year-old Terry was the OHL's (juniors) second-leading scorer in 2008-09 with 94 points (39 games). He played for Plymouth. The Ontario native totaled 114 goals and 175 assists (289 points) in 253 regular-season contests in four seasons with the Whalers. Terry is one of the Hurricanes' top-10 prospects, but is likely ticketed for the minors in 2009-10 unless he wows management. Terry is nothing more than a long-term Fantasy keeper.
