Avs ink Williams to entry-level deal

News: The Avalanche signed defenseman Nigel Williams to an entry-level on Monday. Williams, 20, helped the Belleville Bulls (OHL) to the Memorial Cup in 2007-08. "Nigel finished the year strong, helping his team get to the Memorial Cup," Avalanche Vice President of Hockey Operations Craig Billington told NHL.com. "He participated in our development camp, and after two solid seasons at the junior level, we feel he is ready to take that next step in his development."
Analysis: Williams was the Avalanche's second-round pick in 2006. He had 15 goals and 46 points in 67 games last season, splitting time between Belleville and Saginaw. The 6-4, 226-pound had 18 points (seven goals) in 21 postseason games with Belleville. Williams is not expected to break camp with Colorado and can be ignored in Fantasy until further notice.
