Subban Helps Out As Habs Avoid Sweep

News: P.K. Subban contributed two assists, a plus-2 rating and three shots on goal to Thursday's Game 4 rout of the Lightning.
Analysis: After notching a goal and three points in the first two games of the Habs' first-round series against Ottawa, P.K. Subban had gone quiet, picking up just two assists while going minus-3 over the next seven games -- not exactly an elite playoff performance. With his team's back to the wall in an elimination game, he delivered; he'll need to bring that same desperation to the ice Saturday as the Habs look to avoid seeing their season end on home ice.

Habs' Subban A Norris Finalist

News: P.K. Subban was named as one of the three finalists for the Norris Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL's top defenseman, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: P.K. Subban joins Ottawa's Erik Karlsson and Los Angeles' Drew Doughty as the three blue-liners being considered. Subban won the award in 2013.

Habs' Subban Assists On Empty-Netter

News: P.K. Subban assisted on an empty-net goal by Max Pacioretty in Sunday's Game 6 series win against the Senators.
Analysis: P.K. Subban hurt the Senators with one goal and three assists in the opening round. The defender was a popular name in the fantasy realm to begin with, but coming off a 60-point campaign in the regular season only solidifies Subban's status as point-producing machine.

Habs' Subban Scores In Game Win

News: P.K. Subban blasted home his first goal of the playoffs in Friday's Game 2 win over Ottawa.
Analysis: A monster outing from P.K. Subban, who also finished with five shots on goal. After getting kicked out of Game 1 for a slash on Mark Stone, Subban ditched the rough stuff in Game 2 and led with his offense. When he's on top of his game, the 25-year-old is one of the best offensive defenseman around.

Habs' Subban Will Play In Game 2

News: P.K. Subban will not face any further discipline for his slash on Ottawa's Mark Stone in Wednesday's Game 1 victory, according to theScore.
Analysis: P.K. Subban was given a five-minute major and game misconduct for the slash. While many have been debating that was too severe a penalty in itself, the Habs did go on to win and now they'll have their best defender back for Game 2, which is Friday in Montreal.

Habs' Subban Ejected

News: P.K. Subban was given a five-minute major and game misconduct for slashing Ottawa's Mark Stone midway through the second period of Montreal's 4-3 win in Game 1 of the their playoff series. We'll be waiting word on whether the league metes out additional punishment.
Analysis: To that point, P.K. Subban had two assists, but his five minute penalty gave the Sens a power play on which they scored twice.

Habs' Subban Hits 60 Points

News: P.K. Subban gathered two assists -- one on the power play -- in Thursday's 4-3 win over Detroit.
Analysis: He's clipping along quite nicely as the regular season comes to a close, having collected eight points in the last six games. P.K. Subban should be a valuable asset for playoff poolies, as he's got to be considered a strong contender for the Norris Trophy this year.

Habs' Subban Involved Offensively

News: P.K. Subban had a goal and two assists in Thursday night's 5-4 shootout loss to the Capitals. He's registered five points in the previous three games.
Analysis: P.K. Subban played well on both ends, also contributing three blocked shots and three hits on a night when Montreal's defense played much better than the score indicated.

News: P.K. Subban tallied a power-play goal in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: P.K. Subban also skated for a game-high 27:42 worth of ice time in the contest -- well up from his season average of 26:08. He'll end March with just six points, marking a season-low for the defenseman, but the goal was good enough to establish a new career-best point total of 54.

Habs' Subban Wins It

News: P.K. Subban scored the game-winner in Tuesday night's 3-2 win over Florida. It was Subban's first goal in 10 games.
Analysis: P.K. Subban had set a blistering pace in the month of February, but cooled some when March hit. He now has points in three of the previous four games and needs just one goal and one point to match his career-best marks in those categories.

Habs' Subban Picks Up Power-Play Assist

News: P.K. Subban gathered a power-play assist in Monday's loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: After a 15-point February, P.K. Subban has been much quieter thus far in March, collecting no goals, three assists, and only 12 shots on net in eight games. The decline in productivity shouldn't prompt fantasy owners to stick him on their bench just yet, but he'll need to turn it around quickly with the fantasy playoffs approaching.

Habs' Subban Dominates In Win

News: P.K. Subban scored his 12th goal of the year, added two assists, and went a whopping plus-5 in Thursday's 5-2 win over Columbus.
Analysis: Yep, he was on the ice for all five Montreal goals and neither of the Jackets'. Before this night, P.K. Subban hadn't scored a goal in more than a month, dating back to the game before the All-Star break, but he nonetheless has tallied a spectacular 11 points in his last eight games.

Subban Helps Out In Habs' Win

News: P.K. Subban tallied two assists -- one with the man advantage -- went plus-1 and gathered four PIM during Tuesday's victory in St. Louis.
Analysis: After taking one game off from the scoresheet, P.K. Subban jumped right back on, and he now has eight points -- all assists -- over his last seven games. He hasn't scored a goal since the game before the All-Star break, but Subban is certainly still finding ways to contribute for his fantasy owners.

Montreal's Subban Plays 30 Minutes

News: P.K. Subban, who was a little gimpy after taking a shot off the right foot Wednesday night, skated 30:28 in Thursday night's 3-2 shootout loss to Florida. He had an assist to extend his point streak to five games.
Analysis: P.K. Subban, who saw more than a half hour of ice time for the third time in the past four games, has six assists in the past five games. The Canadiens are down two blueliners -- Alexei Emelin and Sergei Gonchar are sidelined with upper-body injuries -- so they need P.K. to gut it out. The Habs next play Saturday night in Columbus.

News: P.K. Subban (leg) will take pregame warmups, and he is expected to play in Thursday's game against the Panthers, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
Analysis: P.K. Subban left Wednesday's game against the Senators after blocking a shot, but he returned to finish out the contest shortly thereafter. While he doesn't seem to be in much danger of missing Thursday's game, the Habs may want to see how Subban feels during warmups.

Habs' Subban Sucks Up Ice Time

News: P.K. Subban played a career-high 35:21 in Saturday night's 2-1 shootout win over Toronto. He had an assist, two blocked shots and three shots on goal.
Analysis: The Canadiens lost Sergei Gonchar (upper body) for the game after he was hit by Toronto's David Clarkson while in a vulnerable position, and then lost Nathan Beaulieu for 17 minutes after he responded to the Clarkson hit. P.K. Subban earned himself the comfy seat on the airplane Sunday when the team heads to Detroit for a game Monday.

Habs' Subban Collects Two Helpers In Defeat

News: P.K. Subban had two assists, but also went minus-2 Thursday in a 4-3 overtime loss to Edmonton.
Analysis: At least he was in the middle of the action -- although the middle of the action in this case means being on the ice for all four of the Oilers' goals. P.K. Subban has five assists in his last four games because he's had a couple multi-point outings, but he's missed the scoresheet in five of his last eight outings and hasn't scored a goal since the All-Star break.

News: P.K. Subban (illness) will be available for Friday's game against the Kings, John Lu of TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: The illness kept P.K. Subban out of practice a day earlier, but he looked to be fine while skating prior to Friday's morning session. Look for the stalwart defenseman to play close to his usual 25 minutes versus Los Angeles.
