Flyers Ink White To One-Year, Two-Way Contract

News: Ryan White signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Flyers on Friday.
Analysis: Ryan White played 52 games with the Canadiens last season, posting two goals and four assists with the club along with 50 penalty minutes. He will likely slide in at center and battle for a spot on one of the bottom two lines for the Flyers.

Habs' White Replaces Prust

News: Ryan White replaced the injured Brandon Prust (upper body) as the fourth-line center in Thursday night's game against Columbus. He finished with one shot, two hits and two penalty minutes in 9:04 of ice time in a 3-2 loss.
Analysis: Ryan White hadn't played in a little over a week while the Habs' active lineup remained static through a three-game winning streak.

Canadiens' White Out With Flu Thursday

News: Ryan White (illness) will not play Thursday against the Penguins, Ren Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Habs' White Scores Again

News: Ryan White scored a goal for the second consecutive game and later assisted on one in Saturday night's 4-1 win over Carolina.
Analysis: Ryan White has been a ball of energy since returning from an upper body and has helped provide some offensive pressure from the Habs' fourth line. It's not a good time for the Olympic break for White, who's playing his best hockey of the season.

Canadiens' White Snaps 56-Game Goal Drought

News: In his second game back from injury, Ryan White scored his first goal of the season in the first period Thursday against the Canucks.
Analysis: An agitating, checking forward, Ryan White doesn't find the scoresheet often. His first goal of the season ends a 56-game drought, which dates back to January 2013. White's fantasy value remains primarily in his penalty minutes, not his offensive production. In 26 games with Montreal last year he scored just one goal. He has three points in 35 games this season.

Canadiens' White Returns

News: Ryan White returned to the lineup Tuesday night after missing 14 games due to an upper-body injury. He had a team-high six shots on goal, blocked two shots and had two hits in 13:55 in a 2-0 win over the Flames.
Analysis: Ryan White, who hadn't played since Jan. 2, centered the fourth line, a unit that played well and were given regular shifts. White typically does not get this much ice time.

Analysis: Ryan White hasn't played since suffering the injury Jan. 2. He centered the fourth line during Tuesday's morning skate, flanked by Michael Bournival and the newly acquired Dale Weise.

Habs' White Still Weeks Away

News: Ryan White (upper body) is still weeks away from a return to the active lineup, according to coach Michel Therrien, the Montreal Gazette reports.

Habs' White Out For Two Weeks

News: Ryan White is expected to miss two weeks with an upper body injury, TSN's John Lu reports.
Analysis: Ryan White left last Thursday's game with the upper-body injury and missed Saturday's game as a result. The exact nature of the injury is uncertain but it will keep him out of action for a couple weeks. A placement on IR is likely to happen to clear an extra roster spot for the Canadiens.

Habs' White Likely Out Saturday

News: Ryan White (upper body) is not expected to play Saturday vs. the Senators, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Ryan White is still tending to the injury that forced him to leave Thursday's game against Dallas, so Daniel Briere is expected to reenter the lineup in his place Saturday. It's unclear when White might return to action.

Habs' White Exits With Upper Body Injury

News: Ryan White left Thursday's game with an upper-body injury and will not return, NHL.com's Arpon Basu reports.
Analysis: Perhaps more information will be available after the game, but either way, Ryan White's absence shouldn't have a huge impact on the Habs. The 25-year-old center is averaging 9:56 of ice time per game, and he's scored just two points (no goals) through 32 appearances.

Canadiens' White Active And Effective

News: Ryan White was in the active lineup Saturday after being a healthy scratch in three of the past four games. He had an assist and three hits in 12:53 in a win over the Sabres.
Analysis: It was just the second point of the season for Ryan White, the fourth-liner who's been in and out of the lineup all season. The entire fourth line were the stars of this game, with each player receiving more than double-digit minutes of even-strength time. Brandon Prust (goal, assist) and Travis Moen (two assists) also got on the score sheet.

Canadiens' White Will Skate Saturday

News: Ryan White will re-enter the active lineup for Saturday night's game against Vancouver, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: Ryan White will step in for captain Brian Gionta, who has returned to Montreal for family reasons. He'll skate on the fourth line with Travis Moen and Michael Bournival.

Canadiens' White Activated

News: Ryan White was activated Saturday night and played 7:40 in Montreal's win over Philadelphia. He finished with one shot, one blocked shot, three hits and seven minutes in penalties.
Analysis: Ryan White was given a jersey because of injuries prevented George Parros (concussion) and Max Pacioretty (arm) from playing. He'll be a fourth-liner whenever active and is likely to help out in fantasy leagues that award PIM.

Habs' White Scores Game Winner

News: Ryan White notched the game-winner Monday night in Montreal's 3-2 preseason win over New Jersey.
Analysis: Ryan White appears to be a lock as the fourth line center as we enter the 2013-14 season. The Canadiens are still figuring out their fourth line, with White, Brandon Prust, Travis Moen, George Parros and Michael Bournival all in the mix. Injuries may dictate which combination opens the season there.

Canadiens' White Cut By Stick

News: Ryan White left a team scrimmage Thursday after getting clipped by a stick over his right eye, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: He was back on the ice Friday after receiving seven stitches to close the cut, the Hockey Inside Out blog reports.

Habs' White Re-Signs With Montreal

News: Ryan White agreed to a one-year, $700,000 contract with Montreal on Saturday, TSN reports.
Analysis: The new deal allows Ryan White to avoid salary arbitration. White suffered a punctured lung in last season's playoffs, but the injury isn't expected to impact him long term. He had one goal and no assists in 26 games last year with 67 penalty minutes.

Habs' White Suffered Punctured Lung In Game 3

News: Ryan White suffered a punctured lung during Sunday's Game 3 against the Senators, but the problem was resolved and it was possible for him to return in the playoffs, Renaud Lavoie of RDS.ca reports.
Analysis: The injury kept Ryan White from the final two games of the Habs' first-round series, which Ottawa wrapped up with a win Thursday. He won't be playing again this season, obviously, with his team out of the playoff picture, but he was apparently fine less than a week after suffering the injury, so it's not something that could jeopardize White's status for the start of next year.

Canadiens' White Out Thursday

News: Ryan White (upper body) will not play in Thursday's game against the Senators.
Analysis: Ryan White sat out Tuesday's game with the upper body injury, and he will miss his second straight game Thursday. It remains to be seen if he will miss any further action beyond Thursday.

Habs' White Sidelined Tuesday

News: Ryan White (upper body) won't play Tuesday against the Senators, RDS's Renaud Lavoie reports.
Analysis: Through the first three games of the Habs' series against the Sens, Ryan White -- who was injured at the end of the second period of Sunday's game -- has a goal to go along with 23 PIM.

Canadiens' White Scores In Game 2

News: Ryan White scored Montreal's first goal Friday night in the Canadiens' 3-1 win over the Senators in Game 2 of this first-round playoff series.
Analysis: Ryan White's an unlikely source of scoring, but then again, he was an unlikely addition to the active lineup. He's played in both games of the series so far and aside from Friday's goal, he's compiled seven hits, two blocked shots, three shots and six minutes in penalties.
