Flyers' Giroux Ripping It Up With Four-Point Night

News: Claude Giroux scored two goals and added two assists in Saturday's win over the Leafs.
Analysis: He has 39 points in 32 games and that includes 13 in his last 10. He only has 10 goals so far, but his shooting percentage is way down (6.6 percent) relative to the average (11.5). More goals are about to come. Enjoy the ride.

Another Two Points For Flyers' Giroux

News: Claude Giroux notched a pair of assists in Saturday's win over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Another game, another two points for the Flyers captain, who now has seven points over a five-game point streak. He's up to 34 points in 28 games and makes quite the formidable one-two punch with linemate Jake Voracek, who has 37 points of his own.

Flyers' Giroux Helps Out

News: Claude Giroux notched a couple assists -- one on a power-play goal, the other on an empty-netter -- in Thursday's win over the Devils.
Analysis: He continues to roll up points (especially assists) with regularity -- health permitting, Claude Giroux has a highly legitimate chance at hitting 90 points for the second time in his career. His current 82-game pace would land him at 93, tying his career high from 2011-12.

Flyers' Giroux Grabs Assist In Loss

News: Claude Giroux collected his 21st assist in Wednesday's shootout loss to Anaheim.
Analysis: Those 21 assists are a few shy of teammate and league-leader Jakub Voracek, but still good enough for third in the league. While Claude Giroux has 28 points on the season, he's only topped two points in one game. He seems due for a huge game, but he's a start regardless.

Flyers' Giroux Adds Goal, Assist In Loss

News: Claude Giroux notched a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Red Wings.
Analysis: Despite a disappointing start to the season for his team, Claude Giroux and linemate Jakub Voracek continue to rack up points. Giroux's 19 assists are the third most in the league, and his 26 points rank him sixth.

Flyers' Giroux Gets Two Assists, On 100-Point Pace

News: Claude Giroux picked up two assists in Saturday's win over Columbus.
Analysis: He has 24 points in 19 games, a pace that would see him come close to a 100-point season. And that's not even enough to lead his team (Jakub Voracek has the bead on that one). Still, we like what we see, and he's a mandatory activation in our eyes.

Flyers' Giroux Nabs Goal In Win

News: Claude Giroux potted his sixth goal of the season in Thursday's loss to the Wild.
Analysis: Claude Giroux shook off any worries that the lower-body injury he suffered earlier this week would limit him, firing off seven shots in his 22 minutes of ice time. Continue deploying the star winger as you normally would.

Flyers' Giroux Appears Healthy

News: Claude Giroux (lower body) recorded four shots in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Claude Giroux was expected to miss Wednesday's game after blocking a shot in practice, but ended up being just fine. The fact that he skated 25:45 TOI suggests that he was not limited at all by the injury, and should be considered fully healthy moving forward.

Flyers' Giroux (Lower Body) To Play Wednesday

News: Claude Giroux (lower body) will play Wednesday against the Rangers.
Analysis: Girioux appeared ready to suit up after taking rushes in pre-game warmups, and here's the official confirmation. With 21 points already racked up on the season, it would be wise to get Claude Giroux in any lineups if it's not too late.

Flyers' Giroux Skating In Pre-Game Warmups

News: Claude Giroux (lower body) is on the ice for pre-game warmups, The Record's Andrew Gross reports.
Analysis: Claude Giroux is expected to go through warmups, and depending on how he feels, coach Craig Berube will make a final decision on his playing status. He's not officially set to play just yet, but appears to be trending in the right direction.

Flyers' Giroux Could Play Wednesday

News: Claude Giroux (lower body) could play Wednesday against the Rangers, Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com reports.
Analysis: The expectation was that Claude Giroux would miss two games after suffering a lower-body injury during Monday's practice, but coach Craig Berube said Giroux will go through warmups Wednesday and if he feels fine, he'll play. Considering Giroux's production to date (5G, 16A), most owners will likely want to monitor his status and include him in their lineup if active.

Flyers' Giroux Expected To Miss Next Two Games

News: Claude Giroux suffered a lower-body injury during Monday's practice and will likely miss the Flyers' next two games. "I believe it will be days as opposed to weeks," said general manager Ron Hextall, regarding an expected recovery timetable for the star forward.
Analysis: Claude Giroux was believed to be fine after he was examined by team doctors Monday night after hurting himself in practice, but his condition had taken a turn for the worse once he was reevaluated Tuesday morning. The Flyers have already officially ruled him out for Wednesday's game against the Rangers and it seems likely that he'll be a long shot to play Thursday versus the Wild as well, given the team's desire to have him rest for multiple days. As a result, it looks like Giroux, who has netted five goals and 21 total points over 16 games, will turn his focus on returning in time for Saturday's home date with Columbus.

Flyers' Giroux Sits Out Tuesday's Practice

News: Claude Giroux did not take part in Tuesday's practice, CSN's Tim Panaccio reports.
Analysis: Claude Giroux was evaluated by team doctors Tuesday and declared healthy, but it appears that is not the case. Details about Giroux's status are uncertain, but fhe Flyers are planning to provide an update on his health later Tuesday.

Flyers' Giroux Snipes On Power Play In Loss

News: Claude Giroux scored a power-play goal for the second straight game and added an assist in Friday's loss to Columbus.
Analysis: It was another laser from the Flyers' captain, who is now riding a four-game point streak, compiling three goals and seven points in that span. Claude Giroux is now up to 20 points (five goals) in 15 games this season, to go with a plus-5 rating. A good sign for fantasy owners is Giroux is shooting the puck like it's his day job. He has recorded seven shots on goal in two straight games, and has now been credited with 72 shots on goal this season -- second most in the NHL. Keep this stud rolling.

Philly's Giroux: Lights Fire With Three-Point Game

News: Claude Giroux scored two power-play goals and set up another power-play goal in a 4-3 win over the Avalanche on Saturday night. One of the goals stood up as the game-winner.
Analysis: He's on a three-game, five-point scoring streak and has 18 points in 14 games on the season. Money. In. The. Bank.

Flyers' Giroux Collects Assist In Win

News: Claude Giroux collected his league-leading 13th assist in Thursday's win over the Panthers.
Analysis: With 15 points on the season, it's hard to complain that he's not producing for fantasy owners. That doesn't make it any easier to overlook the fact that he's only found twine twice all year, though. Claude Giroux led the Flyers with five shots in this contest, and has been consistently finding opportunities. His shoting percentage is well below his career average, so it's only a matter of time before he starts hitting the back of the net.

Giroux Racking Assists For Flyers

News: Claude Giroux picked up two more assists Thursday against the Lightning, giving him 11 in just 10 games this season.
Analysis: He's also scored a pair of goals, but Claude Giroux's made his presence felt as a distributor the most. With a sparkling 47 shots on goal over 10 games, Giroux should see his scoring rate rise as his luck balances out, as his shooting percentage is less than half its career norm right now.

Flyers' Giroux Collects Assist In Win

News: Claude Giroux assisted on a late, empty-net goal in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings.
Analysis: Claude Giroux has been an assisting machine so far this season. Fantasy owners will hope he can mix in some goals -- he has just two thus far -- as the Flyers host the Kings and their stingy defense on Tuesday.

Flyers' Giroux Collects Two Assists In Win

News: Claude Giroux managed two assists in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Claude Giroux now has two goals and seven assists through his first seven games, and seems to have picked up right where he left off last season. He and linemate Jakub Voracek each have nine points so far, and are proving to be one of the best fantasy duos in the league so far.

Flyers' Giroux Strikes For Overtime Winner

News: Claude Giroux scored the overtime-winning goal and added an assist in Saturday's comeback win over Dallas.
Analysis: Claude Giroux struck in overtime on a power play, taking a pass from Mark Streit and blasting a one-timer past Kari Lehtonen to give the Flyers their first win of the season. Giroux now has two goals, three assists and an impressive 25 shots on goal through five games. The Flyers may struggle defensively, but that's none of your concern, as Giroux leads a lethal offensive attack in Philadelphia. Expect another point-per-game season from the 26-year-old center.

Flyers' Giroux Produces In Losing Effort

News: Claude Giroux picked up two assists and put a game-high seven shots on goal Tuesday in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Claude Giroux's now got points in three straight since opening the season with a quiet game, though he's scored just once on 19 shots. Of course, that rate is sure to come up.

Flyers' Giroux Notches Two Points In Loss

News: Claude Giroux picked up a goal and an assist, but also went minus-4 in Thursday's loss to the Devils.
Analysis: It still represents an improvement from Claude Giroux's performance in Wednesday's season opener, when he lost 17 of 21 face-offs (he went 12-for-21 Thursday) and went scoreless with just one shot. He should be in line for another big offensive season.

Flyers' Giroux To Make Preseason Debut Tuesday

News: Claude Giroux (lower body) will make his preseason debut Tuesday night.
Analysis: Claude Giroux will return to action 11 days after suffering a lower body injury on the first day of training camp. He will have just over a week to get back in playing shape, so it seems likely he will be good to go when the Flyers kick off their season a week from Wednesday.

Flyers' Giroux Could Return To Action Tuesday

News: Claude Giroux (lower body) will skate Tuesday morning and remains a possibility to play in the Flyers' preseason game against the Rangers on Tuesday, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Claude Giroux was originally expected to miss up to two weeks when he suffered the injury on the first day of training camp and seems to be progressing quicker than the team even anticipated. Still, the Flyers could opt to keep Giroux out of Tuesday's game just to be safe, and if that's the case, he'd likely make his return to action on Thursday when the Flyers play the Capitals. Giroux has averaged at least one point per game in the last three seasons, and should remain a top fantasy option once he returns from his injury.

Flyers' Giroux Returns To Practice Thursday

News: Claude Giroux (lower body) made a surprise return to practice Thursday, participating in a limited capacity, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Just six days after suffering an injury that was expected to keep him off the ice for two weeks, Claude Giroux skated gingerly around the rink Thursday, passing the puck around to teammates and attempting a few shots. While the Flyers won't rush him back into preseason action immediately, Giroux looks like he's ahead of schedule in his recovery. There would seem to be a great chance that he's skating at close to full health before the team's Oct. 8 opener.
