Devils' Schneider: 24 Saves In Loss

News: Cory Schneider made 24 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: He's had an outstanding statistical season, but wins have been hard to come by (he has eight straight losses to end the season). Still, his 26 wins are the most of his career. His future is bright and his name could be among the league's best in a few short years.

New Jersey's Schneider Gets Saturday Start

News: Cory Schneider will start Saturday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid is slated to start Thursday's game against Tampa Bay, with Cory Schneider -- who is winless over his last seven decisions -- thus slated to make his 68th (and final) start of the season on Saturday.

Devils' Schneider Saves 36 In Losing Effort

News: Cory Schneider played well Tuesday against the Rangers, stopping 36 of 39 shots, but ended up with a 4-2 loss.
Analysis: Cory Schneider made quite a few highlight-reel stops in this one, but the Devils were dominated quite thoroughly by the Rangers throughout the game, getting outshot 39-21. This was a much better effort than Schneider's last start, Saturday against these same Rangers, but they both ended in losses. Schneider's now dropped seven straight.

New Jersey's Schneider Gets Tuesday Start

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider, who was pulled from Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Rangers 12:24 into the game after giving up three goals on six shots, is eager to bounce back from that rough outing on home ice on Tuesday. "I didn't like how it went, so there's nothing better than just going right back out and playing again," Schneider noted Monday. "I felt good today. I felt sharp. I even felt good the day of (Saturday's) game. It's just sometimes it happens and it gets away from you and you've got to just be better and worker hard the next time."

Devils Pull Schneider Early Saturday

News: Cory Schneider was pulled during the first period Saturday after allowing three goals on just six Rangers shot attempts.
Analysis: Things are slipping badly for the Devils and Cory Schneider, who may be in line for his sixth straight loss if his team can't come back. Keith Kincaid replaced Schneider in net.

New Jersey's Schneider Gets Saturday Start

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Saturday's road game against the Rangers, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: With New Jersey set to play back-to-back games, Keith Kinkaid will draw Friday's assignment against Montreal, with Cory Schneider back in net for the team on Saturday. With the Devils on a six-game losing streak (0-4-2), neither Schneider or Kinkaid are high-percentage plays against the two teams that currently top the Eastern Conference standings.

Devils' Schneider Drops Fifth Straight

News: Cory Schneider stopped 28 of 31 in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss against the Blue Jackets -- his fifth consecutive defeat.
Analysis: As usual, Cory Schneider wasn't bad -- in fact, he's snuck into fourth place in the NHL in save percentage -- but the Devils simply don't score much for him. Though he didn't do himself any favors by giving up the game-winner early in overtime. At least when New Jersey's brass is making plans for next year, they won't have to worry about the man between the pipes.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider On Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jackets, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider, who has lost his last four decisions, draws a tough matchup Tuesday, with Columbus in the midst of a six-game winning streak.

Devils' Schneider Loses Fourth Straight

News: Cory Schneider lost for the fourth straight game Sunday, giving up two goals on 25 shots against the Ducks.
Analysis: Cory Schneider falls to 26-28-8 on the season with a .928 save percentage and 2.19 GAA. His rate stats are among the best in the NHL, but the Devils have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and Schneider has just two wins in his last nine outings. If you can deal with some losses, the 29-year-old is a good fantasy option for these final few games.

Devils' Schneider Starting In Goal

News: Cory Schneider will get the start in goal Sunday against the Ducks, Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider has been a workhorse this season, starting 63 games and posting a 2.19 GAA and .928 save percentage. He's just 26-27 on the year, however, as the Devils are the third-lowest scoring team in the NHL, providing Schneider with only 2.2 goals per game.

Devils' Schneider Buried In OT

News: Cory Schneider gave up three goals on 24 shots Thursday against Washington, including the game-winner by Matt Niskanen 1:13 into overtime.
Analysis: That's three straight losses for Cory Schneider now, and with the Devils out of playoff contention -- if not officially eliminated -- it wouldn't be surprising to see them give a few more starts to backup Keith Kinkaid in the season's final weeks.

Devils' Schneider Gets Nod Thursday

News: Cory Schneider will be in the crease for Thursday's game against the Capitals, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Assuming that Braden Holtby gets the nod for the Capitals, Thursday's match will feature two of the NHL's three most oft-used goalies this season. Holtby has benefited from significantly more offensive support this season than has Cory Schneider, who has been stuck with a sub-.500 record (26-27-7) over 63 outings, despite ranking third in the league in save percentage (.928) and fifth in GAA (2.17). Getting the win may be too much for fantasy owners to ask from Schneider, but he can be counted on to deliver sterling ratios night in and night out.

Devils' Schneider Stops 30 In Loss

News: Cory Schneider turned aside 30 of 33 shots but was on the losing end of Monday's 3-1 contest against the Kings.
Analysis: It's Cory Schneider's second straight loss, but he continues to turn in great performances as his mates have provided him was just one total goal in those two outings. The 29-year-old sports an elite 2.17 GAA and .928 save percentage, but has been saddled with a 26-27-2 record behind the league's third lowest scoring offense.

Devils' Schneider Gets Starting Nod Monday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to receive the starting nod for Monday's game against the Kings, Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider allowed two goals on 29 shots in Saturday's contests with the Islanders, but that was enough to hang the loss on him, as the Devils were shut out. He's been great in net recently, allowing two or less goals in each of the last four games. He'll look to continue that streak Monday against the Kings.

Devils' Schneider: 27 Saves In Loss

News: Cory Schneider made 27 saves in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Islanders. He allowed two goals.
Analysis: This guy has had an outstanding statistical season -- other than wins, of course -- so he's a must-target next season. Until then, he's going to deliver you strong counting stats, so roll away.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider On Saturday

News: Cory Schneider will start Saturday's game against the Islanders.
Analysis: With back-to-back tilts on tap, Cory Schneider -- who blanked the Penguins on Tuesday -- will give way to Keith Kinkaid in Friday's road game against the Sabres.

Devils' Schneider Spins Shutout Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider denied all 35 shots he faced to capture his fifth shutout of the season Tuesday against the Penguins.
Analysis: The Devils were outshot in every period and by a 35-19 margin for the game, but Cory Schneider answered the bell every time, just as he has practically all season. Despite ranking second in the league with 61 appearances, Schneider hasn't shown any signs of fatigue; in fact, he's gotten even stronger since the All-Star break. Over his last three games, Schneider has let in just two pucks while posting a .978 save percentage.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Penguins, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider, who has allowed just one goal in each of his last two turns, will take aim Tuesday at a Pittsburgh squad that has dropped two straight contests (to Boston and Detroit) by a combined tally of 7-1.

Devils' Schneider Stops 30 Shots In Victory

News: Cory Schneider made 30 saves on 31 shots in Saturday's win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: That's back-to-back games the 28-year-old has allowed just a single goal. Cory Schneider advances to 25-25-7 on the season with a .927 save percentage and 2.20 GAA. While he's had a couple rough outings of late, he's been a beast overall and has played a league-high 60 games. You know what to do.

Schneider To Start Saturday

News: Cory Schneider will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Coyotes, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider will make his third consecutive start for the Devils on Saturday against Arizona, and will look to break a three-game losing streak against the Coyotes. Schneider has an excellent matchup on Saturday, as Arizona only averages 2.04 goals scored per game, good for second worst in the NHL.

Devils' Schneider Sharp, But Loses In Shotoout

News: Cory Schneider gave up just a single goal on 29 shots Thursday in a 2-1 shootout loss to Colorado.
Analysis: Tough one for Cory Schneider, who gave up two tallies on three shots in the shootout. It's still a sparkling outing from a statistical perspective, reversing Schneider's fortunes from the last two games, in which he gave up eight goals on 64 shots.

Devils To Start Schneider On Thursday

News: Cory Schneider will be in the net for Thursday's game against the Avalanche, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider seems to have hit his first rough patch since the calendar flipped to 2015, as he's taken losses his last two times out while conceding a combined eight goals. The minor dip in production won't prevent the Devils from continuing to call Schneider's number regularly, and fantasy owners shouldn't sound the alarm either. He'll make for a solid play against an underachieving Avalanche squad that is expected to be without No. 1 netminder Semyon Varlamov (groin) on Thursday.

Schneider, Devils Outclassed By Wild

News: Cory Schneider gave up five goals on 30 shots before being pulled from Tuesday's loss to the Wild.
Analysis: Cory Schneider's had an excellent season from a statistical standpoint, but he and the Devils became the latest victims of the Devan Dubnyk Glorious Victory Tour. This marks first time since Oct. 28 that anyone's been able to sneak five pucks past the Devils' netminder, who'll turn 29 next year.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider On Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Wild, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider returns to the New Jersey net Tuesday after giving way to Keith Kinkaid in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Flyers. He's in line to face a Minnesota squad led by goalie Devan Dubnyk, who is 16-3-1 since Jan. 27.

Devils' Schneider Allows Three Goals In Loss

News: Cory Schneider gave up three goals on 24 shots in Friday's loss to the Blues Jackets.
Analysis: Not the best outing for Cory Schneider, who had allowed just one goal in his previous two starts. He now owns a 24-24-6 record on the season with a .928 save percentage and 2.18 GAA. While it wasn't his best game, Schneider will bounce back, as he's got some of the best rate stats in the NHL and has started a league-high 57 games this season.
