Devils' Schneider Buried In OT

News: Cory Schneider gave up three goals on 24 shots Thursday against Washington, including the game-winner by Matt Niskanen 1:13 into overtime.
Analysis: That's three straight losses for Cory Schneider now, and with the Devils out of playoff contention -- if not officially eliminated -- it wouldn't be surprising to see them give a few more starts to backup Keith Kinkaid in the season's final weeks.

Devils' Schneider Gets Nod Thursday

News: Cory Schneider will be in the crease for Thursday's game against the Capitals, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Assuming that Braden Holtby gets the nod for the Capitals, Thursday's match will feature two of the NHL's three most oft-used goalies this season. Holtby has benefited from significantly more offensive support this season than has Cory Schneider, who has been stuck with a sub-.500 record (26-27-7) over 63 outings, despite ranking third in the league in save percentage (.928) and fifth in GAA (2.17). Getting the win may be too much for fantasy owners to ask from Schneider, but he can be counted on to deliver sterling ratios night in and night out.

Devils' Schneider Stops 30 In Loss

News: Cory Schneider turned aside 30 of 33 shots but was on the losing end of Monday's 3-1 contest against the Kings.
Analysis: It's Cory Schneider's second straight loss, but he continues to turn in great performances as his mates have provided him was just one total goal in those two outings. The 29-year-old sports an elite 2.17 GAA and .928 save percentage, but has been saddled with a 26-27-2 record behind the league's third lowest scoring offense.

Devils' Schneider Gets Starting Nod Monday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to receive the starting nod for Monday's game against the Kings, Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider allowed two goals on 29 shots in Saturday's contests with the Islanders, but that was enough to hang the loss on him, as the Devils were shut out. He's been great in net recently, allowing two or less goals in each of the last four games. He'll look to continue that streak Monday against the Kings.

Devils' Schneider: 27 Saves In Loss

News: Cory Schneider made 27 saves in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Islanders. He allowed two goals.
Analysis: This guy has had an outstanding statistical season -- other than wins, of course -- so he's a must-target next season. Until then, he's going to deliver you strong counting stats, so roll away.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider On Saturday

News: Cory Schneider will start Saturday's game against the Islanders.
Analysis: With back-to-back tilts on tap, Cory Schneider -- who blanked the Penguins on Tuesday -- will give way to Keith Kinkaid in Friday's road game against the Sabres.

Devils' Schneider Spins Shutout Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider denied all 35 shots he faced to capture his fifth shutout of the season Tuesday against the Penguins.
Analysis: The Devils were outshot in every period and by a 35-19 margin for the game, but Cory Schneider answered the bell every time, just as he has practically all season. Despite ranking second in the league with 61 appearances, Schneider hasn't shown any signs of fatigue; in fact, he's gotten even stronger since the All-Star break. Over his last three games, Schneider has let in just two pucks while posting a .978 save percentage.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Penguins, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider, who has allowed just one goal in each of his last two turns, will take aim Tuesday at a Pittsburgh squad that has dropped two straight contests (to Boston and Detroit) by a combined tally of 7-1.

Devils' Schneider Stops 30 Shots In Victory

News: Cory Schneider made 30 saves on 31 shots in Saturday's win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: That's back-to-back games the 28-year-old has allowed just a single goal. Cory Schneider advances to 25-25-7 on the season with a .927 save percentage and 2.20 GAA. While he's had a couple rough outings of late, he's been a beast overall and has played a league-high 60 games. You know what to do.

Schneider To Start Saturday

News: Cory Schneider will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Coyotes, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider will make his third consecutive start for the Devils on Saturday against Arizona, and will look to break a three-game losing streak against the Coyotes. Schneider has an excellent matchup on Saturday, as Arizona only averages 2.04 goals scored per game, good for second worst in the NHL.

Devils' Schneider Sharp, But Loses In Shotoout

News: Cory Schneider gave up just a single goal on 29 shots Thursday in a 2-1 shootout loss to Colorado.
Analysis: Tough one for Cory Schneider, who gave up two tallies on three shots in the shootout. It's still a sparkling outing from a statistical perspective, reversing Schneider's fortunes from the last two games, in which he gave up eight goals on 64 shots.

Devils To Start Schneider On Thursday

News: Cory Schneider will be in the net for Thursday's game against the Avalanche, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider seems to have hit his first rough patch since the calendar flipped to 2015, as he's taken losses his last two times out while conceding a combined eight goals. The minor dip in production won't prevent the Devils from continuing to call Schneider's number regularly, and fantasy owners shouldn't sound the alarm either. He'll make for a solid play against an underachieving Avalanche squad that is expected to be without No. 1 netminder Semyon Varlamov (groin) on Thursday.

Schneider, Devils Outclassed By Wild

News: Cory Schneider gave up five goals on 30 shots before being pulled from Tuesday's loss to the Wild.
Analysis: Cory Schneider's had an excellent season from a statistical standpoint, but he and the Devils became the latest victims of the Devan Dubnyk Glorious Victory Tour. This marks first time since Oct. 28 that anyone's been able to sneak five pucks past the Devils' netminder, who'll turn 29 next year.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider On Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Wild, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider returns to the New Jersey net Tuesday after giving way to Keith Kinkaid in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Flyers. He's in line to face a Minnesota squad led by goalie Devan Dubnyk, who is 16-3-1 since Jan. 27.

Devils' Schneider Allows Three Goals In Loss

News: Cory Schneider gave up three goals on 24 shots in Friday's loss to the Blues Jackets.
Analysis: Not the best outing for Cory Schneider, who had allowed just one goal in his previous two starts. He now owns a 24-24-6 record on the season with a .928 save percentage and 2.18 GAA. While it wasn't his best game, Schneider will bounce back, as he's got some of the best rate stats in the NHL and has started a league-high 57 games this season.

New Jersey Sticks With Schneider On Friday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Friday's game against the Blue Jackets, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider -- who has allowed just one goal over the course of back-to-back wins -- will face a struggling Columbus squad Friday that is 0-6-1 over its last seven games.

Schneider, Devils Prolong Preds' Tailspin

News: Cory Schneider stopped 33 of 34 shots Tuesday in a 3-1 victory over the Western Conference-leading Predators.
Analysis: The Devils caught Nashville at a good time, as the Preds entered Tuesday's action on a three-game losing streak and were playing the second half of a back-to-back set after falling to the Rangers on Monday. That's not to take anything away from the goalie, who now owns an incredible streak of 17 consecutive appearances with a save percentage of .912 or better. If the Devils were any good, his already-fantastic stats would have an extra shine that'd put him in the conversation for the top netminder in fantasy. Unfortunately, the Devils just aren't very good, so fantasy owners will just have to settle for outstanding rate stats and occasional wins.

New Jersey Goes With Schneider On Tuesday

News: Cory Schneider is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Preds, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider, who is currently tied with Washington's Braden Holtby for the league-lead in starts (54), will look to remain sharp Tuesday after turning in a 33-save shutout win in his last outing, Saturday against the Blue Jackets.

Devils' Schneider: Fourth Shutout Of Season

News: Cory Schneider made 33 saves for his fourth shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over Columbus on Saturday.
Analysis: The game was his -- the Devils didn't even record a shot on net until almost 15 minutes had elapsed in the game, but the Jackets couldn't solve Cory Schneider. He may only have a 23-23-6 record, but his 2.23 GAA and .926 save percentage are eighth and fourth in the league, respectively. The guy is a stud.

Devils' Schneider Takes Controversial Loss Friday

News: Cory Schneider made 31 saves Friday, but allowed the game-winning goal 2:46 into overtime to take a 3-2 loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: The loss didn't come without controversy, as Cory Schneider acknowledged after the game that he felt the Bruins' second goal should have been disallowed after Chris Kelly impeded Schneider's path to the puck with the stick. Even though the referees didn't see things from Schneider's perspective, he still turned in another credible outing in defeat, delivering a save percentage above .900 for the 15th straight game. Schneider, who saw a four-game winning streak come to an end Friday, will get a quick opportunity to bounce back, as the Devils announced after the game that he would start Saturday against the Blue Jackets with backup Keith Kinkaid (groin) still unavailable.

Devils' Schneider To Start Friday, Possibly Sat.

News: Cory Schneider will start Friday's game against the Bruins and is likely to get the nod Saturday against the Blue Jackets as well, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider has been playing at an extremely high level for the last two months, and with the Devils still hanging on the periphery of the wild-card race, he should be used frequently down the stretch. Assuming Schneider doesn't face an overly taxing workload or suffer a bad loss Friday, expect him to start both ends of the back-to-back.

Devils' Schneider Stops 23 In Loss

News: Cory Schneider allowed two goals on 25 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: Cory Schneider continued his recent stretch of solid play, but his team couldn't pull out another win for him. He continues to lead the NHL with 53 appearances on the season, and is one of the top fantasy netminders based on his frequent use.

Devils' Schneider Draws Start Wednesday

News: Cory Schneider will be in the crease for Wednesday's game against the Flames, NHL.com's Mike Morreale reports.
Analysis: He'll be backed up by Scott Clemmensen, as typical understudy Keith Kinkaid (groin) will be unavailable. Neither Kinkaid nor Clemmensen pose much of a threat to poach starts from Cory Schneider, as the netminder will make his league-leading 53rd appearance of the season Wednesday. He's been spectacular since the calendar flipped to 2015, going 10-4-1 with a .944 save percentage over 17 outings.

Devils' Schneider Perfect In Win

News: Cory Schneider turned aside all 38 shots he faced in Monday's 3-0 win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: Cory Schneider was able to continue his recent run of strong outings as he notched his third shutout of the year. The netminder is riding a three game winning streak, and has allowed just four goals total in his last four outings (including one relief appearance). Schneider has suffered the third most losses of any goaltender, but he still sports an impressive 2.22 GAA and .926 save percentage.

Devils' Schneider Starts Monday

News: Cory Schneider will start in net Monday against the Coyotes, Rich Chere of The Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider was forced into action Saturday in relief of the injured Keith Kinkaid. Since he's shouldered one of the heavier workloads in the NHL this season, Schneider likely would have been back in the net Monday even in the event Kinkaid were healthy. Schneider has been rock solid of late despite a lack of goal support, and should be a strong play against the Coyotes, one of the Western Conference's worst teams.
