News: The Flames signed defenseman Keith Seabrook to a contract Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Analysis: The Flames picked up Seabrook in a July 17 trade with Washington. Seabrook spent the last two seasons playing junior hockey with Calgary of the WHL after a one-year stint at the University of Denver. Seabrook had 15 goals and 55 points in 64 games with the Hitmen last season. He is definitely a developing prospect, but has no Fantasy value outside long-term keeper leagues.
News: The Washington Capitals have traded D Keith Seabrook to the Calgary Flames for future considerations.
Analysis: Seabrook was taken by Washington in the second round of the 2006 NHL entry draft. He has zero Fantasy value at this time.
News: The Capitals made three roster moves Friday: First-round draft pick Anton Gustafsson was returned to his Swedish team; D Keith Seabrook, a 2006 draftee, was returned to the juniors; and D Craig Switzer was released.
Analysis: Most of these players might not make it to the NHL ice in 2008-09 and are not recommended Fantasy options. When that changes, we will let you know.
