News:Riley Holzapfel has signed a one-year deal with the Penguins, reports TSN's Darren Dreger.
Analysis: It's a two-way deal worth $525,000 if he skates with the big club and $105,000 if he toils in the AHL. He'll be hard pressed to win an NHL job this season.
News: Winnipeg traded Riley Holzapfel to Anaheim on Monday in exchange for Maxime Macenauer, TSN's James Mirtle reports.
Analysis: Although he was the 43rd overall pick in the 2006 draft, Riley Holzapfel has yet to appear in the NHL. He hasn't been all that productive in the AHL (15 points, eight goals in 29 games this year), so he seems unlikely to make an NHL impact any time soon.
News: The Atlanta Thrashers sent Joey Crabb, Chad Denny, Andre Deveaux, Scott Lehman, Chad Painchaud, Tomas Pospisil, Jesse Schultz and Myles Stoesz to Chicago of the AHL on Wednesday. Riley Holzapfel was also assigned to juniors team Moose Jaw of the WHL.
Analysis: Schultz was acquired from Vancouver during the offseason. None of the players mentioned above are useful from a Fantasy perspective heading into the regular season.
