Ducks' Cogliano Good To Go

News: Andrew Cogliano, who suffered a right knee injury this past Saturday, suited up Wednesday, recording five shots in 17:13 worth of ice time.
Analysis: Andrew Cogliano, who has suited up for all 43 of the Ducks' games, has 12 goals and 22 points to date, as he easily outpaces his 2011-12 rate of production (13/13/26 in 82 games).

Ducks' Cogliano: Knee Injury?

News: Andrew Cogliano suffered a right knee injury on a first-period, knee-on-knee hit from the Kings' Dustin Brown on Saturday. He limped off; it's not known if he'll return.
Analysis: The replay showed the lower part of his leg snap backwards and you always suspect an ACL problem in that situation. More as it becomes available.

Cogliano Scores Goal In Ducks' Loss

News: Andrew Cogliano scored the only goal for the Ducks' in the team's 3-1 loss to the Stars on Friday.

Cogliano Scores Goal For Ducks In Win Over Stars

News: Andrew Cogliano scored a goal at the end of the Ducks 5-2 win over the Stars on Wednesday.
Analysis: Wednesday's goal snaps a 10-game-long goalless streak for Andrew Cogliano. Despite this scoring drought, it should be noted that Cogliano does now have two points in his last three games.

Cogliano Gets Assist In Loss To Columbus

News: Andrew Cogliano got an assist in the Ducks' only goal in their 2-1 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets on Sunday.
Analysis: Sunday's assist ends a six-game long pointless streak for Andrew Cogliano, during which he averaged less than 16 minutes of ice time per game. Despite this recent drought, it is worth mentioning that whenever Cogliano has gotten a point this season, he has more often than not gotten at least one more point in the next couple of games.

Ducks' Cogliano: Second Career Hat Trick

News: Andrew Cogliano scored a natural hat trick Saturday in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Coyotes. It's his second career hat trick.
Analysis: Cogs seems to have resurrected his career under coach Bruce Boudreau. He now has eight goals and five assists in 20 games this season. He's still a bit of a depth fantasy play, though, as his production seems to come in fits and spurts rather than in a regular pattern.

Cogliano Carries Ducks

News: Andrew Cogliano scored for the third straight game during Friday's win over Detroit, giving him four goals in the last three games.
Analysis: Andrew Cogliano has been one of the league's hottest players the last 10 days and sits with eight points in 12 games on the season. Expect the goal scoring to taper off a bit, but Cogliano is enjoying life in Anaheim.

Ducks' Cogliano Scores Again

News: Andrew Cogliano scored his second goal Tuesday in as many games after being held without a goal over the first 10 games of the season.
Analysis: The goal was a big one - it tied the game against the Blackhawks with less than 3:00 left in a game that the Ducks ultimately won in the shootout.

Ducks' Cogliano Joins Austrian Team

News: Andrew Cogliano signed with Klagenfurter AC of Austria on Saturday, 630 CHED of Edmonton reports.
Analysis: Players continue to trickle into the overseas hockey leagues with a deal to end the NHL lockout not yet imminent, with Andrew Cogliano being the latest casualty. The durable Cogliano has played the full 82 games in each of his five NHL seasons, but did see his scoring drop to 26 points last season with the Ducks, the lowest total of his career.

Cogliano On Target For Ducks

News: Andrew Cogliano scored the Ducks' first in a 3-1 victory over the Blackhawks on Sunday.
Analysis: Andrew Cogliano fooled Ray Emery with a tip-in to make the score even at 1-1 late in the first period. The goal is a rarity for Cogliano, who only has 12 for the season in 62 games.

Ducks' Cogliano Tallies Hat Trick

News: Andrew Cogliano had a hat trick in the span of 6:51 in the second period of the Ducks' win over the Coyotes on Tuesday.
Analysis: The goals by Andrew Cogliano were not works of art - in fact, at least two of the three goals could be considered "soft" goals given up by Coyotes' goalie Mike Smith. But that's also more fitting of Cogliano - he's a grinder, not a pretty goal scorer.

Goal For Ducks' Cogliano

News: Andrew Cogliano scored the game-winning goal Monday against San Jose. It was his seventh goal of the season.

Cogliano Scores Twice, But Ducks Lose

News: Andrew Cogliano doubled his season goal total with a pair of tallies Thursday against the Kings, but the Ducks still took a 5-3 loss.
Analysis: The former first-round pick has flashed his offensive talent in fits and starts, but has never really put it together. The two-goal night still leaves him with just six points in 19 games.

Ducks Lock Up Cogliano's Role

News: Andrew Cogliano will begin the year as the Ducks' third-line center, the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: One of the training camp goals for coach Randy Carlyle was to find a role for Andrew Cogliano. "His speed is his number one asset," Carlyle said. "We have to find a way to help him to get that speed to be noticeable. And it was very noticeable in the last game we played him at center."

Cogliano Signs Three-Year Deal With Ducks

News: Cogliano has signed a three-year contract with the Ducks worth $7.2 million, CBC.ca reports.
Analysis: Cogliano, who will help fill the void created by the retirement of Todd Marchant, has combined for 21 goals over the last two seasons after recording 18 tallies in each of his first two campaigns with Edmonton. Perhaps the change of scenery will give him an opportunity to up his production and resurface as an option in deeper leagues.

Cogliano Sent To Anaheim

News: Cogliano was traded to Anaheim in exchange for a second-round pick, Globe and Mail writer James Mirtle reports.
Analysis: The 24-year-old hasn't posted the greatest numbers the past couple years, but he has the potential to be useful for Anaheim if he can recapture the promise he showed as a rookie in the 2007-2008 season, when he posted 45 points (18 goals) in 82 games.

Cogliano's SH Goal Caps Oilers' 5-1 Win

News: Cogliano scored while a man down late in Edmonton's cakewalk over Colorado on Saturday.
Analysis: In a penalty-filled game like this one, a penalty killer like Cogliano will get several chances for a sudden breakaway. He won't be a major scorer, at least for a while, but his value has increased noticeably since Christmas. At that point, he was 3-5-8 in 33 games; since then, he's gone 8-12-20, also in 33 games. This season is a lost cause for the Oilers, but next year, he and the rest of the Edmonton youth corps will likely see a significant uptick in value.

Cogliano Posts Two Points in Edmonton Win

News: Cogliano scored for the second time in three games, also adding an assist in Monday's win over Ottawa.
Analysis: Cogliano's been a bit disappointing to say the least, with seven points this season. He has three points in the last two games. A gifted player, Cogliano has massively underachieved this season and remains a risky play until he shows consistency.

Oilers' Cogliano (Face) Returns, Scores

News: Cogliano returned to the ice on Thanksgiving after taking a puck to the face in Tuesday's game and scored his second goal of the year in a win over Colorado.
Analysis: It was possibly Cogliano's best game of the season, as he also went plus-two after needing seven stitches to close the gash. Once considered a premier talent, he's declined dramatically and struggled especially mightily this year -- but he's also just 23.

Oilers' Cogliano Takes Seven Stitches to Face

News: Cogliano took seven stitches after being hit in the face with a puck, according to the Edmonton Journal.
Analysis: Cogliano hasn't had much luck lately as this incident happens just two weeks after he took a stick to his upper lip that required 10 stitches to close.

Oilers' Cogliano Leaves Game After Puck Hits Face

News: Cogliano left Tuesday's match against Phoenix after a deflected puck struck him in the face, CBC.ca reports.
Analysis: Cogliano was limited to 8:55 of ice time as the result of the injury. We'll update his status as more information comes in, but we doubt that many owners are rushing to pick up Cogliano, the owner of the worst plus/minus rating (minus-11) on the weakest team in the Western Conference.
