Blues' Porter Records Assist In Win

News: Chris Porter recorded an assist in Wednesday's Game 4 victory over the Wild.
Analysis: Chris Porter made the most of his first appearance of the postseason, setting up Ryan Reaves for the game's first goal while chipping in a team-high five hits. The assist was Porter's first point since Dec. 8.

Blues' Porter Will Return To Lineup Saturday

News: Chris Porter will return to the Blues lineup Saturday against the Penguins.
Analysis: Chris Porter has been out of the Blues' lineup with an ankle injury since Dec. 30. He'll likely slot into a bottom-six role upon his return. Porter has only tallied two points through 14 games with the Blues this season.

Blues' Porter Activated From IR

News: Chris Porter (ankle) was activated from injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's game against the Stars, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports..
Analysis: Chris Porter has been fully recovered from the ankle injury for a while now, but the Blues didn't have an opening available for him in the lineup until Tuesday. It looks like coach Ken Hitchcock could slot Porter into a bottom-six role, with Joakim Lindstrom heading to the press box in his place. With only two points in 14 games this season, Porter's return shouldn't make much waves in the fantasy realm.

Blues' Porter Back To 100 Percent

News: Chris Porter (ankle) is in the "100 percent range" according to coach Ken Hitchcock.
Analysis: Hitchcock indicated that a return to the lineup would come soon, so Chris Porter seems likely to return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Stars. He hasn't played since December and has just two points in 14 contests, so it's possible the winger comes back in a reduced role initially.

Blues' Porter Nearing Return

News: Chris Porter (ankle) is traveling with the Blues on their current road trip, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Chris Porter hasn't played since Dec. 29, but looks like he's close to being ready for the Blues. It remains to be seen where he would slot into the lineup upon his activation from injured reserve, as the Blues have been performing at a high level in his absence. If Porter isn't able to reclaim his usual role in the team's bottom six, he'd likely be forced to serve as a healthy scratch on most occasions.

Blues' Porter Joins Full Group Monday

News: Chris Porter (ankle) resumed skating with the full group Monday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Chris Porter appears just about fully recovered from the broken ankle he suffered Dec. 29 and could be activated from injured reserve later this week. Once he's added back to the 23-man roster, Porter would likely see limited ice time in a bottom-six role for the Blues.

Blues' Porter Deemed A 'Full Go'

News: Coach Ken Hitchcock said Friday that Chris Porter (ankle) is fully recovered from his injury, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "He's a full go. He's doing everything," Hitchcock said. "We're hopeful when we get back and skate [Saturday] that he'll join the whole group."
Analysis: The Blues continue to list Chris Porter on injured reserve, but that could change if he makes it through Saturday's skate without incident. Porter has been out since Dec. 29 with the high-ankle sprain.

Blues' Porter (Ankle) Out Of Cast

News: Chris Porter (high-ankle sprain) is no longer wearing a cast, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Blues' Porter (Lower Body) Placed on IR

News: Chris Porter (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday morning, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The quick move to place Chris Porter on injured reserve seems to confirm that his injury is fairly serious, with coach Ken Hitchcock telling the Associated Press that he won't be reevaluated for another six weeks. He was unable to place any weight on his injured left leg while leaving the ice in Monday's game. A late-February return seems like the best-case scenario for the winger.

Blues' Porter To Play Saturday

News: Chris Porter will sub back into the lineup for his 17th game of the season Saturday at home against the Stars, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Chris Porter will take the place of Magnus Paajarvi in the lineup, who will sit as a healthy scratch. Coach Ken Hitchcock is hoping this move adds more toughness to his fourth line, adding that "Porter wins all the board battles. He plays really sound. He's got a great conscience and he's a smart player." While the compliments are nice for Porter, the fact remains that with just a single point this season -- and 25 in 143 career games -- he is more valuable to the Blues than fantasy rosters.

Blues Recall Porter

News: Chris Porter was recalled from AHL Chicago on Tuesday.
Analysis: With the Blues sending down youngster Dmitrij Jaskin after he was a healthy scratch in the team's most recent game, Chris Porter seems destined for a similar fate. The 29-year-old is little more than organizational depth and has one point in 10 games with the parent club on the season.

Blues Send Down Porter

News: Chris Porter was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Saturday.
Analysis: With the Blues in need of extra goalie Saturday in light of Jaroslav Halak's illness, Chris Porter was the odd man out. Porter had one assist in 10 games with the Blues.

News: The Blues have assigned Chris Porter to AHL Chicago, the team's official site reports.

Blues Recall Porter

News: Chris Porter was recalled from AHL Chicago on Saturday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The Blues had a need for an extra forward for their upcoming trip to Ottawa, and the choice was Chris Porter, who was previously waived by the Blues in November. He's unlikely to stick with the parent club for very long beyond the Ottawa game.

Blues' Porter Placed On Waivers

News: Chris Porter was placed on waivers by the Blues on Friday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Chris Porter had suited up for two games this season. At 29 years old and with limited production at the NHL level the last few seasons, it appears Porter is just organizational forward depth at this stage in his career.

News: The Blues recalled Chris Porter from AHL Chicago on Thursday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Blues Waive Porter

News: Chris Porter was waived by the Blues on Saturday, Ren Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Chris Porter was coming off his best season with the Blues in 2012-13, scoring eight points and posting a plus-5 rating over 29 games. However, the Blues didn't see much upside in keeping the 29-year-old Porter on the roster over younger forwards with higher ceilings. He could still attract interest from another NHL club before teams finalize their Opening Night rosters.

Blues' Porter Picking Up Slack

News: Chris Porter has been a leading scorer for St. Louis in April with five points -- one goal and five assists.
Analysis: Obviously, the Blues are struggling to score when Chris Porter's one of the leading point-getters. He's worth considering only in very deep formats.
