'Yotes' Erat: Three-Game Point Streak

News: Martin Erat scored the Coyotes' only goal in Saturday's loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: Don't look know, but he's on a three-game point streak (one goal, two assists). And his 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists) have come in 61 games -- that's a slight step up from his abysmal 29 points in 70 games last year. His fantasy best looks pretty small in the rearview mirror at this point in his career.

Coyotes' Erat Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Martin Erat picked up an assist on the power play Thursday in a 4-3 loss to the Rangers. He added one shot, four hits, and two blocks in the game.
Analysis: Martin Erat has been a passable depth forward for the Coyotes this year with 28 points in 60 games. It will be interesting to see if the pending UFA has done enough to play his way onto another team at the trade deadline.

Coyotes' Erat Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Martin Erat picked up an assist Saturday in a 4-2 loss to the Lightning. He was plus-1 and added four hits and a blocked shot in the contest.
Analysis: Martin Erat has three points in his past five games to bring him up to 26 on the season. He is one of a number of pending veteran free agents the Coyotes could look to move before the trade deadline, but even moving to greener pastures is not likely to give him a big performance boost at age 33.

Coyotes' Erat Scores In Win

News: Martin Erat scored a power-play goal Friday in a 4-2 loss to San Jose. He went minus-1, took two shots on net, and blocked one in the contest.
Analysis: Martin Erat has points in consecutive games to bring his season total to 25 in 54 games. Like many Coyotes, he has an ugly plus/minus rating (minus-14), and with just 61 shots on the season, it should be clear that he is an asset in strictly deeper leagues.

Coyotes' Erat Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Martin Erat picked up an assist Tuesday in a loss to St. Louis. He also delivered three hits in the contest.
Analysis: Martin Erat is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and highly likely to be moved before the NHL trade deadline. He has recovered from a disastrous performance last season to match his point total in 53 games. Some team is likely to pick him up for the stretch run.

Coyotes' Erat Picks Up Assist In Win

News: Martin Erat picked up an assist on the power play Sunday in a win over Montreal. He was minus-1 and took three shots, added two hits and a blocked shot in the game.
Analysis: Martin Erat seems to have found a rhythm of late as he has four points in four games since sitting out consecutive games as a healthy scratch. His days as a 50-point producer are over, but with 23 points in 48 games the veteran Czech is on the verge of eclipsing his point total (24) from last year's disastrous season.

Erat Comes Back Hot For Coyotes

News: After sitting out as a healthy scratch in consecutive games, Martin Erat scored a goal on five shots and added an assist over 19:07 of ice time Tuesday in a shootout loss to the Flyers.
Analysis: He'd gone minus-2 over his last two games while getting off zero shots on goal, prompting coach Dave Tippett to sit him down for a couple. Fantasy owners, however, should view this outing with some skepticism, considering Martin Erat's modest total of 21 points in 45 games this year.

Coyotes' Erat To Be Scratched For Second Straight

News: Martin Erat appears on track to be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Blackhawks, the second straight game he'll head to the press box, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Martin Erat closed 2014 on a high note but has seen his production dry up in seven January contests, delivering no goals, two assists, and just three shot attempts. The 33-year-old doesn't fit the profile of somebody the rebuilding Coyotes want to carve out ice time for, so it wouldn't be surprising if he was traded prior to the deadline.

Assists Trickling In For Yotes' Erat

News: Martin Erat registered an assist and spent two minutes in the penalty box in Saturday's triumph over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: While not one of the more notable scorers on a night in which the Coyotes torched Sergei Bobrovsky for six scores, Martin Erat has tallied a point in each of the team's four wins during their last five games. He's only managed six goals and 12 points over 38 games on the season, but his recent run of production makes him somewhat intriguing in deeper formats for the time being.

Coyotes' Erat Gathers Two Points

News: Martin Erat scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-4 Tuesday against the Oilers.
Analysis: The veteran winger doesn't find the scoresheet reliably -- he'd managed just a lone assist over the prior seven games -- though his 30 PIM and 44 hits give him a shade of value in deep specialty formats.

Coyotes' Erat Has Assist In Win

News: Martin Erat picked up an assist Tuesday on the overtime game-winner against Edmonton. He was plus-1, took two shots, and registered a hit and blocked shot in the contest.
Analysis: Martin Erat has recovered from last year's disaster 24 points season to post 13 points in 30 games this year. This was his first point in four games though, so his days as a 50+ point man are likely done and gone.

Coyotes' Erat Scores In Win Monday

News: Martin Erat scored his fifth goal of the season on the power play Monday in a win over the Oilers. He had 2 PIM and his goal was on his only shot of the night.
Analysis: Martin Erat only scored once last year so he is already having a much better season on that front. That said, at age 33 his days as a 20-goal scorer are pretty much done.

Coyotes' Erat Dishes Two Assists

News: Martin Erat dished out a pair of assists in Friday's 5-0 rout of the Canucks.
Analysis: That's nine points in 17 games for Martin Erat, who has provided decent, albeit unspectacular, secondary scoring production for the Desert Dogs. In terms of peripheral stats, his most appealing line would be the 18 PIMs, as his 21 shots and minus-five rating leave much to be desired among prospective owners.

Coyotes' Erat Scores In Win Monday

News: Martin Erat scored his fourth goal of the season Monday in a win over the Leafs. He added two PIM and and four shots on net in 18:41 of ice time.
Analysis: Martin Erat now has six points in 12 games, including four goals after scoring just three times last season. He could come close to his production from his Nashville days when he scored between 16 and 23 goals every year between 2005-06 and 2011-12.

Coyotes' Erat Nabs Two Points In Win

News: Martin Erat registered a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Martin Erat finished the game with three shots on goal in his 17:06 of ice time, taking advantage of a shaky Oilers defense and poor play by goalie Ben Scrivens. Not every opponent is going to be as hapless as Edmonton was Wednesday, so don't make two much of Erat's two-point game.

Coyotes' Erat Says He's Good To Go For Thursday

News: Martin Erat (upper body) deemed himself good to go for Thursday's game against the Panthers, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Martin Erat had previously expressed optimism regarding a Thursday return, and he was even more confident after Wednesday's skate. Unless the team disagrees, look for Erat to return from his three-game absence.

Coyotes' Erat Targeting Thursday Return

News: Martin Erat (upper body) hopes to be back in the lineup Thursday vs. the Panthers, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Coach Dave Tippett is already ruling Martin Erat out for Monday's game in Los Angeles, but there's optimism he won't be out much longer beyond that. Erat has already missed two games due to the injury.

Coyotes' Erat Out Saturday

News: Martin Erat (upper body) will not play Saturday against Calgary, according to the Arizona Republic's Sarah McLellan.
Analysis: Martin Erat was unlikely for the match-up with the Flames and his return will more likely come in the next week.

Coyotes Hope To Have Erat Back Within A Week

News: GM Don Maloney said the Coyotes hope to have Martin Erat (upper body) back in the lineup within a week, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Martin Erat has officially been ruled out of Thursday's game vs. Boston and appears unlikely to play Saturday as well, but it doesn't sound like a long-term absence is in the works for the forward. He was reported that he's already noticed some improvement from his injury since Tuesday's game and could start skating on his own within the next couple of days.

Coyotes' Erat Leaves With Upper-Body Injury

News: Martin Erat left Tuesday's game against the Panthers with an upper-body injury, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Martin Erat was on the ice for four shifts before departing with the injury. The Coyotes should provide official word on his status after the game, along with a potential return timetable. An absence of even a couple of games would be disappointing considering the Coyotes specifically acquired the forward at the deadline to improve their chances of earning a playoff spot out West.

Coyotes' Erat Scores First With New Team In Win

News: Martin Erat scored his first goal as a Coyote Monday in a win over Tampa Bay. He was plus-1 and took two PIM.
Analysis: Martin Erat, a three-time 20 goal scorer, has just two goals on the season. The move to Phoenix may instil new jump in his game, but he needs to prove himself to fantasy owners before he can be added in shallow leagues.

Coyotes' Erat Held Pointless In Debut

News: Martin Erat made his debut for Phoenix skating 16:30 Thursday in a win over Montreal. He recorded two shots on net, four hits, and two PIM.
Analysis: Martin Erat will slot on a line with fellow Czech countrymen Radim Vrbata and Martin Hanzal, which could give him the opportunity to improve on his lone goal so far this season.

Erat Traded To Coyotes In Four-Player Deal

News: Martin Erat and prospect John Mitchell were traded to the Coyotes on Tuesday in exchange for Rostislav Klesla, Chris Brown and a 2015 fourth-round draft pick, Katie Carrera of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The Capitals had been planning on trading the Czech winger for some time and finally pulled the trigger when the right package became available. Martin Erat is expected to slot in on the second line next to Martin Hanzal and Radim Vrbata, giving the Coyotes an adequate top six as look to make a run at a Wild Card spot out West.

Caps' Erat Limps Off After Warm-Ups

News: Martin Erat (undisclosed) left warm-ups early and limped off to the locker room. He is not expected to play against the Bruins on Saturday, Katie Carrera of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Carrera noted that he was skating gingerly when warm-ups began though no injury had been reported. We'll call it 'undisclosed' for now, but it certainly appeared to be something with his knee or ankle.
