Preds' Lundmark Clears Waivers, Heads to AHL

News: Lundmark (groin) has cleared waivers and will report to AHL Milwaukee, the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Given his injury status and tendency for spotty play, it doesn't sound like we will be seeing Lundmark back in the NHL anytime soon.

Preds Place Lundmark on Waivers

News: Lundmark (groin) has been placed on waivers, the Nashville Tennessean reports.
Analysis: He's on a two-way contract after signing with Nashville as a free agent during the summer. Lundmark has been on IR all season with a groin injury and hasn't seen any action to this point.

Preds' Lundmark Expected Back Soon From Groin Injury

News: Lundmark (groin) sat out Thursday's practice but is expected back soon, according to the Tennessean.
Analysis: "He is still day-to-day," coach Barry Trotz said. "I anticipate he is probably out this weekend. He will probably get back on the ice Sunday or Monday."

Predators' Lundmark Out With Groin Strain

News: Lundmark missed Tuesday's team skate with a strained groin, according to the Tennessean.
Analysis: Lundmark possesses a ton of untapped skill and potential, but unfortunately his fantasy ranking does not reflect this. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Leafs claim Lundmark off waivers

News: The Maple Leafs have claimed C Jamie Lundmark off waivers from the Calgary Flames.
Analysis: Lundmark will be reunited with former Dion Phaneuf in Toronto, but Lundmark has a long way to go before he gets anywhere close to Phaneuf's Fantasy value. Continue to ignore Lundmark in the majority of Fantasy leagues.

Lundmark has three goals since recall

News: Flames C Jamie Lundmark scored his team's only goal during a 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Thursday. Calgary, coming off a 9-1 loss in San Jose on Monday night, tied it with 1:29 left in the second on a power play, striking on what became essentially a two-man advantage when Colin Fraser's stick broke. Jarome Iginla threaded a pass to Dion Phaneuf, whose slap shot was partially stopped by goalie Antti Niemi. Lundmark was at the side of the net to whack in the rebound.
Analysis: Lundmark has three goals in eight games since being called up from the minors two weeks ago. He has been playing all over the place for Calgary, including on the top line, and has been one of the few players to have a good offensive run in January. Still, Lundmark has marginal Fantasy appeal.

Lundmark on top line after recall

News: Calgary recalled Jamie Lundmark from the AHL's Abbotsford Heat on Friday and inserted him on the top line with Jarome Iginla and Daymond Langkow against the Blue Jackets. He had no points in 16:24 of ice time.
Analysis: Lundmark has one goal and three points in seven games this season. He has done well in his limited PT with Calgary, but it still hasn't been enough to keep him in the NHL full time. Ignore Lundmark in Fantasy until further notice.

Lundmark earns quick demotion Monday

News: The Sports Xchange reports Flames RW Jamie Lundmark started Monday's game against the Ducks on the line with Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen, but a horrible giveaway that led to the first Anaheim goal put him on the bench for much of the game. He ended up with no points and a minus-2 rating in 16:15 of ice time.
Analysis: Lundmark has played in just two games this season. The former first-round draft pick has pretty much been a bust in his career and has fallen way short of expectations. It's safe to ignore him in Fantasy until further notice.

Veteran Lundmark attends prospects camp

News: The Sports Xchange reports Flames C Jamie Lundmark's first prospects camp was 1999, the year he was drafted ninth overall by the New York Rangers. Ten years later, Lundmark found himself again at a prospects camp. Because teams have the option to make players who weren't on the roster for the majority of games the previous season partake in their prospects camp, Lundmark, 28, was alongside fresh-faced draft choices and first-year pros. Lundmark did his best to hide the disappointment, and was doing what he could to make the most of the situation. "It might have been an option (to skip it), but I'm going to make it the best thing for me," he said. "I'll get three days in here, get a good skate in before everybody else. And we're learning new systems and stuff like that, so I'll be a jump ahead of everybody else."
Analysis: Lundmark has played in 259 career NHL games, including 27 for Calgary last season, in which he collected eight goals and eight assists. Still, he's likely ticketed for the AHL's Abbotsford Heat. He's on a two-way contract, while the Flames have 14 forwards on one-way deals. He has been a pretty disappointing pro and has become merely organizational depth for the Flames. Lundmark won't have much Fantasy appeal Draft Day.

Lundmark renews with the Flames

News: The Calgary Flames have brought back center Jamie Lundmark and signed forward Jason Jaffray. The moves were announced by the team on Tuesday.
Analysis: Lundmark scored eight goals and added eight assists in 27 games with the Flames last season. He added 15 goals and 37 assists in 54 games with the team's Quad City affiliate in the AHL. Lundmark was the ninth pick overall in the 1999 draft, but he has been a pretty disappointing prospect in his pro career. He is merely roster depth for the Flames and won't have much Fantasy appeal Draft Day.

Lundmark on fire since recall

News: Flames RW Jamie Lundmark scored a goal, tallied an assist and finished at plus-2 during Monday's game against the Red Wings. Lundmark wristed a shot from deep in the corner toward the net that glanced off Chris Osgood's pad and trickled underneath him to make it 2-0 at 2:21 of the second.
Analysis: Lundmark has six goals and five assists in 14 games since his recall form the minors. He is having one of the best stretches of his pro career and appears to be a vital part of the Flames' rotation at this time. Lundmark should only be considered a low-end flier in larger Fantasy leagues.

Lundmark scores, gets into fight

News: Calgary RW Jamie Lundmark scored the tying goal in a 2-1 win over the Stars on Wednesday. The goal came 5:39 into the second period, just 4:20 after Brendan Morrison gave the Starts the lead. Lundmark also got into a fight with Steve Ott only 1:26 into the game.
Analysis: Most Fantasy owners that have Lundmark on their team are happier to see the fight than the goal. He is mostly on the team to add depth and not a significant Fantasy player.

Lundmark notches first '08-09 goal

News: Flames RW Jamie Lundmark scored a goal during Friday's 4-1 win against the Wild. Lundmark scored his first goal of the season 12:39 into the second for a 3-0 lead. He has two points in three games since his recall from the minors.
Analysis: Lundmark returned to the NHL in 2008-09 after spending last season in Russia, but has spent most of the season in the minors. He has never been a star player in the NHL and is just roster depth. He has little to no Fantasy value.

Lundmark and Greentree recalled

News: The Flames called up Jamie Lundmark and Kyle Greentree from Quad City of the American Hockey League.

Lundmark picks up 1st point of season

News: Flames RW Jamie Lundmark, who was recalled up on Monday, produced his first NHL point of the season Tuesday when he assisted in a win over the Blues.
Analysis: Lundmark spent the first two months of last season in Russia playing 14 games for Moscow Dynamo and played the remainder of the year with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) posting 33 points (13 goals, 20 assists) and 71 penalty minutes in 51 games. This year he has 30 points in 28 games with the Monsters. Lundmark has played in 232 career NHL games totaling 71 points (27 goals and 44 assists) spending time with the New York Rangers, Phoenix Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings and Flames. He is nothing more than organizational depth and has little to no Fantasy value.

Lundmark tries again with Flames

News: The Flames signed RW Jamie Lundmark to a contract Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. This will be Lundmark's third stint with Calgary after having spent 12 games in the 2005-06 season and 39 games during the 2006-07 season with the club.
News: Jamie Lundmark signed a contract during the offseason with Moscow Dynamo, joining former NHLers Dmitry Afanasenkov and Mark Giordano with the Russian club.

Lundmark doing well with Kings

News: Kings C Jamie Lundmark continued his strong play on Wednesday since being acquired from Calgary. Lundmark, who had no goals in 39 games with the Flames, now has seven goals in 22 games with the Kings after scoring a goal Wednesday against the Stars. He also has three goals in his last four games.
Analysis: Suddenly, Lundmark has upped his Fantasy value since coming to L.A. He is still no must-start option, but could be useful in larger Fantasy formats at this time.

Lundmark scores lucky goal

News: Jamie Lundmark scored for Los Angeles on fluke bounce against Chicago Thursday. Lundmark, playing in his second game since being acquired from Calgary for Craig Conroy, was credited with the tying goal with 12:51 left. He chipped the puck away from defenseman Jassen Cullimore in the left corner and Cullimore retrieved it, but inadvertently banked it into the net off Nikolai Khabibulin. "It was definitely big for me," Lundmark said. "It's been a rough season so far in the goal department, to get one like that was big. Obviously, it was a lucky goal but I'll take it."
Analysis: Lundmark had no goals and four assists in 39 games for the Flames this season before coming over in trade earlier this week. He has 20 goals and 42 assists in 203 regular-season games with Calgary, Phoenix and the New York Rangers. Consider him in only the largest of leagues.

Lundmark joins Kings in trade

News: The Los Angeles Kings traded center Craig Conroy to the Calgary Flames on Monday for center Jamie Lundmark, a fourth-round pick in this year's NHL entry draft and a second-round selection in the 2008 draft.
Analysis: The 26-year-old Lundmark had no goals and four assists in 39 games for the Flames this season. He has 20 goals and 42 assists in 203 regular-season games with Calgary, Phoenix and the New York Rangers. Lundmark's role will likely increase with the Kings, but he's still too inconsistent to rely on in Fantasy just yet.

Lundmark is off the mark

News: The Calgary trio of RW Darren McCarty, C Jamie Lundmark and LW Jeff Friesen are among nine NHL forwards who have played at least 27 games and not scored a goal.

Five Flames go scoreless

News: Jeff Friesen, Jamie Lundmark, Darren McCarty, Marcus Nilson and Stephane Yelle were all scoreless in Thursday's game at Ottawa with an even rating.
Analysis: Neither of the players are worth any Fantasy consideration except in the largest of formats.
