Ex-Penguin Pyatt Signs With Swiss Club

News: Taylor Pyatt signed a one-year contract with Geneve-Servette of Switzerland on Wednesday, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt was only a bit contributor for the Rangers and Penugins last season, totaling five points over 56 NHL games. The former No. 8 overall pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft will attempt to restore some value overseas before returning stateside, perhaps next season.

Bolts' Pyatt Returns From Injury

News: Taylor Pyatt (undisclosed) returned to action Sunday against the Senators, seeing 12:51 of ice time in the defeat.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt missed just one game due to the injury, which may have simply been for maintenance purposes. It looks like he'll be available for the Penguins when the postseason kicks off Wednesday, but as a fourth-line skater, he won't have much appeal in playoff pools.

Pyatt Scores Again Thursday For Pens

News: Taylor Pyatt scored for the second straight game Thursday, giving him four goals and five points in 48 contests.
Analysis: The big forward has responded to a benching with better play, but it's difficult recommending a player who went 16 games without a goal prior to Tuesday.

Penguins' Pyatt Scratched On Sunday

News: Taylor Pyatt is a scratch for Sunday's game, Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: It is unclear if he is scratched due to health concerns or is just simply a healthy scratch. Deryk Engelland will be back in the lineup in his place.

Penguins' Pyatt Poised To Play Thursday

News: Taylor Pyatt (lower body) is expected to return to the lineup Thursday against the Canadiens, Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt has been practicing with the Penguins since Friday after he was sidelined for the team's final two contests before the Olympic break with the lower-body injury. He'll slot in on the fourth line for the Penguins on Thursday, where he won't be counted on for much offense or any other meaningful fantasy numbers.

Penguins' Pyatt Returns To Practice

News: Taylor Pyatt (lower body) returned to practice for the Penguins on Friday.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt missed a few games heading into the Olympic break but was able to return to the ice Friday. He will test the injury out at practice Monday again and a determination on his return will be made from there.

Penguins' Pyatt Out

News: Taylor Pyatt will miss the Penguins' next two games with a lower-body injury.
Analysis: The report indicates that Taylor Pyatt could practice after the team's upcoming Olympic break, a nugget that suggests that the winger's injury is beyond the realm of a day-to-day issue.

Penguins' Pyatt Suffers Lower-Body Injury

News: Taylor Pyatt suffered a lower-body injury and will not return to Monday's game against the Senators.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt, who has three points in 36 games, was injured just 23 seconds into Monday's contest. He never returned to the ice and was officially ruled out in the middle of the second period.

Pens' Pyatt Hurt Monday

News: Taylor Pyatt was injured in the first shift of Monday's game against the Senators, Josh Yohe of the Tribune-Review reports.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt was injured just 23 seconds into Monday's contest and had to be helped to the Pens' dressing room. We'll have a better idea of how serious it was soon, but keep an eye out to see whether he returns to the bench in the meantime.

Pyatt Fitting In With Pens

News: Taylor Pyatt scored his second goal in three games Wednesday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: His power-play goal Wednesday proved to be the game-winner. Taylor Pyatt gives the Pens something the team has been searching for -- a net-front presence who's hard to move. He could have some sneaky fantasy value, just don't expect too much from the 6-foot-4 forward.

Pens' Pyatt Pots Goal Wednesday

News: Taylor Pyatt scored his first goal in six games with the Penguins on Wednesday.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt finished plus-2 with two shots, a block and five hits. Due to injuries, he had the opportunity to skate with Evgeni Malkin and Jussi Jokinen at times.

Pyatt Debuts For Pens On Friday

News: Taylor Pyatt totaled 11:44 TOI in his debut with Pittsburgh, going pointless against the Rangers on Friday.
Analysis: He skated as a fourth-line left winger with Joe Vitale and Craig Adams. Taylor Pyatt saw all of his action at even-strength. The waiver-wire pickup will look to turn around a season in which he had just one assist and a minus-9 rating in 22 games with the Rangers.

Pens Claim Pyatt Off Waivers From Rangers

News: The Penguins claimed Taylor Pyatt off waivers from the Rangers on Thursday.
Analysis: Although Taylor Pyatt has not lived up expectations as the eighth overall pick back in 1999, he has put together a very respectable career, notching double-digit goals in seven different seasons. He's put up just one assist and a minus-9 rating in 22 games with the Rangers this year, but a change of scenery could do the 32-year-old some good.

Rangers Waive Pyatt

News: Taylor Pyatt was placed on waivers Wednesday, Ren Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: With just one point in 22 contests this season, it's safe to say that Taylor Pyatt probably won't be missed even if he happens to be claimed by another team. It's more likely that he passes through waivers untouched, at which point he would head to AHL Hartford.

Pyatt's Days In New York Could Be Numbered

News: Taylor Pyatt will serve as a healthy scratch in Wednesday's tilt against the visiting Penguins, reports Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record.
Analysis: With the holiday roster freeze (December 19-27) fast approaching, more worrisome to Taylor Pyatt's status with the team is that he was called out by his head coach for failing to lock down a top-six forward spot when given an opportunity. Gross also reports Pyatt was seen talking with Rangers' GM Glen Sather, but did not speculate definitively what that may or may not mean for the recently concussed forward. Pyatt, who could be nearing an AHL demotion, trade designation or possibly an outright release, has just one assist and a minus-9 rating in 22 games played this season.

Rangers' Pyatt Scratched

News: Taylor Pyatt is a scratch for Tuesday's game against the Predators.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt has not been much of a fantasy contributor this season, registering just one point and a minus-9 rating.

Rangers' Pyatt Back In LineupThursday

News: Taylor Pyatt will be back in the lineup on Thursday due to Derek Dorsett's wrist injury.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt recently came off of injured reserve himself after suffering a concussion. He didn't play in either of the last two games, and it seems likely he will lose his spot again when Dorsett returns.

Rangers' Pyatt Activated From IR

News: Taylor Pyatt (concussion) was officially activated from injured reserve Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt took part in contact drills Tuesday for the first time since suffering a concussion back on Nov. 11. It seems, however, that Pyatt is ready to return to action after just one contact practice, though the Rangers still have not said definitively whether he will play Wednesday against Florida.

Rangers' Pyatt Practices With Contact

News: Taylor Pyatt went through contact drills Tuesday, reports Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record.
Analysis: It's the first time Taylor Pyatt has done so since his concussion earlier this month. The news also forced head coach Alain Vingeault to send spare forward J.T. Miller to Hartford of the AHL for more consistent playing time. On the second year of his two-year deal, we can't help but speculate that Pyatt's days on Broadway will be numbered, as the Rangers have other third-line options and Pyatt hasn't regained the scoring touch he once had while skating for Alain Vigneault in Vancouver.

Rangers' Pyatt Returns To Team

News: Taylor Pyatt skated with the team at practice on Sunday, reports Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record.
Analysis: Taylor Pyatt, who has missed 7 games due to concussion symptoms, could be nearing a return to availability. Based on pre-symptoms production, the team isn't missing much offensively from the winger and not likely to rush him back. Regardless, the former eighth overall pick (1999) has no fantasy relevance at this time.

Rangers' Pyatt Not At Practice

News: Taylor Pyatt (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: The winger skated on his own Tuesday, but has yet to return to the ice for a full practice. Once he's cleared for contact we'll have a better timetable for him, but it's tough to predict, especially when dealing with concussions.

Rangers' Pyatt Skates Tuesday

News: Taylor Pyatt (concussion) skated at practice Tuesday, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
Analysis: This was his first time back on the ice since suffering the concussion. Taylor Pyatt's been out more than a week, and there doesn't appear to be any timeline for his return, but he at least is making some progress.

Rangers Pyatt Concussed

News: Taylor Pyatt has suffered a concussion according to Rangers coach Alain Vigneault.
Analysis: No other information has been given regarding the injury Taylor Pyatt suffered during Thursday night's game after he took a shoulder to the head from the Blue Jackets' Fedor Tyutin. He's officially out indefinitely but may avoid a trip to injured reserve if he can progress quickly in the coming days.

Rangers' Pyatt Leaves With Head Injury

News: Taylor Pyatt left Thursday's game with an apparent head injury, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: The injury occurred when the Blue Jackets' Fedor Tyutin barreled his shoulder into Taylor Pyatt's head, sending the forward staggering to the dressing room. The Rangers will evaluate him for a possible concussion over the next couple of days.

Rangers, Pyatt Shut Out In Jersey

News: Taylor Pyatt logged nearly 19 minutes of total ice time, registering a minus-1 with one hit and one shot on goal in Saturday's 4-0 loss to New Jersey.
Analysis: More noteworthy was Taylor Pyatt's place in the pecking order, forming the team's first line with Derick Brassard and Brad Richards. Pyatt, who logged three minutes (two power-play) of special teams play as well, will need to step things up if he's going to continue filling in for the injured Ryan Callahan.
