Canucks' Sedin Tallies Two Assists In Finale

News: Henrik Sedin assisted on both of his brother Daniel's two goals in Sunday's season finale against Calgary.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin finished the season strong, tallying nine points (one goal, eight assists) in his final nine games. Overall, it was a disappointing campaign for the Swedish center, who finished with only 11 goals and 50 points in 70 games. It was a down year for most Canucks players, but Sedin took quite a hit, producing his lowest full-season point total since the 2003-04 campaign. At least he finished on a good note.

Canucks' H. Sedin Scores In Thursday's Loss

News: Henrik Sedin opened the scoring at 13:52 of the first period Thursday, but the Canucks eventually fell 4-2 to the Avs.
Analysis: It was his 11th goal and 48th point in 68 games this season. Brother Daniel grabbed an assist on the play, marking the first time since December 14 versus the Bruins that the twins have hooked up for a goal. It's hard to say at this point if age is finally playing a factor in the once-elite Swedish duo's performance, or if their lower point totals can be chalked up to injuries and the Canucks' offensive woes as a whole. No matter the reason, both Henrik and Daniel are destined to fall even more in next year's draft rankings.

H. Sedin Returns To Canucks' Lineup

News: Henrik Sedin collected a power-play assist in return to action Saturday in a 2-1 win over the Kings. He skated 19:57, including 5:46 on the man advantage.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin had been out for nearly two weeks, having last played March 23. If you had benched him because of his leg injury, it's time to reinstate him in your lineup.

Canucks' Sedin Back In Saturday

Canucks' Sedin Could Return Saturday

News: Head coach John Tortorella believes Henrik Sedin (leg) will be able to play in Saturday's game against the Kings.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin has not played since Mar. 23 due to his leg injury, but it appears he could return to the ice Saturday. Expect another update on Sedin's status prior to the beginning of Saturday's game.

Canucks' H. Sedin Back At Practice Wednesday

News: Henrik Sedin (knee) was back at practice on Wednesday, skating on a line with Chris Higgins and Nicklas Jensen, the Vancouver Province's Jim Jamieson reports.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin has missed the past four games due to injury, but appears close to returning, with head coach John Tortorella suggesting the forward could return as early as Saturday. It has been a very disappointing season for Sedin, who only has 46 points in 65 games. The Canucks are out of the playoff race, but Sedin could be useful when he returns, as he had five points in his last four games before getting injured.

Canucks' H. Sedin Ruled Out Of Road Trip

News: Coach John Tortorella said that Henrik Sedin (leg) will be out for at least the team's two-game road trip beginning Wednesday, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Tortorella said that Henrik Sedin was being treated as day-to-day, but reports Monday suggesting that the center would miss two weeks seem to carry more weight as far as a timetable goes. Sedin will need to get back on the ice for practices before a return to the lineup can be considered imminent.

Canucks' Sedin Expected To Miss Two Weeks

News: Henrik Sedin (leg) is expected to miss the next two weeks, Renaud Lavoie of Journal de Montreal reports.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin limped off during Sunday's game against the Sabres. The Canucks just got Henrik's brother Daniel Sedin back from an injury, but now they'll be without their best playmaking center. Henrik racked up 10 goals and 36 assists in 65 games before getting hurt.

Canucks' Henrik Sedin Exits Sunday's Game

News: Henrik Sedin injured his left leg in second period of Sunday's game against the Sabres, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: More on Henrik Sedin's status as we know it, but NHL.com notes that the forward couldn't put much weight on his leg as he limped to the locker room in the second period.

Canucks' Sedin Getting Back On Track

News: Henrik Sedin collected two assists in Wednesday's win over Nashville. He now has five points in his last three games.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin is finally heating up after going 11 straight games without a point. The addition of rookie Nicklas Jensen to his line seems to have given the 33-year-old a spark. Sedin now has 10 goals and 46 points in 64 games on the season, to go with a plus-7 rating.

Canucks' Sedin Adds To Assist Total

News: Henrik Sedin dished out a pair of assists in Sunday's shootout win over Florida.
Analysis: While it's nice to see Hank on the scoresheet, these are not good times for Henrik Sedin fantasy owners. Henrik only has three points in his last 16 games, putting him on pace for a 50-point season, which would be his lowest full-season total since 2003-2004.

Canucks' Sedin Ends Scoring Drought

News: Henrik Sedin scored his 10th goal of the season in Monday's loss to the Islanders, ending an 11-game scoring drought.
Analysis: Though Henrik Sedin finally recorded a point, the goal was his just his first tally in 24 games. He is struggling right now, but maybe this goal is a sign of things to come for the 33-year-old. He had a decent outing on Monday, dishing out a season-high four hits, while logging 20:46 of ice time. On the year, Sedin has amassed 41 points in 59 games.

Canucks' Sedin Held Off Scoresheet Yet Again

News: Henrik Sedin was held off the scoresheet in Thursday's loss to Dallas, marking the 11th straight game the 33-year-old has gone without recording a point.
Analysis: To say Henrik Sedin has been a disappointment would be an understatement, as the Canucks' captain hasn't been this ineffective since his first few seasons in the NHL. With the loss on Thursday, the Canucks have now dropped 11 of their last 12 games. "Its embarrassing to be standing here after every loss," Sedin said. To make matters worse, his brother Daniel is currently out of the lineup with a hamstring injury and isn't expected to return for about three weeks. It doesn't get much worse for Sedin fantasy owners. You know what they say though, once you hit rock bottom, there is nowhere to go but up.

Canucks' Sedin Returns Against Blues

News: Henrik Sedin returned to action Wednesday against the Blues, logging 19:34 of ice time.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin had been sidelined with a rib injury, and was unable to participate in the Olympics for Team Sweden. He has nine goals and 31 assists through 53 games this season. He failed to register on the scoresheet against the Blues though, marking the seventh straight game he has been held without a point.

Canucks' Sedin Expected To Play Wednesday

News: Henrik Sedin is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday against the Blues, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin is traveling back to Vancouver from Sweden on Wednesday, but is expected to be back in time for the game. It's probably a safe bet to start him in fantasy leagues, but there's always a chance he might get delayed and not make it back in time.

Canucks' H. Sedin Will Return Wednesday

News: Coach John Tortorella confirmed Henrik Sedin (ribs) will be back in the lineup Wednesday against the Blues, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin has been absent the past two days of practice for personal reasons and entered the Olympic break nursing a rib injury that had sidelined him eight of the previous 10 games, but he's apparently in the clear on both fronts now. Though he wasn't able to take part in the Olympics for the silver-medal-winning Swedish team, Sedin contends he made the right decision. The added rest can only help his production in what has been an otherwise disappointing season.

Canucks' H. Sedin Takes Another Personal Day

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) was once again away from Tuesday's practice due to family reasons, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: With everything regarding the rib injury that kept Henrik Sedin out of the Olympics sounding positive thus far, it would seem the forward's personal life is the bigger threat to keep him out of Wednesday's game against the Blues. Coach John Tortorella hasn't declared one way or another whether Sedin will be available Wednesday, but it should become apparent during that day's morning skate.

Canucks' Sedin Not At Practice Monday

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) missed Monday's practice for family reasons, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin had to miss playing in the Olympics because of a rib injury, but was able to return to practice Friday. His absence Monday is apparently unrelated to the injury, so he is still expected to be available Wednesday when the team returns to action against the Blues.

Canucks' H. Sedin Returns To Practice

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) returned to practice Friday, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin opted out of playing for Sweden in the Winter Olympics after he appeared visibly limited with the Canucks upon returning from the rib injury a week before the break. Despite watching his home country advance to the gold medal game without him, Sedin stands by the decision to rest during the break, and believes he is close to 100 percent healthy now. He expects to play when the Canucks return to action Wednesday against the Blues.

Canucks' H. Sedin Now Ruled Out For Olympics

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) will not play for Sweden in the upcoming Winter Olympics, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis: Coach John Tortorella ruled Henrik Sedin out for the final two games before the break after the forward looked sluggish in his two games since returning to the lineup, and it now appears he'll take some further therapy time to allow the injury to properly heal. Missing the Olympics certainly comes as a disappointment for Sedin, but taking the three weeks to recover should keep him at full strength down the stretch as the Canucks look to solidify a playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Canucks To Sit Sedin Until Break

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) will miss the Canucks' final two games before the upcoming Olympic break, NHL.com reports. "We are shutting Henrik down for the next two games," coach John Tortorella said Thursday. "He wants to play, but he's not as effective as we need him to be right now."
Analysis: Henrik Sedin, who recently returned to the lineup after missing six games, will thus be unavailable for the Canucks' games against the Canadiens on Thursday and Maple Leafs on Saturday.

Canucks' H. Sedin Held Scoreless Since Returning

News: Henrik Sedin has been held without a point in his two games since returning from a rib injury.
Analysis: While it's not unusual for a player even of Henrik Sedin's caliber to fall into a minor scoring slump like this, what's more troubling is that he failed to register a single shot on goal in either of the two games, despite seeing his typical amount of ice time. The Canucks were hoping Sedin's return would bolster their floundering offense; instead, they've mustered just one goal with him back in the lineup, extending their losing streak to five games. Once he's further removed from the rib injury, perhaps Sedin's production will pick up, but for now, it might be tough to count on him to give a major lift to your fantasy team.

Canucks' Sedin Will Play Monday

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) will play Monday against the Red Wings.

Canucks' Sedin Logs Full Practice Sunday

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) was a full participant in Sunday's practice, Craig Custance of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Everything went smoothly for Henrik Sedin in his first full practice since suffering the injury Jan. 18, though his status for Monday's game against the Red Wings is still up in the air. If the team has any reservations about Sedin's health, they could hold him out, but a return at some point next week seems like a foregone conclusion.

Canucks' H. Sedin Gets In A Skate Saturday

News: Henrik Sedin (ribs) was able to skate on his own Saturday morning, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: Henrik Sedin departed with the rest of the team for Detroit after the session and will look to fit in a practice with his teammates on Sunday. Depending on how that goes, he could be an option for Monday's game vs. the Red Wings.
