Canucks' Vrbata Contributes Two Assists

News: Radim Vrbata collected a pair of assists and scored in the shootout in Sunday's win over the Blues.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata now has 22 goals and 44 points in 59 games on the season. While he's skating on the second line and has just one goal in his last eight games, he's still playing on the top power-play unit and is skating with Nick Bonino at even strength. The 33-year-old talented sniper will find ways to produce points no matter what, and as long as he keeps shooting, the goals will soon follow.

Canucks' Vrbata Pots 22nd Goal

News: Radim Vrbata scored his 22nd goal of the season and had an assist in Sunday's win over the Islanders.
Analysis: The two-point outburst snapped a four-game pointless drought for Radim Vrbata, who is now playing on the second line with Chris Higgins. Vrbata is leading the Canucks in goals and already has more goals than he had in all of last season with Arizona (20). While he may not be playing with the Sedin twins at even strength, Vrbata is playing on the top power-play unit and should keep producing down the stretch.

Canucks' Vrbata Continues Streak

News: Radim Vrbata extended his point streak to seven games Wednesday, assisting on Linden Vey's first-period marker. The winger has compiled two goals and six assists during the scoring surge.
Analysis: Perhaps what's most notable about Radim Vrbata's ongoing excellence is that the last few games have come without the 33-year-old playing alongside the Sedin twins, as coach Willie Desjardins has elevated Alex Burrows to the top trio. Vrbata was stationed next to Linden Vey and Chris Higgins on the second line Wednesday and didn't seem too affected by the downgrade in quality of his mates, as he was able to fire off four shot attempts to remain on fire.

News: Radim Vrbata's 20th goal of the season was the only one scored by the Canucks in Thursday's loss to the Sharks.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata has now hit the 20-goal mark in five of his last six full seasons. The 33-year-old is currently riding a four-game point streak, giving him 35 points in 47 games on the season. While he's currently not a member of the Sedin line, Vrbata is still playing on the second line with the talented Nick Bonino, in addition to seeing top unit power-play time with the twins. Keep him rolling.

News: Radim Vrbata extended his point streak to three games with an assist in Tuesday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata has compiled a goal, two assists, and 13 shots on goal during the streak. Thanks to a deployment on the top line with the Sedin twins in his first season in Vancouver, Vrbata looks poised to finish with his highest point total since 2011-12.

Canucks' Vrbata Adds Marker Monday

News: Radim Vrbata supplied a goal on his two shots in Monday's win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata continues to serve as the Canucks' top sniper, as his 18 goals this season lead the team. He hasn't been able to uphold the point-per-game pace he raced off to in October, but Vrbata still provide s offense with enough regularity to make him roster-worthy in just about any format.

Canucks' Vrbata (Illness) Back In Thursday

News: Radim Vrbata (illness) will play Thursday against the Panthers.
Analysis: The illness kept Radim Vrbata out of the lineup for one game, but he was cleared to resume playing after taking part in Thursday's optional gameday skate. A top-line role will not be awaiting Vrbata upon his return, however, as coach Willie Desjardins recently decided to bump him to the second trio with Chris Higgins and Nick Bonino. Alex Burrows gets the appointment next to the Sedin twins in Vrbata's place.

Canucks' Vrbata (Illness) Expected Back Thursday

News: Radim Vrbata (illness) is expected to play Thursday against the Panthers.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata was absent from Wednesday's practice, so his status for Thursday's game probably won't be confirmed until his participation is verified during the Canucks' gameday skate. Linden Vey entered the lineup Tuesday against the Islanders when the illness kept him unavailable.

News: Radim Vrbata will miss Tuesday's game against the Islanders due to an illness, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata appeared set to play after taking part in the team's morning skate, but the illness presumably surfaced in the afternoon and will force him to the press box. Linden Vey enters the lineup in his stead, while Alex Burrows claims Vrbata's perch on the top line with the Sedin twins.

Canucks' Vrbata Finds Twine Twice

News: Radim Vrbata potted a pair of goals -- both on the power play -- in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Oilers. He skated to a plus-1 and fired four shots on goal.
Analysis: The chemistry continues for Radim Vrbata and the Sedin twins, who combined for three assists on Vrbata's two power-play markers. Vrbata is up to eight goals and 15 points in 17 games this year, and appears to be one of the better values -- along with Daniel Sedin -- in fantasy hockey through the season's quarter pole.

Vrbata (Leg) Expected To Play Friday

News: Radim Vrbata (leg) practiced Friday morning and is expected to play against the Coyotes.

Canucks' Vrbata Returns To Practice Thursday

News: Radim Vrbata (leg) returned to practice Thursday, rejoining Henrik and Daniel Sedin on the top line, the Vancouver Province's Jason Botchford reports.
Analysis: The fact Radim Vrbata is back practicing and cleared for contact would suggest that he may return Friday against Arizona. The 33-year-old has missed the last two games with a lower body-injury sustained last week in a win over San Jose. Through 15 games, the top-line winger has been a terrific fit in Vancouver, notching six goals and 13 points. With Vrbata back on the top line at practice, Jannik Hansen was demoted to the fourth line.

Canucks' Vrbata Ruled Out Tuesday

News: Radim Vrbata (leg) will not play Tuesday against the Senators, Elliott Pap of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: None of the Canucks' five injured skaters felt well enough to take part in the team's morning skate, so coach Willie Desjardins will stick with the same lineup he used Sunday against the Ducks. With Radim Vrbata unavailable, Jannik Hansen is expected to join the Sedin twins on the top line once again.

Canucks' Vrbata Out With Leg Injury Sunday

News: Radim Vrbata will miss Sunday's game against the Ducks with a lingering leg injury, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata has been bothered by the injury since Thursday, but managed to play through the pain in Saturday's loss to the Kings. However, in an effort to prevent the issue from worsening, Vrbata will sit out the second game of the Canucks' weekend back-to-back, but it doesn't appear likely that a long-term absence is in store. After the game against the Ducks, the Canucks won't play again until next Friday, which should offer Vrbata ample time to nurse himself back to full health.

Analysis: Radim Vrbata was able to bag his sixth goal of the season and finished with 15:30 of ice time, despite being in the locker room for a decent chunk of the contest. It doesn't sound like injury is particularly worrisome for Vrbata, but the forward could be given Friday's practice off to further aid his recovery.

News: Radim Vrbata picked up a power-play assist in Thursday's win over the Blues. He has opened the season with seven points (four goals) in his first six games.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata, who has fit in seamlessly with Vancouver, is tied for the NHL-lead with two-game winning goals and has been credited with an impressive 28 shots on goal in just six games. Vrbata shows no sign of slowing down, and with the Sedin twins as his linemates, expect him to keep shooting and to keep scoring.
