Wings' Zetterberg Picks Up First Postseason Point

News: Henrik Zetterberg picked up his first point of the postseason Tuesday, assisting on Riley Sheahan's third-period power-play goal in the 3-0 victory over the Lightning.
Analysis: Even at the ripe age of 34, Henrik Zetterberg continues to drive the Red Wings' attack, though he's not nearly the goal scorer he was earlier in his prime. His 17 goals during the regular season was the second-lowest output of his career during a year in which he played at least 60 games, and he's found twine just three times since the All-Star break.

Wings' Zetterberg To Miss Season Finale

News: The Red Wings will rest Henrik Zetterberg for Saturday's game against Carolina, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Saturday's game doesn't have much significance, so Detroit will give the winger a game off to keep him sharp for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Zetterberg Assists Twice For WIngs

News: Henrik Zetterberg posted up his second consecutive two-point game Thursday, assisting twice in a 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: A tough loss for the Wings, but it's got to be good for them to see Henrik Zetterberg heating up as the playoffs approach, particularly because it looks like they'll need the offense to cover for their inconsistent goaltenders.

Wings' Zetterberg Busts Out Of Slump

News: Henrik Zetterberg potted a power-play goal and assisted on the game-winner Tuesday against Carolina.
Analysis: He'd been cold recently, with just a single assist over the last seven games, but Zetter bounced back nicely in this one, providing crucial offense for the Wings as they try to establish their spot in the playoff race. Keep him rolling as the season winds down -- he's way too talented to bench.

Wings' Zetterberg Goes Cold

News: Henrik Zetterberg was held off the scoresheet Thursday for the fifth straight game and the eighth time in nine contests.
Analysis: The Red Wings have been struggling mightily as of late, and Henrik Zetterberg's game has been off as well. A player of his talent won't be held down too much longer, but it couldn't be coming at a worse time for fantasy owners.

Two Helpers For Wings' Zetterberg

News: Henrik Zetterberg picked up two assists -- one on the man advantage -- but finished minus-2 in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Arizona.
Analysis: The negative rating is a bummer, but this still ends a three-game stretch off the scoresheet for Zetter. Thanks to a relatively healthy campaign, he's now cleared 60 points for the eighth time in his career, so being 34 years old is not slowing him down.

Wings' Zetterberg Picks Up Two More Points

News: Henrik Zetterberg tallied a goal and an assist in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg has been on an absolute tear since the calendar flipped to March, collecting a goal and nine assists in just seven games. He's on his way to another 70-point game, and should be rolled out with confidence.

Wings' Zetterberg Collects Three More Points

News: Henrik Zetterberg dished out three assists in Monday's 5-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: After being blanked Sunday, Henrik Zetterberg returned to the score sheet for his third multi-point outing in his last four contests. The 34-year-old hasn't found the back of the net since January, but he's more than made up for that with his 11 helpers in that 13 game stretch. The veteran winger is well on his way to his eighth career 60-point season.

Back-To-Back Two-Point Games For Wings' Zetterberg

News: Henrik Zetterberg chipped in a pair of assists for the second game in a row in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: He and Erik Cole both tallied helpers on Justin Abdelkader's first-period goals. "Z" has piled up two assists in both of the games since returning from an upper-body injury and appears to be as strong a fantasy play as any for the home stretch of the season -- as long as he stays healthy, of course.

Wings' Zetterberg Adds Two Assists In Win

News: Henrik Zetterberg tallied two assists in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: The star center set up Justin Abdelkader with a beautiful backhand pass to open the scoring in the first period, and found the score sheet again on Marek Zidlicky's overtime winner. Henrik Zetterberg now has 15 goals and 36 assists through 58 games on the year.

News: Per the team's official site, Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) is no longer listed on IR by the Red Wings.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg is thus slated to return to action Wednesday against the Rangers, centering a line with Justin Abdelkader and newcomer Erik Cole.

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) has been cleared to play Wednesday against the Rangers, Ansar Khan of MLive reports.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg, who is thus on track to be taken of the Wings' IR list in advance of Wednesday's contest, last suited up for the team on Feb. 21.

Wings' Zetterberg Poised To Return

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) is slated to undergo some final tests Wednesday afternoon in order to gain clearance for the Wings' evening contest against the Rangers, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports.
Analysis: While it sounds like Henrik Zetterberg is likely to be a go on Wednesday, pending the results of his tests, MLive.com's Ansar Khan relays that Daniel Cleary would be in line to play Wednesday night if Zetterberg isn't cleared to do so.

Wings' Zetterberg (Upper Body) Likely To Return

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) will likely return to the lineup Wednesday against the Rangers, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg's upper-body injury could have been a concussion, as he showed symptoms of the ailment, but he hasn't dressed for a game since Feb. 21. It appears that streak will end Wednesday, as he looks to be ready. The veteran winger has accumulated 49 points over 57 games this season, and will look to add to that total Wednesday.

Wings' Zetterberg Progresses

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) practiced Monday, Chuck Pleiness of the Macomb Daily reports.
Analysis: The report suggests that Henrik Zetterberg's practice participation Monday is a good sign that the forward could return to action Wednesday against the Rangers. Zetterberg last suited up for the Wings on Feb. 21.

Red Wings' Zetterberg Placed On IR

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg, who missed his third straight game with the upper-body injury Saturday, will be eligible to return for the Red Wings' next match Wednesday versus the Rangers. While the team hasn't announced that Zetterberg has a concussion, the forward noted that he's experiencing symptoms similar to the head injury, which could threaten his availability for Wednesday's game. Coach Mike Babcock expressed optimism earlier in the week that Zetterberg will be ready to go by that point, but he'll need to get back on the ice in the next couple of days in order to give his coach's words some legitimacy.

Red Wings' Zetterberg Not Expected Until Next Week

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) isn't expected to return to the Red Wings lineup until next Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg was able to skate a little bit on his own prior to Thursday's morning session, but it appears the team is preparing to be without him for the next two weeks. Though he hasn't been formally diagnosed with a concussion, Zetterberg said a couple days ago that he's exhibited symptoms similar to the head injury. The team believes that with a few more days of light activity, he'll be feeling fully healthy and ready to play. Continue to stash him on your bench until the Red Wings confirm he'll return to duty.

Red Wings' Zetterberg Has Concussion Symptoms

News: Henrik Zetterberg said he hasn't shown any improvement with his head injury over the last three days and continues to experience concussion-like symptoms, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports. He's been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Kings.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg didn't confirm that he had a concussion, but he essentially implied as much by acknowledging the symptoms. He suffered the head injury when he took a punch from Jamie Benn in Saturday's overtime win over the Stars. Zetterberg doesn't have a history of concussions or head injuries, so he's hopeful to avoid a long-term absence. Riley Sheahan has slid into a top-six role to cover for Zetterberg's absence in the meantime.

Wings' Zetterberg Out Monday

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) is not playing in Monday's game and is doubtful for Tuesday's contest, Ansar Khan of MLive reports.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg's injury is not believed to be a concussion, but Detroit really doesn't want him to aggravate anything for the stretch run. He may be back in the lineup Thursday, but he'll need to get a practice in first.

Wings' Zetterberg (Upper Body) Unlikely To Play

News: With no morning skate for the Red Wings on Monday and Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) not having skated since leaving Saturday's game, he is doubtful for Monday's tilt with Anaheim, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg could still play Monday, but Detroit has been mum on his status since his injury Saturday. The Red Wings are likely to err on the side of caution with their star, so it is probably best to find another forward for Monday's games.

Wings' Zetterberg (Upper Body) Questionable Monday

News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) did not practice Sunday and will be re-valuated Monday to determine availability for the game against the Ducks, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg exited Saturday's game early due to the upper-body injury and did not return. It appears the injury isn't too serious, but more information should become available after he is re-evaluated Monday.

Wings' Zetterberg Leaves With Upper Body Injury

News: Henrik Zetterberg left Saturday's game with an upper body injury and will not return, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports.

Detroit's Zetterberg Picks Up Assist

News: Henrik Zetterberg tallied his 33rd assist of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 defeat at the hands of Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg continues to be a consistent fantasy force, as he has 12 points in his last nine games. He tends to avoid slumps and should be starting on a nightly basis.

Wings' Zetterberg Notches PP Assist In Win

News: Henrik Zetterberg notched a power-play assist and logged five shot attempts in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Avalanche.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg found Justin Abdelkader near the crease for the game's first goal, giving him his second assist in as many games. With his health holding up this season, Zetterberg has delivered his usual excellence, potting 15 goals and dishing out 32 assists across 51 games.

Wings' Zetterberg Blows Up For Three More Points

News: For an encore to Sunday's hat trick, Henrik Zetterberg delivered a hat trick of assists and went plus-2 with two PIM Tuesday in a shootout win over Minnesota.
Analysis: One of the helpers came on the power play, where Zetter has accumulated four of his whopping eight points over the last three games. The guy has absolutely lit on fire and enters the All-Star break just three points shy of a point-per-game pace, having tallied with 14 goals and 30 helpers in 47 contests. Assuming he can stay healthy, Henrik Zetterberg should return to his old 70-point level and might even hit 80.
