Preds' Ribeiro Pots Goal In Win

News: Mike Ribeiro potted a power-play goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro has gotten back into a groove lately as he's registered five points in his last five contests and seven in his last nine. The goal gives the 35-year-old his ninth 50-point season, but first since 2011-12.

Two Helpers For Preds' RIbeiro

News: Mike Ribeiro rattled off a pair of assists and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.
Analysis: That's three helpers in the last two games for the veteran pivot, who'd collected just two points in the prior eight contests. Now that he's pulling out of it, he's again safe to deploy in fantasy lineups, although his owners probably stuck with him through the slump anyway.

Preds' Ribeiro Nearing Last Season's Point Total

News: Mike Ribeiro assisted on Colin Wilson's game-winning goal late in the third period of Saturday's match against the Devils.
Analysis: There have been fewer better bargains in hockey this season than Mike Ribeiro, who was forced to settle for a modest one-year, $1.05 million contract with the Preds in the summer after burning bridges with management in Arizona. Suffice to say, he's found a home under the leadership of Peter Laviolette, who plugged Ribeiro into a top-line role from Day 1 and has been reaping the dividends ever since. The 35-year-old ranks 10th in the league with 35 assists, and has an outside chance at reaching the 70-point mark for the first time since his prime years with the Stars.

Preds' Ribeiro Piles On PIM

News: Mike Ribeiro took a break from scoring Friday, racking up 22 PIM in a loss to Colorado.
Analysis: While Mike Ribeiro has 43 points (33 assists) in 48 games this season, he is also now among the league's top-100 PIM leaders. Producing at basically a point-per-game pace and sporting a steady plus-15 rating, Ribeiro is worth owning in most formats.

Preds' Ribeiro Dishing Again Tuesday

News: Mike Ribeiro dished out three assists and went plus-2 in Tuesday's win over Colorado.
Analysis: In an unusual stretch for him, Mike Ribeiro had gone three straight games without an assist, though he had tallied a goal in the Preds' final game before the All-Star break. He continues to be one of the more productive options at center, so keep rolling him out if you've got him.

Preds' Ribeiro Snaps Goal Drought

News: Mike Ribeiro accounted for the whole of the Preds' offense with his first goal since Dec. 16 in Tuesday's overtime loss to Montreal.
Analysis: Despite his typical lack of goals -- in fact, he'd actually finished without even a shot on goal in five of the prior seven games -- Mike Ribeiro has dished out plenty of assists to retain his typically solid fantasy value this year. He could hit 50 assists with a goal total in the high teens, which would add up to yet another terrific campaign for the crafty veteran center. Now if only he could win more draws -- he lost 12 of 16 Tuesday. This year's .424 winning percentage is among the lowest he's posted, and Ribeiro was never a good faceoff man in the first place.

Ribeiro Notches Two Helpers For Preds

News: Mike Ribeiro picked up a pair of assists (one on the power play) to go with two PIM and a plus-1 rating Tuesday in a win over the Canucks.
Analysis: As usual, Mike Ribeiro's been an assist machine. Despite some game-to-game inconsistency lately, he's still collected 10 points -- all helpers -- over his last nine games. He hasn't taken a shot on goal in three of those games, and he's taken just one shot in another three, but hey, you don't need to shoot to rack up assists.

Preds' Ribeiro Dishes Out Three Assists

News: Mike Ribeiro collected three assists -- two on the power play -- in Sunday's loss to Anaheim.
Analysis: Another great fantasy outing from Mike Ribeiro, who now has seven points (all assists) in his last five games. The 34-year-old is up to nine goals and 35 points in 38 games on the season, to go with a plus-14 rating. He's been a fantasy stud in Nashville, appearing on the scoresheet in 12 of his last 16 games. His consistency and 75-point potential makes him a must-own in almost every league.

Preds' Ribeiro Sets Up Two In Win

News: Mike Ribeiro notched two assists and fired off three shot attempts in Saturday's wild 7-6 victory over the Predators.
Analysis: It's unsurprising that the Preds' top-line center was prominently involved in a game that eight players turn in multi-point showings. Mike Ribeiro has sparked the Preds' reemerge as a Western Conference contender this season, setting up star wingers Filip Forsberg and James Neal with great proficiency. He's recorded four assists over his last four games to up his season total to a team-leading 23.

Preds' Ribeiro Assists In Win Over Jackets

News: Mike Ribeiro notched an assist during Monday's 5-1 romp over the Blue Jackets, giving him 10 points in his last 11 games.
Analysis: With 28 points in 32 games this season, Mike Ribeiro has been a key factor in the Preds' resurgence this year. He is on pace for his best season since his 71-point campaign with Dallas back in 2010-11. He needs to be in your fantasy lineup every time he hits the ice.

Preds' Ribeiro Plays King Of Garbage Time

News: Mike Ribeiro picked up assists on both the Preds' empty-net goals Tuesday in a 3-0 win over Colorado.
Analysis: It sure is easier to collect points when those pesky netminders aren't blocking the way. That said, Mike Ribeiro hasn't had a big problem producing offense this year, as he owns 24 points in 27 games thus far and has racked up three goals and four helpers over his last five contests.

Preds' Ribeiro Racks Up Three Points

News: Mike Ribeiro scored a goal, handed out a pair of primary assists, went plus-2 and picked up a minor penalty Thursday against the Blues.
Analysis: He was involved in each of the Preds' first three goals as they ruined the Blues debut of Martin Brodeur. That's three straight games with a goal for Mike Ribeiro, who's generally better known for his passing skills. With 22 points in 25 games now, he's on his best scoring pace since 2008-09, when he tallied 78 points for the Stars.

Preds' Ribeiro Scores In Win Over Jackets

News: Mike Ribeiro saw a three-game pointless streak come to an end after scoring a first-period goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over Columbus.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro's scoring pace may have cooled down from earlier in November (nine points in nine games), but he's still a dynamite fantasy play. He continues to skate on the Preds' first line with James Neal and rookie Filip Forsberg, so the scoring opportunities should remain extremely plentiful going forward. Keep him rolling.

Preds' Ribeiro Notches Two Points

News: Mike Ribeiro scored a goal and added an assist Tuesday, finishing plus-2 in a 9-2 massacre of the Leafs.
Analysis: He struggled mightily on faceoffs, winning just eight of 24, but the veteran center continues to find the scoresheet with regularity. He's only failed to register a point three times in his last 16 games and has been particularly good lately, with six points and a plus-8 rating in his last five contests. All this despite extremely limited special-teams production -- Mike Ribeiro hasn't collected a point on the man advantage since Oct. 18 despite averaging more than three minutes per game on the power play this season.

Preds' Ribeiro Scores, Assists In Win

News: Mike Ribeiro scored his fourth goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Although the veteran center hasn't exceeded one shot on goal in any of the last five games, he's nonetheless racked up five points and a plus-5 rating in that span. The goals will remain a blessed rarity unless Mike Ribeiro finds a way to shoot the puck more -- not a development that we can expect from him at age 34.

Preds' Ribeiro Thriving On First Line

News: Mike Ribeiro added an assist - his third in as many games and ninth point of the season - during Sunday's win over Vancouver.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro is really thriving in his new surroundings this season, centering the Preds' first line in between James Neal and Filip Forsberg. Keep him rolling while he's hot.

Two Points For Preds' Ribeiro

News: Mike Ribeiro picked up his third goal of the year and added an assist in Tuesday's shootout win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: A nice night for the veteran against the Coyotes, with whom he spent a disappointing 2013-14 season. That's also four straight games with a point for Mike Ribeiro after he opened the year with a pair of scoreless outings.

Preds' Ribeiro Gets On The Board Tuesday

News: Mike Ribeiro scored the game-tying goal in an eventual shootout loss to the Flames on Tuesday.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro was the beneficiary of a Craig Smith shot that ricocheted off a pack of players to an opening at the right post, where the center slapped home the puck for the score. Bought out by the Coyotes in the offseason after a falling out with team brass, Ribeiro should fit in better with the Predators, where his fantasy production could improve while he sees time next to winger James Neal.

Ribeiro Likely Candidate For Preds' Top Line

News: Mike Ribeiro is a likely candidate to center the Predators' top line this season alongside James Neal, The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro and Neal were teammates in Dallas for three seasons (2008-2011) prior to the trade that sent Neal to Pittsburgh, so it makes sense for the Preds to try and re-create whatever chemistry may have existed between the two back then. In fact, Ribeiro's two best seasons came during this period (83 points in 2007-08 and 78 points in 2008-09), however don't expect him to put up similar numbers with his new team. We think a 50-point season is within his reach, with upside to 60+ if all goes well.

Predators Sign Ribeiro To One-Year Deal

News: Mike Ribeiro signed a one-year, $1.05 million contract with the Predators on Tuesday, The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: The veteran was recently bought out by the Coyotes after notching 47 points in 80 games last season. At 35, his best days are behind him, but Nashville believes he'll still be a valuable asset next season. "Mike is a talented veteran center who has produced offensively everywhere he has played," Predators general manager David Poile said. "We have done our due diligence and believe Mike has a lot to offer to our team, improves us at our center ice position and will fit in with our group and contribute."

Coyotes Buy Out Remainder Of Ribeiro's Contract

News: Mike Ribeiro's contract was bought out by the Coyotes on Friday.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro spent one season with the Coyotes before having his contract bought out by the team due to a lack of production. In 2013-14, the veteran center tallied just 47 total points (16 goals and 31 assists), which the team must have felt was not enough to earn the remaining three years of his contract.

Coyotes' Ribeiro Scores In Loss

News: Mike Ribeiro scored his 16th goal of the season Saturday in a loss to the Sharks. He was plus-1 on the night.
Analysis: It has been a disappointing season for Mike Ribeiro who has 47 points and a minus-13 rating. He never seemed to be able to find chemistry with his wingers and only added 15 points on the power play, which is where Phoenix was hoping he would help the most. Depending on offseason changes, however, this could make him a bit of a sleeper next year.

Coyotes' Ribeiro A Likely Scratch Again

News: Mike Ribeiro will likely be a healthy scratch Thursday against the Devils, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: If that's indeed the case, it would be the second straight game Mike Ribeiro will head to the press box, after playing in all 72 of the Coyotes' games before Tuesday's contest against the Penguins. Jeff Halpern assumed most of Ribeiro's minutes as the third-line center Tuesday and would seem poised to do so again.

Coyotes Scratch Ribeiro On Tuesday

News: Mike Ribeiro will be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Penguins.
Analysis: It's a fairly curious decision since Mike Ribeiro is one of Phoenix's more productive scoring forwards, but perhaps coach Dave Tippett wanted to give the center a rest for the second game of a back-to-back. Paul Bissonnette will enter the lineup in Ribeiro's place.

Coyotes' Ribeiro Scores In Win

News: Mike Ribeiro scored Tuesday in a win over Florida. It was his fifteenth goal of the season.
Analysis: Mike Ribeiro has four points in eight games since the end of the Olympic break. He will look to get on a run in the coming weeks as the Coyotes push for a playoff spot.
