Pens Nearly Unbeatable With Eaton

News: The Penguins have won 18 of 19 games with Mark Eaton -- who is pointless -- in the lineup.
Analysis: The stay-at-home defenseman has a plus-10 rating and 29 blocked shots. His calming presence on the blue line has added a dimension lacking prior to his arrival. Mark Eaton doesn't likely help fantasy teams, but his play is crucial to goalies Marc-Andre Fleury and Tomas Vokoun.

News: Mark Eaton, who missed Wednesday's game with the Rangers due to illness, is listed in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Rangers.
Analysis: Mark Eaton will pair up with Brooks Orpik, though he's still looking for his first point of the season. If Kris Letang can get back soon, the Penguins will have a healthy blue line for the first time in a while.

Eaton Undefeated As Penguin

News: Mark Eaton has 16 blocked shots and a plus-four rating in the 10 games he's played for Pittsburgh, and the Pens haven't lost with him in the lineup.
Analysis: The defender won a Cup with Pittsburgh in 2008-09, and while he won't help fantasy teams in categories other than blocked shots, his calming presence on the blue line has helped the Pens limit opponents to nine goals in the last eight games.

Islanders' Eaton To Miss Six Weeks

News: Mark Eaton will be out six weeks with a sprained MCL suffered in Monday's game, according to the Islanders' official Twitter page.
Analysis: Mark Eaton's injury won't affect fantasy owners much -- he has just one point in 16 games -- but it will hurt the Islanders' depth on the blue line. Mike Mottau figures to get the first crack at replacing Eaton in the lineup, but the Islanders will likely add another defender to the roster in the next couple days.

Isles' Eaton Out 1-2 Weeks

News: Eaton (groin) will miss one-to-two weeks, Katie Strang of Newsday reports.
Analysis: He did not accompany his teammates on their trip to Nashville and is expected to miss at least a few games with this ailment. Fortunately, Eaton is more valuable to the Isles than he is to fantasy owners and his availability shouldn't impact your blue-line plans.
