Nagy still with Russian squad

News: Former NHLer Ladislav Nagy has made a home for himself with Cherepovets Severstal of the KHL (Russia) in 2008-09. He has three goals, 12 assists and 99 penalty minutes in 36 games this season after failing to latch on with a NHL team. He spent 2007-08 with the Kings.
Analysis: Nagy had some injury woes in 2007-08 and that's why many NHL teams were lukewarm to bringing him back this season. If he proves his worth in the KHL, Nagy might return to the U.S. in 2009-10. Still, he is not worth holding onto in Fantasy.

Nagy heads to Russian league

News: Free agent LW Ladislav Nagy has signed with Severstal Cherepovets of the Continental Hockey League (Russia). Nagy was an 8-year NHL veteran.
Analysis: Nagy had 26 points (nine goals) in 38 games last season with the Kings. He missed most of the season with a nagging neck injury. Nagy was a viable No. 4 Fantasy forward when healthy, so his loss is somewhat important in Fantasy. Make sure not to draft Nagy in 2008-09.

Nagy considering neck surgery

News: Los Angeles left wing Ladislav Nagy hasn't been responding to treatment for a neck injury. He plans to take a couple of weeks before deciding whether or to have season-ending surgery. "I still have pain when I put my neck back. It’s improving but not really what I’m expecting," said Nagy. "If it’s not going to get better in the next 2-3 weeks, then I’m going to have to think about surgery. I don’t want to have surgery. It’s the last option. But, if it’s not going to get better, then maybe I have to do it. If I have surgery, then it’s done (his season)."
Analysis: Nagy hasn't played since early January, and it doesn't look very promising for him to return this season. A No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy forward when healthy, he should probably be released in all but keeper formats at this point.
