News:Zach Bogosian (concussion) appears doubtful to play Thursday, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Coach Claude Noel said Zach Bogosian is viewed as day-to-day, but didn't express much confidence that he would be ready in time for Thursday. Keep tabs of the situation prior to the Thursday's opening face-off, as Bogosian had emerged as an offensive threat prior to suffering the injury, scoring seven points over his last four games.
News:Zach Bogosian will miss at least a week with a concussion, according to Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian, who has five goals and 14 points in 33 games to date, will miss the time due to a hit he took from Islanders forward Kyle Okposo on Saturday. As a result, the soonest we'll see the blueliner back is during the NHL playoffs, that is if the Jets in fact qualify for the postseason.
News:Zach Bogosian's scoring streak now stands at four games and seven points (two goals, five assists) after he potted a goal in Saturday's shootout loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Perhaps even more impressive was the fact he absolutely shut down Isles' star John Tavares. Bogey has struggled to live up to the promise of being a third-overall draft pick, but he finally might be starting to turn that corner. File it away and bump him up your draft sheet for next season.
News:Zach Bogosian scored his fourth goal of the season and added an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over Carolina.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian has one goal and five assists and a plus-1 rating in his last three games. He's benefited greatly during the team's five-game winning streak and he might be worth plugging into your lineup with the importance of games increasing as the Jets fight for a playoff spot with just four games remaining in the season.
News:Zach Bogosian notched his second consecutive two-assist performance Tuesday, helping out Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd on second-period tallies in an eventual shootout win over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: The former third overall pick hasn't yet developed a very refined offensive game, but at just 22, he's got plenty of time yet to integrate puck skills to match his physicality. Staying healthy for a full season would be a good start.
News:Zach Bogosian grabbed two assists in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Panthers.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian has points in only two of the Jets' last 12 contests and has a minus-6 rating over that stretch. The Jets are off the rest of this week and when you couple that with Bogosian's recent performance, he's not really worth putting in your lineup for during your fantasy playoff run.
News:Zach Bogosian had a goal in a 4-2 loss to the Rangers on Monday night.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian was a minus-1 with three shots on goal in just over 25-minutes of ice time. The goal breaks a six-game pointless streak for the defenseman who is a minus-5 over his last seven games.
Jets' Bogosian Gets First Goal Of Season In Win Over Devils
News:Zach Bogosian opened the scoring in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Devils.
Analysis: After drilling seven shots on goal the night before against Philadelphia, it's nice to see Zach Bogosian net his first goal of the season. Although he hasn't exactly lived up to the hype of being a top-five draft pick to this point in his career, he did make great strides during the Jets' playoff push last year. If he's available in your league, he's worth an add considering his potential long-term value, especially in light of the injury bug that has seemingly floated around the defensemen on the team this season.
Jets' Bogosian No Points In Saturday's Loss To Flyers
News:Zach Bogosian did not register a point in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Analysis: Although Zach Bogosian didn't register a point in the game, he did manage to get seven shots on goal. He made strides down the stretch last season and was easily one of the Jets' most improved players. It'll be interesting to see if Bogosian can produce some offense in the absence of Tobias Enstrom going forward, and if that helps him get rolling, he could be a solid pickup, especially in fantasy leagues where owners left him in the free agent pool due to his injury troubles.
Jets' Bogosian (Wrist) Likely To Make Season Debut Friday
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) is almost certain that he will make his season debut Friday, the Winnipeg Free Press reports. "A game-time decision but it looks like he's ready to go," coach Claude Noel said.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian had wrist surgery during the off-season, and the injury kept him out of Winnipeg's first 12 games this season. Last season, he had 30 points (five goals and 25 assists) in 65 games.
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) says he is ready to play, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: That said, whether or not Zach Bogosian -- who recorded 30 points in 65 games last season -- will suit up for Friday's game against the Penguins is still viewed as a game-time decision.
News: It is still unclear whether Zach Bogosian (wrist) will play Tuesday against the Flyers, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian practiced on Feb 8 for the first time since undergoing offseason wrist surgery, and Jets head coach Claude Noel is considering him day-to-day. The blueliner recorded five goals and 25 assists in 30 contests last season for the Jets.
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) practiced for the first time since offseason surgery, the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian said the last time he practiced with the team was last April. He also said there is no date set for his return yet. Even when he returns, it will take a bit to return to full speed, but the team will be looking forward to an added boost to their defense.
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) skated Monday for the first time since having surgery, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Although he did not take any shots Monday, Zach Bogosian is progressing well in his recovery to this point. The initial timetable for a return pointed to a four-to-six month absence, the shorter end of which just passed over New Year's Eve. For now, it's unclear if he will be ready when the Jets' regular season begins in two weeks.
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) had a screw removed from his surgically repaired wrist last week and is in "full rehab mode," according to the Winnipeg Free Press.
Analysis: Of course, the team is closely monitoring how his wrist responds. Bogo will be highly motivated to get himself ready as fast as possible. He's in the final year of a two-year, $5 million deal and he needs to prove his improved play last season (five goals, 25 assists in 65 games) was the real deal.
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) underwent successful surgery on Friday and is expected to miss four to six months, according to Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian's recovery time was uncertain prior to Friday but the Jets' head physician said returns to hockey action from chronic ligament tears usually are in the four to six month range. This will knock out a significant portion of the regular season and would have Bogosian ready to be back on the ice sometime between January and March depending on how well the recovery progresses.
News:Zach Bogosian will undergo surgery on Friday, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: The 22-year-old defenseman was diagnosed with a chronic ligament tear in his right wrist after experiencing discomfort during his offseason training. There's no timetable yet for how much time Zach Bogosian will miss, but early projections would have him missing a minimum of three months. If that's the case, it would be a crucial loss for the Jets, as Bogosian is coming off a solid season that saw him rack up five goals and 25 assists in 65 games.
News:Zach Bogosian was invited to join Team USA at May's IIHF World Championships but declined so as to give his injuries more time to heal in the off-season, TSN's Sara Orlesky reports.
Analysis: This comes as good news to those holding onto Zach Bogosian in keeper leagues. Though the World Championships would no doubt provide some valuable experience, "Bogo" got dinged up quite a bit this season and will benefit from the upcoming rest.
News:Zach Bogosian notched a goal and an assist for the second straight game Thursday night on Long Island, giving the 21 year-old defenseman seven points in his last four games.
Analysis: From a points perspective, the 2011-2012 season has been Bogo's most impressive to date. Though his minus-three rating is not where fantasy owners would like it to be, that figure is a grand improvement on the ghastly minus-27 Zach Bogosian finished with last year in Atlanta.
Winnipeg's Bogosian Eats Up Ice Time, Adds Two Points
News:Zach Bogosian spent 27:50 on the ice Tuesday night in Sunrise, more than any other skater in the conest. The American blue-liner also tallied his fourth goal and 24th assist of the year.
Analysis: Fantasy owners who have stuck with Zach Bogosian this season were handsomely rewarded in the ice-time column Tuesday night. Expect more of the same in Winnipeg's final two games; only Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom have averaged more playing time for the Jets this season.
Winnipeg's Bogosian Tallies Three Assists, Five Shots
News:Zach Bogosian assisted three of Winnipeg's four goals in Friday night's overtime victory over Carolina.
Analysis: Though Zach Bogosian's shots on net have dipped a bit this year, the defenseman in his fourth NHL season will finish the 2012 campaign with his highest points total to date, despite missing nearly 20 games due to injury.
News: Though the 21-year-old defenseman finished Monday night with a minus-1 goal differential, Zach Bogosian put an impressive 10 shots on net versus the visiting Senators.
Analysis: Now with a respectable 134 shots on the season, Zach Bogosian does just a little bit of everything for his owners. Whether or not he has lived up to his status as a third overall draft selection is another debate altogether, but "Bogo" makes for a reasonable blue-line choice in deeper leagues.
News:Zach Bogosian will not face supplementary discipline for his hit Sunday night that landed him a game misconduct penalty, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Expect Zach Bogosian to be available Tuesday night as the Jets fight for their playoff lives in Pittsburgh.
News:Zach Bogosian was given a game misconduct Sunday night in response to a nasty hit on Carolina's Andreas Nodl. The Winnipeg defender now has 66 penalty minutes on the season.
Analysis: The Jets were supposed to be getting Zach Bogosian back for the balance of the season Sunday night, the American blueliner having recently missed five games with an injury to his wrist. However, given that "Bogo" appeared to leave his feet on the hit and shook up Nodl pretty significantly, he could be facing a minor suspension. More information to come on his status if/when the league offices hand down a punishment extending beyond Sunday.
News:Zach Bogosian will play Sunday against the Hurricanes after missing five games with a wrist injury, Kirk Penton of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: The American blueliner has put 113 pucks on net in 54 games this season. Feel free to roll with him as you normally would.
News:Zach Bogosian will be a scratch Friday night as the Jets host the Capitals, Kirk Penton of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: The upstate New York native aims to return to action Sunday when the Hurricanes come to Winnipeg.
News: Much in the way he was for Wednesday's contest, TSN's Rick Ralph reports that Zach Bogosian (wrist) will be a game-time decision Friday night versus the Capitals.
Analysis: The decision to have Zach Bogosian sit out Wednesday's game versus Dallas came fairly early, meaning the American blue-liner was not exactly on the verge of a return. Two days can make a sizable difference with injury, but it would be wise to have a backup option in place.
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against Dallas, Winnipeg Sun writer Ken Wiebe reports.
Analysis: We'll make note if things change, but for now it appears as if Zach Bogosian will not be available for Wednesday's game.
News:Zach Bogosian (wrist) is listed as a game-time decision for Wednesday night's home contest versus the Stars, TSN's Sara Orlesky reports.
Analysis: While "game-time decision" essentially amounts to "good to go" in many NHL clubhouses, the Jets use the term in the most literal sense. Head coach Claude Noel and the Winnipeg training staff often wait until mere moments before puck drop to pull the trigger on game-time decisions, making Zach Bogosian a risky proposition for Wednesday.
News: After taking part in Saturday's optional skate, coach Claude Noel is hopeful that Zach Bogosian (wrist) will be ready for Wednesday's game against Dallas, reports the Winnipeg Free Press.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian reported no issues after the Saturday skate and is expected to be at full practice on Monday. If all goes well, he'll be back on the blue line on Wednesday. If ready, you'll want to get the defenseman back in your lineup. He has 22 points and 51 PIMs in 54 games this season.
News: As expected, Zach Bogosian (wrist) will sit out Friday's contest at Calgary, the Jets' official site reports.
Analysis: If you were holding out hope that "Bogo" would be able to play Friday night, be sure he is not in your starting lineup come puck-drop.
News:Zach Bogosian (unspecified injury), who had just returned to the Jets' lineup Thursday, will miss a week or so, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian apparently aggravated an old injury Thursday in his return to action and then left Saturday's practice, as a result. Either Grant Clitsome or Mark Flood will fill in for Bogosian, starting Monday against Buffalo.
News: After missing seven games with a foot injury, Zach Bogosian assisted the Jets' fifth goal of Thursday night's contest as they shut out the visiting Panthers, 7-0.
Analysis: There was cause for celebration on several fronts in the Winnipeg dressing room Thursday night. Not only did the Jets move into eight place in the Eastern Conference and pick up two valuable points in the divisional race by securing the win over Florida, but with Zach Bogosian back to full strength, the club's entire 23-man roster is now healthy.
News: Head coach Claude Noel says Zach Bogosian (foot) will be good to go Thursday versus the Panthers, according to TSN's Sara Orlesky.
Analysis: Though the Jets will be glad to have Zach Bogosian back after dealing defenseman Johnny Oduya at the trade deadline, Noel has a tendency to ease returning skaters back into the lineup. As such, do not expect monster ice-time totals for the former first-round pick in Thursday's home game.
News:Zach Bogosian (foot) missed his seventh consecutive game Monday night, watching from the press box as the Jets came up short versus the visiting Oilers.
Analysis: Though the former first-round selection has posted unspectacular numbers this season, Zach Bogosian can make for a helpful addition in deeper leagues. Be sure to monitor his health moving forward, as he seems close to a return.
News: Coach Claude Noel said that Zach Bogosian (foot) is a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Oilers, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian, who last suited up Feb. 14, checks in with 21 points and a minus-7 rating in 53 games, marginal fantasy numbers overall from the No. 3 choice in the 2008 draft.
News:Zach Bogosian (foot) skated with his teammates Monday morning, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: The report suggests that there's a chance that Zach Bogosian could return to the Jets' lineup Monday against Edmonton after missing six games.
Jets' Bogosian (Undisclosed) Ruled Out For Saturday
News:Zach Bogosian, whose recent injury has been called both one to his upper-body as well as one to his foot, will miss Saturday's game against St. Louis, the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian had hoped to return to action earlier in the week but will now have to watch at least one more game from the press box.
News:Zach Bogosian (foot) won't play Thursday against the Lightning, according to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian, who has 21 points in 53 games to date, hasn't suited up since Feb. 14. He remains in the day-to-day category.
News:Zach Bogosian (foot) was not present for the Jets' Thursday morning skate, according to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun.
Analysis: As a result, it's likely he will miss his fifth consecutive game when the Jets take on the Lightning on Thursday evening.
News: Head coach Claude Noel does not expect Zach Bogosian (foot) to play Tuesday versus Philadelphia, Kirk Penton of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: With the club riding something of a hot streak these days, the Jets are not likely to rush one of their top defensemen back from injury.
News:Zach Bogosian, whose mysterious ailment has been called both an injury to his foot as well as his upper body, aims to return to action Tuesday versus the Flyers according to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun.
Analysis: Whatever the real problem is, Zach Bogosian is a sure bet to sit out Sunday's contest.
News:Zach Bogosian missed the morning skate and did not play Friday night as he recovers from what is being called a foot injury according to the Winnipeg Free Press.
Analysis: He will continue to be listed as day to day, but coach Claude Noel says that he will not be green-lighted until he practices in full. Continue to monitor his status.
News:Zach Bogosian (upper body) will miss Thursday's game against Minnesota, CJOB-AM's Dan Kamal reports.
Analysis: There hasn't been any mention of what Zach Bogosian's status is going forward, so consider him day-to-day for now.
Winnipeg's Bogosian Avoids Missing Time, Notches Assist
News:Zach Bogosian, whose status versus the Penguins was up in the air after taking a shot to the foot Thursday against the Capitals, played Saturday's game in full and found his 18th assist while doing so.
Analysis: Given that the Jets lost the road contest 8-5, Zach Bogosian's even plus/minus for Saturday is fairly impressive. He plays a physical role for Winnipeg, but is also a good candidate to reach 30 points this season.
News:Zach Bogosian did not practice Friday after taking a shot in the foot Thursday in Washington, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: It doesn't sound like anything structural at first point, though Zach Bogosian will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh.
News:Zach Bogosian briefly left Tuesday's game against the Leafs after hurting his wrist but later returned, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian had his most productive game in recent memory on Tuesday, with an assist and four shots on net to go along with a plus-2 rating.
News: After missing a week and a half's worth of action with a lower body injury, Zach Bogosian was strong in his return Saturday night. The American blueliner recorded nine shots on goal and an impressive 25:19 of ice time, overtime period included.
Analysis: Considering the physical role Zach Bogosian plays for the Jets, the defender in his fourth year has a fair amount of finesse to his game, as well. He generates significant offense, as evidenced by his healthy assists total and spot on the team's first power play unit. He is an unspectacular but reliable fantasy option.
News:Zach Bogosian (lower body) has now skated strongly for three straight days and has declared himself ready to play according to the Winnipeg Free Press.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian has missed the last five games with a lower body injury but is listed on the team's lineup for Saturday's game against the Florida Panthers. It appears safe to get him back into your lineup.
Jets' Bogosian (Lower Body) Ruled Out For Thursday
News:Zach Bogosian (lower body) will not play Thursday night, but aims to make his return to the Jets' lineup Saturday versus the Panthers, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: If you were holding out hope that Zach Bogosian would be good to go for Thursday's matchup, be sure to remove him from your starting lineup.
Winnipeg's Bogosian (Lower Body) Skates With Team, Questionable For Thursday
News:Zach Bogosian was on the ice for Thursday morning's team skate, the team's official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian, who figures to make his return to action soon, will likely come down to a game-time decision Thursday. Though he is a risky start this time around, he warrants a spot on your roster moving forward if he is able to play.
News:Zach Bogosian (lower-body) was not on the ice for Friday's practice, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: The feeling is that Zach Bogosian will not be on the shelf long-term, so consider him day-to-day for now.
News:Zach Bogosian will not play Thursday due to a lower-body injury sustained Tuesday in Boston, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Things looked headed in this direction but make sure you have Zach Bogosian nowhere your daily lineups for Thursday's slate. On a brighter note for the Jets, Tanner Glass will slot back in after sustaining an eye injury.
News: Coach Claude Noel said Thursday that Zach Bogosian remains day-to-day with a lower body injury, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian, who notched two assists in Tuesday night's loss to the Bruins, is iffy for Thursday's tilt against the Sharks as a result of his unspecified lower body injury.
News:Zach Bogosian earned two assists in Tuesday night's game before heading to the locker room in the second period with a lower-body injury.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian had been playing exceptionally Tuesday before his untimely exit. His first assist was originally credited as a goal, a blistering shot from the point tipped in by Jets forward Andrew Ladd. Be sure to check back on the status of Bogosian's injury, as he makes for a valuable fantasy weapon, especially in the penalty minutes column.
Jets' Bogosian Among League Leaders In Penalty Minutes
News:Zach Bogosian has recorded 47 penalty minutes through 38 games, tying him for eighth amongst league defensemen.
Analysis: Despite playing the enforcer role, Zach Bogosian has remained durable throughout the year, not missing a single game for Winnipeg. The American in his fourth season also records strong ice-time totals and is on pace to exceed 30 points this season.
News:Zach Bogosian scored a goal and added two assists in Saturday's game. It was his first three-point outing since his rookie season.
Analysis: No surprise he earned the game's first star for the effort. He has already put up 14 points in 32 games -- that's a nice recovery from his abysmal 17 points in 71 games last year. And best of all, his own-zone game has seriously tightened up. He's just minus-1 on the season after recording a minus-27 rating last year. Keeper leaguers need to keep the faith. This 35-point pace could be 50 with an edge in the future.
News:Zach Bogosian scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday's win over the Wild. He was also assessed a major and a game misconduct for boarding and injurying Pierre-Marc Bouchard late in the third period.
Analysis: The hit will likely get Zach Bogosian a fine, but a suspension seems unlikely. The 2008 third overall pick has 10 assists on the year, so he hasn't been a non-entity on offense. He's also getting more power play time -- averaging nearly four minutes per game with the man advantage.
News:Zach Bogosian is crediting his shutdown performances so far this season to his blossoming relationship with assistant coach Charlie Huddy, according to the Winnipeg Sun.
Analysis:Zach Bogosian was drafted third overall by the Thrashers in the 2008 entry draft but has only had mediocre success since entering the league at 18 years old. In his first two years with the club, Bogosian flashed the ability to become a major force in the NHL but often clashed with then-assistant coach John Torchetti last season leading to some poor results. This year Bogosian credits Charlie Huddy's calm demeanor as the reason why he is playing better saying, "He's easy to work with, he's calm. There are times when he tells me certain things I have to work on, but it's in a good way. It's not in a bad, degrading manner or anything like that.
News:Zach Bogosian inked a two-year deal with Winnipeg on Wednesday, Sportsnet.ca's Nick Kypreos reports.
Analysis: The 21-year-old defenseman hasn't lived up to all the hype surrounding him after being selected No. 3 overall in 2008, but he still has loads of potential. Don't hesitate to target him late him your draft based on his upside alone.
News: Bogosian notched two assists Monday in the loss to Toronto, giving him three points in the last two games.
Analysis: Bogosian's become the forgotten man on the Atlanta blue line this season with the stellar seasons being had by Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom. Bogosian's still just 20 years old and a promising talent and could see more chances with Enstrom nursing an injury. Bogosian's done little this season to demonstrate consistency, but if you need to use him, the potential is there.
News: Bogosian had been a healthy scratch for the Thrashers' previous three games, but a hand injury to Tobias Enstrom allowed Bogosian to return to the ice Sunday.
Analysis: Bogosian skated for 23:40 and finished with two shots on goal and a minus-1 rating. He'll need to see more consistent ice time before he becomes a legitimate fantasy contender in most formats.
News: Bogosian will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game Thursday against the Lightning, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Freddy Meyer will take his place in the Thrashers' lineup Thursday, with some time in the press box perhaps providing the struggling Bogosian with some perspective on what he needs to do to get back on track.
News: Bogosian will be back in the lineup Sunday against Montreal, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: It's still unclear if his absence Friday was due to injury, but he'll be out there in his usual role in place of Freddy Meyer against the Habs.
News: Bogosian was a healthy scratch Friday night against the Devils, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Freddy Meyer is in the lineup in Bogosian's place Friday. With just six points in 33 games and a minus-8 rating, he's been a huge disappointment after potting 10 goals in his sophomore campaign. Perhaps spending New Years Eve in the press box will serve as a wake-up call for the young blueliner. It's also possible that he suffered a setback with the knee injury that temporarily knocked him out of Thursday's game against the Bruins. We'll await further info from the Thrashers regarding his status.
News: Updating an earlier report, Bogosian was able to return to the ice after suffering an apparent knee injury, Ben Wright reports.
Analysis: The Thrashers wouldn't rush Bogosian back to the ice so quickly if the knee injury he suffered were serious. Owners shouldn't have any thing to worry about here.
News: Bogosian left Thursday's game against the Bruins with an apparent knee injury, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Consitution reports.
Analysis: Bogosian had his right knee looked at on the bench before heading to the locker room. It's unclear if he'll be able to return to the ice.
News: Bogosian scored just his sixth point of the season Sunday, putting the Thrashers on the scoreboard in the second period.
Analysis: It's good to see Bogosian chip in a goal, but he's been ice cold lately. He's not really a good bet to score points with Tobias Enstrom and Dustin Byfuglien having so much success on defense this year already.
News: Bogosian (undisclosed) will play Sunday after missing Thursday's game, reports Chris Vivamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Analysis: Bogosian doesn't have much fantasy value at the moment, however, scoring just one point in his last 11 games.
Thrashers' Bogosian: May Sit Thursday Against Bruins
News: Bogosian was checked hard into the boards Tuesday against St. Louis and will sit out Thursday's game against the Bruins, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Bogosian has five points on the season and just one point in his last 11 games. After posting 23 points last season, it looks like the play of Tobias Enstrom and Dustin Byfuglien has taken away from Bogosian's fantasy value. You may have drafted him based on the potential he showed last year and the fact that he's a top draft pick of the Thrashers, but it's safe to say he's not fantasy worthy at the moment.
Bogosian: Game Winning Goal Sparks Thrashers Comeback Over Preds
News: Bogosian ripped a wristshot inside the far post from just inside the blueline that beat Predators goalie Anders Lindback on the glove side on Monday night.
Analysis: Bogosian now has points in three of his last four games and with the Thrashers playing really well as a team, don't be completely surprised if Bogosian builds on his recent production.
Bogosian: Scores First of the Season in Thrashers Loss
News: Bogosian opened the scoring Wednesday, slapping a puck between the legs of Florida goalie Tomas Vokoun halfway through the first period.
Analysis: It was the only goal the Thrashers would score in the game, but it's nice to see Bogosian get his first of the year after netting 10 last season.
News: Bogosian got the assist in the second period Saturday on a power-play goal by Evander Kane in the shootout loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Of note here is that Bogosian's ice time is now hovering around the 23-minute mark and should continue to increase as his health gets back to status quo.
Bogosian Gets First Point of the Season Wednesday As Thrashers Beat Panthers.
News: Bogosian's first point of the season came on a slapshot by Niclas Bergfors which turned out to be the game winning marker.
Analysis: Bogosian got twenty one minutes of ice time in his second game back from injury and should produce more consistently moving forward.
News: Bogosian played just under 20 minutes after returning from a six-game absence.
Analysis: Bogosian still has a lot to prove in the NHL based on the talent he has flashed since being drafted third overall in 2008. He should be a dominating defenseman on both ends of the ice, and keeper league owners should remain patient while he gets there.
News: Bogosian will return to the lineup for Friday's game against the Sabres, according to Thrashers radio man Dan Kamal. He's been out for six games with a shoulder injury.
Analysis: The Thrashers could have some pretty nice offense working from the blue line if Bogosian comes back strong, as Tobias Enstrom has a fine eight points in nine games, and newcomer Dustin Byfuglien is fitting in well with seven points.
News: Bogosian (shoulder) will miss his sixth straight game Tuesday night, Dan Kamal of the Thrashers' Radio Network reports.
Analysis: At this point, the team hasn't made a move to replace him with a callup, but that should be coming in the next few hours since Freddy Meyer is out as well.
Bogosian (Shoulder) Fully Participates in Thrashers' Practice
News: Bogosian (shoulder) was a full participant in Monday's practice, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
Analysis: This is a pretty good sign that he's close to playing. He's missed the last five games with the injury. Atlanta's next game is Wednesday against the Rangers.
News: Bogosian (shoulder) will not play Saturday against Washington, Thrashers radio announcer Dan Kamal reports.
Analysis: This injury has lingered a bit longer than expected, and it's now been more than a week and a half since Bogosian last played. By the time the Thrashers play again (Wednesday at the Rangers), it will have been more than a week. The team has given no indication of whether Bogosian will be ready for that game.
News: Bogosian (shoulder) will not play Friday against Tampa Bay, Atlanta radio announcer Dan Kamal reports.
Analysis: Freddy Meyer will likely continue to start while Bogosian is out. Atlanta's next game comes Saturday against the Caps.
Thrashers Bogosian Making Progress; Won't Play Wednesday
News: Bogosian (shoulder) is making progress after participating in the morning skate Wednesday, but he will not play against the Sabres on Wednesday night, Chris Vivalamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Freddy Meyer figures to remain in the lineup until Bogosian is healthy enough to go. He'll now set his sights on being ready for the weekend when the Thrashers play Tampa Bay and Washington on Friday and Saturday night.
News: After missing the last two games with a shoulder injury, Bogosian practiced Tuesday without a non-contact jersey on, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

News: Bogosian (shoulder) will not play in Friday night's game against the Ducks, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

News: Bogosian (shoulder) returned to practice Thursday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore reports.
Analysis: Bogosian looks like he'll be able to play Friday against the Ducks, but we should know more after Friday morning's skate.

News: Bogosian did not practice Wednesday and is listed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury, according to coach Craig Ramsay, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
Analysis: Luckily the Thrashers are off until Friday, so Bogosian has an extra day to rest up if he needs it. The blueliner has yet to register a point through three games this season.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian returned to the ice Tuesday against the Sabres after sitting out a game due to a thumb injury. He finished plus-1 with five hits on the night.
Analysis: Bogosian has had a disappointing sophomore season, and is down to starting in 40 percent of leagues now. It will be hard to rely on him in the Fantasy playoffs once he's back in the Atlanta lineup.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that an MRI on Thrashers D Zach Bogosians thumb was negative. He will be a game-time decision for Tuesday vs. Buffalo.
Analysis: Bogosian has had a disappointing sophomore season, and is down to starting in 40 percent of leagues now. It will be hard to rely on him in the Fantasy playoffs once he's back in the Atlanta lineup.
News: Atlanta D Zach Bogosian, who suffered a hand injury in a loss Friday to the New York Rangers, missed his first game this season Sunday against the Coyotes. He is questionable for Tuesday against the Sabres.
Analysis: We can be happy that Bogosian hasn't missed much time in 2009-10 due to injury after playing only 47 games as a rookie due to injury. However, he hasn't really been the breakout star many Fantasy owners had been hoping for this season. His minus-14 rating through 67 games has also been a hindrance. Bogosian is a tough Fantasy play until he gets a little more consistent offensively.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian has just one assist and a minus-4 over his last seven games.
Analysis: After contributing nicely in the first couple of months of the season, Bogosian has really hit the skids since the beginning of December. He should be benched in all leagues with 12 teams or less until his fortunes start to turn around.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Thrashers D Zach Bogosian scored his ninth goal of the season on a first-period slapshot in Saturday's win over Carolina, snapping a 29-game scoreless drought. Bogosian, who had eight goals in the first 17 games this season, battled a wrist injury for most of the past month, but now says his wrist is 100 percent healthy again.
Analysis: Bogosian had no goals, four assists and a minus-9 rating in 15 December games, so the wrist injury was clearly an issue. Now that he is healthy, hopefully he can get back to work and return to the scoring threat we have come to know. Bogosian could definitely be a second-half sleeper.
News:The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Thrashers defenseman Zach Bogosian has fully recovered from an previously undisclosed injury to his wrist, coach John Anderson said on Friday.
Analysis: Bogosian has been pretty unreliable for Fantasy owners since mid-November, so we have to wonder how long he has been dealing with this wrist ailment. Bogosian has shown some serious potential since making his NHL debut in 2008-09. However, staying healthy has been a big hurdle. Bogosian is a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy defenseman until he gets back on track. Now that he is healthy, we could see Bogosian ramp up his game.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian failed to record a point and finished at minus-2 on Wednesday against the Bruins. He has three assists in his last four games, but Bogosian hasn't scored since Nov. 15.
Analysis: Bogosian really shot up the Fantasy rankings when he scored eight times in his first 17 games. He has since failed to find the back of the net since mid-November. The Thrashers aren't punishing Bogosian for his lack of goals and expect a little inconsistency from a young blueliner. Bogosian can definitely be a high-end Fantasy start, but probably needs to be taken down a notch until he gets back on track.
News: Falcons D Zach Bogosian scored his sixth goal of the season in Saturday's loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Bogosian is now tied for the NHL lead in goals by a defenseman this season and is worth using in all Fantasy leagues right now.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian had two goals during a 4-3 loss to the Capitals on Thursday. Atlanta finally broke through early in the third on a power play that carried over from the previous period. Bogosian pinched in toward the left circle and one-timed a shot just under the crossbar with Semyon Varlamov screened in front by 6-foot-4 defenseman Shaone Morrisonn. Bogosian then scored with one second left, but it was too little, too late.
Analysis: Bogosian has three goals in his last three games and four on the season. We saw as a rookie that Bogosian had serious scoring skills and he continues to develop in his second NHL campaign. He might be a blueliner, but Bogosian definitely has the skills to play like a forward. He is more of a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy defenseman, but his stock is rising.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian scored a goal during Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Capitals. Bogosian added a short-handed goal in the third period as he beat Semyon Varlamov on a wrist shot at 4:51. It was his second goal of the season and first in six games.
Analysis: The Thrashers are really excited about Bogosian's continued development. He has been pretty much everything the team has envisioned since drafting him third in the 2008 draft. Bogosian's rookie season was overshadowed by a leg injury, but when he was on the ice, he was productive. Bogosian remains a Fantasy sleeper for the 2009-10 season.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian scored twice in Thursday's loss to the Panthers. He now has nine goals in 46 games this season.
Analysis: Bogosian broke his leg in late October, and it took the rookie a little while to get going, but he's been solid since mid-March. Bogosian definitely has sleeper potential heading into 2009-10.
News:The Sports Xchange reports as good of a rookie season as Thrashers D Zach Bogosian is having, he's still occasionally prone to making the occasional freshman mistake. That's exactly what happened on Buffalo's first goal Wednesday. For a split second, Bogosian abandoned Thomas Vanek in front of the Atlanta net while killing a penalty. The brief lapse in positioning allowed Vanek plenty of time to put the puck past Atlanta goalie Johan Hedberg. However, Bogosian made up for his gaffe less than two minutes later when he scored the Thrashers' opening goal.
Analysis: Bogosian has been at his best offensively since mid-March. He has four goals and three assists in his last 11 games. The Thrashers drafted him third overall in 2008 for his burgeoning offensive skills. He will continue to learn on the defensive end as well, but Bogosian definitely has sleeper potential heading into 2009-10.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian tallied a goal and four penalty minutes during Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Canadiens. Bogosian scored his sixth goal at 8:13 of the third period as he beat Carey Price with a wrist shot. Bogosian has three goals and three assists in his last eight games.
Analysis: The Thrashers tabbed Bogosian with the third pick in the 2008 draft because they were in love with his offensive potential. He had a rough start to his career due to broken leg, but he has really come on in March since the trades of Mathieu Schneider and Niclas Havelid. Bogosian could be a nice low-end Fantasy option down the stretch here, but definitely has long-term potential as well.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian was able to play Friday against the Red Wings despite suffering a knee injury Tuesday against the Penguins. He tallied an assist and minus-2 rating in 20:39 of ice time.
Analysis: It's really good to see Bogosian dodge another serious injury since he missed considerable time this season with a broken leg. He has been on his game offensively lately, with two goals and three assists in six games. Ever since the trades of Mathieu Schneider and Niclas Havelid, Bogosian has logged more minutes in March and has produced. The Thrashers are trying to get him acclimated to the NHL game since they expect him to be a top-logging defenseman for years. Bogosian is coming around offensively, but he still remains more of a low-end Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian did not play in third period Tuesday against the Penguins due to a knee injury. He didn't have a point in 15:16 of ice time and finished at even. The Thrashers were miffed that Bogosian was knocked out of the game on a hit by Matt Cooke. Cooke was given a two-minute penalty for tripping on the play, but Atlanta wanted at least a major for kneeing. "It was definitely knee-on-knee," Thrashers coach John Anderson said. "The referee said if (Bogosian) was injured, (Cooke) would have gotten five minutes. He was injured -- he just didn't lay on the ice."
Analysis: Bogosian's point streak (two goals, two asists) ended at four games Tuesday. Ever since the trades of Mathieu Schneider and Niclas Havelid, Bogosian has logged more minutes in March. The Thrashers are trying to get him acclimated to the NHL game since they expect him to be a top-logging defenseman for years. Analysis: Ever since the trades of Mathieu Schneider and Niclas Havelid, Bogosian has logged more minutes in March. The Thrashers are trying to get him acclimated to the NHL game since they expect him to be a top-logging defenseman for years. Bogosian is coming around offensively, but he still remains more of a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Thrashers rookie D Zach Bogosian scored for the first time since January as Atlanta shutout the Avalanche on Tuesday.
Analysis: Bogosian is still finding his way in the NHL and isn't much of an offensive force. Continue to hold on to him in keeper formats.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian tallied three assists and a plus-2 rating during Monday's 7-6 shootout win against the Kings. It was his first points in seven games and first assist since Jan. 20.
Analysis: The rookie defenseman has played well since being banished to the AHL and then returning to the NHL in mid-January. However, he is still a healthy scratch at times and isn't always factoring on offense. Bogosian remains a low-end Fantasy defenseman and decent long-term keeper.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian failed to record a point and finished at plus-1 in 20:10 of ice time during Sunday's 8-4 win against the Ducks. Bogosian doesn't have a point in his last six games.
Analysis: It's really unfortunate Bogosian could get a point Sunday despite eight goals being scored. The rookie defenseman has played well since being banished to the AHL and then returning to the NHL in mid-January. However, he is still a healthy scratch at times and isn't always factoring on offense. Bogosian remains a low-end Fantasy defenseman and decent long-term keeper.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian scored a goal during Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders. Yann Danis stopped the first 22 shots he faced before Bogosian's slap shot -- the rookie defenseman's third goal -- cut the lead to 4-1 in the first minute of the third. All three of his goals have come in the last five games.
Analysis: Bogosian missed a good chunk of the season with a broken leg, and when he came back, Atlanta sent him down to the minors to get his confidence up. Mission accomplished. Bogosian has looked like the No. 3 pick in the draft over the last few weeks and the rookie defenseman could be in line for a strong second half. He remains a low-end Fantasy option, but someone worth keeping tabs on.
News: Rookie defenseman Zach Bogosian and Chris Thorburn each had a goal and an assist in the Atlanta Thrashers' 4-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. Bogosian's goal at 11:50 was initially credited to Thorburn but several minutes later switched to Bogosian. It was the second straight 1-and-1 game for the rookie after getting no points in his first 11 games.
Analysis: Bogosian, picked third in the 2008 draft, was out 28 games with a broken fibula. After coming back Dec. 31 at Carolina, Bogosian spent four games in the minors to improve his conditioning before returning to Atlanta last Friday. The moves seems to have paid off because Bogosian's confidence is sky high. He has got developing offensive talent, but we just aren't sure how much of an impact Bogosian can make in the second half? He still has low-end Fantasy appeal.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian claimed his first two NHL points in Saturday's win over the Predators with a goal and an assist.
Analysis: Bogosian was a first-round pick in 2008 but we haven't seen enough of him to make much of a determination as he broke his leg only a couple of weeks into the season. He remains a nice keeper option for now, but barely has any Fantasy value in seasonal leagues at the moment.
News: Thrashers rookie D Zach Bogosian, the NHL's No. 3 overall draft pick, played at home for the first time since breaking his leg Oct. 28.
Analysis: Bogosian was a first-round pick in 2008 but we haven't seen enough of him to make much of a determination as he broke his leg only a couple of weeks into the season. He remains a nice keeper option for now, but barely has any Fantasy value in seasonal leagues at the moment.

News:The Sports Xchange reports Thrashers D Zach Bogosian, who was recently assigned to Atlanta's AHL affiliate in Chicago for a conditioning stint, registered his first professional goal in his debut with the Chicago Wolves on Jan. 3. Bogosian, the third pick in the 2008 NHL draft, went scoreless in nine games with Atlanta.
Analysis: It's not fair to assess Bogosian as a first-round bust yet since the 18-year-old rookie did miss a good portion of the season with a broken leg. Maybe some time in the minors will do him some good to get his confidence up. Bogosian will be back in the coming weeks for Atlanta, but remains more of a long-term Fantasy keeper.
News: Atlanta rookie D Zach Bogosian, who played one game after returning from a broken leg, was sent to Chicago (AHL) on a conditioning assignment.
Analysis: Bogosian is a a long-term keeper and potential stud in Fantasy if he can develop into a top flight player. Keep him stashed for next season but obviously don't have him starting for your team.
News: Carolina D Zach Bogosian retuned to the Thrashers lineup after missing more than a month with a broken leg. He did little in his return, taking only one shot on goal.
Analysis: Bogosian is a player you want to have on your team for next season. He isn't going to put up big numbers this year we don't think, but he could begin to show signs. The Thrashers are trying to keep Mathieu Schneider and Bogosian on the same line, and now that Schneider is no longer injured, Bogosian can come back on.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosion (leg) was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Maple Leafs. He has not played since Oct. 28 because of a broken leg, but has been practicing with the team and has been cleared to play.
Analysis: With Mathieu Schneider back from his own injury, the Thrashers are once again comfortable getting Bogosian back in the lineup since they really want to pair the duo together for Schneider to mentor the rookie. Bogosian is a talented first-year player, but his value remains mainly in keeper leagues right now.

Bogosian is a talented first-year player, but his value remains mainly in keeper leagues right now. Continue to keep Bogosian reserved until further notice.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Thrashers D Zach Bogosian, the third pick in the 2008 draft, practiced Monday for the first time since breaking his left leg Oct. 28. Im not a doctor. Im not inside his head, Coach John Anderson said. Ive got to think within 14 days we should see him playing.
Analysis: Bogosian is a talented first-year player, but his value remains mainly in keeper leagues right now. Continue to keep Bogosian reserved until further notice.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Thrashers D Zach Bogosian, who suffered a broken bone in his lower left leg Oct. 28, has resumed skating on his own, but hasn't yet practiced with the team.
Analysis: The Thrashers are in no hurry to get the rookie defenseman back in a hurry since they need him for the future more than the immediate. He is a talented first-year player, but his value remains mainly in keeper leagues right now. Continue to keep Bogosian reserved until further notice.

News: The official web site of the Atlanta Thrashers reports that D Zach Bogosian sustained a broken fibula in Tuesday's loss to the Flyers and is out indefinitely.
Analysis: Similar injuries to Bogosian's have put players out for around five or six weeks, so don't expect the rookie back until December. Bogosian has yet to record a point this season and has a minus-two rating in eight games. He is a talented first-year player, but his value remains mainly in keeper leagues right now. Be sure to bench him for the next few weeks.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Thrashers rookie D Zach Bogosian, the third overall pick in the 2008 draft, will have an MRI today on the left leg he injured Tuesday. Bogosian will miss at least the next two games with the issue.
Analysis: Bogosian has yet to record a point this season and has a minus-two rating in eight games. He is a talented first-year player, but his value remains mainly in keeper leagues right now. He looks like a risky injury option in Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 3-9) if you are using him.
News: Thrashers rookie D Zach Bogosian, the No. 3 pick in the 2008 NHL Draft, didn't return after Philadelphia's Darroll Powe slammed him into the boards midway through the second in the Flyers' 7-0 win.
Analysis: Bogosian is trying to stick around, but he will likely spend most of the season learning the ins-and-outs of the NHL. It could take a little bit for his offensive game to develop, so view Bogosian more as a long-term keeper and low-end Fantasy option at this time, when healthy.
News:The Sports Xchange reports maybe Thrashers rookie D Zach Bogosian isn't so bad after all. With the 18-year-old Bogosian, who took three penalties in his first two NHL games, sitting in the press box for Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Wild, Nathan Oystrick stepped in to test his NHL skills for the first time. Oystrick, playing alongside veteran Mathieu Schneider, failed the test. With Atlanta trailing 2-1 midway through the third, Oystrick jumped too early as he attempted to keep a Minnesota clearing pass in the offensive zone. After the puck sailed over his outstretched arm, Oystrick lost his footing and fell, leading to a breakaway goal by Antti Miettinen.
Analysis: While coach John Anderson has yet to set his lineup for Thursday's game against New Jersey, Bogosian will likely return, sending Oystrick back to the press box. The Thrashers continue to evaluate Bogosian and decide whether or not to send him back to his junior club before he plays his 10th NHL game. Bogosian is trying to stick around, but he will likely spend most of the season learning the ins-and-outs of the NHL. It could take a little bit for his offensive game to develop, so view Bogosian more as a long-term keeper and low-end Fantasy option at this time.
News: D Zach Bogosian became the youngest player in Thrashers history to appear in a regular-season game when he debuted Friday against the Capitals. Bogosian, the team's first-round pick, is 18 years and 87 days old. Ilya Kovalchuk was 18 years and 172 days old when he made his debut on Oct. 4, 2001. Bogosian earned the first penalty of the game for holding after he had been on the ice only 24 seconds. The rookie's initiation ended when he was pounded by Washington's Donald Brashear in the final seconds as Brashear earned a penalty for roughing. All in all, Bogosian was on the ice for 12:58, finished at even, took one shot and totaled three penalties for nine minutes.
Analysis: Bogosian has nine games to make a lasting impression on the Thrashers management before they decide to keep him around or send him back to his junior club. Bogosian is making a strong case to stick around, but he will likely spend most of the season learning the ins-and-outs of the NHL. It could take a little bit for his offensive game to develop, so view Bogosian more as a long-term keeper and low-end Fantasy option at this time.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that F Mike Hoffman, D Zach Bogosian and D Nathan Oystrick are on the verge of making the Thrashers roster. None of them have played in an NHL game.
Analysis: Bogosian was the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft and scored over a point a game last year in the OHL. He's definitely worth taking in the later rounds of drafts as a nice sleeper. The other two guys don't have much Fantasy value off the bat.
News:The Sports Xchange reports if the Thrashers coaching staff isn't positive that rookie D Zach Bogosian is completely ready for the prime time, expect him to get sent back the Ontario Hockey League before Game 10 of the regular season. If he does get returned to his junior team, he will keep three years of eligibility under his entry-level contract.
Analysis: All signs point to Bogosian getting a chance to debut his skills in the NHL from Day 1. He might only have a small window to show his skills since he can be returned to his junior team. The Thrashers call Bogosian a "man-child," but he has already missed time in camp with a hip injury. The 18-year-old defenseman has to show he can handle playing in the NHL from Day 1 both mentally and physically. Bogosian remains a solid long-term keeper, but remains just a late-round Fantasy flier in larger leagues.
News: Thrashers D Zach Bogosian (hip) was able to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Red Wings. He did not have a point in 21:23 of ice time, but did spend two minutes in the penalty box for hooking.
Analysis: There is a lot of excitement building around Bogosian, who has a good chance of breaking camp with Atlanta. However, the 18-year-old defenseman has to show he can handle playing in the NHL from Day 1 both mentally and physically. Bogosian remains a solid long-term keeper, but remains just a late-round Fantasy flier in larger leagues.
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Thrashers rookie D Zach Bogosian returned to practice Wednesday after sitting out Tuesday's intrasquad game because of a strained hip flexor. Bogosian was the No. 3 pick in the 2008 draft.
Analysis: There is a lot of excitement building around Bogosian, who has a good chance of breaking camp with Atlanta. However, the 18-year-old defenseman has to show he can handle playing in the NHL from Day 1 both mentally and physically. This is definitely not a good start. Bogosian remains a solid long-term keeper, but remains just a late-round Fantasy flier in larger leagues.
News: The Atlanta Thrashers signed first-round pick Zach Bogosian to an entry-level contract Thursday. The 18-year-old defenseman was selected third overall after scoring 11 goals and 61 points with Peterborough of the Ontario Hockey League. Bogosian will take part in a prospect evaluation camp in Traverse City, Mich., before reporting for Atlanta's training camp on Sept. 20.
Analysis: Described by GM Don Waddell as an 18-year-old "man-child," Bogosian has quickly become the most-highly anticipated prospect in Atlanta since Dany Heatley or Ilya Kovalchuk. Thankfully, Bogosian seems much more mature, mentally and physically, than both Heatley, who caused a car crash that killed teammate Dan Snyder, and Kovalchuk, who sparred with former coach Bob Hartley for years. "Physicality-wise, he's so much ahead of other 18-year-olds," Waddell said. "He looks ready to play." The Thrashers see him pairing with Tobias Enstrom down the road, but if he does break camp with Atlanta, he will likely be a second- or third-pair defenseman. Bogosian remains a solid long-term Fantasy keeper and possible sleeper heading into 2008-09.
News:The Sports Xchange reports if Thrashers D Zach Bogosian, the third pick in the 2008 draft, can't find away to crack Atlanta's depleted defensive lineup, the Thrashers have bigger problems than it seems. Described by GM Don Waddell as an 18-year-old "man-child," Bogosian has quickly become the most-highly anticipated prospect in Atlanta since Dany Heatley or Ilya Kovalchuk. "He looks ready to play."
Analysis: Bogosian has a family history in sports behind him. His dad, Ike, was a safety and captain of the Syracuse University football team and his uncle, Steve, played defensive tackle at Army. He is still not under contract, but should be by the time camp rolls around. Bogosian is an excellent skater who plays a physical game, and already has the size to play in the NHL. He finished second among OHL defensemen (juniors) with 50 assists last season. The Thrashers seem him pairing with Tobias Enstrom down the road, but if he does break camp with Atlanta, he will likely be a second- or third-pair defenseman. Bogosian remains a solid long-term Fantasy keeper and possible sleeper heading into 2008-09.
