Habs' Eller Breaks Through In Game 4

News: Lars Eller generated an assist and put six shots on net in Thursday's 6-2 massacre of the Bolts.
Analysis: Lars Eller's outputs in Game 4 exceeded the entirety of his production from the first three games of the series, when he managed only five shot attempts while failing to score or dish out an assist. The 25-year-old has shown flashes of offensive brilliance for various stretches of his career, and if Thursday's performance is able to ignite him, the Habs might have a fighting chance to overcome a 3-1 series deficit.

Habs' Eller Scores Shortie

News: Lars Eller scored a short-handed goal in Wednesday night's 4-3 win over Ottawa in Game 1 of their playoff series.
Analysis: The goal came when Montreal was down a man for five minutes, courtesy of a P.K. Subban slashing major. Ottawa scored twice during its power play, so the Lars Eller goal was a stabilizer at a time when the game could have swung the Senators' way. Eller was Montreal's postseason scoring leader in 2014.

Habs' Eller Heating Up

News: Lars Eller scored the overtime game-winner in Thursday night's 4-3 win over Detroit. He has four goals and an assist in his last six games.
Analysis: Lars Eller is heating up in time for the postseason. If you recall, he was Montreal's leading scorer in the playoffs last season.

Habs' Eller Scores

News: Lars Eller scored his 12th goal of the season in Saturday night's 3-2 overtime win over Florida. The goal was his first point in five games.
Analysis: It hasn't showed up in the box score, but Lars Eller's played some good hockey lately, helping his line generate some offensive zone pressure.

Habs' Eller On Mini Run

News: Lars Eller had an assist in Tuesday night's 3-2 win over Florida. He has points in three of the past four games.
Analysis: It's a rare night when the Canadiens get production out of a line other than the top trio, but Lars Eller and his third-line mates were the difference against the Panthers. He's a streaky producer, so now's the time to catch him.

Habs' Eller: Four Points In Last Four Games

News: Lars Eller scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Islanders. He now has four points (two goals, two assists) in his last four games.
Analysis: The goal came into an empty net, but points are points. He's not exactly a fantasy must-own, but he could provide short-term value.

Habs' Eller: First Goal in 15 Games

News: Lars Eller snapped a 14-game goal drought when he potted the game-winning goal in Saturday's victory over Arizona. It was his 10th goal of the season.
Analysis: It's been a tough slog for Lars Eller who has struggled to take his game to the next level. He did manage 30 points in 26 games during the lockout-shortened season, but right now, he has a mere 18 in 61 contests. There's still time for him to grow into his game a bit, but our expectations have been sufficiently lowered. The speedy forward may simply be a great third-line guy with awkward finish.

Habs' Eller Dropped To Third Line

News: Lars Eller was dropped to the third line for Thursday night's win over Columbus, Hockey Inside Out reports. He had one shot on goal, one hit and finished plus-1 in 12:33 of ice time.
Analysis: Newcomer Devante Smith-Pelly was given a coveted spot as a top-six forward on the second line, forcing Lars Eller to skate with Brandon Prust and rookie Jacob De La Rose.

Habs' Eller On Trade Block

News: The Canadiens have been shopping Lars Eller "for weeks, if not months," according to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Expectations were high for Lars Eller this season coming off his breakthrough performance in the playoffs last spring, but he's been a disappointment. He's scored just one goal since Dec. 29.

Habs' Eller Scores In 2015

News: Lars Eller scored a power-play goal in Saturday's win over the Devils. It was his first goal since Dec. 29.
Analysis: Head coach Michel Therrien shook up the bottom two lines in an effort to wring some offensive-zone impact from the bottom six forwards. It didn't yield much in even-strength situations, but Lars Eller was able to snap out of his scoring drought with some time on the power play. He also won 11 of 16 faceoffs.

Habs' Eller On New Line

News: Lars Eller (lower body) had 11:59 of ice time in Tuesday night's loss to the Sabres.

Habs' Eller Appears To Be In Tuesday

News: Lars Eller (lower body) is on the ice for pregame warmups and appears to be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Sabres, John Lu of TSN reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller was a full participant in morning skate, and after noticing no complications with his injury in the afternoon, it looks like he'll be ready to play. He will center Jacob De La Rose and Jiri Sekac on the Habs' third line.

Habs' Eller Expected To Play

News: Lars Eller (lower body) will be a game-time decision Tuesday against Buffalo, but he's expected to play unless something changes, NHL.com's Arpon Basu reports.
Analysis: The Habs wanted to see Lars Eller at the morning skate, and everything apparently checked out. Barring a late aggravation, Eller should be in the lineup.

Habs' Eller Uncertain For Tuesday

News: Lars Eller (lower body) said he'll play Tuesday against Buffalo, but the team's decision is on hold until they see him in the morning skate, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller suffered a lower-body injury Sunday against the Coyotes. Montreal called up Jacob De La Rose from AHL Hamilton just in case Eller is unable to go.

Habs' Eller Done With Lower-Body Injury

News: Lars Eller suffered a lower-body injury in Sunday's game against the Coyotes and will not return, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller returned to the bench after suffering the injury, but it must have been worse than he first thought, as he will now sit for the remainder of Sunday's tilt. His next chance to return will come Tuesday against the Sabres, and he should receive an updated status at some point prior to the opening faceoff.

Habs' Eller Scores Game Winner

News: Lars Eller scored the game-winning goal and was plus-3 in Monday night's 3-1 win over Carolina. He has points in two straight games.
Analysis: Lars Eller, who missed some time due to an upper-body injury, scored for the first time since Nov. 29. He's back centering the third line with Brandon Prust and Jiri Sekac on the wings, a unit that accounted for two of Montreal's three goals.

Habs' Eller Returns To Action

News: Lars Eller returned to the lineup Saturday after missing five games due to an upper-body injury. He skated 14:38 in a 4-1 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Lars Eller returned to his spot as the center of the third line, only with new linemates: David Desharnais on left wing and P.A. Parenteau on right wing.

Habs' Eller Skates On Third Line Friday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) skated on the third line at Montreal's practice on Friday.
Analysis: Despite being activated from injured reserve Thursday, Lars Eller ended up serving as a scratch for the contest after taking part in warmups. With the demotion of Eric Tangradi back to AHL Hamilton on Friday, it looks like Eller will rejoin the lineup Saturday versus the Senators. He last played Dec. 5 against the Blackhawks before having to depart early with the injury.

Habs' Eller To Remain Out Thursday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) will not play Thursday against the Ducks, Guillaume Lefrancois of the Canadian Press reports.
Analysis: Though he was activated from injured reserve earlier in the day and was a participant in the Habs' pregame skate, Lars Eller's return to the lineup will have to wait another game. It seems to be just for precautionary purposes, as the Canadiens likely wouldn't have activated Eller if they weren't convinced he was close to 100 percent healthy. He'll have a good shot at returning to action Saturday versus the Senators, but Eric Tangradi will retain a spot in the lineup for Thursday.

Habs' Eller Activated From IR

News: Lars Eller (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of Thursday's game against the Ducks.
Analysis: Though the Canadiens are listing him as a game-time decision, Lars Eller's activation bodes well for his chances of suiting up Thursday. The team will see if he can make it through pregame warmups without any setbacks, and if that ends up coming to fruition, Eller will likely play his first game since Dec. 5.

Canadiens' Eller Could Return Thursday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Ducks, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller is on the verge of returning after missing the last four games, and he could take the ice Thursday night. If he does not play Thursday, it seems likely Eller will be ready to go for Montreal's next game Saturday against the Senators.

Habs' Eller Cleared For Contact

News: Lars Eller (upper body) was cleared to resume practicing with full contact Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller has been out since Dec. 6 with the upper-body ailment, but looks like he could be zeroing in on a return to the Montreal lineup. He didn't take in any regular line work at Wednesday's practice, however, making it doubtful that his return will come Thursday against the Ducks. Saturday's home date with the Senators might be a more viable target for Eller.

Habs' Eller Skates

News: Lars Eller (upper body) practiced in a non-contact jersey Monday, John Lu of TSN reports.
Analysis: The center hasn't played in 10 days now, but it's a good sign that he's back on the ice at least. He'll probably miss a few more games while he recovers.
