Habs' Eller Has Lower Body Injury

News: Lars Eller (lower body) is on the training camp injured list, Renaud Lavoie of Journal de Montreal reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller didn't skate Monday for the second straight day after being hit by teammate Alexei Emelin during Saturday's scrimmage. Eller signed a four-year, $14 million deal to remain with the Canadiens over the summer, and is expected to start the season as the team's third line center.

Eller Signs Four-Year Deal With Habs

News: Lars Eller signed a four-year, $14 million deal with the Canadiens on Thursday, the Canadian Press reports.
Analysis: The deal will pay Lars Eller $3.5 million each of the next four seasons. Coming off of a relatively average 2013-14 season in which he scored 26 points (12 goals) and recorded a career-worst minus-15 rating, Eller will look to prove he's worthy of the new deal.

Habs And Eller Headed For Arbitration

News: Lars Eller and the Canadiens exchanged figures Wednesday ahead of Friday's arbitration hearing, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: The Canadiens offered $1.65 million, a modest increase over the $1.5 million Lars Eller earned last season. The player and his representatives countered with a request of $3.1 million.

Habs' Eller Files For Arbitration

News: Lars Eller has elected to file for salary arbitration, reports TSN.ca. The Canadiens had tendered him a qualifying offer on June 30.
Analysis: He's coming off a 77-game season in which he scored 12 goals and 14 assists while struggling with a minus-15 rating. It was a drop in production from his promising 2012-13 when he picked up 30 points in 46 games during that lockout-shortened season. He's now 25 and needs to prove he's worthy of a long-term deal. He could end up with bridge deal.

Habs' Eller Ends Scoreless Skid

News: Lars Eller chipped in with two assists in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: After providing a goal and an assist in Game 1 of the series, Lars Eller was held off the scoresheet for the next three games before coming back strong Tuesday. In addition to his two helpers, Eller finished the night with a plus-3 rating and collected six penalty minutes, both of which were his best marks in either category so far in the postseason. He's been a key offensive contributor throughout the playoffs for the Habs, notching five goals and eight assists over 16 games.

Eller Only Bright Light For Habs

Habs' Eller Continues Productive Postseason

News: Lars Eller picked up an assist and scored an empty-net goal in Tuesday's Game 3 victory over Boston.
Analysis: Lars Eller's simply sparkled in these playoffs so far, as he now has eight points (three goals, five assists) in seven contests. He was far from a popular name in playoff pools, so if you landed him cheaply, you're being rewarded handsomely.

Habs' Eller Shines In First-Round Sweep

News: Lars Eller scored his second goal of the playoffs in Tuesday's series-clinching victory over the Bolts.
Analysis: Lars Eller was one of the instrumental figures behind the Canadiens' sweep, providing a point in each game while chipping in defensively with nine hits and four blocked shots in total. His breakout should allow him to see ample ice time during the next round of postseason play.

Habs' Eller Adds Two Points In OT Win

News: Lars Eller picked up a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 OT win over the Lightning.
Analysis: With just 12 goals and 14 assists in 77 regular season games, fantasy owners probably overlooked Lars Eller heading into the playoffs, but he has broken out lately with five points in his last three contests.

News: Lars Eller (illness) is not in the lineup Wednesday night against the Blackhawks, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.

News: Lars Eller had two assists, including one on Brian Gionta's game winner, in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Red Wings.
Analysis: Lars Eller was moved up to the third line, centering Rene Bourque and Gionta (two goals) after playing the last several games on the fourth line. With the goal he scored in Friday's come-from-behind win over Ottawa, Eller has three points in two games after a nine-game drought.

Analysis: Lars Eller rejoined the kids, Brendan Gallagher and Alex Galchenyuk, for the night but the trio combined for a total of zero shots on goal in a 4-1 win. Once Plekanec is back, Eller will be back on the fourth line.

Habs' Eller Expected To Play Monday

News: Lars Eller (lower body) was on the ice for morning skate and looks like he'll play Monday against the Bruins, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.

Habs' Eller Suffers Lower-Body Injury

News: Lars Eller left Saturday's game with a lower-body injury and will not return, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller logged just 6:37 of ice time Saturday, after falling between 13 and 16 minutes in each of the previous five games. Until more information is available, he can be considered questionable for Monday's game in Boston.

Habs Drop Eller To Fourth Line

News: Lars Eller was dropped to the fourth line during Friday's practice, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust's season-ending upper-body injury has prompted some adjustments, and coach Michel Therrien juggled his lines at Friday's practice. The coach feels Lars Eller, who has performed well in as a penalty killer, can be best deployed in a defensive role on the fourth line while Alex Galchenyuk takes over as center on the third line. Any chance of Eller regaining the scoring touch he had to start the season will be quashed by moving to the fourth line.

Habs' Eller Sparks Comeback

News: Lars Eller scored a goal and assisted on another in Saturday's night's 5-4 overtime win over Ottawa. It was Eller's goal that sparked a three-goal, third-period onslaught in the final four minutes to send the game into extra time.
Analysis: The goal the first since Jan. 2 for Lars Eller, who entered the game with just one point in the previous 24 games. He was an unlikely spark for a comeback. Until he scored, Eller had been on ice for all four of Ottawa's goals and picked up a couple of penalties.

Habs Reunite Eller With Former Linemates

News: Lars Eller was reunited with Brendan Gallagher and Alex Galchenyuk at Friday's practice and the three will skate together Saturday night against the Senators, Hockey Inside Out reports. "We know each other very well and we're very comfortable playing with each other. I look forward to Saturday," Eller told reporters after practice. "I always like playing with those two. We have fun playing together and have different assets which gel well together. We're always creating scoring chances out there, and when you do that the goals will follow."
Analysis: This unit was very successful early in the season and the current reunion is good news for Lars Eller, who is mired in the worst slump of his career with just one assist in the past 24 games.

Montreal's Eller Starts Thursday

News: Lars Eller will return to Montreal's starting lineup Thursday, LNH.com reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller will be back in the Canadiens' lineup after being a healthy scratch for Wednesday's game. While it's good to see Eller back starting, he's been very cold of late and has yet to score a goal in 2014.
