Habs' Eller Extends Streak

News: Lars Eller assisted on the Canadiens' lone goal in Tuesday night's 2-1 shootout victory over the Panthers. He now has points in three straight games.
Analysis: Lars Eller added a couple of blocked shots and three hits to his game resume. He's played well in the four games since returning from an upper-body injury.

Habs' Eller Scores Game Winner

News: Lars Eller scored the game-winning goal and was plus-3 in Monday night's 3-1 win over Carolina. He has points in two straight games.
Analysis: Lars Eller, who missed some time due to an upper-body injury, scored for the first time since Nov. 29. He's back centering the third line with Brandon Prust and Jiri Sekac on the wings, a unit that accounted for two of Montreal's three goals.

Habs' Eller Returns To Action

News: Lars Eller returned to the lineup Saturday after missing five games due to an upper-body injury. He skated 14:38 in a 4-1 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Lars Eller returned to his spot as the center of the third line, only with new linemates: David Desharnais on left wing and P.A. Parenteau on right wing.

Habs' Eller Skates On Third Line Friday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) skated on the third line at Montreal's practice on Friday.
Analysis: Despite being activated from injured reserve Thursday, Lars Eller ended up serving as a scratch for the contest after taking part in warmups. With the demotion of Eric Tangradi back to AHL Hamilton on Friday, it looks like Eller will rejoin the lineup Saturday versus the Senators. He last played Dec. 5 against the Blackhawks before having to depart early with the injury.

Habs' Eller To Remain Out Thursday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) will not play Thursday against the Ducks, Guillaume Lefrancois of the Canadian Press reports.
Analysis: Though he was activated from injured reserve earlier in the day and was a participant in the Habs' pregame skate, Lars Eller's return to the lineup will have to wait another game. It seems to be just for precautionary purposes, as the Canadiens likely wouldn't have activated Eller if they weren't convinced he was close to 100 percent healthy. He'll have a good shot at returning to action Saturday versus the Senators, but Eric Tangradi will retain a spot in the lineup for Thursday.

Habs' Eller Activated From IR

News: Lars Eller (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of Thursday's game against the Ducks.
Analysis: Though the Canadiens are listing him as a game-time decision, Lars Eller's activation bodes well for his chances of suiting up Thursday. The team will see if he can make it through pregame warmups without any setbacks, and if that ends up coming to fruition, Eller will likely play his first game since Dec. 5.

Canadiens' Eller Could Return Thursday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Ducks, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller is on the verge of returning after missing the last four games, and he could take the ice Thursday night. If he does not play Thursday, it seems likely Eller will be ready to go for Montreal's next game Saturday against the Senators.

Habs' Eller Cleared For Contact

News: Lars Eller (upper body) was cleared to resume practicing with full contact Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller has been out since Dec. 6 with the upper-body ailment, but looks like he could be zeroing in on a return to the Montreal lineup. He didn't take in any regular line work at Wednesday's practice, however, making it doubtful that his return will come Thursday against the Ducks. Saturday's home date with the Senators might be a more viable target for Eller.

Habs' Eller Skates

News: Lars Eller (upper body) practiced in a non-contact jersey Monday, John Lu of TSN reports.
Analysis: The center hasn't played in 10 days now, but it's a good sign that he's back on the ice at least. He'll probably miss a few more games while he recovers.

Habs Place Eller On IR

News: Lars Eller (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
Analysis: Lars Eller is expected to miss at least another week or two due to the injury, so moving him to IR will simply give the Canadiens more roster flexibility until he's able to return. The forward remains limited to skating on his own at this time.

Habs' Eller Skating

News: Lars Eller (upper body) skated before Thursday's practice with a team athletic therapist, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: The good news is that Lars Eller has begun skating; the bad news is that he's out for another one-to-two weeks.

Habs' Eller (Upper Body) To Miss 1-2 Weeks

News: Lars Eller (upper body) is expected to miss one-to-two weeks, Marc Antoine Godin of the Montreal Press reports.
Analysis: After Lars Eller failed to practice the last couple of days, the Canadiens decided to push his return timetable back and remove his day-to-day tag. He'll likely take the next week to rest up before resuming on-ice work in anticipation of a return near the end of the month.

Habs' Eller Misses Practice Monday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) did not practice with the team Monday.
Analysis: Lars Eller is dealing with a suspected shoulder injury, and looks doubtful to be in the lineup Tuesday against the Canucks. The center has collected seven goals and four assists in 28 games to date.

Canadiens' Eller Out Saturday

News: Lars Eller (upper body) did not play in Saturday night's 4-1 loss to the Stars and will undergo an MRI when the team returns to Montreal, the Montreal Gazette reports. Hockey Inside Out speculates the injury is to Eller's shoulder.
Analysis: We'll learn more about Lars Eller's status for Tuesday night's home game against Vancouver after the results of the MRI are made available. Meanwhile, rookie Sven Andrighetto replaced Eller as the center of the third line and scored the Habs' lone goal Saturday.

Canadiens' Eller Leaves Game

News: Lars Eller left Friday night's loss to the Blackhawks in the second period with an upper-body injury, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Lars Eller has played well of late, getting off 13 shots with a goal and an assist in recent games against Buffalo and Colorado. The Habs are in action Saturday night in Dallas, so we should learn more about Eller's status during the day.

Habs' Eller Scores In Loss

News: Lars Eller took a team-high seven shots and scored his seventh goal of the season in Saturday night's 4-3 shootout loss to the Sabres. He also blocked two shots and won 13 of 17 faceoffs.
Analysis: It was a nice night for Lars Eller, who's not typically a high-volume shooter. The goal was his sixth tally 32 shots (18.8 shooting percentage) in the month of November. Eller's fortunes grew when head coach Michel Therrien put Jiri Sekac on his line, but after some initial heat, that unit has stalled a bit.

Habs' Eller Practices On Power Play

News: Lars Eller and Jiri Sekac rotated in on a new power-play attack during Thursday's practice session, Hockey Inside Out reports. The Canadiens rank 25th in power-play effectiveness, so head coach Michel Therrien was looking at a different option.
Analysis: Therrien had the team in a 1-3-1 lineup that featured one defenseman (P.K. Subban) and four forwards, but he's not committing to rolling out this look in games just yet.

Habs' Eller Lights Lamp

News: Lars Eller scored his sixth goal of the season in Thursday night's 4-1 win over the Blues.
Analysis: November's been good to Lars Eller, who has eight points (six goals, two assists) in 10 games. Ever since head coach Michel Therrien found the right combination on the third line, adding Jiri Sekac and Brandon Prust, Eller's taken off.

Habs' Eller: Three Straight Game-Winning goals

News: Lars Eller scored the winning goal for the third consecutive game in Thursday's 5-1 decision over Boston. He also added a power-play assist.
Analysis: Three games, three goals, three game-winners -- there's something you don't see too often. Lars Eller owns a modest eight points in 17 games, but five of those have come over the last three and he continues to see a hearty amount of ice time for a third-liner.

Habs' Eller Scores In Second Straight

News: Lars Eller scored a goal for the second straight game Tuesday, opening the scoring in the second period with what turned out to be the game-winner in a 3-0 victory over Winnipeg.
Analysis: Lars Eller got off to a terrible start to the year, but has looked much improved over the last two games, picking up three points with a plus-3 rating to pull his plus-minus up out of the negative double digits. He'll need to show more consistency on offense to be worthy of wide fantasy consideration, though.

Canadiens' Eller Has Two-Point Night

News: Lars Eller scored the game-winning goal and assisted on another in Saturday night's 4-1 win over the Wild.
Analysis: Lars Eller's third line, with Brandon Prust and Jiri Sekac, was the Habs' best Saturday. They scored two of the four goals and each had two points. The trio put pressure on Minnesota defensemen and have the offensive skill (Eller, Sekac) to be a scoring threat. We suspect Sekac, who had been a seven-game scratch prior to this week, will remain in the lineup.

Habs' Eller Scores In Loss

News: Lars Eller picked up a goal in 14:22 worth of ice time in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: After reaching or approaching the 30 point plateau in each of the past three seasons, Lars Eller has stumbled out of the gates and has recorded just three points this year. His poor play landed him on the bench a couple of games ago, but his playing time has returned to normal though the situation could be worth monitoring if his production doesn't increase.

Canadiens' Eller Benched

News: Lars Eller picked up a neutral-zone roughing penalty during Tuesday night's 2-1 shootout win over Calgary and was given a seat for the third period and overtime, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: The Canadiens managed to steal two points in western Canada on a night when they were outplayed by the hard-working Flames, whose relentless pressure forced some bad Montreal penalties in a close game. Lars Eller (5:46 ice time, 12 shifts) along with linemate Rene Bourque (7:47, 12 shifts) often played the role of spectator Tuesday night, so owners should monitor their ice time closely going forward.

Eller's First Is Game-Winner For Habs

News: Lars Eller scored his first goal of the season Saturday, the game-winner in a 3-1 victory over the Rangers.
Analysis: There's been some near misses through the first seven games, but Lars Eller finally got some puck luck in the eighth contest of the season.

Canadiens' Eller Gets First Point

News: Lars Eller had an assist, his first point of the season, in Saturday night's 3-2 win over Colorado.
Analysis: Lars Eller, who signed a four-year deal in the offseason, is off to a slow start. Through six games, he's a minus-6. His line, Montreal's third grouping which includes Rene Bourque and Jiri Sekac, has produced three points (1 goal, two assists) and is minus-17.
