Oshie Scores Lone Goal As Blues Get Eliminated

News: T.J. Oshie scored the Blues' lone goal in their series-ending Game 6 loss to the Blackhawks on Sunday.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie chipped in with markers in each of the final two games of the series, but poor goaltending from Ryan Miller and a lack of offense from the rest of his mates ultimately resulted in the Blues being sent home early. The 2013-14 campaign will still end up going down a fabulous one for Oshie, who in addition to becoming a household name for his heroics for the American squad in the Olympics, scored a career-high 60 points during the regular season.

Blues' Oshie (Upper Body) Will Play In Game 2

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) is participating in pregame warmups and will play in Saturday's Game 2 against the Blackhawks, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie was considered questionable to play heading into Saturday after missing Game 1 with an upper-body injury. He skated prior to the game and will be in the lineup Saturday afternoon.

Blues' Oshie (Upper Body) Returns To Action

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) returned to action Saturday and logged more than 25 minutes in Game 2. He delivered one hit and one minor penalty, and was minus-1.
Analysis: He'll need to step up large now that David Backes is out with an injury. They're going to need him.

Blues' Oshie (Upper Body) Questionable For Game 2

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) is considered questionable for Saturday's Game 2 against the Blackhawks, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie sat out Game 1 but skated Friday morning and the possibility remains that he could return for Game 2. Consider him a game-time call at this point, with a likely announcement regarding his status coming Saturday afternoon.

Blues' Oshie Confirmed Out For Game 1

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) will not play in Thursday's Game 1 against the Blackhawks, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Coach Ken Hitchcock was gracious enough to rule T.J. Oshie out following morning skate, rather than waiting until pregame warmups before his unavailability became apparent. Fortunately, the Blues will get right wing Vladimir Tarasenko (broken hand) back into the lineup after he missed the last month, taking away some of the sting of Oshie's absence.

Blues' Oshie Appears Out Thursday

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) stayed on the ice for extra work with the expected healthy scratches at morning skate, a sign he likely won't be available for Thursday's Game 1 against Chicago, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie missed the final two regular season games with the upper-body injury. The Blues enter the postseason with several key players banged up, but with top-line center David Backes looking like he'll slot back in as the top-line center, Oshie could be the team's most high-profile player bound for the press box.

Blues' Oshie Day-To-Day

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) skated on Tuesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: When asked Tuesday if he though he would be able to play in Thursday's playoff opener against Chicago, T.J. Oshie responded: "I don't know. You've got to see how I am tonight, how I am tomorrow morning. It really is a day-to-day thing. If I can, if medically it's OK and I'm not going to hurt myself worse, or hurt my team, I'll be in." More on Oshie's status as Thursday's Game 1 approaches.

Blues Oshie (Upper Body) Out Sunday

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) will miss Sunday's season finale for the Blues, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie injured his upper body on Thursday and missed Friday as well. The severity of his injury is unknown, but the Blues probably wouldn't chance Oshie's health in a meaningless regular season finale with the playoffs on their way. The question will be whether he is healthy enough to participate when the playoffs begin.

Blues' Oshie Out Friday

News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) will not play Friday against the Stars.
Analysis: The severity of the injury that knocked T.J. Oshie out of Thursday's game is unclear, but the setback will prevent him from playing Friday night. Oshie is considered day-to-day with the setback, so it seems unlikely that it will prevent him from being ready for the beginning of the playoffs.

Blues' Oshie Day-To-Day

News: Blues coach Ken Hitchock said T.J. Oshie (upper body) is day-to-day after exiting Thursday's game against the Wild with an apparent upper-body injury.
Analysis: After taking an elbow to the face/head from Minnesota's Mike Rupp, T.J. Oshie was clearly shaken up and didn't return to the game, so his day-to-day status comes as good news to fantasy owners and Blues fans alike. With the team sliding and now in danger of falling down the Western Conference standings, the Blues won't necessarily take a cautious approach. That said, the team has just two regular-season games remaining, and the hit on Oshie didn't look good.

Blues' Oshie Injured After Big Hit

News: T.J. Oshie, who exited Thursday's game against the Wild after taking a big hit, will not return to the contest.
Analysis: Minnesota's Mike Rupp likely has a suspension coming, after he leveled T.J. Oshie with an elbow to the head during the second period of Thursday's game. The Blues are still fighting for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and to a lesser extent the President's Trophy, but Oshie doesn't seem like a particularly good bet to return before the end of the regular season, given that the team has just two more games remaining after Thursday's. No diagnosis was available during the contest, but news of a concussion would come as no surprise.

Oshie's Hat Trick Helps Blues Tame Wild

News: T.J. Oshie led the charge against the Wild on Thursday, notching his first career hat trick in a 5-1 blowout. His second tally came shorthanded in the first period and also held up as the game-winner.
Analysis: On the heels of David Backes getting tricky with three goals of his own Tuesday in Toronto, it's safe to say that the Blues' top line is officially en fuego. With two more points for Backes and an assist for linemate Alex Steen at the expense of the Wild, the trio has now combined for an outrageous 14 points in the last two games. The Washington native also reached two milestones in scoring his 19th, 20th and 21st goals on the year - his first time to 20 goals and his first 60-point season. The Blues play six of their last nine games at Scottrade Center, so conditions will be ideal for No. 74 to build upon his already-lofty stats.

Blues' Oshie Picks Up Three Points

News: T.J. Oshie ended a three-game scoreless slump with a goal, two assists and a plus-2 during Tuesday's victory in Toronto.
Analysis: Despite the three games of silence, T.J. Oshie's got seven points in his last six, thanks to a pair of three-point contests. He now has a new career high in points -- 57 -- and with 18 goals, he's just one off his career mark in that category.

Blues' Oshie Back In Lineup Wednesday

News: T.J. Oshie (personal) will return to the lineup Wednesday vs. the Blackhawks, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie sat out Monday's game against the Jets to be beside his wife for the birth of the couple's child, but he won't miss any further action for the Blues. Between the birth of his child, his Olympic heroics against Russia, and the continuation of the best NHL season of his career, the last few months have been very kind to Oshie.

Blues' Oshie (Personal) Will Not Play Monday

News: T.J. Oshie (personal) will not play Monday night against the Jets, the St. Louis Dispatch reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie's fiance gave birth on Monday, and although Oshie was optimistic at first that he'd be able to play in Monday night's game, it appears he will sit this one out after all. Expect him to return to action Wednesday against the Blackhawks.

Blues' Oshie Could Miss Monday's Game

News: T.J. Oshie's fiance is expected to give birth to their child Monday, and while Oshie said he'll play against the Jets if all goes well, there's a chance he misses the game, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie seems optimistic that he can attend to the birth of his child and play Monday, but he could be forced to miss a game if there are any complications. The 27-year-old has already matched his career-high of 54 points from 2011-12, in 13 fewer games.

Blues' Oshie Rattles Off Three Points

News: T.J. Oshie scored a goal and contributed an assist in Thursday's win over Edmonton.
Analysis: He's been a bit inconsistent since returning from the Olympics, but still does have seven points in his last six games -- hard to complain about.

First Points Since Break For Blues' Oshie

News: T.J. Oshie scored a shorthanded goal and added an assist in Tuesday's win over Tampa Bay -- his first points in five games, dating back to before the Olympics.
Analysis: The goal is good to see, but it came on T.J. Oshie's only shot of the game, and it's concerning that he's taken only two shots in his last four contests. Oshie's never been a super-high-volume shooter, but he's well off his usual pace this year. Despite that, his shooting percentage is way up, so he's either due for a course correction or simply taking higher-quality shots.

Blues' Oshie The Hero For American Squad

News: T.J. Oshie was successful on four of his six shootout attempts as the Americans nipped Russia on Saturday.
Analysis: Because international rules allow a player to take multiple shots after three rounds of a shootout are completed, coach Dan Bylsma selected T.J. Oshie to take the final five attempts for the Americans before he broke through for the winning tally in Round 8. Oshie employed a variety of approaches to disrupt goalie Sergei Bobrovsky's timing, with his final attempt - a forehand shot under the goalie's pads - particularly deft. Oshie is one of the lower-profile players on the American roster, but his performance will likely go down in hockey lore for several years to come.

Blues' Oshie Scores Game-Winner Thursday

News: T.J. Oshie scored his 14th goal of the season to give the Blues an overtime win against the Bruins on Thursday.
Analysis: With the Blues crashing the net during the extra period, the puck bounced off the back of the net and onto T.J. Oshie's stick. He was able to bank it off the back of Tuukka Rask's pad for the game-winner. It was Oshie's second goal in as many games and he now has four points in his last four games.

Blues' Oshie Notches Two Points

News: T.J. Oshie scored his 13th goal of the year and contributed his 32nd assist in Tuesday's shootout loss to Ottawa.
Analysis: With 45 points in 55 games -- and a plus-16 rating to boot -- T.J. Oshie's on pace to blow by his career highs in goals, assists and plus-minus. With 27 games left on the Blues' schedule, he's just six goals and nine points short of his current high-water marks, set in 2011-12.

Oshie Back At It for Blues

News: T.J. Oshie grabbed an assist on the Blues' lone goal in Friday's loss to Carolina, his second point in three games.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie remains a part of one of the league's highest scoring lines with David Backes and Jaden Schwartz. Expect Oshie to surpass his career high of 54 points in the next month of NHL games. He's a valuable two-way player for the Blues, although owners would like to see a few more goals.

Blues' Oshie Ends Minor Slump

News: T.J. Oshie potted the game-tying goal with under a minute left in regulation Saturday vs. the Islanders.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie's heroics extended the game to overtime, with the Blues ultimately picking up the win in the shootout. The last-minute tally ended a three-game pointless streak for Oshie, who had been moved off the top line over the last couple of games.

Oshie Only Man Scoring For Blues

News: T.J. Oshie scored the Blues' only goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Los Angeles, beating Jonathan Quick on a second-period penalty shot.
Analysis: The Blues have three goals in the last two games, and T.J. Oshie's scored all of them. In fact, he's scored seven of his 11 goals on the year in the last nine games.

Oshie's Two Goals Carry Blues

News: T.J. Oshie scored both the Blues' goals in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Phoenix.
Analysis: After a three-game scoreless streak, T.J. Oshie got right back at it, finally reaching 10 goals on the year. With 39 points and a plus-15, he's on pace to shatter his career high of 54 points in a season, set back in 2011-12.
