Habs' Pacioretty Pots Goal In Win

News: Max Pacioretty potted his second goal of the playoffs in Sunday's series-clinching Game 6 win over the Senators.
Analysis: The goal was an empty-netter and came with less than a second remaining, but it counts the same nonetheless. Max Pacioretty also finished with a plus-2 rating on the night, making up for the minus-2 he sported through the first five games of the series. The winger finished the series with just the empty-net goal and a power-play tally in Game 1, but figures to be the team's top offensive producers going forward.

Habs' Pacioretty Scores In Return

News: Max Pacioretty returned to the lineup in Game 2, scoring a goal and firing three shots on goal in Friday's win over Ottawa.
Analysis: A great return for Max Pacioretty, who had been out of the lineup since April. 5 with an upper-body injury. While Pacioretty hasn't been a huge playoff performer in his career, the 26-year-old appears to be in full health and will play a large role in determining how far the Habs make it this postseason.

Canadiens' Pacioretty Will Play Friday

News: Max Pacioretty will play on Friday in Game 2 of the Habs' playoff series against the Senators, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty will almost certainly return to his spot on Montreal's second line with David Desharnais and Devante Smith-Pelly. Pacioretty, who has tallied 37 goals and 30 assists in 80 games this season, should provide a noticeable offensive boost for the Canadiens.

Canadiens' Pacioretty A Game-Time Call

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) is considered a game-time decision for Friday's Game 2 against the Senators, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty missed Wednesday's Game 1, but he was cleared for contact earlier in the week and could return as soon as Friday. He worked with a regular line at Thursday's practice, which is an encouraging sign, but the team is yet to tip its hand as to what his status will be for Game 2.

Habs' Pacioretty Practices Thursday

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) worked on a line with David Desharnais and Devante Smith-Pelly during Thursday's practice, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.
Analysis: While Max Pacioretty's status for Friday's Game 2 against the Sens has yet to be confirmed, the fact that he was working on a regular line Thursday bodes well for his availability on that front. Meanwhile, fellow Habs foward P.A. Parenteau is considered day-to-day with an upper-body ailment, while Ottawa's Mark Stone is iffy for Friday's game -- at a minimum -- due to a wrist injury.

Habs' Pacioretty Ruled Out For Game 1

News: Coach Michel Therrien said Max Pacioretty (upper body) has been ruled out for Wednesday's postseason opener against the Senators, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty was forced out of the Canadiens' final two regular-season matches due to the injury, but there was some hope he might be able to play in Game 1 after he was cleared for contact earlier this week. However, he wasn't a participant in line rushes during Wednesday's morning skate, and will now receive some extra time off to heal up. Therrien wouldn't rule Pacioretty out for Friday's Game 2, but the winger will probably need to demonstrate to the coaching staff that he's healthy the morning of the game before slotting back into the lineup. With Pacioretty unavailable Wednesday, Devante Smith-Pelly is slated to occupy a top-six role.

Habs' Pacioretty Cleared For Contact

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) has been cleared for contact, TSN's John Lu reports.
Analysis: That said, Lu adds that coach Michel Therrien indicated that at this stage he'd be surprised if Max Pacioretty played Wednesday against the Senators, but so far such an outcome has yet to be ruled out. Pacioretty was able to take part in Tuesday's practice, though he didn't skate on a regular line.

Habs' Pacioretty Practices Tuesday

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) participated in Tuesday's practice, but did not take part in regular line rushes, TSN's John Lu reports.
Analysis: While Max Pacioretty's presence on the ice Tuesday is encouraging, his status for Wednesday's playoff opener against the Senators remains unclear at this stage, with Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports noting that the winger doesn't appear to have been cleared for contact yet.

Habs' Pacioretty Iffy For Game 1

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) hopes to be cleared for contact Tuesday, Arpon Basu of LNH.com reports.
Analysis: At this stage, Max Pacioretty isn't yet cleared for contact, and it's uncertain whether he will be ready for Wednesday's playoff opener against the Senators. The Habs, however, don't seem inclined to rush Pacioretty back and according to coach Michel Therrien, the forward won't suit up again until he is 100 percent.

Habs' Pacioretty Takes Contact In Practice

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) practiced with the team wearing a normal jersey Monday, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty continues to progress toward a return for the Canadiens as they prepare for the playoffs, and passed the biggest hurdle Monday by returning to practice. At this point, it seems possible he'll be ready for the opening playoff game Monday, but his status should be updated at some point before the game Wednesday.

Habs' Pacioretty Gets In A Skate Saturday

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) skated for just under a half hour Saturday morning, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty wasn't doing any work with the puck, so the skate session strictly amounted to cardio work. Coach Michel Therrien hasn't unveiled a timetable for the star winger's return, so it's unknown at this time if he'll be available for the Habs' first game of the playoffs.

Habs' Pacioretty To Miss Next Two Games

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) will miss Montreal's final two regular season contests.
Analysis: Beyond that, coach Michel Therrien indicated that the forward would be re-evaluated next week,. With that in mind, the team is not ruling out a potential lineup return for Max Pacioretty during the first round of the postseason, but the uncertainty of his situation makes him a dicey early selection in playoff pools.

Habs' Pacioretty Out Thursday

News: Max Pacioretty (upper body) won't play Thursday against the Red Wings, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Per the report, Max Pacioretty's status beyond that contest won't be clarified until he's evaluated by doctors back in Montreal, but for now, things are cloudy for Saturday's regular-season finale.

Habs' Pacioretty Dealing With Upper-Body Injury

News: The Canadiens are calling the injury that forced Max Pacioretty out of Sunday's win over the Panthers an upper-body issue, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: We'll await further word on Max Pacioretty's status, but he looks iffy for Thursday's game against the Red Wings at this stage. The Habs then conclude their regular season slate Saturday against the Maple Leafs.

Habs' Pacioretty Leaves Sunday's Contest

News: Max Pacioretty, who left Sunday's game against the Panthers after landing awkwardly into the boards, will not return to the contest.
Analysis: Until more info is known about Max Pacioretty's injury, consider the forward day-to-day in advance of Thursday's game against the Red Wings.

Habs' Pacioretty Exits Sunday's Game

News: Max Pacioretty headed to the Habs' dressing room after landing awkwardly into the boards Sunday against the Panthers, Jameson C. Olive of foxsports.com reports.
Analysis: More on Max Pacioretty's status as we know it, but with just two more games after Sunday's contest left on the Habs' regular season slate, any missed time on the part of the team's leading scorer would be a tough hit as the playoffs approach.

Habs' Pacioretty: Eight Points In Last Nine Games

News: Max Pacioretty scored the game-winning goal in overtime Saturday to lift the Canadiens to a 3-2 victory over the Panthers.
Analysis: He has five goals and three assists in his last nine games and the goal gives him 65 points, a tally that equals his career mark (set in 2011-12). But the thing that impresses us the most is his plus-minus. He has gone from plus-eight last season to a remarkable plus-40 this year.

Habs' Pacioretty Pots 35th

News: Max Pacioretty scored his 35th goal of the season and added an assist in Thursday's 4-0 win over Carolina.
Analysis: The sniper had missed the scoresheet in two straight, but corrected course nicely in this one. He's now just three points short of his career-high 65, set in 2011-12, and unless the injury bug strikes, he's sure to set a new high-water mark. Max Pacioretty's plus-1 on the evening also pushed his NHL-leading rating to a whopping plus-39 for the season.

Habs' Pacioretty Nets Shortie Winner

News: Max Pacioretty scored his 34th goal of the season in Saturday's win over the Islanders. The goal, which came while shorthanded, stood up as the winner.
Analysis: Remarkably, it was his second-straight game with a shortie and he has three goals in those two games. He's on pace for a career mark in points right now (he has 60) and is an auto-play.

Habs' Pacioretty Is Special

News: Max Pacioretty scored two goals Thursday night -- one on the power play and one shorthanded -- in a 5-2 loss to the Senators.
Analysis: He started the game by giving the Habs a 2-0 lead less than nine minutes in, but their offense went to sleep after that. The Canadiens have hit the skids in March, winning once in the past six games while scoring just eight goals, and Max Pacioretty has three of them. He's the one consistently productive forward for the league's 21st-ranked offense.

Habs' Pacioretty Notches 31st

News: Max Pacioretty scored his 31st goal of the season in Thursday night's 4-3 shootout loss to Los Angeles.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty had been pointless in the first two games of the road trip, his first two-game stretch of futility since late January. He's been a remarkably consistent scorer the past five weeks, with 18 points in the last 19 games. Going back to Dec. 9, Pacioretty has not had a scoreless streak longer than two games.

Habs' Pacioretty Dishes Out Two In Win

News: Max Pacioretty set up two Canadiens goals in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty is just five points away from matching last season's total of 60, as increased diversity in his production (30 goals, 25 assists) have aided his climb to a top-20 spot on the league scoring list. His fantasy value has also taken a substantial leap from 2013-14 thanks to a lofty plus-36 rating, which ranks first in the NHL.

News: Max Pacioretty scored twice in the Canadiens' 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday night. His point streak stands at four games and six points, including four goals.
Analysis: He netted the winner, finished plus-2 and fired six shots. He's really upped the heat since the calendar flipped to 2015 (24 points in 22 games).

News: Max Pacioretty had an assist and one shot on goal in Thursday night's 3-2 shootout loss to Florida. He's registered at least a point in three straight games.
Analysis: Max Pacioretty normally gets more than one puck to the net, but this one was effective as it led to a Brendan Gallagher rebound goal. In the past 12 games, Pacioretty has six goals and six assists.
