Ducks' Beleskey Nets Overtime Winner

News: Matt Beleskey gave the Ducks a 3-2 series edge over the Blackhawks with his early-overtime winner in Game 5 on Monday.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey increased his postseason goal total to seven with his biggest tally of the season so far. After his team squandered a two-goal lead late in regulation, Beleskey finished off a two-on-one started by Ryan Kesler just 45 seconds into the overtime period. Beleskey has thrived in the playoffs despite not spending much time on the top line, which he did in the regular season. Instead, Beleskey has been able to add some punch to a second line with Jakob Silfverberg and Ryan Kesler, giving his team even more scoring depth.

Point Streak Hits Six Games For Ducks' Beleskey

News: Matt Beleskey pushed his point streak to six games with an assist in Sunday's Game 1 victory over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: After registering a goal in each of the five second-round games against the Flames, Matt Beleskey served as a setup man in the Western Conference Finals opener, earning a secondary helper on Hampus Lindholm's first-period tally. Beleskey isn't being used on the Ryan Getzlaf-Corey Perry line, but a role on the second trio with Ryan Kesler and the red-hot Jakob Silfverberg has been an almost equally favorable situation in the playoffs.

Ducks' Beleskey Scores GWG In Game 4

News: Matt Beleskey scored for the fourth straight game Friday, netting the game-winning goal in Game 4 against the Flames.
Analysis: What a series this man is having. Matt Beleskey has scored in every game of the second round and has fired 11 shots on goal in that span. Skating on the second line with Ryan Kesler, the 26-year-old has notched two-game-winning goals and is contributing on the power play. If the Ducks can continue to get production from guys not named Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, the Stanley Cup Final isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Ducks' Beleskey Scores GWG In Game 2

News: Matt Beleskey scored the game-winning goal in Game 2 against Calgary.
Analysis: It was an all-around productive night for Matt Beleskey, who also finished with four hits and five shots on goal. While he's no longer playing on the top line, the 26-year-old is skating on the second line with Ryan Kesler and has scored in back-to-back games. Considering he's seeing power play time and potted 22 goals in the regular season, it's fair to assume Beleskey might find twine a few more times this postseason. With seven shots on goal in Round 2 thus far, things appear to be trending upwards for Beleskey.

Ducks' Beleskey Nets Goal In Game 1

News: Matt Beleskey notched a goal in Thursday's Game 1 win over the Flames.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey kicked off the scoring for Anaheim midway through the first period, when Kyle Palmieri fielded a carom off the boards and dished it out to the winger, who buried the puck past a helpless Jonas Hiller. It's the first goal and point in six games for Beleskey, who finished the regular season third on the Ducks with 22 markers. Many of those tallies came when he was a member of the top line next to Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, but with Patrick Maroon since replacing him, Beleskey's fantasy value appears to be on the decline.

Ducks' Beleskey Likely Back In Wednesday

News: Matt Beleskey (lower body) is likely back in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Stars.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey missed the last three games with the injury, but was skating on the Ducks' second line next to Ryan Kesler and Kyle Palmieri without incident at Wednesday's morning skate. The 26-year-old has been an unheralded, but steady contributor in the Ducks' top-six ranks this season, accruing 22 goals, 32 points, and a plus-15 rating.

Ducks' Beleskey Skates On Top Line At Practice

News: Matt Beleskey (lower body) skated on the top line at Monday's practice, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: It's a promising sign that Matt Beleskey might return to the lineup Wednesday against the Stars, but coach Bruce Boudreau has yet to comment on the matter. There should be a better read on the situation following Wednesday's morning skate.

Ducks' Beleskey (Lower Body) Out Again Friday

News: Matt Beleskey (lower body) will not play in Friday's game against the Avalanche, the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey will miss a third consecutive game, but with the Ducks not playing again until Wednesday against Dallas, this could mark the end of the winger's absence. Jiri Sekac has been skating alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry on the first line.

Ducks' Beleskey To Remain Out Wednesday

News: Matt Beleskey (lower body) will not play Wednesday against the Oilers, Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey wasn't able to return to the ice during the Ducks' morning skate, which will prevent him for suiting up for a second straight game. Jiri Sekac is slated to skate on the top line in Beleskey's absence.

Ducks' Beleskey Dealing With Lower-Body Injury

News: Matt Beleskey continues to nurse a lower-body injury, Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey was a late scratch Sunday after suffering a lower-body injury during warmups, and based on Tuesday's practice lines, it looks like he's a candidate to miss Wednesday's game against the Oilers as well.

Ducks' Beleskey A Late Scratch

News: Matt Beleskey will not play in Sunday's game against the Devils, after suffering a lower-body injury during warmups.
Analysis: With Matt Beleskey scratched at the last second, either Tomas Fleischmann or Emerson Etem will likely join the lineup. The Ducks may have another update after the conclusion of Sunday's game, while their next contest is scheduled for Wednesday against the Oilers.

Ducks' Beleskey Ripples Mesh Tuesday

News: Matt Beleskey scored his 22nd of the season in a loss to Columbus on Tuesday.
Analysis: The marker is Matt Beleskey's first since returning recently from a shoulder injury. He was a healthy scratch Sunday night in New York, so hopefully the goal will keep him in the lineup and give him a boost of confidence moving forward.

Ducks' Beleskey Scratched Sunday

News: Matt Beleskey was a healthy scratch for the Ducks in their loss against the Rangers on Sunday.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey was the latest to join Anaheim's revolving door of scratches, as he was forced to make way for Emerson Etem. Beleskey hasn't recorded a point in four games since returning from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for almost a month, very disappointing considering that he is still currently third on the Ducks with 21 goals.

Ducks' Beleskey Returns To Lineup

News: Matt Beleskey (shoulder) will return to the lineup Friday against the Wild, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey will play for the first time since Feb. 15 and immediately rejoin Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry on the top line. The winger has enjoyed plenty of success playing alongside those two stars this season, as his 21 goals -- including eight of the game-winning variety -- in 56 games would attest. Assuming he ends up sticking in the top-six role, Beleskey would make for a high-quality pickup in most formats if he's available on the waiver wire.

Ducks' Beleskey Likely To Play Friday

News: Coach Bruce Boudreau said Matt Beleskey (shoulder) is likely to play Friday against the Wild, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: The Ducks activated Matt Beleskey from injured reserve in advance of Wednesday's game against the Flames, but the team opted to make him a healthy scratch. It was more than likely just a precautionary move on the team's part to rest him for another day, but if Beleskey is able to participate in Friday's morning skate without incident, he'll likely be cleared to play.

Ducks Activate Beleskey From Injured Reserve

News: Matt Beleskey (shoulder) was removed from injured reserve Wednesday, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey will not play in Wednesday's game, but with him no longer on the injured list, he will have a chance to play in Anaheim's next contest Friday against the Wild.

Ducks' Beleskey To Remain Out Wednesday

News: Matt Beleskey (shoulder) will not play Wednesday against the Flames.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey has been skating with the Ducks in recent days and is traveling with the team on its current road trip, but coach Bruce Boudreau indicated the forward isn't quite ready to play yet. With another day of practice, Beleskey could be cleared to play on the final game of the trip Friday versus the Wild.

Ducks' Beleskey (Shoulder) To Travel With Team

News: Matt Beleskey (shoulder) will travel to Canada for Monday's game in Vancouver and Wednesday's game in Calgary, Lance Pugmire of the LA Times reports.
Analysis: It thus seems that Matt Beleskey has a shot to return during the upcoming three-game road trip, which concludes a bit south of the border with next Friday's game in Minnesota. He won't play in this Friday's game against the Penguins but can be considered day-to-day thereafter.

Ducks' Beleskey Resumes Shooting

News: Matt Beleskey (shoulder) has been able to take shots and one-timers, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey is less than a week removed from his latest timetable of being about a week to 10 days away from a return, so his progress is obviously an encouraging sign. He appears to be on pace to return at some point next week, provided he's able to participate in practice before being activated.

Ducks' Beleskey At Least A Week Away

News: Matt Beleskey (shoulder) is considered about a week to 10 days away from returning from injured reserve, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey resumed skating Friday, but will apparently need several days of practice before team doctors sign off on his activation. Though he's already missed almost two weeks of action, Beleskey still ranks second on the team in goals (21), trailing only Corey Perry (24).

Ducks' Beleskey Hoping To Skate By Week's End

News: Matt Beleskey (shoulder) hopes to be back on the ice by the end of the week, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey was projected to miss 2-to-4 weeks after suffering the injury Feb. 15, so he's rapidly closing in on the short end of that timetable. Since Beleskey probably won't resume skating until the weekend and will need to practice with the team at least a couple of times, don't expect him back until next week at the earliest.

Ducks' Beleskey Out 2-To-4 Weeks

News: The Ducks announced Tuesday that Matt Beleskey (upper body) would be sidelined for 2-to-4 weeks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Ducks' leading goal scorer after Corey Perry, Matt Beleskey's absence will create a sizable void in the team's top six through the end of February. It's not immediately clear who will step in to fill Beleskey's void, but candidates could include Devante Smith-Pelly, Jakob Silfverberg, and Andrew Cogliano, all of whom have previously received looks on scoring lines this season.

Ducks Place Beleskey On IR

News: Matt Beleskey (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Analysis: With Matt Beleskey staring at a 2-to-4-week absence, the Ducks moved quickly to stash him on IR and fill his roster spot. Emerson Etem was recalled from AHL Norfolk in a corresponding move.

Ducks' Beleskey Suffers Upper Body Injury

News: Matt Beleskey left Sunday's game against the Capitals with an upper body injury.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey was knocked into the boards during the first period, and while he didn't stay down on the ice for long, he quickly skated off to the locker room. He was unable to return to the contest, finishing with just 3:23 of ice time.

Beleskey's Two Points Lift Ducks

News: Matt Beleskey scored a goal, assisted on the Ducks' other goal and went plus-2 in Thursday's 2-1 win over Carolina.
Analysis: Matt Beleskey had been producing pretty sparsely of late, with just two points over his prior six games, but he's had a nose for the net in big moments this year -- eight of his 21 goals have been game-winners.
