Della Rovere Headed to Peoria

News: Della Rovere has been sent back to Peoria (AHL), Lou Korac of the Alton Telegraph reports.
Analysis: He chipped away over five games on the Blues' fourth line, but didn't play more than the 6:47 he logged in his NHL debut during that span and only contributed for fantasy owners with nine penalty minutes. He'll continue to work on his game with a larger chunk of regular ice time back in the AHL.

Della Rovere Makes Blues' Debut

News: Della Rovere made his debut for St. Louis, getting 6:47 of ice time while skating on the fourth line in the Blues' loss to the Capitals on Wednesday.
Analysis: Della Rovere isn't going to change the Blues' fortunes on offense, but he will give them some energy. He had two hits and no doubt will rack up some penalty minutes in his time in St. Louis.

Blues Call Up Della Rovere

News: Della Rovere was called up by the Blues on Wednesday, Lou Korac of the Alton Telegraph reports.
Analysis: The 20-year-old has shown the ability to contribute offensively and by getting under the skins of opponents, spending some time in the penalty box. With the Blues, he'll likely be a fourth-line contributor until they get a few of their injured forwards back in the lineup. Della Rovere has seven points (3 G, 4 A) and 33 penalty minutes in 20 games with Peoria this season.

Della Rovere Brings Physicality to Blues

News: Della Rovere got into a fight in Sunday's game at the NHL Prospects tournament in Traverse City (Mich.), the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. In all, Della Rovere was whistled for nine minutes in penalties.
Analysis: That's part of Della Rovere's game, being an agitator and mixing it up with the opponent. In four seasons at the junior level, he totaled 479 penalty minutes in 230 games. "I'm just a grinding, hard-working type of guy," Della Rovere said. "I have an offensive side, too, so I can play both sides. But my game is really to be an agitator out there, annoy the other team and be a little disturber. That's really my game, but at the same time, I want to try to produce offense and take care of my own end." Della Rovere, who has 65 goals and 138 points in his juniors career, should open the season with the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL.
