Sens Sign Eckford

News: Tyler Eckford has signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Senators, the team's official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: Tyler Eckford spent last season with with the Coyotes' AHL Portland affiliate, where he recorded 25 points (10G, 15A) and 37 penalty minutes over 75 games. The 10 goals were a career high for the 26-year-old defenseman, who has just seven NHL games under his belt.

Eckford Joins Coyotes

News: The Coyotes have signed Eckford to a one-year (two-way) contract, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Eckford, who spent the bulk of this past season in the minors, played in four games with the Devils. He'll now serve as a depth blueliner for the Coyotes.

News: Eckford was recalled by New Jersey under an emergency situation, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Eckford played a few games last season when regular players were injured, but he's a stopgap while the team ascertains how long Matt Corrente (broken hand) will be out of the lineup.

News: The Devils have called up RW Ilkka Pikkarainen and RW Vladimir Zharkov from the AHL and sent D Tyler Eckford down.
Analysis: None of these guys are particularly high prospects, so continue to ignore them in Fantasy play.

Eckford up, Murphy down for Devils

News: The Devils have called up D Tyler Eckford up from the AHL. To make room, D Cory Murphy was sent down.
Analysis: Eckford, a seventh-round pick from 2007, is off to a great start in his second AHL season with 15 points in 18 games and was named the league's player of the week on Sunday. The 24-year-old isn't much of a prospect, so don't worry about him in Fantasy play just yet. Murphy can also continue to be ignored.

News: The Devils have assigned G Dave Caruso, G Scott Clemmensen, G Jeff Frazee, G Jason Smith, D Matthew Corrente, D Tyler Eckford, D Mark Fraser, D Jay Leach, D Olivier Magnan-Grenier, D Rosario Ruggeri, D Matthew Spiller, F Nicklas Bergfors, F Tyler Burton, F Eric Castonguay, F Kevin Cormier, F Patrick Davis, F Jon DiSalvatore, F Stephen Gionta, F Matt Halischuk, F Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, F Brad Mills, F Benoit Mondou, F Ryan Murphy, F Rod Pelley, F Pascal Rheaume, F Brad Snetsinger, F Michael Swift, F Chad Wiseman and F Vladimir Zharkov to Lowell (AHL).
Analysis: Bergfors, a first-round pick in the 2005 draft, is the only in this list with any real Fantasy value. Keep a hold of him in keeper formats, but ignore everyone else.
