Sabres' Ennis Scores Twice In Loss

News: Tyler Ennis scored twice and had an assist in Sunday's loss to the Red Wings.
Analysis: After going seven straight games without a point, Tyler Ennis now has goals in back-to-back games, giving him 12 goals and 28 points in 47 games on the season. While the Sabres are sitting at the bottom of the standings, the 25-year-old is still on track for a 20-goal, 47-point season. He is producing steadily in almost all categories, notching four power-play goals, 113 shots on goal, and 31 PIM. If you can get past his mimus-14 rating, Ennis is a nifty scorer who can be valuable in deeper formats.

Sabres' Ennis Doubtful For Top Line Spot

News: Tyler Ennis will not be playing with Zemgus Girgensons on the top line Friday, reports WGR 550.
Analysis: Mired in a losing streak and with just one goal in 14 games, Tyler Ennis will find himself on a new line against the Lightning. With Girgensons slated to stay as the team's top center, Ennis will be the one moving down the lineup. Whether this affects his playing time remains to be seen, but Ennis should still be the go-to offensive weapon. Head coach Ted Nolan is mixing things up just to get things going again so the changes may not be permanent. However, Mikhail Grigorenko and Phil Varone are offensively inclined players who may help Ennis find the score sheet again.

Sabres' Ennis Scores In Loss

News: Tyler Ennis scored a goal in Wednesday's game against the Lightning.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis notched his team's only tally, as the Sabres went on to lose 5-1. Despite Buffalo's struggles this season, Ennis has provided a decent amount of value to his fantasy owners, with nine goals and 15 assists in 38 games.

Sabres' Ennis Extends Points Streak

News: With an assist in Monday's 5-4 win over Ottawa, Tyler Ennis has extended his point streak to four games.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis assisted on Matt Moulson's goal to give the Sabres a 2-1 lead in the second period and now has six points in his past four games. The diminutive winger is picking up the scoring pace rapidly. He's a slick playmaker for a bad team, but with the Sabres scoring much more recently, Ennis has spearheaded the attack. He's on pace to set a new career high in points.

Ennis' Three Assists Powers Sabres To Win

News: Tyler Ennis notched three assists in Thursday's 4-3 win over Calgary.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis assisted on the Sabres' first, game-tying and game-winning goal as the first line dominated the game. He was too small to play center and Matt Moulson is better on the left side, but Ennis seems to have found a home on the right wing. The top line combined for seven points. Ennis now has 20 points in 29 games this season and is back on pace to set a new career-high. The Sabres are maturing as a group with Ennis at the forefront. He's now a viable pickup for teams looking for some scoring depth, though the peripherals still won't be pretty.

Ennis Makes Difference As Sabres Down Kings

News: Tyler Ennis provided all the game's scoring with a power-play goal in the third period of Tuesday's 1-0 win over Los Angeles.
Analysis: That's quite the excellent way for Tyler Ennis to prevent his scoreless streak from extending to four games. His production's been inconsistent, but his 17 points in 28 games are the best the Sabres have to offer.

Sabres' Ennis Scores Highlight-Reel Goal In Win

News: Tyler Ennis scored a highlight-reel goal and added an assist in Friday's win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: It really was an unbelievable goal from Tyler Ennis, who scored on the backhand while falling down. Ennis is now up to 15 points (seven goals) in 23 games this season, putting him on pace for the first 50-point campaign of his NHL career.

Friday's Game Postponed For Sabres, Ennis

News: Tyler Ennis and the Sabres had their scheduled game Friday against the Rangers postponed due to the extreme weather conditions in the Buffalo area, Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Though the Sabres were able to complete Tuesday's game against the Sharks when the snowstorm wasn't at its worst, some parts of the region have now received up to six feet of snow, making travel unsafe and extremely difficult. No make-up date has been announced yet for the game, but appears the Sabres remain on track to head to Washington for Saturday's game.

Buffalo's Ennis: Three-Game, Five-Point Streak

News: Tyler Ennis scored a goal and added two assists in Saturday's win over the Maple Leafs. The points extend his point streak to three games and five points, including two goals, both of which came on the power play.
Analysis: He got off to an abysmal start to the season but has found his legs, contributing nine points in his last nine games. He had just two points in his first 10 games. He can provide you with solid secondary scoring in deep leagues, but beware that plus-minus. It'll hang like an anchor on your team.

Sabres' Ennis Does Not Practice Thursday

News: Tyler Ennis did not take part in Friday's practice, Bill Hoppe of the Times Herald reports.
Analysis: The reason for Tyler Ennis' absence was not provided, so it remains to be seen if his availability for the Sabres' next game Saturday is in question.

Ennis Lone Bright Spot For Sabres In Blowout Loss

News: Tyler Ennis scored the only goal for the Sabres, put five shots on net and collected five PIM for fighting in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the Blues.
Analysis: Despite the rout, Tyler Ennis at least broke even in this game, thus not worsening his minus-11 rating for the season. The goal was his first in six November games.

Sabres' Ennis Will Not Be Suspended

News: Tyler Ennis, who received a misconduct after hitting linesman Derek Nansen on the hand with his stick Friday, will not receive any further discipline, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: It was an odd incident, to say the least, but it wasn't like Tyler Ennis was swinging his stick in rage at the official, he was apparently trying to get his attention over some matter and the stick just hit the wrong spot. Ennis sits second on the Sabres with seven points, sad as that may sound, and he'll be in the lineup Saturday when the team faces the Penguins.

Sabres' Ennis Chips In Two Points

News: Tyler Ennis picked up a power-play assist on the Sabres' first goal and scored the second himself, but it wasn't enough in a shootout loss to the Bruins on Thursday.
Analysis: The helper was actually his first of the season, and his first power-play point as well. Tyler Ennis's offensive game has only appeared in fits and starts so far, but he's seeing premium ice time, so he'll have every opportunity to put up more points.

Ennis Bags Lone Sabres' Goal In Loss

News: Tyler Ennis scored the lone Sabres' goal in Monday's blowout loss to Anaheim.
Analysis: Although the Sabres are 0-3-0 to start the season, Tyler Ennis has managed to be valuable in fantasy, netting two goals. The small but effective center will get plenty of opportunities to produce this season, playing on the top line and top power-play unit alongside Matt Moulson. If the 25-year-old Ennis can pot 21 goals and 43 points with the league's worst offensive team in 2013-14, there is no reason he can't produce similar totals with Buffalo again this season.

Sabres' Ennis Scores Two Points

News: Playing on the top line with Matt Moulson and Drew Stafford, Tyler Ennis scored a goal and an assist to lead the Sabres past the Hurricanes 2-0 Tuesday night.
Analysis: Moulson played with Tyler Ennis and Stafford prior to being dealt to Minnesota, so it's not like head coach Ted Nolan suddenly found the magic formula, but it's encouraging for the Sabres to see their top line clicking so early. Ennis re-signed with the Sabres for $23 million over the summer and despite his size, will be deployed as the team's No. 1 center this year. If the line continues to click, Ennis is bound to best last year's 43-point performance.

Sabres, Ennis Agree To Five-Year Pact

News: Tyler Ennis re-signed with the Sabres on a five-year, $23 million extension Thursday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Despite notching a career-high 21 goals during the past season, Tyler Ennis seemed to regress offensively, as his per-game scoring output trailed his production from the injury-plagued 2011-12 and the lockout-shortened 2012-13 campaigns. Ennis' outlook for the upcoming season could look a little more rosier after the team brought back Matt Moulson in free agency to take some pressure off the top-line center, but he'll probably need to become a consistent 60-point scorer for the team to climb out of the Eastern Conference cellar.

Sabres Extend Ennis Five Years

News: The Sabres re-signed Tyler Ennis to a five-year, $23 million contract extension Wednesday, reports NESN.
Analysis: The new extension will carry a cap hit of $4.6 million, nearly double the cap hit of Tyler Ennis' previous contract. The diminutive forward is pencilled in as the team's top center next year and will be the offensive focal point once again. The Sabres aren't expected to compete for a playoff spot, but this puts more pressure on the 24-year-old to produce points on a very young team. The Sabres have a plethora of centers in their prospect pool, but Ennis is the most polished, despite his weaker faceoff abilities. Fantasy-wise, Ennis is still one of Buffalo's more enticing options, but is not the type of player who can contribute in peripheral categories.

Ennis' 21 Goals Lead Sabres

News: Tyler Ennis missed just two games in the 2013-14 season, notching a team-best (and career-high) 21 goals.
Analysis: Despite his size and difficulty with winning faceoffs, Tyler Ennis is expected to be the Sabres' top center next year. The team's first-round pick in the 2008 draft, Ennis has 166 points in 267 career games. He will look to improve from his modest 43-point output this season, but it's tough to ask him to suddenly turn into a point-per-game producer or carry the Sabres' offense.

Sabres' Ennis Logs Assist In Loss

Sabres' Ennis Scores Two In Win

News: Tyler Ennis snapped a three-game scoring drought with two regulation goals against New Jersey on Tuesday in a 3-2 shootout win.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis logged a team-high 23:22 among forwards as the Sabres snapped a four-game losing streak with a win over the Devils. Ennis now has a career-high 21 goals on the season, though still has just 40 points with 19 assists. Going forward, Ennis will be a key part of the Sabres' offense. The slick playmaker doesn't have a lot of size, but he certainly makes up for it in other areas of the game with his scoring prowess. He's one of the few Sabres worth owning in deeper fantasy leagues.

Sabres' Ennis Racks Up PIM Tuesday

News: Tyler Ennis logged 12 minutes in the penalty box in Tuesday's loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: Although the double-digit penalty minutes might have been welcome from fantasy owners looking for production in that category, the Sabres would almost certainly prefer Tyler Ennis to stay out of the penalty box. With Ennis limited to 16:56 of ice time Tuesday, the Sabres were shut out by the Habs for the second time this season. Ennis had actually been picking up his scoring with eight points in his preceding 11 games, so Tuesday's blank slate can probably be written off as an aberration.

Sabres' Ennis: 20 Points In Last 22 Games

News: Tyler Ennis' point streak now stands at four games and four points (two goals, two assists) after he tallied the Sabres' only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Islanders on Saturday night.
Analysis: He's actually been percolating along since mid January and he has 20 points, including 10 goals, in his last 22 games. And remarkably, he's only minus-2 in that span -- not bad considering he's minus-14 on the season. Ride him now. And next season may be his breakout. But we've said that before, haven't we?

Ennis Scores In Sabres' Loss

News: Tyler Ennis scored one of Buffalo's two goals in Thursday's loss to Carolina, opening the game's scoring on a penalty shot. He has a point in each of his last three games.
Analysis: After a season-long search to find the right spot for Tyler Ennis, the Sabres have finally found one for him between Cory Conacher and Drew Stafford. The Sabres' de facto top line and leads the team in minutes played each night, and the trio has collected eight points in their past three games. Ennis is an offensive playmaker and benefits from being in the center of the ice, but his faceoff abilities are still lacking, winning just 17 percent against Carolina. That's something Ennis has to drastically improve if he wants to play center full-time in the NHL.

Sabres' Ennis Lights The Lamp Twice

News: Tyler Ennis potted two goals against the Stars on Monday.

Sabres' Ennis Returns To Lineup

News: Tyler Ennis will return to the lineup Monday against Dallas.
Analysis: After missing two games with general soreness after taking a hard hit against Boston, Tyler Ennis will return to the lineup against Dallas. The diminutive winger has 14 goals and 30 points in 58 games this season, and is one of the Sabres' key offensive players. Unfortunately, with many of the team's veterans expected to be traded, Ennis won't get much help. He has been arguably the most valuable fantasy player on the Sabres this season, but that doesn't say very much for the league's worst team.
