Two-Point Night For Sabres' Ennis

News: Tyler Ennis registered an assist and the game-winning goal in Monday's 4-3 triumph over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: It seemed highly improbable that Tyler Ennis's goal would hold up as the game-winner after his tally gave the team a 4-0 lead, but nothing ever seems to come easy for the Sabres, who nearly squandered the sizable advantage. With 20 goals and 45 points on the campaign, Ennis has delivered production similar to a year ago, but he's still miscast as a leading scorer for the team. He may finally have some support in 2015-16, when either of the two franchise center prospects in the upcoming draft, Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel, are expected to land in Buffalo.

Sabres' Ennis Returning Wednesday

News: Tyler Ennis (upper body) will return to the Sabres' lineup Wednesday against the Maple Leafs, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: After missing the Sabres' last two contests with the injury, Tyler Ennis slotted back in on the top line during Wednesday's morning skate, suggesting that he's healthy and ready to play. The league-worst Sabres don't have many players on their roster who warrant fantasy interest, but as the team's leading scorer with 19 goals and 42 points, Ennis is about the most intriguing of the lot.

Sabres' Ennis Could Play Wednesday

News: Coach Ted Nolan hopes that Tyler Ennis (upper body) will be ready to play Wednesday against the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis will thus miss Monday's game against the Coyotes, which sets the stage for the Sabres to roll out a top line of Matt Moulson, Johan Larsson and Brian Gionta to start the contest.

Sabres' Ennis Doubtful For Monday

News: Tyler Ennis did some puckhandling drills at the tail end of practice and it doesn't look like he'll play Monday, reports John Vogl of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: It looks like Tyler Ennis (upper body) will miss his second straight game after missing Saturday's game against Colorado. The Sabres offense will take a hit with Ennis' absence and Brian Gionta is expected to take his place on the top line. Ennis considered day-to-day.

Sabres' Ennis Iffy For Monday

News: Tyler Ennis (upper body) took the ice on Sunday.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis missed Saturday's game against the Avs, with his status for Monday's contest against the Coyotes still up in the air. "I'm feeling better each day," Ennis noted Sunday. "We'll see what tomorrow brings. I just wanted to get out there, feel the ice, skate around, work on some skills."

Sabres' Ennis Out Saturday, But Could Play Monday

News: Tyler Ennis (upper body) will travel with the Sabres on their two-game road trip, but won't play Saturday against the Avalanche.
Analysis: With a goal and a power-play assist, Tyler Ennis was perhaps the Sabres' brightest star in Thursday's loss to the Coyotes in Tankapalooza 2015, but was ultimately forced out of the contest in the third period due to the injury. It doesn't sound like the ailment is too significant for Ennis, but he'll need at least one game off to recover. Though Ennis could be ready to go in time for Monday's rematch with the Coyotes in Arizona, Tim Schaller will fill his spot in Saturday's contest.

Sabres' Ennis Leaves With Upper-Body Injury

News: Tyler Ennis left Thursday's game against the Coyotes with an upper-body injury and will not return.
Analysis: The nature of Tyler Ennis's injury is unclear at this point, but he'll miss at least the remainder of Thursday's contest, in which he collected a goal and an assist before departing. He should have an updated status at some point prior to the team's next game Saturday against the Avalanche.

Sabres' Ennis Frustrated After Blowing Lead

News: Tyler Ennis notched an assist in Monday's 4-3 loss, to Dallas but voiced his displeasure with the team to the media after the Sabres blew the lead three separate times, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: "I thought we had it and we deserved it," said Tyler Ennis after the game. The Sabres took a 2-1 lead into the third period and had taken only four fewer shots than the Stars, but fell apart in the third period, conceding three goals on 12 shots. The Sabres have had a disappointing season so far and blowing leads as they did Monday doesn't really come as a surprise. Hopefully, though, this frustration will push Ennis harder for the final nine games of the season, giving poolies a little more of an offensive boost. If there's any Sabre worth owning, it's probably Ennis.

Sabres' Ennis (Illness) Will Play Monday

News: Tyler Ennis (illness) is on the ice for Monday's pregame warmups against the Stars and is expected to play as a result, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis was dealing with flu-like symptoms ahead of Monday's game but apparently will push through whatever discomfort is bothering him. Despite the illness, he should be deployed as usual Monday.

Sabres' Ennis Under The Weather

News: Tyler Ennis -- who did not participate in Monday's morning skate -- is dealing with with flu-like symptoms.
Analysis: That said, coach Ted Nolan still hopes that Tyler Ennis will be ready for Monday night's game against the Stars, though a decision on the forward's status may not arrive until pre-game warmups.

Sabres' Ennis Absent From Practice

News: Tyler Ennis did not participate in Monday's morning skate.
Analysis: There are no reports that Tyler Ennis is injured, so it's likely a maintenance day for the Sabres' top forward. Unless noted otherwise, he'll play Monday against Dallas on the top line with Matt Moulson and Johan Larsson. Ennis has 39 points in 70 games this season and has two points in his past four games. He's getting plenty of ice time and he's a good bet to log some points against Dallas, but he should be only an option for the desperate.

Sabres' Ennis Scores In Losing Effort

News: Tyler Ennis scored a goal but the Sabres fell to the Capitals in a shootout Monday.
Analysis: Buffalo's top line was clicking again as Tyler Ennis and Johan Larsson each scored a goal. Ennis now has five points in his past five games and remains the Sabres' best offensive weapon. He's not good enough to carry the team, however, so depth scorers on stronger teams may end up producing more points than Ennis. He has 38 points in 67 games this season and will likely finish the year as the Sabres' top scorer.

Sabres' Ennis Adds Three Points Wednesday

News: Tyler Ennis collected a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis now has 17 goals and 20 assists through 65 games on the year, and has been a bright spot on an awful Sabres team despite his minus-17 rating. The Sabres' top line combined for nine points and if the trio continues to establish some chemistry Ennis could finish the season on a strong note. If poolies have to have a Sabres forward on their roster, Ennis is still the best bet.

Sabres' Ennis (Groin) To Return Tuesday

News: Tyler Ennis (groin) will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Lightning, WGR 550 AM reports.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis returned to practice Monday after missing each of the last two contests due to the groin issue. It appears the injury has healed, and he will rejoin the lineup. Ennis posted just three goals in 11 games in February, but will look to increase that frequency as the calendar shifts to March.

Sabres' Ennis Practices Monday

News: Tyler Ennis (lower body) was a participant in Monday's practice.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis skated on a regular line with Chris Stewart and Nick Foligno, a sign that the Sabres expect to have the forward available for Tuesday's game against the Lightning. The lower-body injury has kept Ennis out for the last two games, but the Sabres never considered it to be anything serious.

Sabres' Ennis Ruled Out For Saturday

News: Tyler Ennis (lower body) will not play Saturday afternoon against the Panthers.
Analysis: Because of the 3:00 p.m. ET start time, the Sabres didn't hold a morning skate, which won't allow the team to get a proper gauge for Tyler Ennis' health heading into the game. Ennis will still be a participant in pregame warmups, but will head to the press box afterward to serve as a scratch for the second straight game. He appears to be firmly in the day-to-day camp with his injury, so there's a decent chance he could be healthy in time for Tuesday's game against the Lightning.

Sabres' Ennis Traveling To Florida With Team

News: Tyler Ennis (lower body) will make the trip to Florida for Saturday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis did not practice Friday and his status is questionable for Saturday's contest against Florida, after missing Thursday's game against Vancouver. If he doesn't make it back Saturday, he will most likely return Tuesday in Tampa Bay. Ennis leads the Sabres with 15 goals and though he's invaluable to the Sabres, his fantasy value isn't very high, especially with linemate Zemgus Girgensons (ankle) out for awhile.

Sabres' Ennis May Miss Just One Game

News: Tyler Ennis (lower body) may miss only one game, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis left Tuesday's game against Columbus in the third period with a lower-body injury and didn't return. He'll miss Thursday's game against Vancouver, but head coach Ted Nolan indicated that might be all the action he will miss. In the meantime, Zac Dalpe and Phil Varone were called up from AHL Rochester as reinforcements with Dalpe playing on the right wing. Ennis should be viewed as a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt with the Panthers until Nolan confirms the forward will return to the lineup.

Injury to Sabres' Ennis Not Serious

News: Tyler Ennis didn't play in the third period on Tuesday against Columbus, but the lower body issue he is dealing with is believed to be short-term, the the Olean Times Herald reports.
Analysis: Head coach Ted Nolan said Tyler Ennis could be out "up to a week," which means the Sabres may not put him on the injured reserve. The injury is "lower-body wear and tear," according to Nolan. Ennis is tied for the team lead with Zemgus Girgensons (ankle) for the team lead with 15 goals and both players are top-line fixtures. The Sabres intend on finishing last to try and get Connor McDavid, so there's no need to rush Ennis or Girgensons' return. Consider Ennis day-to-day, but it is unlikely he'll play against Vancouver on Thursday.

Sabres' Ennis Leaves With Injury

News: Tyler Ennis left Tuesday's win over the Blue Jackets with an undisclosed injury, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. He failed to tally a point in his 10:49 of action.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis left the Buffalo bench in the third period, with no explanation given for his absence. The team should offer more clarity on his condition prior to Thursday's game against the Canucks, so view him as day-to-day for now.

Sabres' Ennis Bags Goal In Loss

News: Tyler Ennis bagged the team's lone goal in both regulation and in the shootout of Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Predators.
Analysis: The goal was the 15th of the year for Tyler Ennis, bringing him up to 33 points in 60 games. Offensive production has been hard to come by in Buffalo this season, but the 25-year-old has been moving along at a consistent pace and could reach the 50-point plateau for the first time in his career.

Sabres' Ennis Pots Goal, Goes Plus-2 In Win

News: Tyler Ennis tallied a power-play goal on his only shot attempt of the night in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Stars.
Analysis: The goal, Tyler Ennis's 13th of the season, came on a backhanded setup by Chris Stewart, who assisted on all three Buffalo scores. It was the 25-year-old's first goal in five games. He also finished with a positive plus-minus for the first time in four games, going plus-2.

Sabres' Ennis Scores Twice In Loss

News: Tyler Ennis scored twice and had an assist in Sunday's loss to the Red Wings.
Analysis: After going seven straight games without a point, Tyler Ennis now has goals in back-to-back games, giving him 12 goals and 28 points in 47 games on the season. While the Sabres are sitting at the bottom of the standings, the 25-year-old is still on track for a 20-goal, 47-point season. He is producing steadily in almost all categories, notching four power-play goals, 113 shots on goal, and 31 PIM. If you can get past his mimus-14 rating, Ennis is a nifty scorer who can be valuable in deeper formats.

Sabres' Ennis Doubtful For Top Line Spot

News: Tyler Ennis will not be playing with Zemgus Girgensons on the top line Friday, reports WGR 550.
Analysis: Mired in a losing streak and with just one goal in 14 games, Tyler Ennis will find himself on a new line against the Lightning. With Girgensons slated to stay as the team's top center, Ennis will be the one moving down the lineup. Whether this affects his playing time remains to be seen, but Ennis should still be the go-to offensive weapon. Head coach Ted Nolan is mixing things up just to get things going again so the changes may not be permanent. However, Mikhail Grigorenko and Phil Varone are offensively inclined players who may help Ennis find the score sheet again.

Sabres' Ennis Scores In Loss

News: Tyler Ennis scored a goal in Wednesday's game against the Lightning.
Analysis: Tyler Ennis notched his team's only tally, as the Sabres went on to lose 5-1. Despite Buffalo's struggles this season, Ennis has provided a decent amount of value to his fantasy owners, with nine goals and 15 assists in 38 games.
