Jets Sign Hutchinson

News: Michael Hutchinson has signed a two-year deal worth $1.15 million with the Jets, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: With Al Montoya having signed with the Panthers, Michael Hutchinson will have an opportunity to compete for the team's backup goaltending job behind Ondrej Pavelec.

Jets' Hutchinson Returned To AHL

News: Michael Hutchinson was assigned to AHL St. John's on Saturday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: With the season completed, the Jets returned Michael Hutchinson, defensemen Zach Redmond and Ben Chiarot, and forwards Eric O'Dell, Patrice Cormier, and Carl Klingberg to the St John's Ice Caps. Hutchinson had a strong cameo with the Jets to end the season, winning two out of three games and allowing just five goals on 88 shots (.943 save percentage). Ondrej Pavelec is still the Jets' likely top goaltender for next season, but Hutchinson made a compelling case to be the No. 2.

Jets' Hutchinson Outduels Flames

News: Michael Hutchinson stopped 35 of 38 shots in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames.
Analysis: The Jets may not have had anything to play for in their season finale, but Michael Hutchinson has played very much like a man with something to prove while starting the final three games. He won two of those three starts and posted save percentages above .920 on each occasion.

Jets Will Start Hutchinson On Friday

News: Michael Hutchinson will get the start in goal Friday against the Flames, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: After a dominant performance against the league-best Bruins on Thursday, Michael Hutchinson will earn his third straight start in the Jets' season finale. Though he's been impressive in his first taste of NHL action, Ondrej Pavelec will still probably be the team's No. 1 starter during the 2014-15 campaign.

Jets' Hutchinson Beats Bruins In Shootout

News: Michael Hutchinson stopped 32 of 33 through 65 minutes, then came away with a win in the shootout Thursday against Boston.
Analysis: He's already been all but confirmed as the starter Friday against miserable Calgary, and after one-goal performances in each of his first two NHL starts, fantasy owners can feel some degree of comfort rolling Hutch out there for the Jets' season finale.

Jets' Hutchinson Likely Starting Friday

News: Michael Hutchinson will likely make a third consecutive start Friday against the Flames, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Why not? Michael Hutchinson performed admirably in the first two starts of his career, losing 1-0 to the Wild on Monday, then beating the Bruins 2-1 in a shootout on Thursday. Having allowed just two goals on 50 shots, he'll likely mind the net again come Friday's regular-season finale.

Jets Stick With Hutchinson On Thursday

News: Michael Hutchinson will be in the net Thursday against the Bruins, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson was solid in his first NHL start, stopping 16 of 17 shots in a loss to the Wild. The performance was good enough for coach Paul Maurice to give him another turn. While his future looks bright, Hutchinson may be a bit overmatched against the Bruins, who have been scoring at will against opponents since the Olympic break.

Jets' Hutchinson To See More Action This Season

News: Michael Hutchinson will start at least one and possibly both of the Jets' remaining regular-season games, reports Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun.
Analysis: Head coach Paul Maurice liked what he saw from the rookie tender against Minnesota on Monday. With the Jets out of playoff contention, don't be surprised if Ondrej Pavelec doesn't play again this year.

Jets' Hutchinson Lets In One In Loss

News: Michael Hutchinson made 16 saves on 17 shots in a loss to the Wild on Monday.
Analysis: This was Michael Hutchinson's NHL debut, and he got a rough deal in getting this loss dealt to him. It remains to be seen how many more times, if any, he starts this season.

Jets' Hutchinson To Make NHL Debut Monday

News: Michael Hutchinson will start his first career NHL game on Monday against the Minnesota Wild, according to TSN's Darrin Bauming.
Analysis: With the Jets mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, it's no surprise coach Paul Maurice is evaluating younger players at this point and giving Michael Hutchinson a look. Fantasy owners of Ondrej Pavelec should take note.

Jets Recall Hutchinson On Sunday

News: Michael Hutchinson was called up from AHL St. John's on Sunday, Scott Brown of True North Sports reports.
Analysis: With the season coming to a close soon, the Jets want to give Michael Hutchinson a longer look to determine what they're long-term plans are in the crease. With Al Montoya and Ondrej Pavelec already on the roster, the team may have to make some tough decisions soon.

Jets Recall Hutchinson

News: The Jets recalled Michael Hutchinson from AHL St. John's on Saturday.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson posted a 2.33 GAA and .923 save percentage in 22 games with St. John's this season. He will provide some goaltender depth for the Jets with Ondrej Pavelec listed as day-to-day with a lower body injury.

Jets Sign Hutchinson

News: Michael Hutchinson signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Jets on Friday, the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson has bounced around in the AHL the past few seasons. Last year, with AHL Providence, he went 13-13-3 with a 2.30 GAA and a .914 save percentage. He will provide goalie depth in the minor leagues for the Jets.

Hutchinson Not Tendered By Bruins

News: Michael Hutchinson did not receive a contract tender from the Bruins, the Boston Globe's Fluto Shinzawa reports.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson, a 2008 third-rounder, backed up Niklas Svedberg this past season at AHL Providence, recording a 2.30 GAA and .914 save percentage in 30 games. He'll now look to catch on with another organization as a depth goalkeeper.

Boston Recalls Hutchinson

News: Boston recalled Michael Hutchinson on Saturday, BostonBruins.com reports.

Bruins make cuts from camp

News: The Boston Globe reports that the Bruins trimmed their training camp roster significantly on Sunday. G Adam Courchaine, G Matt Dalton, RW Jordan Knackstedt, LW Matt Marquardt, D Scott Fletcher and D Rob Kwiet were returned to the AHL. D Alain Goulet and LW Lane MacDermid, both of whom remain unsigned draft picks, for now will skate solely with the AHL roster. Finally, D Ryan Button, RW Jordan Caron, G Michael Hutchinson, and RW Tyler Randell, were returned to their junior clubs.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value at this time, so continue to ignore them in all formats.
