Flames sign '08 first-rounder Nemisz

News: The Flames signed 2008 first-round pick Greg Nemisz to an entry-level contract Tuesday. "It's an exciting time and it is step in the right direction," Nemisz said. The 19-year-old defenseman helped Winsdor (OHL) win the Memorial Cup last season by totaling 36 goals and 77 points in 65 games. "First and foremost I want to be a Calgary Flames," he said. "But I have to be real to myself. I have a lot of work to do. They are going to have a really strong team this year but I am going to try my hardest to make the team out of camp. But if I don't I want to play World Juniors and we have a good chance of going to the Memorial Cup again next year."
Analysis: Nemisz has all the makings to be a solid NHL power forward in the future. He plays well in front of the net and has soft hands. However, he does need to improve his skating before Calgary brings him up. Nemisz is a solid long-term Fantasy keeper, but that's about it at this time.
