Stars' Sceviour Scores Eighth Goal

News: Colton Sceviour scored his eighth goal of the season and had an assist in Saturday's loss to Nashville.
Analysis: The two points snapped a seven-game scoring drought for Colton Sceviour, who now has 25 points in 68 games. The 25-year-old doesn't hold much fantasy value right now playing on the fourth line, but he's put up strong numbers in the AHL and is a good depth scorer for a offensively talented Stars team.

Stars' Sceviour Adds Assist In Win

News: Colton Sceviour posted an assist, a shot, and two penalty minutes in Tuesday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: That gives Colton Sceviour points in back-to-back games, for a total of three assists in his last two games. He's already set a career-high in assists this season, but he hasn't been able to pass his career-high of eight goals last season, which he hit in just 26 games. He's played 58 games this season.

Stars' Sceviour Notches Two Assists In Loss

News: Colton Sceviour notched two assists in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour finished February with just one point and last scored a goal on Jan. 29. While he's shown some promise when placed on a scoring line in the past, his current standing in the Stars' bottom six -- along with the low minutes totals that come with it -- will inhibit his chances at picking up points with regularity.

Stars' Sceviour Gets Goal, Assist In Win

News: Colton Sceviour recorded a goal and assist in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Though Patrick Eaves has since displaced him on the Tyler Seguin-Jamie Benn line, Colton Sceviour may warrant another look after Tuesday's performance. He notched the goal on a deflected shot by fellow fourth-liner Vernon Fiddler, then picked up the secondary helper as a member of the Stars' No. 2 power-play unit. Sceviour accomplished all of that in less than nine minutes of ice time, which should allow him to maintain his spot in the lineup a little while longer, even if it doesn't result in a promotion.

Stars' Sceviour Has Points In Two Straight

News: Colton Sceviour had an assist and a plus-1 rating in a win over the Senators on Tuesday.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour also played just 10:01 in the game. He's had his ice time limited in the two games since being a healthy scratch, but he has a goal and an assist in those two games. While his ice time is being limited, he's trending in the right direction.

Sceviour Scores In Return For Stars

News: Colton Sceviour had a goal and five shots in very limited ice time during Saturday's loss to Colorado.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour was made a healthy scratch on Thursday, so bouncing back to score a goal and get five shots on net while only seeing 11:31 of ice time was the kind of response the coaching staff was looking for. Sceviour isn't guaranteed to get a top role back or top minutes, but it's good first step toward that. However, as long as Brett Ritchie is playing well, it seems unlikely that Sceviour will find himself on the top line again, which hinders his fantasy value.

Stars' Sceviour To Sit Thursday

News: Colton Sceviour is expected to serve as a healthy scratch Thursday against the Predators.
Analysis: He'll go from the top line to the press box, as Brett Ritchie gets the opportunity to skate alongside Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. After tallying four points over a four-game span, Colton Sceviour likely fell out of favor after two blank sheets in the Stars' last two contests, during which he totaled only a pair of shot attempts.

Stars' Scevious Continues Hot Streak

News: Colton Sceviour scored, was a plus-1, and got into a fight in Saturday's win over the Wild.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour has two goals and two assists over the last four games. He's slowly moving toward being the player that the biggest Sceviour proponents thought he'd be.

Dallas' Sceviour Getting On Track

News: Colton Sceviour extended his point streak with a goal in Wednesday's win over Arizona.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour is on a three game point streak, over which he has a goal, two assists, seven shots, and two penalty minutes. He's starting to move toward the player many thought he'd be in his second year. He's scoring at a slower pace than he did in limited time last year, but he could be on his way to righting the ship.

Sceviour Improving For Dallas

News: Colton Sceviour had an assist and three shots in Monday's win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour has had a tough time picking up where he left off last year, but is showing signs of improvement of late, as he's been placed on the top line with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. So long as he remains attached to that dominant duo, he'll stand to benefit from the halo effect.

Stars' Sceviour Scores Again

News: Colton Sceviour grabbed his second goal of the year in a win over Vancouver on Wednesday.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour had a big impact in limited time last year, scoring eight goals and four assists in 26 games, but 25 games this season have yielded just two goals and four assists. However, those two goals came in the last five games, so he may be finding his touch again.

First Goal For Stars' Sceviour

News: Colton Sceviour found twine for the first time in 21 games this season Thursday, a first-period tally in a 5-2 loss to the Wings.
Analysis: At the time, his goal tied the game 1-1, just 15 seconds after Darren Helm opened the scoring for Detroit. He was a healthy scratch Tuesday, but skated nearly 15 minutes in his return to the ice.

Stars' Sceviour Playing Friday

News: Colton Sceviour (illness) is now officially in the Stars' lineup for their Friday night matchup against the Wild, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour missed Friday's morning skate because he was feeling under the weather, but it appears as though the illness wasn't serious enough to keep him out of Friday's game. He'll likely assume a bottom-six role for the Stars.

Stars' Sceviour Feeling Ill

News: Colton Sceviour missed Friday's morning skate with an illness and is uncertain to play against the Wild, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Since the Stars had no extra forwards available to play, Curtis McKenzie was recalled from AHL Texas in the event Colton Sceviour can't play Friday. The team will reassess his condition in the afternoon before deciding whether or not to rule him out of the contest.

Sceviour Struggling To Find Touch For Dallas

News: Colton Sceviour extended his point slump to six games in Saturday's loss to San Jose.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour, who grabbed eight goals and four assists through 26 games last season -- plus three points in six playoff games, has failed to find his scoring touch this season. 13 games in and he's sitting on a six-game slump and has yet to score a goal.

Stars' Sceviour Likely A Healthy Scratch Saturday

News: Colton Sceviour looks like he'll be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Flyers, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour has been holding down a top-line role the last couple of games while Valeri Nichushkin (groin) remains out, but coach Lindy Ruff will look to rearrange some things Saturday. The 25-year-old could still earn his way back to the Jamie Benn-Tyler Seguin line at some point, though Patrick Eaves will get a trial there on Saturday.

Stars' Sceviour Gets First Point Of Season

News: Colton Sceviour grabbed an assist, three shots and a plus-3 rating over 16:52 in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour made his debut on the top line Tuesday with Valeri Nichushkin (groin) out for a week. Playing with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin certainly gave Sceviour's numbers a good bump. That should continue as long as he gets first-line minutes, but he has no guarantees, so he'll need to keep playing well

Stars' Sceviour To Play On Top Line Tuesday

News: Colton Sceviour will serve as the Stars' top-line right wing Tuesday against the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: With Valeri Nichushkin (groin/hip) unavailable for the game, Colton Sceviour will ride shotgun with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin for the night, perhaps making him an enviable player to own in daily formats. Nichushkin's injury is not considered a long-term concern at this time, however, so Sceviour could notice a steady decline in his ice time after Tuesday.

Stars' Sceviour To Play On Third Line Tuesday

News: Colton Sceviour (shoulder) will see time at right wing in Tuesday's preseason game against the Lighting, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour dealt with a shoulder issue as recently as last week, but his availability Tuesday suggests it's no longer concern. It's not certain where Sceviour fits into the Stars' forward mix this season, but he could end up forming a fourth-line trio with the two players he'll skate with Tuesday, left wing Shawn Horcoff and center Vernon Fiddler.

Stars Being Careful With Sceviour

News: The Stars are using Colton Sceviour judiciously in training camp while he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour has still been participating in most of the Stars' practices in a limited capacity, but he should begin ramping up his activity early next week. The Stars are still looking for a left wing to flank Jason Spezza on the second line, and Sceviour could be one of the top candidates for the role. The 25-year-old tallied 63 points over 54 games for AHL Texas, and played effectively in his 26 games with the big club, registering eight goals and four assists.

Sceviour Adds Point In Stars' Win

News: Colton Sceviour had an assist and a pair of shots in Monday's Game 3 win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour played only two total NHL games prior to his call ups this season. He's tallied eight goals and four assists through 26 regular-season games as well as a goal and two assists through three playoff games this year. Sceviour's carving out a role for himself and making a difference.

Stars' Sceviour Opens Playoffs With Two Points

News: Colton Sceviour had a goal and an assist in Wednesday's Game 1 loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour played an integral role in the Stars' near-comeback, as he scored the second of three unanswered goals to turn a 4-0 Ducks lead into a 4-3 advantage. Though Dallas ultimately fell short, it was a very impressive postseason debut for Sceviour.

Stars' Sceviour Scores On Power Play Sunday

News: Colton Sceviour had a power-play goal in Sunday's win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: Although his scoring has dried up a bit since his initial promotion to the big club this season, he's at least been a consistent shooter of late. He's logged three shot attempts in three straight games, making him a fairly reliable offensive contributor as far as depth forwards go.

First Career Multi-Goal Game For Stars' Sceviour

News: Colton Sceviour had two goals early in Saturday's win over St. Louis.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour is playing a key role despite limited ice time recently. He's got three goals and an assist in the last two games. His upside is limited by his role and ice time, but he's playing strong right now.

Dallas' Sceviour Nets Two More

News: Colton Sceviour's hot streak continued Saturday in St. Louis with a pair of goals in Dallas' 4-2 win.
Analysis: The second goal in particular was fluky, as a puck sent toward the net went in off Colton Sceviour's skate, but he's shown a willingness to go to the tough areas and has racked up goals as a result. Alex Chiasson got off to a similar start last year and has dried up since, but Sceviour is producing at the right time as Dallas tries to run down the Coyotes.
