Jets' Postma Sets Up Two Goals In Win

News: Paul Postma picked up a pair of assists in Saturday's preseason win over Calgary.
Analysis: Paul Postma struck on a first-period power play, blasting a rocket from the point that was redirected by Blake Wheeler past Flames goalie Jonas Hiller. Even though it was only his first game of the preseason, Postma was very impressive, recording a plus-2 rating in 20:30 of ice time. The 25-year-old blueliner is expected to slot in on the Jets' third defensive pairing in 2014-15. He has never surpassed nine points in a season, but that's likely due to the fact he has never played more than 34 games. Postma's play on the power play Saturday makes it very possible that we could see him on one of the team's man-advantage units this season.

Jets' Postma Banged Up

News: Paul Postma is dealing with an undisclosed injury, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: He was held out of Monday's exhibition against the Oilers and is considered day-to-day. Paul Postma is expected to be a regular on the Jets' defense, likely as a third-pairing skater.

Jets' Postma Gets First Goal

News: Paul Postma scored the game-winning goal in Friday's 5-3 triumph over the Flames.
Analysis: Nothing like waiting until the final game for your first goal of the season, huh? In Paul Postma's defense, he missed nearly three and a half months with a blood clot in his leg, but he's never shown much aptitude as a scorer as it is.

Jets' Postma Picks Up Two Helpers Wednesday

News: Paul Postma registered two assists in Wednesday's win over the Avalanche.
Analysis: Filling in for the injured Zach Bogosian on Wednesday, Paul Postma certainly didn't look out of place despite not having played in a game since Feb. 8. Unfortunately, his stay in the lineup isn't expected to last very long, as coach Paul Maurice said after the game that he expects Bogosian to be ready to play Saturday against the Hurricanes.

Jets Recall, Activate Postma

News: The Jets have recalled Paul Postma (leg) from AHL St. John's on Friday and activated him from injured reserve.
Analysis: Paul Postma was assigned to St. John's on a conditioning assignment in late January, and he is ready to return to the NHL after playing in four AHL games. Postma, who appeared in eight games with the Jets earlier this season, will add to the team's blue line depth.

Jets Send Postma On Conditioning Assignment

News: Paul Postma (blood clot in leg) was assigned Wednesday to AHL St. John's on a conditioning assignment.
Analysis: The 24-year-old has appeared in just eight games for the Jets this season before a blood clot in late October sidelined him for the next three months. He'll be given some time to get back up to speed in the minors, where he can stay for up to two weeks before the Jets would have to decide whether or not to activate him from IR.

Jets' Postma Taking Contact

News: Paul Postma (leg) shed his no-contact jersey for Monday's practice, reports CBC's Jeff Hamilton.
Analysis: It's good to see Paul Postma back to practicing in full, but there's no clarity on whether he'll be available for the Jets on Tuesday. Either way, though, he's getting close to a return.

Jets' Postma Ready For Contact

News: Paul Postma (leg) will be ready for contact either Sunday or Monday, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Paul Postma has been out since Oct. 26 because of a blood clot in his leg. He said that he actually felt fine for the last two months but had to await clearance while he was taking blood thinners. After such a long absence, Postma will likely need to work his way back into game shape, so he may not be able to return this week.

Jets' Postma Practices Wednesday

News: Paul Postma (leg) was back at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Paul Postma was wearing a non-contact jersey while rejoining his team on the ice, so it still seems as though he'll need additional time to recover from the injury. He could be cleared for full-contact work by the end of the weekend if things progress well.

Jets' Postma Close To Practicing

News: Coach Claude Noel said Paul Postma (leg) is close to practicing with the team, Tim Campbell of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Paul Postma has been able to skate on his own for nearly a month now and is simply awaiting clearance for full-contact duty, after which his return from IR should come quickly. He's been out since Oct. 26 due to a blood clot in his leg.

Jets' Postma Skated Wednesday

News: Paul Postma (blood clot) took part in some light skating at Wednesday's practice, according to TSN's Sara Orlesky.
Analysis: Paul Postma will be reevaluated in mid-January. Blood clots can take months to go away, so there's no telling when he'll return to game action. Though he has offensive potential, Postma's immediate upside is limited by the depth role he'll assume on the Winnipeg blue line upon returning.

Jets' Postma To Receive Further Tests

News: Paul Postma (blood clot in leg) will receive further testing later this month, Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Those tests should determine whether or not Paul Postma is fit to return to on-ice work for the Jets. The defenseman has been sidelined since Oct. 27 with the blood clot.

Jet's Postma (Leg) Out Indefinitely

Analysis: Paul Postma discovered this condition on Sunday, and will be out until a further diagnosis can be made. He will be replaced in the lineup by Adam Pardy for Sunday's contest against the Avalanche.

Jets' Postma Losing Ice Time

News: Paul Postma skated just 14 shifts for 9:51 of ice-time in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Canadiens. He didn't have any shots on net.
Analysis: Paul Postma's ice-time has dwindled this year from 15 minutes per game down to just 11:33, with almost no power play time. His role has been crushed by the addition of rookie Jacob Trouba.

Jets Re-Sign Postma

News: Paul Postma re-signed with the Jets on a two-year contract Thursday, the Winnepeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Paul Postma accrued a modest nine points over 34 games with the Winnipeg, splitting his season roughly evenly between the big club and the AHL. The 24-year-old will look to cement himself as an NHL regular during the 2013-14 season.

Postma Provides Jets' Only Offense Tuesday

News: Paul Postma scored both Winnipeg goals in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: The young defenseman had been held off the board in eight straight and 16 out of 17 coming in, but picked up goals in both of his shots in this one, each time showing great vision and aggressiveness while jumping into the offensive zone. Don't let his meager eight points in 26 games fool you; Paul Postma's got a future as a productive offensive defenseman.

Huge Night For Jets' Postma

News: Paul Postma figured in all three Winnipeg goals during Friday's loss to Tampa Bay, registering a goal and two assists.
Analysis: Paul Postma posted the same stat line as fellow blue liner Tobias Enstrom, almost doubling his season total of two points in one game. Expect Postma to pick up the odd assist, but don't expect many multi-point nights.

Jets' Postma: First Career NHL Point In Loss To Bruins

News: Paul Postma picked up one assist in the Jets' 2-1 shootout loss to the Boston Bruins on Monday night.
Analysis: The helper was Paul Postma's first career NHL point in six NHL games. He's not expected to provide tons of offense this season considering he has only had a small taste of the NHL thus far so consider any of his statistics a bonus in the early going until he gets more comfortable as an NHL regular.

Jets' Postma: Scoreless In Win Over AHL Bears

News: Paul Postma managed one shot on goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over the AHL Hershey Bears.
Analysis: Paul Postma has one goal and one assist in five games this season to go with a minus-3 rating. He posted 44 points in 56 games with the IceCaps last season but has yet to see consistent action in the NHL, appearing in just four career games so far.

Jets' Postma To AHL

News: Paul Postma was one of seven Jets to officially be signed to the team's AHL affiliate according to the Jets' official website.
Analysis: Potsma is one of the most likely minor league players to see some NHL action this year and some added development during the NHL lockout might be just what the doctor ordered in terms of making the jump to the big leagues.

Jets Re-Sign Defenseman Postma

News: Paul Postma agreed to terms on a new contract with the Jets on Friday, the team's official website reports. The deal will pay Postma $550,000 whether or not he cracks the organization's NHL roster in 2012-13.
Analysis: Paul Postma, 23, played in 56 games with the St. John's IceCaps last season, charting 44 points. He's only appeared in four career NHL games and will likely spend most of the 2012-13 season in the minors.

Jets Send Postma To AHL

News: The Jets have returned Paul Postma to AHL St. John's, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: The 22-year-old defenseman has only played in four career NHL games, and is yet to record a point. His call-up last week was to add some depth with Zach Bogosian missing time. With Paul Postma being sent down, Bogosian will likely return for Saturday's contest against the Panthers.

Winnipeg Calls Up Postma
