Lee only needed for one game

News: The Penguins have re-assigned D Chris Lee back to the AHL. Lee was called up Thursday and was a healthy scratch for a loss to the Senators.
Analysis: Lee has yet to play in an NHL game and the 29-year-old is just organizational depth at this time. Continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats.

Penguins cut a bunch Wednesday

News: The Penguins sent D Wade Brookbank, LW Luca Caputi, C Dustin Jeffrey, RW Nick Johnson, RW Konstantin Pushkarev, C Wyatt Smith, LW Eric Tangradi, C Joe Vitale, RW Tim Wallace, D Robert Bortuzzo, D Jonathan D'Aversa, D Chris Lee and G Brad Thiessen to the AHL on Wednesday. First-round draft pick D Simon Despres has been sent to Saint John of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Analysis: Tangradi and Caputi are talented young prospects who had a shot at making the Pens squad, but there just wasn't room for them. They are the only real long-term keepers in this group for the time being, so ignore the others in all formats.

Penguins add Lee to organization

News: The Penguins signed free agent defenseman Chris Lee to a contract Sunday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Analysis: The 28-year-old Lee played the 2008-09 season with Bridgeport of the AHL, as part of the Islanders' organization. He had six goals and 30 points in 66 games. He is merely organizational depth for the Pens and can be ignored Draft Day.

News: The Islanders have assigned G Yann Danis, C Jeremy Colliton, LW Mitch Fritz, RW Tim Jackman, RW Kurtis McLean, LW Trevor Smith and D Chris Lee to Bridgeport (AHL).
Analysis: All of these guys are just organizational depth and should continue to be ignored in all Fantasy leagues.

Lee carted off on stretcher

News: New York Islanders defenseman Chris Lee was carried off the ice on a stretcher in the third period of Monday night's preseason game at Florida. Lee was injured when he was checked into the boards from behind Rostislav Olesz of the Panthers. Olesz was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct on the play.
Analysis: Lee came into the game without a point in two preseason games and was likely ticketed for the AHL after the game. He can still be ignored in Fantasy, but let's hope the injury turns out to be minor.
