Kings' Voynov Will Stand Trial

News: Slava Voynov will stand trial on a felony charge of domestic violence after a judge deemed there to be sufficient evidence to move forward with the case Monday, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Slava Voynov, who is suspended indefinitely, will be arraigned Dec. 29 and appears unlikely to be reinstated until the legal process plays out.

Kings' Voynov Joins Team For Optional Skate

News: Slava Voynov (suspension) joined the Kings on the ice for Tuesday's optional skate, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
Analysis: Slava Voynov had been away from the team since Oct. 20 after he had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. He was later charged with a felony count of corporal injury to spouse and had his first preliminary hearing Monday, which was supposed to bar him from participating in practice with the team, per an authorization from the league office. It's not clear if the NHL has since revised its ruling or if Voynov is openly violating the terms of his suspension, but if it's the ladder, expect the league office to provide comment on the matter.

NHL Docks Kings' Voynov $100K For Practicing

News: Slava Voynov (suspension) was fined $100,000 by the NHL for his impermissible participation in Tuesday's optional skate, Josh Cooper of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Analysis: Under the terms of Slava Voynov's indefinite suspension, the blueliner isn't allowed to participate in any team-related functions or activities, which led the league to come down hard with the fine. He'll still be able to use the Kings' facilities, but won't be permitted to have contact with his teammates until the suspension is lifted.

Kings' Voynov Facing Felony Charge

News: A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday that Slava Voynov has been charged with one felony count of corporal injury to spouse, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports. Voynov's lawyer said he didn't want to provide a comment at this time.
Analysis: After investigating the circumstances surrounding Slava Voynov's Oct. 20 domestic violence arrest, the Redondo Beach Police Department confirmed that Voynov had caused great bodily injury to his wife, who suffered harm to her "eyebrow, cheek and neck," according to the release from the DA office. The police department indicated that their investigation will remain ongoing, but given the felony charge that Voynov is now facing, which would carry a maximum sentence of nine years in prison if he's convicted, it's looking increasingly likely that the blueliner won't suit up for the Kings again this season. Voynov is set to make his first court appearance to contest the charge Dec. 1.

Kings' Voynov Remains In Limbo

News: Slava Voynov figures to remain in limbo until at least a December 1 court appearance, CBC reports. "His legal situation continues to be somewhat uncertain," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said. "We're kind of waiting to see if there are developments there, but there's no certainty there will be before the beginning part of December. We're kind of playing it day by day."
Analysis: Slava Voynov has been suspended without pay since his October 20 arrest, though no charges have been filed yet. The Los Angeles district attorney has until December 1 to file any charges at which point there may begin to be some clarity around his situation going forward.

Agent Of Kings' Voynov Attempting To Reduce Ban

News: Slava Voynov's agent will attempted to have the defenseman's indefinite suspension lifted by the NHL, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Though the Redondo Beach Police Department's investigation into Slava Voynov's October domestic violence arrest remains ongoing, Voynov's agent, Rolland Hedges, noted that a section of the collective bargaining agreement allows players to apply for a hearing with the NHL on legal cases. If Voynov is given the opportunity to appeal to the NHL, he could be allowed to return to the ice until prosecutors reach a conclusion on the case. Voynov has been out of action since Oct. 19, missing a total of seven games thus far.

Nothing New This Week On Case For Kings' Voynov

News: Slava Voynov isn't expected to hear any new information this week on the status of his domestic violence charge, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: A Redondo Beach Police Department spokesman said that the case is still under review by the district attorney's office, with NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly also relaying that Slava Voynov's situation remains unchanged. He'll continue to count against the Kings' salary cap total while he remains under indefinite suspension, though Daly wouldn't close the door on offering the team some financial relief for the unique situation. Voynov's attorney has reiterated that the defenseman committed no crime when he was arrested last week.

Kings' Voynov Could Have Suspension Lifted Soon

News: Slava Voynov's attorney is hopeful that the indefinite suspension could be lifted soon, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Slava Voynov's attorney contends that the criminal case against Voynov has no merit and that the injuries and subsequent investigation were muddied by some language issues on both sides. Voynov figures to miss his first game since the incident when the Kings take on the Sabres on Thursday.

Kings' Voynov Suspended Indefinitely

News: Slava Voynov has been suspended indefinitely by the NHL following his arrest Monday morning on charges of domestic violence, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
Analysis: It's very early in the investigation process right now, but it appears that Slava Voynov could miss significant time in light of the severity of the charges. Considering the mess that the NFL recently got into, expect the NHL to come down hard on Voynov if the accusations turn out to be true.

Kings' Voynov Dishes Out Two In Loss

News: Slava Voynov dished out two assists in Wednesday's shootout loss to the Kings.
Analysis: Slava Voynov's level of production has generally disappointed this season, but he appears to be closing on a high note. He also scored a goal in the team's previous game against the Canucks.

Voynov's Goal Not Enough For Kings

News: Slava Voynov scored his fourth goal of the year in a 2-1 loss at Vancouver on Saturday night. The marker enabled him to reach the 30-point plateau for the first time in his career.
Analysis: Rearguards who can post points are pure gold in most fantasy formats. Slava Voynov is just 24 and will likely further develop his offensive game in the years to come.

Kings' Voynov Consistent Again

News: Slava Voynov has three goals and 19 assists through 59 games at the Olympic break.

Kings' Voynov Assists Twice

News: Slava Voynov notched two assists -- one on an empty-netter -- in Thursday's win over the Blues.
Analysis: Sure, one of them was a cheapie, but Slava Voynov's fantasy owners will take it, as the Russian defenseman had slumped to the tune of one point in his prior eight games.

Points Hard To Come By For Kings' Voynov

News: Slava Voynov has tallied zero goals and one assist over his last eight games.
Analysis: The disappointing campaign continues for Slava Voynov, who has fallen back into a slumber offensively after enjoying a nice stretch of production from mid-November to mid-December. The 24-year-old was expected to take another step in his development this season after supplying 25 points in 48 games in 2012-13, but a dramatic dropoff in his shooting percentage (3.5 percent in 2013-14, down from 7.6 in 2012-13) has prevented that from materializing. Voynov's plus-3 rating is acceptable, but certainly not the difference-making number one might expect from a defenseman playing on a team that owns a 28-14-5 record.

Kings' Voynov Assists In Losing Effort

News: Slava Voynov picked up an assist for the second straight game and went plus-1 in Tuesday's shootout loss to Buffalo.

Kings' Voynov Scores In Second Straight

News: Slava Voynov scored for the second consecutive game Thursday, tallying the Kings' lone regulation goal in a shootout win over Nashville.
Analysis: After no goals in his first six outings, Slava Voynov's turning things on, showing the scoring ability that made him a trendy fantasy pick this year. Assuming he stays healthy, a 40-point season with double-digit goals is certainly within reach for the talented Russian blueliner.

Analysis: The 23-year-old, who notched 25 points in 48 regular season contests, picked up the pace in the playoffs, finishing with six goals and 13 points in 18 games, currently second among blueliners this postseason to Pittsburgh's Kris Letang.

Kings' Voynov Contributes Game-Winner

News: Slava Voynov scored what turned out to be the winning goal in the second period of Tuesday's Game 3 against the Blackhawks. He also had the primary assist on Justin Williams' first-period tally.
Analysis: For his efforts, Slava Voynov was named the first star of the game, and with 11 points now in 16 playoff games, he's tied with Jeff Carter for the team lead in postseason scoring.

Kings' Voynov Assists On Two Game 7 Goals

News: Slava Voynov assisted on both of Justin Williams' goals Tuesday in the second period of Game 7 against the Sharks, which turned out to be all the offense the Kings would need to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Analysis: With seven points in 13 playoff games, Slava Voynov's been a steady contributor. Of course, his postseason scoring output entering Tuesday's action had largely manifested in the form of goals, including three game-winners.

Voynov's Tally Helps Kings Edge Blues

News: Slava Voynov provided the only score of the game in Saturday's 1-0 thriller against St. Louis. His second-period tally gave the Kings a badly needed victory that cut the Blues' series lead to 2-1.
Analysis: It figures that in a tight defensive struggle like this one, the only marker of the night would be posted by a blueliner. But Slava Voynov isn't going to challenge for the playoff scoring title even if the Kings return to the Finals. This was an especially timely goal, not a portent of an offensive explosion.
