Canucks Trade Garrison To Lightning

News: The Canucks traded Jason Garrison and the rights to Jeff Costello to the Lightning on Friday in exchange for the 50th pick in Friday's draft.
Analysis: The Canucks acquired defenseman Luca Sbisa from the Ducks earlier in the day, so they decided to move Jason Garrison to save some money. Expect Garrison to slot into a top-six role with his new squad.

Canucks' Garrison Shining For Canada At Worlds

News: Jason Garrison recorded two assists in Team Canada's 4-1 win over Slovakia at the World Championships on Saturday.
Analysis: Through two preliminary round games, Jason Garrison has been stellar, leading Team Canada with three assists and a plus-3 rating. Garrison is averaging 23:07 of ice time per game, with Canucks teammate Kevin Bieksa being the only other player who has played more. Garrison will look for a strong performance at the Worlds to transition into the upcoming NHL season.

Canucks' Garrison Representing Canada At Worlds

News: Jason Garrison -- who finished the season with 33 points in 81 games -- will be representing Team Canada at the 2014 World Championships in Zurich.
Analysis: Even though his 33 points matched a career high, it was a very inconsistent season for Jason Garrison, who went long stretches without producing. He finished the year with only one assist in his last 13 games, so a stint at the Worlds could help him get back on track. Garrison played alongside Canucks teammate Kevin Bieksa in Canada's first exhibition game -- a 4-0 win over Switzerland on Tuesday.

Canucks' Garrison Tallies Assist In Win

News: Jason Garrison racked up an assist in Sunday's season finale against Calgary. It was his first point in 13 games.
Analysis: Jason Garrison finished the season with seven goals and 33 points in 81 games. His point total matched a career high, but his seven goals were far off the 16 he potted in 2011-12 when he was with Florida. Garrison's minus-5 rating was the worst of his career, while his 3.9 shooting percentage was also the lowest it has ever been. Garrison's main value this season came on the man advantage, where he produced a career-high 15 points while averaging 2:44 of power-play time per game.

Canucks' Garrison Sitting Out Thursday

News: Jason Garrison will sit out Thursday's game against the Avalanche, TSN's Farhan Lalji reports.
Analysis: With the Canucks officially eliminated from playoff contention, the team wants rookie Frank Corrado to play in all three of the Canucks' remaining games. Jason Garrison should get back into the lineup for the next two games, as it was noted that it will be a different Canucks' defenseman sitting out each of the final three games. Garrison has been slumping lately, going 11 straight games without tallying a point. He has seven goals and 32 points in 79 games on the season.

Canucks' Garrison Nabs Assist In Win

News: Jason Garrison picked up an assist in Wednesday's shootout win over the Jets.
Analysis: Jason Garrison has now recorded a point in back-to-back games, giving him seven goals and 25 assists in 68 games on the season. He is on pace to smash his career-high of 33 points, set in the 2011-2012 season with Florida.

Canucks' Garrison Scores In Heritage Classic

News: Jason Garrison blasted home his seventh goal of the season in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Senators.
Analysis: Jason Garrison opened the Heritage Classic scoring with a thundering slap shot on a first-period power play, but the Sens were able to claw their way back from a 2-0 deficit, handing the Canucks their ninth loss in 10 games. Garrison leads all Canucks defensemen with 30 points in 63 games this season.

Canucks' Garrison Scores Goal In Loss

News: Jason Garrison scored his sixth goal of the season during Friday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Jason Garrison tied the game at the 11:50 mark of the third period but the Canucks were unable to hang on long enough to even take the game to overtime. Garrison now has six goals and 22 assists on the season.

Canucks' Garrison Consistently Inconsistent

News: After going on a recent three-game scoring streak in early January, Jason Garrison is now pointless in his last five games.
Analysis: There are inconsistent defensemen in fantasy hockey, and then there is Jason Garrison. Despite being inconsistent, Garrison has still managed to put up 26 points in 51 games this season. He has produced good overall totals, but his streaking and slumping tendencies make him tough to deal with in fantasy hockey. It would also be nice to see more goals from Garrison, as he has only scored five times in 51 games.

Canucks' Garrison Scores In Loss

News: Jason Garrison scored his fifth goal of the season in Tuesday's loss to Pittsburgh. It was his first goal in 13 games.
Analysis: Jason Garrison now has a point in back-to-back games and is up to 25 points in 45 games on the season. He is streaky, but he still has solid totals on the year.

Canucks' Garrison Nabs Assist In Loss

News: Jason Garrison picked up a power-play assist in Sunday's loss to the Ducks. It was only his second point in ten games.
Analysis: Not only is Jason Garrison slumping offensively, he is struggling defensively, going minus-5 over his past five games. He is streaky, but still has 24 points in 44 games on the season. He is a big minute-muncher in Vancouver, averaging over 25 minutes of ice time in his last five games. He is also a key power-play contributor, as 11 of his 24 points have come with the man advantage.

Canucks' Garrison Slumping Again

News: Jason Garrison only has one point in his last nine games and has gone minus-2 in that span.
Analysis: Jason Garrison has been notoriously streaky this season, making him tough to deal with in fantasy hockey. He opened the season with nine points in ten games, but then went on a 14-game scoring drought. Before this recent slump, Garrison had been on a mid-November to mid-December terror, collecting ten points in 13 games. He puts up good point totals, but still only has four goals on the year, a far-cry from his career-high of 16, set in 2011-2012 with the Florida Panthers.

Canucks' Garrison Back On Scoresheet

News: Jason Garrison ended a three-game scoring drought on Friday, assisting on a Zack Kassian goal in a shootout win over the Hawks.
Analysis: Despite the recent drought, Jason Garrison has been a solid fantasy contributor this season, leading all Canucks defensemen with 23 points in 38 games.

Canucks' Garrison Tallies Three Assists In Win

News: Jason Garrison had three assists during the Canucks' 4-0 win over the Oilers on Friday.
Analysis: It was a very strong game for the defenseman, who made some nice plays to clear the zone and start the rush the other way. He had a four-game point streak going up until Monday when he failed to register a goal or an assist against the Hurricanes, but he has picked things back up in style here. It was his third multi-point game over his last five.

Canucks' Garrison Extends Point Streak

News: Jason Garrison extended his point streak to four games on Sunday, assisting on a Mike Santorelli goal in a win over Colorado.
Analysis: Jason Garrison now has a whopping 10 points over his past eight games. There may not be a hotter defenseman in the league right now. He has also put 12 shots on goal over his past three games and has been seeing over 22 minutes of ice time per game. You know what to do.

Garrison Scores On Power Play In Friday's Win

News: Jason Garrison scored on the power play, his fourth goal of the season, during the Canucks' 3-2 overtime win over the Coyotes on Friday.
Analysis: Jason Garrison's goal came less than two minutes into the game to put the Canucks' ahead nice and early. The defenseman is really starting to pick up his offensive play again as he now has seven points (two goals, five assists) over his last five games. With 18 points in 31 games this season, he's proving to be quite the force at the blue line.

Two More Helpers For Canucks' Garrison

News: Jason Garrison had two assists for the second straight game in Tuesday's win over the Predators.
Analysis: He's also got points in five of his last six games, totaling a goal and seven assists in that stretch. It'd be good to see him find some more twine, though -- Jason Garrison has just three goals on the year despite taking 85 shots on net.

Canucks' Garrison Back On Track

News: Jason Garrison extended his point streak to three games on Thursday, scoring a power-play goal and adding an even-strength assist in a win over Ottawa.
Analysis: Jason Garrison is back putting up points after recently going through a 14-game scoring drought. He has four points over his past three games and has recorded seven shots on goal in that span. He isn't being counted on in Vancouver as much as he was earlier in the season though. Garrison played 18:06 on Thursday, while fellow defensemen Dan Hamhuis, Alexander Edler, and Kevin Bieksa all logged over 22:00.

Canucks' Garrison Ends Scoring Drought

News: Jason Garrison ended a 14-game scoring drought on Saturday, assisting on a Ryan Kesler power-play goal in a 2-1 loss to the Hawks.
Analysis: Jason Garrison has been ice cold lately and he still hasn't registered a goal since early October. His ice time has gone down significantly over the course of the season. He played 18:30 against Chicago on Saturday and 17:14 against Columbus on Friday. Earlier in the season, Garrison was averaging around 23:00 a game. It is also disappointing to see that his plus-minus rating has dropped to minus-3 on the year. He does tend to go on streaks, so this could be the start of something for the struggling defenseman.

Canucks' Garrison Has Gone Ice Cold

News: After failing to register on the scoresheet in a 2-1 loss to the Sharks on Thursday, Jason Garrison has now gone 11 straight games without registering a point.
Analysis: We knew he is inconsistent, but this takes it to a whole new level. He has been taken off the top power-play unit and only saw 0:38 of man advantage time on Thursday. Your best best is to wait until he goes on a mini hot streak, and then try and trade him for a more consistent defenseman.

Canucks' Garrison Cooling Off

News: After putting up nine points over his first ten games, Jason Garrison hasn't registered a point in six games.
Analysis: Jason Garrison has a history of being inconsistent, so we can't say we didn't see this coming. He is still averaging 22:53 of ice time per game though and saw a whopping 8:50 of power-play time on Saturday. He will find a way back onto the scoresheet sooner than later.

Canucks' Garrison Assists On Lone Canuck Goal

News: Jason Garrison assisted on Henrik Sedin's power-play goal in a 3-1 loss to the Blue Jackets on Sunday.
Analysis: He is simply on fire right now with two goals and nine points over his first ten games. He will slow down eventually so ride him while he is hot. He looks primed to shatter his career-high 33 point season that he recorded in 2011-2012 with the Panthers.

Canucks' Garrison Continues Point-Per-Game Pace

News: Garrsion collected an assist and went plus-2 in a 3-0 win over the Sabres on Thursday.
Analysis: P.K. Subban is currently the only defenseman with more points than Jason Garrison this season. Garrison now has eight points over his first eight games and is on pace for a career-high season. Ride him while he is hot as he is bound to slow down eventually. He's as good as anyone right now though, and you should play him with confidence.

Canucks' Garrison Strong In Loss

News: Jason Garrison picked up an assist and fired ten shots on goal in a 4-1 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday.
Analysis: Jason Garrison led Vancouver with 26:05 of ice time Saturday and was one of the only Canucks to finish with an even plus-minus rating. Garrison is currently producing at a point per game pace and currently leads all NHL defensemen with 24 shots on goal. He has been the go-to-guy on defense for Vancouver and isn't slowing down anytime soon.
