Two Helpers For Preds' Wilson

News: Colin Wilson notched a pair of assists in Tuesday's shootout win over the Kings.
Analysis: He's been producing over the last four games, racking up two goals, three assists and a plus-4. However, Colin Wilson's overall production has, as usual, been fairly sporadic, as he has just nine points in 19 games for the season.

Preds' Wilson Tallies Two Points

News: Colin Wilson contributed a goal, an assist and a plus-3 rating to Tuesday's 9-2 embarrassment of the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: It's been a slow year for the 25-year-old, who's failed to post any kind of sustained offensive success. Tuesday's effort was his first multi-point game of the year, and he hasn't found the scoresheet in consecutive games once yet this season. Colin Wilson will look to change that Thursday in Ottawa.

Preds' Wilson Returns Saturday

News: Colin Wilson (lower body) returned to action Saturday against the Jets, seeing 15:28 of ice time in the 2-1 victory.
Analysis: Colin Wilson had missed the previous two games with the injury. The winger has accumulated four points and a plus-3 rating in 15 games on the season.

Preds' Wilson Likely Out Thursday

News: Colin Wilson (lower body) isn't expected to play Thursday against the Blues.
Analysis: Colin Wilson missed Wednesday's practice due to the injury, and with the Predators not holding a morning skate Thursday, it appears he won't be able to find his way into the lineup. Gabriel Bourque is expected to fill in for Wilson for the second straight game.

Preds' Wilson Nursing Lower Body Injury

News: Colin Wilson is currently listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, according to The Tennessean.
Analysis: Colin Wilson did not take any shifts during the third period of the Preds' 2-1 win over St. Louis on Saturday, so presumably the injury happened sometime during the first two frames. Keep Wilson on your fantasy bench until further details of his ailment are released.

Preds' Wilson Gets First Goal

News: Colin Wilson tallied his first goal of the season in Sunday's win over the Canucks.
Analysis: Colin Wilson's goal came with just 1:33 remaining in the contest, giving the Predators some added insurance in the 3-1 victory. He's averaging 14:38 of ice time this season while playing primarily on the Preds' third line, a role that makes him relatively uninteresting for fantasy purposes.

Preds' Wilson (Undisclosed) Practices Wednesday

News: Colin Wilson (undisclosed), who wore a no-contact jersey for Tuesday's practice, was a full participant Wednesday, according to the Tennessean.
Analysis: Colin Wilson centered a line with Erik Nystrom and Rich Clune during practice, which would represent either the Preds' third or fourth line most nights. While the injury concerns surrounding Wilson appear to have faded, we need to see him back on a scoring line to view him as fantasy-worthy in most formats. Earlier in camp, he was skating with Derek Roy and Craig Smith, so hopefully he gets reunited with these two higher-caliber linemates at some point.

Preds' Wilson Practices In No-Contact Jersey

News: Colin Wilson (undisclosed) practiced Tuesday in a no-contact jersey, The Tennessean's Eric Stromgren reports.
Analysis: There has been no official word regarding the exact nature or severity of the injury, so consider him day-to-day for now. Colin Wilson had been skating on the Preds' second line alongside Derek Roy and Craig Smith prior to the injury.

Preds' Wilson Scores Twice Friday

News: Colin Wilson scored twice during the Predators' 5-2 win over the Ducks on Friday.
Analysis: Colin Wilson now has 10 goals with 20 assists over 76 games this season. He's obviously not known for his scoring touch, but he now has three goals in his last four games as Phoenix desperately holds onto its very slim playoff chances. Though this wasn't exactly the breakout season people were hoping for, the 24-year-old center still has more to come.

Preds' Wilson Ends Scoring Drought

News: Colin Wilson scored a first-period goal during the Preds' 6-1 rout of the Sabres on Thursday. It was his first point in eight games.
Analysis: With just 28 points in 73 games so far this season, Colin Wilson is not having the breakout campaign the team was hoping for. Furthermore, it was expected he would take over as the team's No. 2 center following the departure of David Legwand, but for now at least, that role appears to have gone to rookie Calle Jarnkrok who the Preds received as part of the Legwand trade. Bottom line, Wilson needs to show way more consistency around the net before we can start recommending him as a dependable fantasy option.

Two Helpers For Preds' Wilson

News: Colin Wilson assisted on second-period goals by Shea Weber and Craig Smith in Tuesday's win over Buffalo. He went plus-2 on the evening.
Analysis: Colin Wilson's got three assists and a plus-5 rating in the last two games, but had gone scoreless in eight straight before that. Wilson's been playing bigger minutes recently, so this uptick in production is noteworthy.

Preds' Wilson Gets Opportunity At Center

News: According to The Tennessean, the Predators appear "poised to make Colin Wilson their No. 1 Center" following the departure of David Legwand, the team's all-time leading scorer.
Analysis: Colin Wilson is a left winger by trade but has dabbled at times at center during his five-year NHL career. The Preds slotted Wilson on the second line Thursday between Gabriel Bourque and Craig Smith, and also gave him 4:11 on the wing for the team's top power play unit. Nashville has been patient with its 2008 seventh-overall pick but he has largely disappointed this year, scoring just five more points in 62 games (24) than he did in 25 games last season (19). Most recently, he has been mired in a horrendous slump with only three assists to show for the last 21 games. David Legwand's Predators legacy of 569 points in 958 games, including 28 in the playoffs, definitely leaves behind some large shoes to fill. With 19 games left on the docket, Wilson's mini-promotion should give him sufficient opportunity to prove he's up to the challenge.

Preds' Wilson Shifts From Wing To Center

News: Colin Wilson was shifted to center Tuesday against Winnipeg, the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: With Matt Cullen currently out with an upper-body injury, coach Barry Trotz is opting to use Colin Wilson at the center position instead of on the wing. Either way, it will be interesting to see how long the experiment lasts - with just 23 points in 54 games this season, Wilson is failing to live up to expectations yet again, so coach Trotz is no doubt looking to get the 24-year-old Wilson going any way he can. Until that happens, he's hard to recommend as a viable fantasy option in most formats.

Preds' Wilson Enduring Scoring Drought

News: Colin Wilson failed to hit the scoresheet Saturday against Colorado, stretching his pointless streak to six games after scoring seven points (2G, 5A) in his previous seven contests.
Analysis: And it's not like the whole team has been cold - the Preds have scored 16 goals over their past six games, but Colin Wilson hasn't been in on any of them, which is no doubt driving fantasy owners crazy. What's worse, with a plus-minus rating of -6 over that stretch, he has been a defensive liablity as well. Bottom line, Wilson had better turn his game around fast or he could find himself demoted to checking-line status. Feel free to bench him for now until he gets his game figured out.

Wilson Leads Preds Past Wings

News: Colin Wilson scored two goals and added an assist during Monday's 6-4 win over Detroit, giving him five points in his last three games.
Analysis: Colin Wilson now has 20 points in 39 games so far this season, putting him on pace to eclipse his career high of 35 points from two seasons ago.  He continues to skate on the Preds' top line alongside Mike Fisher and Patric Hornqvist, and represents very good fantasy value in medium to deeper formats.

Wilson Helps Preds Defeat Stars

News: Colin Wilson registered an assist during Thursday's 3-1 win over Dallas. However, he skated a season-low 11:06 on the Preds' third line and did not see any power play time.
Analysis: Colin Wilson now has 15 points (5G, 10A) in 32 games this season, so at his current pace he's well on his way to eclipsing the career-best 35 points he posted two seasons ago. However, his declining ice time is worth monitoring, especially with the man advantage, since a good chunk of his points have come on the power play the past few seasons. Don't be afraid to bench Wilson in favor of a guy who's seeing healthier minutes.

Preds' Wilson Snaps 11-Game Goal Drought

News: Colin Wilson snapped an 11-game goal drought when he potted his fourth of the season in Saturday's shootout loss to Philadelphia.
Analysis: This guy is talented, but he hasn't put all the pieces together from a consistency perspective. He has actually taken a step back this season. Bench him and hope he figures things out soon.

Preds' Wilson Adds Four Points In Win

News: Colin Wilson exploded for two goals and two assists Wednesday against the Avalanche.
Analysis: The veteran center entered Wednesday's contest with just five points in 14 games, but was nearly able to double that total against a goalie that had been considered one of the league's best to date. It's not likely that he'll be able to produce at anywhere near this pace moving forward, but he certainly proved that he has the potential to chip in offensively.

Preds' Wilson Scores PP Goal

News: Colin Wilson got on the scoreboard for the first time this year Tuesday, notching a power-play goal against the Wild.
Analysis: After skating just 12 and 13 minutes in the first two games this year, Colin Wilson played a more normal 16:26 in Tuesday's win. It's good to see he's up to the task after offseason shoulder surgery.

Preds' Wilson Back On Ice Following Shoulder Surgery

News: Colin Wilson (shoulder) participated in a full-contact scrimmage Friday, the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Colin Wilson's rehab appears to be on track after undergoing shoulder surgery back in May. At this point, there's no reason to suspect he won't start the season on schedule next month. After scoring 19 points in 25 games last season, he's expected to play a top-line role for the Preds this year. Don't forget about him on draft day.

Preds' Wilson Out 4-6 Months Following Shoulder Surgery

News: Colin Wilson is expected to miss 4-6 months after undergoing stabilization surgery on his left shoulder last week, according to Reuters.
Analysis: Colin Wilson had 19 points in 25 games before undergoing a similar procedure - on his right shoulder - in April. Given the new timeframe for his expected recovery, it's questionable whether he will be available for the start of the season come October.

Preds' Wilson Done For Season

News: Colin Wilson is slated to have season-ending surgery to repair his shoulder, the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Colin Wilson, who last suited up on March 9, was the Predators' leading scorer (with 19 points in 25 games) at the time of his injury. Also slated for season-ending procedures are teammates Gabriel Bourque and Paul Gaustad.

Preds' Wilson Skates

News: Colin Wilson (upper body) skated Wednesday, The Tennessean reports.

Preds' Wilson (Upper Body) May Be Out For Season

News: The Predators are uncertain if Colin Wilson (upper body) will be able to return this season, The Tennessean reports. "I don't know," coach Barry Trotz said of Wilson's potential return. "When I see him on the ice for us with a sweater on, then I think he'll have a chance to go."
Analysis: Colin Wilson has yet to skate with the team since suffering the upper body injury in a March 9 game against the Wild. While the team was optimistic Wilson a couple of weeks after the injury that Wilson would return to game action before the season ends, that is no longer looking nearly as certain.

Preds' Wilson (Upper Body) Back On Skates

News: Colin Wilson (upper body) has resumed skating but is still not close to returning, reports the Tennessean. "[Wilson's] still a ways away," coach Barry Trotz said. "It's not like [he'll be back] late this week or anything like that."
Analysis: Colin Wilson, who was injured March 9, has missed eight games so far and yet is still tied for second in team scoring with 19 points. It sounds like there is still no timetable for his return, so keep him glued to your fantasy bench for now.
