Kings Send Berube Back To Manchester

News: J.F. Berube was reassigned to AHL Manchester on Thursday, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: It's uncertain at this time if Martin Jones (back spasms) will be ready to play when the Kings return to action Jan. 28 against the Blackhawks, so it's possible that J.F. Berube's demotion will only be a short-term one. The decision to send Berube down was born more out of an effort by the Kings to keep the goalie on the ice during the break, rather than remaining idle.

Kings Recall Berube

News: J.F. Berube was recalled from AHL Manchester on Saturday, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: News surfaced at the Kings' morning skate that Martin Jones would be unavailable for at least Saturday's game against the Ducks due to an undisclosed injury, so J.F. Berube will join the team to serve as the backup to Jonathan Quick. It's not believed that Jones' injury is significant, so it's quite possible Berube won't see any work with the parent club during his stay there. The 23-year-old has been one of the best goalies in the AHL this season, going 19-4-3 with a 2.05 GAA and .920 save percentage over 27 outings.

Kings Send Berube To Minors

News: Los Angeles sent J.F. Berube to AHL Manchester on Sunday, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: J.F. Berube had a nice season in the AHL last season where he appeared in 48 games and compiled a 28-17-2 record. Berube never really had a chance of making the Kings' roster with Jonathan Quick and Martin Jones being the top-two goalies. Berube is only 23 so he has time to develop his skills in the AHL for now.

Kings, Berube Agree To New Deal

News: J.F. Berube re-signed with the Kings on a two-way contract Tuesday.
Analysis: J.F. Berube, 23, played a career-high 48 games for AHL Manchester in 2013-14, going 28-17-2 with a 2.37 GAA and .913 save percentage, ranking in the top six among AHL rookies in all categories. The presence of Jonathan Quick and Martin Jones with the big club likely relegates Berube to Manchester for the bulk of 2014-15, barring a long-term injury to either netminder.

Kings Send Berube Back To Minors

News: J.F. Berube was returned to AHL Manchester on Monday, Jon Rosen of LAKingsInsider.com reports.
Analysis: With the Kings set to resume game action this week, Martin Jones was recalled from Manchester to take J.F. Berube's spot as the backup goalie. Like Jones, Berube also appears to be a promising netminding prospect for the Kings. He owns a 19-13-2 record and 2.43 GAA in 34 games with Manchester this season.

Kings Recall Berube

News: J.F. Berube was recalled from AHL Manchester on Friday.
Analysis: He'll only act as a placeholder for Martin Jones on the Kings' roster during the Olympic break, with Jones set to assume the bulk of the starting duties for Manchester. J.F. Berube, 22, has acted as Manchester's primary netminder this season, going 19-13-2 with a 2.43 GAA and .914 save percentage.
