Predators' Bourque On The Ice For Warmup

News: Gabriel Bourque is on the ice for pre-game warm ups, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque missed Game 5 with an upper-body injury, but was able to participate in Saturday's morning skate. He is taking part in warm ups and is slated to be on a line with Paul Gaustad and Viktor Stalberg.

Preds' Bourque Participates In Morning Skate

News: Gabriel Bourque was on the ice for the Predators' morning skate on Saturday, Brooks Bratten of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: It remains to be seen if Gabriel Bourque will be able to suit up for Saturday's Game 6 against Chicago, but his presence at the Predators' morning skate bodes well for his availability. Nashville will confirm his status prior to puck drop on Saturday.

Preds' Bourque Out For Game 5

News: Gabriel Bourque is not in the lineup for Game 5 against Chicago on Thursday due to an upper-body injury, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque's injury likely occurred in Game 4, and it will cost him Thursday's matchup. He played well in the last contest, providing seven hits, four blocked shots and two shots on goal in 19:13 of ice time. Bourque's next chance to return would be Saturday, should the series stretch to six games.

Preds' Bourque Sets Up Two In Win

News: Gabriel Bourque set up two of the Preds' four goals in Saturday's victory over the Capitals.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque has largely been stuck in a bottom-six role this season, but his second assist did come alongside top liners Mike Fisher and Filip Forsberg. It's unclear if he will have many further opportunities to permanently unseat Craig Smith at one of the wing spots on the top line, as Bourque hasn't shown much scoring prowess this season. He's managed only 13 points in 63 games.

Preds' Bourque Riding Pointless Streak

News: Gabriel Bourque failed to crack the scoresheet Monday against the Coyotes, bringing his current pointless streak to 11 games.
Analysis: Given the roster upgrades the Predators made this season, Gabriel Bourque has been relegated to a fourth-line role most nights. As a result, his ice time has dropped to a career-low 11:45 per game, a decline of roughly four minutes from two seasons ago. Bourque will become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and it would not surprise us if the Preds decided to part ways with the 24-year-old winger. Either way, he should not be on your fantasy roster at this time.

Rare Assist For Preds' Bourque

News: Gabriel Bourque recorded an assist - just his ninth point of the season - in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Sharks.
Analysis: After posting a career-high 26 points in 2013-14, Gabriel Bourque will be lucky to hit the 20-point mark this season. Given his fourth-line status, he does not figure to make much of a fantasy impact anytime soon; his value remains limited to ultra-deep formats only.

Preds' Bourque Bags Goal In Win

News: Gabriel Bourque nabbed an unassisted goal in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque capitalized on a first-period Pittsburgh turnover to claim his third marker of the season. With only seven points and minimal hit and PIM totals across 36 games, Bourque isn't an attractive option in most fantasy formats.

Preds' Bourque Makes Most Of Few Minutes In Win

News: Despite skating only nine minutes, Gabriel Bourque scored a goal, dished out an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's win over the Blues.
Analysis: With that, Gabriel Bourque snaps a six-game scoreless slump in which he'd put just three shots on goal. But he still owns only two goals and five points on the year, so there's not much to be found here from a fantasy perspective, though he's at least hitting at a career-high rate (38 in 23 games).

Gabriel Bourque

Preds' Bourque Failing To Add Offense

News: Gabriel Bourque was held off the scoresheet during Tuesday's loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque sat out eight games as a healthy scratch during the second half of November, but has played in nine games since then, registering a goal and two assists during that span -- his first points of the season. He essentially has zero fantasy value outside of very deep leagues.

First Points For Preds' Bourque

News: Gabriel Bourque picked up his first goal (an empty-netter) and his first assist of the year Tuesday in a 3-0 win over Colorado.
Analysis: It's been an awful season so far for Gabriel Bourque, who had gone 14 scoreless games to start the campaign, so it's nice to see him put something on the board, even if it wasn't necessarily in incredibly impressive fashion.

Gabriel Bourque

Preds' Bourque Riding Pine

News: Gabriel Bourque, who has zero points to his credit thus far, has been a healthy scratch six times since the start of the season, including the past two games.
Analysis: What started out as a very promising campaign for Gabriel Bourque, with him skating on the top line with Mike Ribeiro and James Neal, has quickly gone sour. Bourque has since been replaced on the first unit by rookie phenom Filip Forsberg, leaving Bourque as the odd man out. Bourque scored a career-high 26 points in 74 games last season, but doesn't figure to come anywhere close to that total this season, given his current situation. He should not be on anyone's fantasy roster right now.

Preds' Bourque Toiling On Fourth Line

News: Gabriel Bourque, who has zero points in nine games, skated a season-low 7:51 Friday against the Flames, playing on the Predators' fourth line alongside Paul Gaustad and Eric Nystrom.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque recorded a career-high 26 points last season, but will be hard-pressed to come anywhere near that total this season given his current pace. He's not even shooting the puck all that much (averaging just under one shot per game), which is an indication of just how much he's focusing on his defensive responsibilities these days. Bottom line, Bourque's fantasy value is hovering right around the zero mark in all but the deepest of formats. Avoid.

Preds' Bourque Enjoying Promotion To Top Line

News: Gabriel Bourque saw 18:35 of ice time in Saturday's preseason loss to Columbus, including over six minutes on the power play. He skated mainly on the Preds' first line alongside Mike Ribeiro and James Neal.
Analysis: At the start of training camp, rookie Filip Forsberg was slated to play left wing on the Preds' top line with Neal and Ribeiro, but over the last week or so, it appears Gabriel Bourque has since been moved into this slot with Forsberg playing on the second line with Derek Roy and Craig Smith. Bourque has typically played more of a checking-line role the past few seasons, so this move to the top line definitely gives his fantasy value a boost. He's worth a late-round sleeper pick for those of you in deeper formats.

Bourque Accounts For Preds' Offense Tuesday

News: Gabriel Bourque scored both Nashville goals in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars.
Analysis: Rare productivity for Gabriel Bourque, who'd been off the scoresheet for four straight and hadn't scored a goal since March 23. With just 25 points in 71 games on the year, he hasn't been of much use to fantasy owners even in deeper formats.

Preds' Bourque Notches Goal Tuesday

News: Gabriel Bourque gathered a goal in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers.
Analysis: The tally snapped a 29-game goalless streak for Gabriel Bourque, who has flitted in and out of the lineup as a result of his lack of scoring productivity. He'll be hard-pressed to climb into a regular top-line role for the Preds.

Preds' Bourque Struggling To Contribute

News: Gabriel Bourque failed to hit the scoresheet for the sixth consecutive game Saturday against the Ducks, registering just a single shot on goal in only 12:35 of ice time.
Analysis: Although Gabriel Bourque is just two points shy of the career-high 19 he posted two seasons ago, he is looking more and more out of place as the Preds' second-line left winger. In our view, a guy who has yet to crack the 20-point plateau is really more suited to a checking-line role. Perhaps this is something that coach Barry Trotz will eventually figure out. Either way, he should only be on your fantasy roster if you are in a very deep format. Othwerise, look elsewhere for scoring help.

Power Outage Continues For Preds’ Bourque

News: Gabriel Bourque finished Monday's game against Montreal with zero points, one shot on goal, one blocked shot and a minus-1 rating.  It was the ninth time in the past 11 games that he was held off the score sheet.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque had a very productive second half of November, tallying eight points in nine games, but he's been stone cold since then.  Bench him until he can find a way to turn things around.

Preds Bench Bourque

News: Gabriel Bourque missed Saturday's game against the Sharks as a healthy scratch.
Analysis: The writing was on the wall for Gabriel Bourque, who saw just eight minutes of ice time his previous game. With Craig Smith (flu) now back in the lineup after a three-game absence, it appears Bourque is now on the bubble in Nashville. Bench him immediately.

Gabriel Bourque

Bourqe Failing To Contribute To Preds' Offensive Attack

News: Gabriel Bourque has just a single assist in his last five games, skating on the Preds' second line alongside Craig Smith and David Legwand.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque had a very productive second half of November with seven points in as many games (3G, 4A), however his offense appears to have dried up since then. Overall, he's really more of a third line player being forced to play a top-six role due to the Preds' lack of offensive depth. With 11 points in 27 games so far this season, he should surpass his previous career-high of 19 points two seasons ago, but at this rate he will be hard-pressed to crack the 30-point barrier by the end of the season.

Nashville's Bourque Scores In Return

News: Gabriel Bourque scored Nashville's only goal in Friday's loss to Pittsburgh, his first game back since returning from personal reasons after missing Tuesday's contest.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque has a modest four points over 16 games but has put up decent point-per-game numbers over the last two seasons. Odds are he won't light up the league too much, but those in deeper leagues may want to track Bourque's minutes.

Preds' Bourque Rejoins Team

News: Gabriel Bourque (personal) rejoined the Predators for practice Thursday, Joshua Cooper of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: He'll be available Friday vs. the Penguins after missing the previous game for the birth of his baby girl. Gabriel Bourque has three points in 15 games this season.

Predators' Bourque Out Tuesday

News: Gabriel Bourque will not play in Tuesday's game against the Islanders so he can be with his wife for the birth of the couple's first child, Joshua Cooper of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Gabriel Bourque went home to be with his wife for the birth as the team is on the road. The Predators do not play again until Friday in Pittsburgh, so it seems likely that he will be able to return in time for that game. In 15 games this season, Bourque has totaled one goal and two assists for the Predators.

Preds' Bourque Off To Slow Start

News: Gabriel Bourque played 13:49 during Sunday's 3-2 win over the Islanders, after missing Friday's 4-0 loss against Toronto.
Analysis: After scoring 16 points in 34 games last season, Gabriel Bourque is off to a slow start with zero points through four contests. Friday's stint riding the pine was surely coach Barry Trotz's way of sending a message that Bourque needs to step up his game. Monitor closely to see whether he responds.

Preds' Bourque Back After Torn Meniscus

News: Gabriel Bourque (knee) picked up a goal while firing four shots on goal and delivering four hits against the Panthers on Tuesday night.
Analysis: With an opportunity to skate on the Preds' second line with Mike Fisher and Patric Hornqvist to open the season, Gabriel Bourque is well positioned to build off of the 11-goal, 16-point effort he delivered over 34 games in the lockout shortened campaign last season. File him away as an intriguing late-round option to roll the dice on in deeper formats.

Preds' Bourque Done For Season

News: Gabriel Bourque is slated to have season-ending surgery to repair his meniscus, the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: The report notes that Gabriel Bourque has been out since April 7 with an unrelated upper body injury, but he'll now turn to getting his knee back in shape. Bourque finishes the season with 11 goals (currently tied for the team lead) and 16 points in 34 games played.
