News: Casey Cizikas (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Thursday.
Analysis: Casey Cizikas is expected to resume his duties as the Isles' fourth-line center for Thursday's game against the Predators. It's a role that hasn't afforded him much fantasy utility, as his numbers (six goals, eight assists in 53 games) flesh out.

Isles' Cizikas On Track To Play Thursday

News: Coach Jack Capuano said Casey Cizikas (lower body) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Predators, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Analysis: Though Casey Cizikas still remains listed on the Isles' injured reserve list, the team is expected to open up a roster spot for him at some point in the afternoon by either assigning a forward to the minors or placing another active player on IR. The fourth-line center, who has six goals and 14 points in 53 games this season, hasn't suited up since the Feb. 16 tilt with the Rangers.

Isles' Cizikas Nearing Return

News: Casey Cizikas (lower body) will likely return for Thursday's contest against the Predators.
Analysis: Casey Cizikas has resumed skating the past few days, and coach Jack Capuano indicated that there's a good chance the center would be back to start the team's road trip. If Matt Martin receives a suspension in Wednesday's hearing, Cizikas could be activated in a corresponding move.

Isles Place Cizikas On IR

News: Casey Cizikas (lower body) was officially placed on injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to Feb. 16.
Analysis: Casey Cizikas' placement on IR means he will miss at least three more contests, with his next chance to return coming Feb. 24 against the Coyotes. The center has notched 14 points in 53 games for the Isles to date, to go along with 18 PIM.

Isles Not Placing Cizikas On IR Yet

News: Updating a previous report, Casey Cizikas (upper body) hasn't been placed on injured reserve, but will not be in lineup Tuesday against the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Casey Cizikas will bow out of the lineup to make room for Michael Grabner's return, but it looks like his injury remains in the day-to-day category. The center could draw back in for Thursday's tilt with the Predators.

News: Casey Cizikas (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis: There is no word yet on the exact nature of the injury nor how long Casey Cizikas will be out of the lineup, but he has been bothered by a foot injury ever since blocking a shot several games ago. Michael Grabner has been activated to take take his spot on the 23-man roster.

Isles' Cizikas Aggressive In Win

News: Casey Cizikas racked up five hits and scored a goal off a rebound in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Casey Cizikas is making the most of fourth-line duty for the Islanders, current leaders of the Metropolitan Division. Despite the fact that he has points (two goals, one assist) in three straight games, the centerman is most likely to keep mashing opponents given that he's on pace for 171 hits this season.

Isles' Cizikas Set To Return

News: Casey Cizikas (foot) appears set to play Tuesday against the Panthers, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Analysis: The Islanders assigned emergency recall Colin McDonald back to AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday, suggesting Casey Cizikas will be healthy enough to center the team's fourth line. The foot injury had kept Cizikas' status as questionable for the last two games, but he'll end up suiting up for both contests.

Isles' Cizikas Not On A Line At Practice Monday

News: Casey Cizikas was not on one of the offensive lines during Monday's practice.
Analysis: Not being on a line wouldn't necessarily indicate anything, but that added to the emergency recall of Colin McDonald could suggest he is again dealing with the foot/ankle issue that caused him to sit out of Friday's practice.

Isles' Cizikas Active Saturday

News: Casey Cizikas (foot) will play Saturday against the Red Wings, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Isles' Cizikas Still Questionable For Saturday

News: Casey Cizikas (foot/ankle) is still being considered a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt with the Red Wings.
Analysis: The Islanders didn't hold a morning skate in advance of Saturday's matinee, so it's difficult to get a read on Casey Cizikas' status. If he ends up sitting out, look for Colin McDonald to assume his spot in the lineup.

News: Casey Cizikas (foot/ankle) missed practice Friday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.

Isles' Cizikas Helps Out In Win

News: Casey Cizikas contributed an assist in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Rangers. He also won 13 of his 18 faceoff attempts.
Analysis: Casey Cizikas has done well to win over half of his draws in the faceoff circle this season (51.6%), but his absence of scoring has sapped him of fantasy value. He's only produced four goals and seven assists in 43 games this season, which still puts him on pace for a career-best scoring total.

Isles Place Cizikas On IR

News: Casey Cizikas (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, with a retroactive date of Dec. 6.
Analysis: The IR placement will keep Casey Cizikas out of the lineup for at least the next three games, as he won't be eligible for activation until Sunday. The Islanders haven't provided a clear recovery timetable for the fourth-line center, who has notched eight points in 26 games this season.
