Connauton Contributes Another Goal For Jackets

News: Kevin Connauton scored his second goal with the Jackets on Thursday, potting the game-tying tally with 9:01 remaining in an eventual 3-2 overtime win against Washington.
Analysis: Two days after potting his first goal with Columbus, Kevin Connauton decided he liked it so much, he'd try another. Although he again played very limited minutes for a defenseman -- 16:49 -- Connauton has been getting some regular run on the Jackets' power play, so he's worth an add in deeper formats.

Jackets' Connauton Pots OT Winner

News: Kevin Connauton scored his first goal with Columbus in overtime Tuesday, sending his team to a 3-2 win over the Flyers.
Analysis: He'd gone scoreless in his first six games since joining the Jackets, but picked a fine moment to deliver his first goal since Dec. 16, 2014. Kevin Connauton's still playing limited minutes, though -- just 16:50 in this one, which was actually his second-highest ice total since the Jackets claimed him off waivers from Dallas.

Blue Jackets Claim Connauton Off Waivers

News: The Blue Jackets claimed Kevin Connauton off waivers from the Stars on Tuesday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton was seeing only minimal playing time for the Stars, so the team decided to place him on waivers, and the injury-depleted Blue Jackets decided to snap him up. It remains to be seen what type of role he will fill for his new squad.

Stars' Connauton On The Outside Looking In

News: Kevin Connauton has only been suited up eight times this season and has been a healthy scratch the last four games.
Analysis: Despite the trade of Sergei Gonchar and troubles on the blue line, Kevin Connauton hasn't been able to work his way into regular time. You'll want to wait until you see him earn the trust of management before you add him to your roster.

Connauton To Sit Third Straight For Dallas

News: Kevin Connauton will be a healthy scratch for the third straight game Monday against the Jets, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton had consistently been getting the nod over Aaron Rome since the Olympic break, but it appears that coach Lindy Ruff is going with Rome for the time being because of the physical nature of his game.

Connauton Adds Assist In Dallas Loss

News: Kevin Connauton had an assist and a minus-1 rating through 16:12 of ice time in Saturday's loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton continues to be Coach Ruff's pick over Aaron Rome on D for the time being. Even so, it's not clear yet that he's going to be in the lineup every night. It may be best to look elsewhere for your team.

Connauton In Lineup For Stars

News: Kevin Connauton looks as though he'll be a part of the third D pairing in Thursday's game against the Hurricanes, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton is slowly carving out a role for himself in the lineup. He was getting the nod over Aaron Rome regularly prior to the break and it looks as if little has changed. Nonetheless, Connauton's upside is very limited. His minutes are generally under 15 and he's not getting any on special teams.

Stars' Connauton Finding Role

News: Kevin Connauton has a goal and six assists in 25 games this season.
Analysis: The young blueliner began the season in the AHL, but has been in the lineup pretty consistently over the past couple months. Expect his role to stay the same when the games resume after the break.

Two Helpers For Stars' Connauton

News: Kevin Connauton picked up two assists -- one on the power play -- in Thursday's loss to Montreal.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton had been held off the scoresheet for five consecutive games, and his point contributions have been fairly inconsistent in general. However, there's legit talent here -- Connauton was a 24-goal, 72-point scorer in his lone junior season and has twice hit double-digit goals in the AHL.

Stars Recall Connauton From Conditioning Stint

News: The Stars recalled Kevin Connauton Wednesday from his conditioning assignment with AHL Texas, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton appeared in six games with AHL Texas, registering one assist and a minus-4 rating. He'll be strictly a third-pairing defenseman when he suits up again for the Stars.

Stars Send Connauton To AHL For Conditioning

News: Kevin Connauton was loaned to AHL Texas on Friday to complete a conditioning assignment.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton will head to AHL Texas to see some additional minutes at full speed. He has only seen action in one game in the NHL this season, so this will give him a chance to log some ice time and return to Dallas.

Solid Debut For Stars' Connauton

News: Kevin Connauton, making his NHL debut, went plus-2 with two penalty minutes, two hits and four blocked shots in 16:05 of ice time during Thursday's win over Calgary.
Analysis: Though he did nothing offensively, Kevin Connauton did what an NHL team really wants from a rookie on the blue line: He was responsible defensively, didn't turn the puck over, and didn't try to do too much. But he has talent, so if he sees more ice time going forward, he could offer some offensive production. Connauton's made a good impression on the Stars since coming over in a trade from Vancouver last year and is certainly a part of their future on the blue line.

Stars' Connauton To Make NHL Debut Thursday

News: Kevin Connauton will make his NHL debut Thursday against the Flames.
Analysis: The 23-year-old was a healthy scratch for the team's first eight games of the season, but he'll finally get his chance Thursday with Alex Goligoski expected to sit. Kevin Connauton put up 31 points (nine goals, 22 assists) in 69 games at the AHL level last season.

News: Kevin Connauton has agreed to a three-year contract with the Stars, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: The young defenseman will likely start in the AHL, where he scored 31 points in 69 games between stints with the Chicago Wolves and Texas Stars last season. He will look to reach the NHL for the first time next season.

Stars Send Connauton To AHL

News: The Stars have sent Kevin Connauton to AHL Texas, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton, who was recently acquired from the Canucks in exchange for Derek Roy, will likely find his way back to Dallas in the near future, as the Stars are looking to rebuild. The 23-year-old defenseman has recorded 25 points and 67 penalty minutes in 60 games in the AHL this season.

Canucks Ship Connauton To Dallas

News: Kevin Connauton was traded to Dallas on Tuesday as part of the Derek Roy trade, the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton is an offensive-minded blueliner who should have a future with the Stars as soon as next season. The 23-year-old defenseman has totaled 81 points in 206 career games at the AHL level.

Canucks Send Connauton To Minors

News: Kevin Connauton was assigned to Chicago of the AHL on Friday, the Canucks' official site reports.
Analysis: The 22-year-old defenseman has show some promise at the AHL level, totaling 65 points in 177 games, but he remains outside of the Canucks' current plans. The Canucks could give Kevin Connauton a look later this year if a need fo an in-season replacement arises.

Canucks Send Connauton to Minors

News: The Canucks assigned Kevin Connauton to Chicago of the AHL on Sunday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Not much of a surprise here, as the Canucks plan to take their time developing the 21-year-old blueliner. Steve Anthony, Darren Archibald, Sebastian Erixon, Yann Suave and Bill Sweatt were also assigned to the Wolves on Sunday.

Canucks Taking Their Time With Connauton

News: The Canucks are in no rush to get Kevin Connauton to the NHL, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Kevin Connauton, 21, had 11 goals with Manitoba of the AHL last season despite being the youngest blueliner on the squad. He has tons of offensive ability from the blue line, but Connauton will need to continue developing his off-the-puck play and defense before getting a legit shot with the Canucks.
