Kadri Has Solid Game In Embarrassing Leaf Loss

News: Nazem Kadri scored a goal and finished plus-1 in Tuesday's 9-2 loss to Nashville. He played more than 17 minutes.
Analysis: It's somewhat remarkable that he finished plus-1 in such an embarrassing loss, but there are nights when he actually plays a complete game. Too bad it comes when the rest of the team looks horrendous. He has a point in each of his last two; fingers crossed this is the start of something beautiful.

Leafs' Kadri Scuffling This Season

News: Nazem Kadri picked up an assist in Saturday' s loss to Buffalo. He has just eight points in 18 games this season.
Analysis: The Leafs started him on the top line Saturday, but that's not a vote of confidence. Instead, they did it to allow the emerging Peter Holland to center the second line to push Nazem Kadri. Nazzy has to pick up his game in a big way to keep a grip on that second-line gig. And to keep him on your fantasy roster.

Leafs' Kadri Gets Two Assists

News: Nazem Kadri picked up two assists Saturday in a win over the Rangers. He has five points, including two goals, in his last five games.
Analysis: We're hoping he can keep up some of that scoring pace, but it seems as though he'll need to stick with Phil Kessel if that's to come to pass -- his latest offense has come with Kessel on the top line. This bears watching as it seems Kessel is the only teammate who meshes with Nazem Kadri.

Leafs' Kadri Gets Another Goal

News: Nazem Kadri tapped home a pass late in the first period of Saturday's win over Chicago.
Analysis: He now has at least a goal in each of his last two games. His inflated sense of self will likely grate you, but it won't necessarily lower his fantasy value. And he seems to like skating on a line with Phil Kessel, so take advantage of that opportunity while it lasts.

Leafs' Kadri Dazzles Vs. Blue Jackets

News: Nazem Kadri recorded a goal and an assist in Friday's win over Columbus.
Analysis: The two-point outburst snapped a six-game scoring drought for Nazem Kadri, who finished a plus-3 in Friday's win. Currently centering the top line, Kadri will get plenty of opportunities to continue to pile up points. We knew he was too good to stay quiet for long. Although he only has three goals and four points on the season, Kadri is now playing alongside Phil Kessel, meaning his fantasy value is on the rise.

Leafs' Kadri Scores Second Goal

News: Nazem Kadri scored a goal in Toronto's 6-3 win over the Rangers Sunday.
Analysis: Nazem Kadri set career highs in goals and assists last season, but spent much of the offseason attempting to improve his goal scoring abilities to build on his 2013-14 season. He's off to a good start in that department so far, with a pair of goals in the team's first three games.

Leafs' Kadri Nets First Of Season

News: Nazem Kadri scored his first goal of the season in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: He tipped a Brandon Kozun shot to open the scoring for the Leafs. He spent considerable time over the summer working on his goal-scoring abilities, so watch for both his SOG and goal totals to climb to career marks this season.

Leafs' Kadri: Working To Improve Shot Release

News: Nazem Kadri has been working on his shot over the summer and is looking to put up a lot more points this season, reports Sportsnet.ca. "Every single year I like my production to go up and up, so I want to get better [in terms of] goals, points, assists, plus/minus, time on ice," he said. "These are all things I think about and can improve on."
Analysis: He's been in the gym working on wrist curls and strengthening his forearms and shoulders to improve his shot. "I've really been working on my shot and my release, knowing a lot of NHL goalies can't be beat without a quick release," said Nazem Kadri. "The power doesn't necessarily have to be there, but the release definitely does. I'm trying to score a few more goals and get more pucks on net." The center once potted 35 goals in 56 OHL games with the London Knights, but he will be hard pressed to replicate that scoring rate in the NHL. Still, he could certainly be in line for an improvement over his 20 goals from last season and 60 points could be in the offing.

Leafs' Kadri: 20th Goal Of Season; Hits 50 Points

News: Nazem Kadri was gifted with his 20th goal of the season -- a power-play marker -- in Saturday's loss to Winnipeg. The goal came when goalie Ondrej Pavelec coughed up a puck from behind the net and passed it to Kadri in the crease, who drilled it into an empty net.
Analysis: A goal is a goal, no matter how it is scored. And Nazem Kadri has now joined the 20-goal club. It was also his 50th point of the season. It's a very good season for the young center -- he'd probably be valued more if he wasn't in Toronto.

Leafs' Kadri: Power-Play Assist

News: Nazem Kadri picked up a power-play assist Tuesday in a loss to the Blues. It was his 30th assist of the season.
Analysis: He has 48 points on the season and is showing a few sparks of life in the last few games. Those sparks have only translated into two points in his last three games, but he could be poised to bring you some decent complementary scoring in the next few games.

Leafs' Kadri: Six Points In Last 14 Games

News: Nazem Kadri equalled his career goal mark of 18 with a power-play marker in Saturday's loss to Montreal.
Analysis: He should get 20 goals this season and come close to a mid-50s point total. There are moments we love this guy and there are moments when we want to pull out our hair because of him. Case in point? He has just six points in his last 14 games, but when he does score, it looks so darn good. This inconsistency makes him a tough roll in shallow leagues.

Kadri's Two Assists Help Power Leafs

News: Nazem Kadri dished out a pair of assists -- one on the power play -- in Thursday's 3-2 win over Los Angeles.
Analysis: Although Nazem Kadri's been inconsistent all year, and that's been no different recently -- he'd been scoreless in his last two contests and four of six -- he now has a new career high in points (46). He should easily clear 50-plus by the time the dust settles, and at 23, still has time to develop further.

Toronto's Kadri: Goals In Back-To-Back Games

News: Nazem Kadri scored his 17th goal of the season in Saturday's OT win over Philadelphia and in doing so, he equaled his career high in points (44).
Analysis: He's been a bit streaky this season and at times has appeared to struggle with the chemistry between him and linemate Joffrey Lupul. This is just his third point in his last seven games, but he now has a goal in back-to-back games. This may be the start of something nice.

Leafs' Kadri: Now One Point From Tying Career Mark

News: Nazem Kadri scored his first goal in seven games in the Maple Leafs' 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers on Wednesday night.
Analysis: It's goal No. 16 for the young center, who had heard his name mentioned in trade murmurs. He has 43 points on the season and that's one from his career mark of 44 from last season. The growth has been slow, but the potential is still there.

Suspension Looming For Leafs' Kadri?

News: Nazem Kadri scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over Ottawa to extend his point streak to five games and nine points, including three goals. But he may face supplemental discipline for a controversial hit-from-behind on the Senators' Cody Ceci.
Analysis: He hammered Ceci hard and the young defender went head-first into the end boards. Nazem Kadri then backhanded the puck into the slot where Joffrey Lupul fired it home to knot the game at twos. He did not receive a penalty, but the hit sure looked suspension-worthy to us.

Leafs' Kadri: Three Assists And Four-Game Streak

News: Nazem Kadri had three assists, including his 100th career point, in Thursday's win over Florida. He now has seven points, including five assists, on his current four-game scoring streak.
Analysis: He'd been criticized earlier this month, but then went on a tear at mid-month. He has tallied at least a point in seven of his last eight games and 12 points in that span. He's a great activation right now. Let's hope he keeps things rolling more consistently.

Leafs' Kadri: Two Goals Stretch Point Streak

News: Nazem Kadri scored two goals Tuesday in a 3-2 win over the Lightning. His point streak now stands at three games and four points (two goals, two assists).
Analysis: He has been held off the scoresheet just once in his last seven contests and has nine points, including three goals, in that span. He has been remarkably inconsistent this year, and that has made him a difficult activation. But not right now. Take advantage of this little spurt while it lasts.

Leafs' Kadri Continues To Pick Up Points

News: Nazem Kadri picked up an assist Saturday against the Jets and now has at least a point in five of his last six games.
Analysis: He has one goal and six assists in those six games. He also has 14 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-4 rating in that span. It's nice to see him make a difference out there, but we really want to make sure this isn't a mirage that was inspired by a frustrated coach. Keep him active as long as he keeps this up.

Toronto's Kadri: Five-Game Point Streak

News: Nazem Kadri has six points in the last five games after extending his point streak Thursday. He set up the Leafs' only goal in a 7-1 loss.
Analysis: He did deliver 12 PIM on Thursday, so he's actually delivering in multiple categories. The streak is nice -- fingers crossed he can keep things rolling. The streak has come since he was called out by his coach for his underperformance.

Leafs' Kadri: Four-Game Streak

News: Nazem Kadri scored his 13th goal Tuesday against the Avs; it gave Toronto a 3-0 lead at the time and turned out to be the game-winner in an eventual 5-2 victory.
Analysis: The tally pushes Nazem Kadri's current point streak to four games and six points. It appears he's a bit more at home on the second line for Toronto rather than being featured on the first line, where a healthy Tyler Bozak has reestablished himself as the top center.

Leafs' Kadri: Two More Points

News: Nazem Kadri had another two-point game Monday. He scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist against the Coyotes, and now has a three-game, five-point scoring streak.
Analysis: Looks like the criticisms lit a fire under the center. Use him while he's streaking -- his game is still a bit inconsistent, so you need to be poised and ready to shuffle him out of the lineup again if he goes quiet.

Leafs' Kadri: Two Assists And Five Hits Set Tone

News: Nazem Kadri picked up two assists and had five hits in Saturday's win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: He's still without a goal in 11, but Saturday was a very nice performance for Nazzy. He was fully engaged and set the tone early with a huge hit. He has a load of talent; he just needs to play with a bit more consistency.

Leafs' Kadri Picks Up Two Helpers

News: Nazem Kadri pocketed two helpers in Tuesday's loss to the Islanders. One of the assists came on the power play.
Analysis: They're his first points in four games and his first assists in nine. His game is about offense with an edge, but Nazem Kadri's still working to find consistency -- at least this season. Perhaps this is the start of something special.

Leafs' Kadri: Third Line Looming?

News: Nazem Kadri may be moved down to the third line if his game doesn't pick up, but he doesn't seem phased by the possibility, reports the Toronto Star. "I've been dealing with that since day one, so it's nothing new to me," said the center after Monday's practice.
Analysis: He didn't take advantage of the first-line opportunity afforded him when Tyler Bozak was out. And his coach, Randy Carlyle, has been hard on him for a while. Then, after Monday's practice, Carlyle had this to say: "We were taken to task about why we were playing him on the third line last year because he had all these points. If you look statistically this year, he's not far off of what he had the same time last year in the same number of games." Get ready, fantasy owners -- he could be dangled in a deal and his landing spot, either on the third line or in another city, will have a significant impact on his fantasy value.

Leafs' Kadri Scores Just Second In Last 10 Games

News: Nazem Kadri scored the Leafs' only goal through overtime in Monday's shootout loss to the Rangers. It was his 11th of the season, but just his second in his last 10 games.
Analysis: He's been scuffling in the last 10, totalling just three points and a minus-6 rating. Nazzy fancies himself a top-line player, but his coaches view his upside as a second-line guy. Right now, he's not delivering like either. Maybe a few days off will do him good.
