Wild's Scandella Maintaining Impressive Rating

News: Marco Scandella was plus-3 with an assist Sunday, helping the Wild to a series-clinching win against the Blues in Game 6.
Analysis: The helper was a nifty one, as Marco Scandella had to fight through heavy traffic along the boards in order to drop the puck off to Justin Fontaine for the score. Scandella posted a plus-5 rating in the opening round of the playoffs, which currently has him tied with five other skaters for the league lead in the plus/minus category.

Scandella Nets Wild's Only Goal

News: Marco Scandella scored the Wild's only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Blues in Game 2 of their first-round series.
Analysis: He broke his stick on the shot, but it somehow fooled Jake Allen to trigger the red light. He's been surprisingly offensive in his last four games, potting three goals.

Wild's Scandella Pots 10th Goal

News: Marco Scandella potted his 10th goal of the season in Thursday's 4-2 victory over the Predators.
Analysis: After tallying only seven career goals in his 165 games entering the 2014-15 season, Marco Scandella's increased ability to find the net has been quite staggering. While he's been aided by a 9.3 shooting percentage, that's only three points ahead of his career rate, which suggests he's not benefiting from an inordinate amount of puck luck. Seasons of double-digit goals could very well become the norm for Scandella, who turned 25 in February.

Wild's Scandella To Return Saturday

News: Scandealla (upper body) will be back in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blues.
Analysis: Wild coach Mike Yeo confirmed what was already expected, as Marco Scandella will finally get back in the lineup, after missing nine consecutive games. Christian Folin will likely be a healthy scratch Saturday.

Wild's Scandella Expected To Return Saturday

News: Marco Scandella (upper body) will likely return for Saturday's game against the Blues, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Marco Scandella was a full participant at Friday's practice, so he's expected to take Christian Folin's spot in the lineup, after missing each of the last nine games.

Wild's Scandella Hoping To Play By Weekend

News: Marco Scandella (upper body) is hoping to return by Saturday's game against the Blues, Chris Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Marco Scandella will miss his eighth straight game Tuesday against the Predators, but showed evidence that a return is forthcoming by participating in practice Monday. Though injuries have been a stumbling block for Scandella, he's still enjoying the best season of his career, producing nine goals, 20 points, and 52 PIM over 53 games.

Wild's Scandella Nears Return

News: Marco Scandella (upper body) was present at practice Monday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Per the report, though Marco Scandella won't play Tuesday against the Preds, a return Thursday against the Capitals or Saturday against the Blues is plausible for the blueliner, who has been out since Feb. 28.

Wild's Scandella Not On Track To Return Next Tues.

News: Marco Scandella (upper body) appears highly unlikely to play next Tuesday against the Predators, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Wild previously ruled Marco Scandella out for the team's two weekend games a day earlier, and with the blueliner still failing to notice much progress in his recovery, he'll now be sidelined until at least the latter half of the upcoming week. He was on the ice Friday morning, but isn't able to shoot the puck with full force just yet.

Wild's Scandella Expected To Miss Next Three Games

News: Marco Scandella (upper body) will likely miss the next three games, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Already expected to miss games on Tuesday and Friday, Marco Scandella is now considered unlikely to play in Saturday's game against the Blues. His timetable has been pushed back a few times, so it wouldn't be wise to count on a return next week.

Wild's Scandella (Undisclosed) Out Tuesday

News: Marco Scandella (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game, and will likely miss Friday as well, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Marco Scandella's timetable has been pushed back multiple times due to setbacks, and it appears he still isn't ready to return. While Friday hasn't been completely ruled out, he seems doubtful at best for the contest, which would then make Saturday the next possible return date.

Wild's Scandella Sidelined With Setback

News: Marco Scandella, who left Saturday's game against Colorado with an undisclosed issue, could be out for a week or more, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Coach Mike Yeo relayed Tuesday that Marco Scandella suffered a setback, which will evidently stall the blueliner's return to action for the time being.

Wild's Scandella Sidelined

News: Marco Scandella (undisclosed) is not slated to play Tuesday against the Sens, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Given that Marco Scandella's injury doesn't involve any sort of structural damage, consider the blueliner day-to-day for now.

Wild's Scandella Could Play Tuesday

News: Marco Scandella, who left Saturday's game against Colorado with an undisclosed issue, appears likely to play Tuesday against the Senators, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Though the report doesn't identify what sort of injury Marco Scandella is dealing with, it was relayed that he isn't dealing with any sort of structural damage. Scandella wasn't present for Monday's practice, but should take part in Tuesday's morning skate, after which the Wild will likely provide a ruling on his status for the game.

Willd's Scandella Hurt In Win

News: Marco Scandella left Saturday's win over Colorado in the second period due to an undisclosed injury and did not return, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: With the Wild already without Jared Spurgeon, Minnesota could be in the trade market for a defenseman at Monday's deadline if this injury is serious.

Wild's Scandella Able To Return

News: Marco Scandella was able to return to Friday's game against the Oilers after suffering an apparent leg injury in the first period, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Wild and fantasy owners will breathe a collective sigh of relief, as Marco Scandella's injury initially appeared to be serious. However, the 24-year-old defender is reportedly fine, and should be available when the Wild take on the Stars on Sunday.

Wild's Scandella Leaves With Injury

News: Marco Scandella was forced from Friday's contest against the Oilers with what appeared to be a leg injury, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The injury occurred when Ryan Hamilton fell on Marco Scandella's leg in front of Minnesota's net. Scandella appeared to be in a lot of pain as he limped to the team's locker room. The team should update his status in the coming days.

Wild's Scandella Snaps Lengthy Point Drought

News: Marco Scandella fired eight shots on goal, but managed just an assist in Tuesday's win over Chicago. He also went plus-2.
Analysis: It was a good enough effort to earn him the game's second star, and it also snapped a 10-game point drought dating back to before his IR stint due to a head injury. The eight shots are also one more than Marco Scandella managed in the prior six games combined. Perhaps this is a sign that he's coming around and will start producing more consistently again.

Wild's Scandella (Head) To Play Saturday

News: Marco Scandella (head) will be activated from injured reserve and suit up for Saturday's game against the Coyotes.
Analysis: Marco Scandella had been skating on his own the last few days, but only resumed practicing with the rest of the team during Saturday's gameday skate. Though teams normally feel more comfortable having injured players practicing for multiple days before clearing them to play, Scandella didn't look to be limited during the session, participating fully in all drills. With the blueliner seemingly poised to log his usual 20-plus minutes of ice time Saturday, he's probably safe for fantasy owners to plug back into their lineups. Even after the injury setback, Scandella is still poised to blow past last season's total of 17 points, as he's already amassed nine goals and six assists over 34 contests.

Wild's Scandella (Head) Considered Close To Return

News: Marco Scandella (head) is considered close to returning to action, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Marco Scandella resumed skating Monday and figures to get in a couple of practices over the next few days to prove his upper-body injury is no longer a concern. After Thursday's match in Buffalo, the Wild will have three more games for Scandella to try to prepare for before the All-Star break commences.

Wild Place Scandella On IR

News: Marco Scandella (head) has been placed on IR by the Wild, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The move to place Marco Scandella -- who has missed four games with an upper-body injury -- on IR, was made retroactive to Jan. 6. Prior to being forced out of the Wild's lineup, Scandella had recorded nine goals and 15 points in 34 games.

Wild's Scandella (Head) Resumes Skating

News: Marco Scandella (head) resumed skating Monday.
Analysis: The blueliner is set to skate again Tuesday, but won't be a lineup option for the Wild's game later in the evening against the Penguins. It will be the fourth game in a row Marco Scandella will have missed due to the head injury, which has prevented him from practicing with the rest of the team. Since he's not traveling with the Wild on their road trip, expect Scandella to miss Thursday's game in Buffalo as well, with a more realistic shot at playing in Saturday's home tilt with the Coyotes.

Wild's Scandella (Head) To Miss Another

News: Coach Mike Yeo said after Saturday's loss to the Predators that Marco Scandella (head) wouldn't travel with the team to Chicago for Sunday's game, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Wild aren't expected to hold a practice Sunday morning, so there wouldn't have been an opportunity for the coaching staff to see Marco Scandella back on the ice. Scandella could join the Wild at some point later in their road trip.

Wild's Scandella (Head) Out Again Saturday

News: Marco Scandella (head) will not play Saturday against the Predators.
Analysis: Marco Scandella is being treated as day-to-day with his injury, but since he hasn't resumed practicing just yet with the team, he'll be forced to sit out a second straight match.

Wild's Scandella Reports Improvement

News: Marco Scandella (head) reported improvement with his condition Thursday, according to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Marco Scandella will be forced to miss Thursday's game against the Blackhawks, but it looks like the Wild are viewing him as day-to-day at this point. If he's able to get in a full practice Friday, Scandella will have a good chance at reclaiming a lineup spot Saturday versus the Predators.

Wild's Scandella (Head) Out Thursday

News: Marco Scandella (head) will miss Thursday's game against the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Marco Scandella was hit in head by the puck in the second period of Tuesday's game against Sharks, causing him to miss the third period and overtime. He will now miss at least Thursday's game because of the injury with Stu Bickel likely drawing into the lineup if Nate Prosser (illness) is unable to go. Scandella's next opportunity to return will come Saturday against the Predators.
